I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

Hello everyone. Good news about the scan, PandaBear. I am going to have one after Easter, when I shall be about 8.5 weeks. I haven't been feeling well the last few days - tired and achey, and my tummy feels awful. I'm quite hungry but whenever I do eat my tummy feels grumbly (as in upset). I hope I haven't got a bug. Anyway, not long to wait now till my scan.

Hope you all have a good weekend, and get lots of choccies!

squigglesmum · 09/04/2004 22:27

Hi y'all. Congrats on the scan Pandabear - can't wait for mine - 5th May, just before my birthday! I keep worrying that it's all my imagination, and it won't be real until I've seen that little heartbeat! My morning sickness disappeared, so it must have been a tummy-bug I think. My mum's guessed, and I've told a couple of close friends but definitely not for general issue yet. Starting to expand slightly though - bit scary, I didn't show for months last time! However my flabby left-over tummy from last time is looking less flabby, so that's a plus.
(I'm a fairly new MN-er btw, but i've been lurking for quite a while - sorry. But you're all so useful, I thought it was time I started being supportive to others as well as getting useful info myself. Off to hunt for VBAC threads now . . . )
Also btw, I'm not anti-social, but I only get on-line at the weekends so it's not that i'm ignoring questions.
Hope everyone has a good week!

collision · 10/04/2004 16:21

I am so hungry all the time and am stuffing myself!! Tomatoes and meat....yummy. Bought some maternity clothes whilst in the UK last week from ASDA......really nice as well and cheap!

Will confirm PG at the drs next week and then take in a urine sample too.

Boobs are huge. Told friends at a wedding last week but still not family as I would like to tell people face to face than over the internet!

PotPourri · 10/04/2004 16:36

Hi Everyone. I'm brand new and wondered if I could join in. My due date is 29 November. It's my first time pregnant so I feel as if I have dreamt it all and don't have a clue what I should be doing. I've got about a million questions...

P.S. I'm struggling a bit with the abbreviations (DH, DS, DD...?)

bunny2 · 10/04/2004 20:48

Hi Potpourri, good to have you join us. Please feel free to ask questions, lots of us have been through it all before.

I need to amend the list, that's 2 new additions.

dh - dear husband, ds - son, dd daughter... mil mother in law... and so on. Must get some maternity clothes before we leave - will try the big ASDA near the in laws just before I head off. thanks for the info there collision.

PandaBear · 11/04/2004 12:55

I'm also hungry all the time. I'm worried that I'll be as big as a house by the time this little one comes along. I definitely am already mourning the loss of my waist, and haven't seen past 10pm for the last 3 weeks. The joys of early pregnancy hey girls!!

On the plus side I've definitely started to relax more since my scan and really hope that the same happens for all of you due to have a scan next week. Good luck to all!! Welcome Potporroui and congratulations! Hope everyone else is OK.

PotPourri · 11/04/2004 18:09

Thanks Girls. I'm very impressed with this site for information and for making me feel so welcome. Thanks for the summary of the terms.

I am going to get down to the shops for a few non-underwire bra, maternity clothes, and alos to find an antenatal yoga or pilates class. I'm starting to feel a bit more organised now that I have an idea what I should be thinking about, so thanks girls. (Oh, I wish the first scan was earlier than 12 weeks, apart from my body being very different and really tired, I still feel like it's unreal).

P.S. Lots of choccie eggs today - for the baby's happiness of course.

collision · 11/04/2004 18:55

Congrats PotP!! Very exciting for you too. ASDA was great for cheapy maternity clothes and Mothercare had some reduced things too. Still need a new bra and will have a look here in Italy for one......otherwise I might get someone to send me one!!!

bunny2 · 11/04/2004 19:45

I look 6 months pg already - I am so bloated. I will soon be in maternity clothes. Dorothy Perkins often has maternity stuff on sale and some stuff is reduced to as low as 3 quid.

eidsvold · 11/04/2004 20:18

collision can you not get measured there and order one online from Mothercare - they have really reasonable maternity bras... I have ordered stuff online from them with no problems.

Mothercare do have some good stuff on sale - I am glad they are selling out their winter stuff - I can buy a few essentials ready for my second albeit much milder winter in June

eidsvold · 11/04/2004 20:19

strangely I don't feel any bigger.... although my sil who is also due to have her second soon says she was bigger second time around?? anyone else finding this?

collision · 12/04/2004 09:49

I thought I would be a hippo first time round and bought size 16 maternity. I wasnt big at all and regretted buying things that were so big for me. This time round I have bought size 12 and think I might grow out of them by tomorrow so, yes, I am going to be bigger this time I think!

Good idea bout Mothercare online, Eidsvold. Will give it a try.

vivie · 13/04/2004 14:02

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well. I've not been around for a bit (visiting dh's folks) so sorry I've been missing you all.
I had a dating scan today and I am 9 weeks 3 days (how can they possibly be that precise??!) and we could see the baby's heart beating and the limbs moving around - awwww! I'm very relieved but I know that this is only the first hurdle and there's always something to worry about!
My tummy's spreading and I reckon I'll be in maternity clothes before too long but my boobs have stayed the same size, just sore. Does anyone know why we shouldn't wear underwired bras in pregnancy? I always wear them and I could do without spending more money that I have to!
eidsvold, are you still feeling sick? I seem to be okay now, just v tired. Congrats to you PotP!

Twinkie · 13/04/2004 14:26

You must all visit Jojo Maman Bebe - they have a maternity clearence sale - lots of great t-shirts and stuff for next to nothing - look at the under £10 bit and the maternity clearence bit - I just got 6 t shirts and 4 pairs of trousers for £60 - if you order 2 t shirts you get them for £5.50 each rather than £9.99!!

bunny2 · 13/04/2004 17:59

I have scan tomorrow. I hate them and am already dreading it. Hope I ma still on this thread tomorrow evening .

eidsvold · 13/04/2004 19:18

vivie - off and on - some good days some not so good days. Still tired. I know underwire is not good but I can't remember why.

bought some maternity clothes today - dont' need them - everything still fits fine but I am only 10 weeks. I figured buy winter stuff for when I am in Aus and then can get the summer stuff when I get there. Got some nice track pants and t-shirt from mothercare - very comfy for flight to Australia in 7 weeks

thanks for the hints about JJMB - am off to check it out.

hope all goes well tomorrow bunny.

collision · 13/04/2004 19:47

Thinking of you tomorrow Bunny. Try and stay positive as all was well last time. Post as soon as you know.

vivie · 13/04/2004 20:10

good luck bunny - we'll all be thinking of you. xxx

PandaBear · 14/04/2004 08:51

Good luck Bunny - thinking of you

M2T · 14/04/2004 08:53

Everything's crossed for you Bunny. XXX

Mum2Ela · 14/04/2004 09:20

Bunny - thinking of you. xx

Well, have been away for a while. Bloody laptop still playing up so can't log on as often as I would like. Everything is fine here. Still quite tired and feeling sick in the evenings, but nothing I can't manage. Feel like I have been pregnant for ever!! Cannot believe I am only 10 weeks + 3 days (though when I have my dating scan they will probably change my date and I will have to do that week 'again' - don't you just hate it when they do that?!)

Havent thought about maternity clothes yet. Still fitting my size 10's which is strange as I thought I would get bigger quicker this time round. Don't speak to soon eh?

x

bunny2 · 14/04/2004 15:03

Thanks ladies I am 7 wks and 6 days (tallies exactly with my dates) and there is a strong heartbeat. Phew. Now I can relax until my 10 wk scan.

How is everyone else?

PandaBear · 14/04/2004 16:08

Yeah good news Bunny. I am so happy for you. Enjoy the next few weeks!
