I'm a bit nervous about opening this thread as I've only foundt out I'm pregnant and anything can happen...anyway, due date 1st november, I still cant believe it.....
This is my second baby but I'm even more anxious about this pregnancy than first time round...I'd been wantind a 2nd baby for over a yera now, but dh wanted to wait longer, and now it's happened, but it wasn't planned at all!!!

We're both over the moon though, but trying to contain our happyness just in case....(easier said than done)

anyway, I fell better now, having shared this with you..

off to play with dd1 now!!!

eidsvold · 01/04/2004 20:49

glad to hear all went well. I finally havemy bookingin appt with the GP next week - shall be intrigued to see her response when told my pregnancy history and of dd ( new GP since last pregnancy)!!

Mum2Ela · 02/04/2004 08:58

Morning everyone.

Belated Happy Birthday Bunny! Sorry its belated, I couldn't log on yesterday.

Well, I am really pissed off with DH at the mo (not so 'D' at the mo). Wed night we arranged that we would visit friends at the weekend and tell them about the pregnancy. But the last nite DH went to the pub, 'conveniently' forgot our conversation and told all our friends whilst I wasn't there. I know you may think this is petty but it was really important to me that we tell them together. Now he has gone and told all the blokes who will then tell their wives / girlfriends and I just think it takes something away from it. Next time I see them they probably won't even congratulate me cos they have all congratultaed DH.

Call me hormonal, but this is important me to at the mo and am not speaking to DH. Twat.

bunny2 · 02/04/2004 16:36

M2E, I would be p*ssed off too. It is your news, you should choose when to tell people. Still, at least it shows how excited he is, he probably couldnt wait to tell everyone.

I've got bigger hips already

Who has morning sickness (apart from poor Eidsvold)?

Quackers · 02/04/2004 17:22

Bunny! Hope you had a great birthday!

You have such a great chance now! Remember our freind Lesley! Once heartbeat is detected, it's around 95% success rate now. Catch up on m/c thread soon! Got rels over so hard to log on! xx

bunny2 · 02/04/2004 18:13

Unfortunately that statistic only applies if you havent miscarried b4. It goes down with each miscarriage . Also, both previous miscarriages had heartbeats so I still cant relax.

collision · 03/04/2004 16:34

Hi everyone....all is well here tho still havent confirmed PG officially as it is too much hassle to get the label and then take the urine test. At this rate I will have had the baby b4 it is confirmed!!

Cant decide if nothing fits cos of the baby or cos I am eating too much. Cravings shouldnt start yet but I cant get enough Marmite Toast, tomatoes and meat!! Weird, tho maybe it is an excuse to stuff myself!!

Feel sick on and off all day but nothing major. Hope all is well you and thinking of you esp Bunny

bunny2 · 03/04/2004 19:44

Thanks Collision. I'm fine. Craving mashed potatoes and fish, cant be bad.

I told my MIL that we saw a heartbeat on the scan and she repeated her initial reaction of "well, Im not going to get excited by it". Miserable old cow. Im not telling her anything else.

squigglesmum · 03/04/2004 21:55

Can I join in? I think my date is around about 27th November. I have ds1 already, who is 10 months at the moment - that'll make them 18 months apart, which is just exactly what I hoped for.
Has anyone else had any weird morning sickness? I was hardly sick at all last time, just nauseous a lot, but yesterday I was sick at hourly intervals all day until 2am, and today I'm fine, though a bit washed out. I'm almost starting to wonder if it was just a stomach bug.

collision · 04/04/2004 10:44

Congrats Squigglesmum!! Are you a new MN er?? or under a different name?? Bunny will add you to her list! Wow! 18month gap.....you will have your work cut out!!

Bunny.....why are some MIL so horrible? Am dreading telling mine as she is evil!! Last time she told DH he was stupid and irresponsible! even tho it was obvious DH and I were delighted and ds was planned! I might not even tell her!!

bunny2 · 04/04/2004 14:06

Hi Squigglesmum, same date as me!

Collision, your MIL sounds worse than mine. I told dh not to tell her anything about the pregnancy now. I know she doesnt want to get too excited because of my miscarriage history but she knows I had fertility treatment so getting pregnant is part of the battle. She could at least say well done and good luck.

collision · 04/04/2004 15:01

Bunny....do you usually get on with MIL? I dont at all so it wasnt a surprise really. Cow.

jellycat · 04/04/2004 15:17

Hello squigglesmum, and congratulations.

bunny and collision, when we told dh's parents, my MIL said Oh, you should have planned a spring baby'. Grrrrr! I said We did' (cos we started trying ages ago, it just didn't happen!).

Mum2Ela, I think you're quite justified in being annoyed with your dh. My dh did something similar when I was pg the first time - he told everyone at work and I really didn't want to tell too many people until after 12 weeks. I only told a few very close friends. We then lost the baby so he had to tell everyone this and I felt quite awkward. They were all very kind but I just felt it was difficult with people I hardly knew. He's learned his lesson now I think!

PregnantHeadhunter · 05/04/2004 11:31

Girls-
The telling people bit:

My Mother just had to tell people in her office in case she needed time off!

My brother proceeded to tell some random bloke I was expecting who congratulated me in Waitrose, when I was with my best friend who i hadn't told. I told both not to say anything as i'm only 7 weeks. And now apparently its me thats weird because i should be happy for everyone else that they are happy... Wished we'd planned this a lot better. Any other similar stories. The mil, thats a different story altogether. Maybe its me and my raging hormones

eidsvold · 05/04/2004 12:50

some people just have no concept of tact.... i am lucky although it made my mil cry when we told her as she realised that we would be living back in Australia when no 2 was born - but a very good reason to come out and visit i think

no one we have told exceopt medical staff have expressed dismay that we are having another child after dd - I am looking forward to my booking in appt on Wed with new GP - shall get my facts and figures ready for her

PandaBear · 06/04/2004 12:53

Hi All - well had my scan this morning and everything is normal. We saw baby's heartbeat and they say I'm 8 weeks Thanks to all of you for your support over the past two weeks. Hopefully I can start to relax and enjoy being pregnant now!!!

eidsvold · 06/04/2004 13:11

that is good news panda

bunny2 · 06/04/2004 20:19

Pandabear ,that is wonderful news.

Pregnantheadhunter, hi, good to have you join us. Do you have a due date?

Quackers · 06/04/2004 20:39

BUnny - old bat! Hope you;re all ok!

Mum2Ela · 07/04/2004 19:52

Hi everyone!

Pandabear - glad that all is fine. Its a lovely feeling, isn't it?

Well, me, still very tired. Should be 10 weeks on Easter Sunday, according to my last scan, and have had the date through for my dating scan - 27th April, so something to look forward to!

Feeling sick in the evenings and because I am sleeping so much in the day (DH has been fab with DD - taking her swimming etc) I can't sleep in the night. Was still lying there at 1am this morning when I heard DD get up. Put her back into bed and then heard her being sick which is not what you want in the middle of the night!

I will try to catch up soon but laptop still playing silly buggers so hope everyone is well and Happy Easter!

x

eidsvold · 08/04/2004 18:25

had my booking in appt today - the Gp was good especially when she started listing all the test I should have. I simply told her to stop as she would be wasting her time and I was well aware what was available. I have however been referred immediately to a consultant and am waiting for my dating scan appt. EDD 9th November.

bunny2 · 08/04/2004 19:37

This thread has been quite quiet. How is everyone? I still dont have any symptoms apart from big knockers and extreme tiredness. Cant say I miss the sickness. Got another scan on Wednesay and I am dreading it.

eidsvold · 09/04/2004 09:39

sick and tired and glad I am on two weeks term break. Then only six more weeks until I finish work and move country
