Just wondering if anyone else is pg with their 3rd, 4th, 5th, or more?!

I am newly pg with baby number 4 and finding it a bit different this time.

Yesterday I flicked through a couple of magazines but the content didn't seem that relevant to me. I am quietly happy but not nearly as excited or nervous as I was before, especially the first time.

I know what kind of birth I want (same as the last two times) and I don't need to buy any stuff, so there doesn't seem so much to think about, at least until the scan.

I am also a bit worried about how other people are going to react when we tell them. There seems to be a general view that wanting 4 children must make us mad.

Hope I am not alone?!

Congratulations Moon!!

Just been away for the weekend, it was nice to have some childfree time but I was very uncomfortable for the duration. The braxton hicks are just constant which makes walking and the baby's movements v uncomfortable. I am definitely having to wee every 30 mins now too!

Do you have to stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down to wee too lol?

pinkpeony4 · 05/11/2012 13:45

Hi

Sorry to have been so rubbish at posting. Huge congrats to all the new babies Thanks

I am now 23 weeks & were told at my scan that dc4 is a girl. After 3 boys I am still in shock and being quite disbelieving! She said she was 99% sure and checked about 10 times so hopefully she didn't miss anything!

I will try and be a better poster. Hope everyone is doing Ok.

Just got back from hospital. Put in a complaint about the doctors attitude as it was appalling. V abrupt, didn't appear to believe me about SPD which then made me unwilling to discuss anything with him. Saw a MW after the appointment & burst into tears. V glad dh was with me today.

LimeLeafLizard · 05/11/2012 17:05

Ood, sorry about horrid doctor - well done for putting in a complaint though, too often people are too intimidated to do anything in response.

Nice to see the stats list growing.

Peony, like you I have three boys and have been told this baby is a girl. It is lovely but I still can't quite believe it either! I am being quite restrained in not buying girly stuff, just in case the sonographer made a mistake. But baby 4 will need some new things by toddlerhood anyway because DS3 is destroying clothes atm. How old are your boys?

Evening all,

Well still more problems in the BP department here - can't believe Harry is 8 days old and I still am not sorted!

Felt a little better yesterday, so thought things must be improving but this morning felt awful again Sad. DH had obviously decided he had had enough and got on the phone to GP's who managed to find me an appointment. Turns out BP sky high again - even with the medication I got on Saturday. So now on more meds for the BP and they are finally doing full blood tests to check for possible pre-eclamsia, which can apparently still be around after the birth and am also on antibiotics for possible kidney infection. So am hoping this will either resolve the issues, or at least get to the bottom of what the problem is. Need to feel better by the end of next week, as DH is back at work, and I'll have all the 5 kids to look after on my own Confused

Congratulations Pink and Lime on the girls! Having had both girls and boys they are both fab in different ways!

Ood well done for complaining. I am thinking that I should complain about things, as I don't think they monitored me properly after I'd had the baby, so it has taken 8 days for things to be sorted, when in fact if they had checked me properly in the first place, it may have been sorted earlier - and I wouldn't have had to feel crap for over a week now.

Shelly hopefully not long to go now then....

Oodthunkit · 05/11/2012 19:37

5kids I would though I complain about lots it could help someone else and it could help staff justify more staff needed we used to log any problems when I was in care work as it was the only way they would give us more staff

AppleCrumples · 05/11/2012 20:23

Ood good on you for complaining. I think your right and it does help others. Sorry you had crap treatment though.

5kids poor you to have such bp problems I hope they get sorted soon so you can enjoy your baby.

Lime I didn't know what I was having last time (dd legs crossed) so when a girl arrived after 2 boys I said I wouldn't go mad on the girl stuff then went nuts in boots! They had such adorable little dresses and I couldn't help myself! Turned out to be quite impractical and dd lived in ds's old baby clothes.

SeymoreInOz · 05/11/2012 20:40

yes Shelly or try leaning back but I can still only squeeze a dribble out! I think it might be to do with the braxton hicks which are coming every few minutes all day long. I feel like I'm carrying a boulder around!

Feeling like a massive fraud as the only one on DC3 on the list, I hope you don't mind me sticking around.

ood well done for complaining, I hate it when you meet a healthcare worker who doesn't seem to like people, it's central to the bloody job!

5kids good news that they are looking after you properly now, I'm shocked that they weren't keeping a much closer eye on you!

Congrats pink and lime on your little girls! We have finally decided on a girl's name, still struggling with a boy's name. DH went out last week with 2 close friends whose other halves are due 2 weeks after me and told them our girl's name. They both really liked it! I hope I pop before them or I think I might be losing the name!!

LimeLeafLizard · 05/11/2012 20:48

Apple, you're so right about the practicality thing - I haven't bought much but I have done quite a bit of 'window' shopping online. The frilly stuff is cute but I am trying to concentrate on things like this which is more like the outfits my boys wore as babies.

5kids, so sorry to hear your BP problems are still ongoing. It must be so frustrating. Hope you get some answers soon. It is good that your DH is getting actively involved - I have always found it hard to be my usual assertive self just before and after having a baby. How are your other DC adapting to life with Harry? Have you managed to get a good photo of all of them together yet? Bet that is a real challenge! Grin

OP posts:
AppleCrumples · 05/11/2012 20:59

Lime that's so cute! We gave away all our newborn clothes after dd (as she was our last Confused ) so I've had to buy new vests and babygros. All are white/cream as this one also had it's legs crossed! So I've put some money aside for after it's born to get some nice clothes...

cherrypiew3 · 05/11/2012 20:59

Ood Sorry to hear about the dr's well done for complaining.

Pink and Lime It will be lovely having a little girl along with your boys.

5kids Sorry to hear you are still feeling unwell really hope you start to feel better soon.

Seymore Definitely stick around I am hoping you are going to count them last few days in with me. Think we have 4 days between us.

Feeling very strange tonight very uncomfortable and period type cramping went christmas shopping today and think I might have over done it.

CODwidow · 05/11/2012 23:17

Can someone please add me, dc5 due 12/12 a girl to add to my 4 ds's ! Grin

Lime my boys are 6, 3 & 2 at the end of the month. How old are yours? I think one of the biggest reasons I am so disbelieving is because we had a scan at 14 weeks and the sonographer guessed boy. I just keep telling myself that it is much clearer at 22 weeks so hopefully they are right! I have booked a baby bond 4d scan for 26 weeks though!!! That outfit is very cute! I have to admit that I have bought some pink baby grows, it's so nice shopping for a girl after 3 boys!! They can always go back if the scan was wrong!

Cod you must also have been shocked after 4 boys! How old are yours?

Ood good luck with the hospital

peterpie · 06/11/2012 08:52

Hello everybody!

I posted a couple of weeks ago and haven´t been back since Blush
I am expecting baby no3 (a girl after 2 boys) and was told yesterday that I will be having my elective C-Sec next Monday 12th November so it now feels very, very real Grin

I suppose I should make the most of my last week as a Mum of 2, I am still switching from blind panic to feeling everything will be OK, just hope I am more relaxed this time round.

Good luck to everybody

ShellyBobbs · 06/11/2012 12:28

Ood Good for you complaining, I really don't know who some people think they are sometimes, why on earth wouldn't they believe how much pain you can be in with SPD. It's horrendous!

5Kids Really hope they can sort you soon, it must be a worrying time for you with 4 other children and a newborn.

No signs of anything here yet. Strangely, I was sat here today just thinking that I wouldn't really be bothered if I went over, I reckon I can easily handle another 2 weeks. I began to think like this with my first and went over by 2 weeks lol Grin I think it's because you can finally see an end to it, I know it will definitely be over in under 3 weeks .

icequeenkate · 06/11/2012 13:14

Congrats to all the arrivals! Can't wait for that time here.

Went to playgroup this morning. Mistake. Full of new people, all gawping at me when they asked if it was pg2 (as only had DS3 with me) and I corrected them with a 'no, its ds4 on the way'. Grrrrrr. Then they all asked if I was knackered. Yes, obviously. No sympathy offered - just 'oh well you knew what you were embarking on'. Does the fact that I wanted a big family (only child myself) mean that I'm not allowed any sympathy? Grrrrr, again.

Might take a leaf out of apple's book and just collapse on the sofa til pick up time.

apologies for me me me post - only people with a goodly number of kids like yourselves will understand...

AppleCrumples · 06/11/2012 13:48

Ah icequeen we do understand. Seems only sensible to put feet up if the opportunity is there - it won't be there anymore after Jan. I've been really lucky so many women at school are about to have no4 and loads more already have 4 so the stupid comments are kept to a minimum! Grin
