Just wondering if anyone else is pg with their 3rd, 4th, 5th, or more?!

I am newly pg with baby number 4 and finding it a bit different this time.

Yesterday I flicked through a couple of magazines but the content didn't seem that relevant to me. I am quietly happy but not nearly as excited or nervous as I was before, especially the first time.

I know what kind of birth I want (same as the last two times) and I don't need to buy any stuff, so there doesn't seem so much to think about, at least until the scan.

I am also a bit worried about how other people are going to react when we tell them. There seems to be a general view that wanting 4 children must make us mad.

Hope I am not alone?!

Interesting 5kids never heard that before. I was told that after pains are worse the more kids you have, stocking up on painkillers now! All of mine have been harder to deliver (the placentas) so I don't think I could do without. Dd came quick last time but it took so long to deliver placenta that midwives were preparing to call an ambulance!

How are things going with bubs?

cherrypiew3 · 02/11/2012 21:23

Lime I have another growth scan in 2 weeks so mw said to wait and see if she moves by then.

Moon hope the reason for you not posting is that you are very busy looking after baby moon.

5kids Hope you are feeling better tomorrow the afterpains will not be helping. I had awful afterpains with dc3 could hardly walk so will be having a think about the placenta injection.

Feeling very fat now and uncomfortable I am so ready to meet dd.

Hi all so pleased to be able to let you know that baby girl Moon was born safely at home as planned at 5.16 on 1st Nov, 7lb 11oz. 4 hours from start to finish, waters broke in bed at 1.10am called for midwife by half one as I knew it would be quick, it turned out to be the lovely midwife who gave me the sweep on Tues. I was delighted to see her and she was fantastic.

Lovely experience though more painful than no. 2 it was 2 hours quicker so can't complain and just so relieved she's finally here safely without us having to go to hospital.

We're doing really well, DD1 and DD2 have been wonderful with her.

Thanks so much to all of you for helping me get through those loooonnnngggg 12 overdue days!!! Very, very best wishes to you all. I'll keep popping back xxx

AppleCrumples · 02/11/2012 21:28

Yay moon! congratulations! Glad you got your homebirth, enjoy your lovely baby x

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 02/11/2012 21:34

Yay moon and yay for big sisters!

cherrypiew3 · 02/11/2012 21:40

Congratulations Moon glad you got your homebirth and that you are both doing well.

LimeLeafLizard · 02/11/2012 22:35

Moon that is wonderful news - many congratulations and a warm welcome to Baby-Moon. Sounds like her birth went really well in the end - if only you hadn't had to wait so long - but at least she is here safely now. Hope you are feeling well.

5kids I didn't know that about the placenta injection either, although based on my history I think I'll still have it and just stock up on painkillers. Sorry to hear your BP is back up. Did the MW have any other ideas as to why you might be feeling worse than you did the last times? Hope anyway you are feeling better soon.

Oh Moon that's fantastic news! Congratulations Thanks

5kids Hope you're feeling better soon. I've never heard of it either, although I've never had afterpains at all with any of them strangely.

ShellyBobbs · 03/11/2012 14:15

Oh, does that mean that I'm next? 39 weeks today?

Oodthunkit · 03/11/2012 15:49

Think so shelly

5kidsnobump · 03/11/2012 15:56

Yay congratulations Moon. Glad you still got your home birth in the end!

Well been back to the midwife again today - BP even higher, so had to see emergency GP and they have put me back on the labetol. Said that it can take a few weeks for the BP issues to settle down after birth. I do actually feel a bit better since taking tablet a couple of hours ago - so hopefully that will sort out the issues. I have fed up of feeling completely crap!

Does sound like you may be next Shelly. Were your others late or early?

cherrypiew3 · 03/11/2012 16:22

Yep Shelly think you are next.

Hope you are feeling better soon its not like you can rest much when there are other dc around.

Well going to the local bonfire tonight and not really looking forward to standing up all night.

cherrypiew3 · 03/11/2012 16:24

The hope you are feeling better soon was for 5kids

ShellyBobbs · 03/11/2012 16:29

5Kids So glad you're feeling slightly better, hope it carries on. I was 2 weeks over, then 2 days early then 1 week early, so anytime really, but we all know what these little things are like Grin

I've cried off the bonfire tonight, hubby said he'd take the others, he's a good lad.

MoonHare · 03/11/2012 16:44

hope your bp issues are sorted soon 5kids.

best wishes for your home birth shelly, hope your new arrival doesn't make you wait! hope the experience is everything you want. I loved both my home births, calm, relaxed, stress free.

I had horrendous afterpains the first 2 days but today has been fine. I know I requested the injection but without checking my notes i don't know whether i had it. My mw did recommend it for a home birth as it reduces the chances of haemorrage (sp?) something everyone is even more keen to avoid at home. I'm guessing i must have had it as 3rd stage was only 10 mins. I was expecting bad pains though and stocked up on co-codamol, which i find pretty effective.

sorry about typing - doing it one handed

AppleCrumples · 03/11/2012 16:58

Ooh shelly am jealous! Fingers crossed you have bubs soon!

Wish I could cry off bonfire night really not up for it but dcs are looking forward to it and dp would never volunteer to take them himself even though he has only just got up and the dcs have been a bored nightmare today. I'm nackered! Tbf he has only had 1 day off this week but that does mean I only had an extra pair of hands here on wed. Honestly they can't go back to school soon enough!

Sorry for my misery post just struggling a bit with it all today x

ShellyBobbs · 03/11/2012 19:31

Thanks Moon, I am looking forward to it Grin

Sounds like you need a good rest Apple

AppleCrumples · 03/11/2012 21:38

Oh I do shelly am so tired! We went to the fireworks at scouts dd freaked out at all the bangs and some idiot (dp) gave ds2 cherryade to drink. A terrible move as the child is naturally quite erm bouncy! He finally stopped bouncing of the walls and fell asleep about 10 mins ago. Ds1 has finally gone to bed now so I finally have my feet up Grin.

We had to walk as car gone funny and on the way back I was proper waddling and so slow and I'm only 28 weeks!

Hope everyone is enjoying fireworks x
