Pregnancy

Pregnant with no. 3 / 4 / 5...?!

Just wondering if anyone else is pg with their 3rd, 4th, 5th, or more?!

I am newly pg with baby number 4 and finding it a bit different this time.

Yesterday I flicked through a couple of magazines but the content didn't seem that relevant to me. I am quietly happy but not nearly as excited or nervous as I was before, especially the first time.

I know what kind of birth I want (same as the last two times) and I don't need to buy any stuff, so there doesn't seem so much to think about, at least until the scan.

I am also a bit worried about how other people are going to react when we tell them. There seems to be a general view that wanting 4 children must make us mad.

Hope I am not alone?!

Count, still sounds like you must need good management skills! What work do you do?

Hi Spring please do keep posting Smile - hope DD3 is better soon.

COD I had a big baby last time too... and would be happy if this one were just a bit smaller! Hope swab goes well.

Right, this thread is taking ages to open on my laptop (probably our weak broadband connection) so I am going to start a new, lighter one!

Welcome Count, congratulations and hope your pregnancy goes well, difficult with the SPD I am sure. How old are your DC and are they looking forward to the baby?

Seymore based on my sweeps I think you'll be fine getting the bus home (how long is the journey?). It is a bit uncomfortable at the time, and you might get a few pains, but it doesn't start labour instantly. All the same, best to keep your phone handy and DH / a good friend on standby at the other end of the phone just in case. Good luck!

ALL - this thread is getting quite large and is taking ages to load up - would you like to move to a new one?

Congratulations Shelly you sound like you had a nice birth.(If birth can ever be nice)

5kids Glad you are home hope things carry on getting better for you and you can really start to enjoy baby and the rest of your dc.
,
Welcome Count

I know we will not be having any more children and with the sickness, anemia and general pregnancy issues I don't want to do this again. However the other day I looked at my little bump and said to dh "this is it I will never do this again" the thought of this made me a littleSad

Congratulations Shelly! Welcome baby Tommy.

5kids so glad you are home now, I hope that's it for you and hospitals now!

Yay Count congratulations! I hope the SPD isn't too bad. 7 DCs in the house... earplugs?!

annelid Sorry to hear about the transverse lie, hopefully baby will move before your next check. Did they recommend anything for you to try?

Saw the midwife yesterday, they've booked me in for a sweep next Wednesday, I'll be 37 weeks so not sure how successful it will be but I'm so uncomfortable now it's worth a try. I'm a little bit nervous, I'm planning to get the bus home on my own afterwards (don't want to drive/park in central sydney) is this a bad idea? I've never actually had a sweep!

Welcome count wow you have got your hands full already! I feel like I can barely cope sometimes with 3! Although that's probably because I'm 30 weeks pg and hormonal and cranky!

Congratulations Shelly! Thanks That is wonderful news, a warm welcome to baby Tommy. And 11.11.12 is a pretty memorable birth date, too.

5kids so glad to hear you're home, hope you continue to get better. How good to have your Mum to take the two toddlers, so you get a bit of time with Harry and a bit more time to rest.

annelid iron at 12.6 at 34 weeks is amazing... I always have worryingly low iron early on which probably goes some way towards dizzy fits in the supermarket as per my last post!

5kids I even asked about sterilisation at my first mw appointment, she said maybe we should actually have the baby before going down that route Confused mind you she was pretty shocked to see me back as I was so clear that last time was the 'last' time tee hee!

Congratulations shelly That sounds like a pretty quick birth! I also thought no. 4 was my last baby - I would not have believed anyone if they had told me we would have got to no.5 Shock - all I can say is alcohol is responsible for a lot of things in our house Grin

apple I also know how you feel about not being nostalgic about anything to do with this pregnancy. I feel like I have been dragging myself around for the whole 9 months, and just doing the minimum to keep everything going with the other kids. Especially after the birth this time, had DH not already had the snip he would have been at the docs demanding it by now - there is no way I could go through another pregnancy and birth like this one Sad

Yay Shelley massive congratulations! That's such a lovely name and it even sounds like it wasn't too awful! Here's hoping we can all have easy labours :)

5kids glad to hear your home with Harry. Hope bp under control for good now and you can enjoy him.

At this point I can't imagine feeling nostalgic about this pregnancy. I spent my last pregnancy noting every 'last', I'm afraid this time I'm just fed up. I like it when they're babies though so can imagine being a bit sad knowing there won't be anymore (and there won't be anymore - dp is not allowed to even sneeze near me without contraception!) Grin

Hello, sorry I didn't update yesterday but ...............

Pootractions started about 3am yesterday morning, had a few rabbit droppings and got back into bed. Had some more rabbit droppings about 4am, then just decided to get up, was thinking, 'is this it?', then thinking not because although coming quite regular, they weren't that strong and more like pootractions.

Had a CRACKING one at 5.55am, called midwife, she arrived about 6.40, I was 6-7cm, next midwife arrived around 7am, I was beginning to bear down. All this time hubby was frantically trying to fill the pool with pans of hot water because we'd used all the hot water. Finally managed to get in!

Tommy Dylan Angus born at 8.05 weighing 7lb 3oz, very easy birth and all drug free. Have already had about 7 black pooey nappies and have been wee'd on Grin

Thanks for your thoughts everyone.

5Kids So glad you're back home, it must have been horrible!
