Pregnant with no. 3 / 4 / 5...?!

Just wondering if anyone else is pg with their 3rd, 4th, 5th, or more?!

I am newly pg with baby number 4 and finding it a bit different this time.

Yesterday I flicked through a couple of magazines but the content didn't seem that relevant to me. I am quietly happy but not nearly as excited or nervous as I was before, especially the first time.

I know what kind of birth I want (same as the last two times) and I don't need to buy any stuff, so there doesn't seem so much to think about, at least until the scan.

I am also a bit worried about how other people are going to react when we tell them. There seems to be a general view that wanting 4 children must make us mad.

Hope I am not alone?!

The pregnancy thread has been busy today, we'd disappeared off onto the second page so thought I'd add a bit and give us a bump. Pardon the pun....

4kids I had yet more cramping type pains this afternoon - while trying to nap, that'll teach me! But again completely wore off. Like you say I wouldn't mind but when it starts for real I doubt I'll believe my own body!

COD very glad to hear you were given the all clear.

I've reached that point, you know when you feel everyone is waiting for you and you're holding them all up somehow? Only 2 days over EDD but feeling under pressure!!! Everytime I twitch with my SPD mil looks at me expectantly - no, not a contraction just a pain in my hip/back/leg......

It dawned on me on Friday that although DD2 was only 4 days over EDD she was actually 9 days over by my dates (as was DD1) so that would mean this one not putting in an appearance til Monday 29th. Sigh.

cherrypiew3 · 23/10/2012 15:29

Cod Glad you are ok.

Welcome Slightly and congratulations.

Moon The waiting is awful I went over by 2 weeks with all 3 so fully expecting to do the same. Just take this time to rest if you can.

33+1 today and feeling very tired the dc are on half term this week dh is also off and we have been busy trying to sort out some jobs around the house.

ShellyBobbs · 23/10/2012 16:33

Moon And the dragging yourself anywhere, do you rock from side to side a bit more everyday? I remember I did when I went over Grin There is a full moon due on the 28th I think and birth is apparently linked to that?

MoonHare · 23/10/2012 16:48

Rock from side to side??? I am like a ship in full sail!!! I walk with a distinct roll due the SPD anyway and it's sooo bad now. I am one of those stereotypical huffing, puffing, swaying pregnant women who has to make an 'uughh' sound everytime I stand/sit/climb a step.

Just seen my mw who said she was sure I would deliver last weekend. Mind you she said I looked 'different' today, like a woman soon to give birth I asked??

Baby has moved from LOA to ROA since last Tues and I can feel lots of fingery type wriggling low down in front. Stupidly looked at 'spinningbabies' and have scared myself that baby is now in fact back to back.

28th could be auspicious shelley considering my name, maybe little moon is waiting for the big moon......

ShellyBobbs · 23/10/2012 16:51

Oooohhhh maybe Moon I hate it when the midwife says anything like that, you take any little snippet they can give Grin

LimeLeafLizard · 23/10/2012 17:51

Smile at the thought of the little Moon waiting for the big moon. Hope baby comes sooner than next weekend though - it is so frustrating going overdue. Like Cherry I have been overdue by two weeks, but only twice, as with DS2 I went into labour promptly on my due date (if only he were as prompt getting his school shoes on in the morning!)

Shelly yes the MWs seem to be expert at dangling hopeful comments just out of reach!

Cod that sounds like a worrying weekend, glad it is all OK now though.

Thinking of you, 4kids ....

Hi guys I'm still here, just waiting.......

I wonder if something is happening for 4kids though, it's been a little while since she was around.

How's everyone else doing?

LimeLeafLizard · 24/10/2012 23:30

Hello Moon, thinking of you in your waiting. I have thought that (my) pregnancies have lasted 36 weeks and 36 days - because each of those last 36 days feels like it is a week long. I guess you're at that stage now!

I have had a tiring day and am feeling a bit crappy... off to bed shortly.

FX we'll hear from 4kids soon with good news.

Have a relaxing night - or better still some labour action!

4kidsplusbump · 25/10/2012 08:30

Morning everyone,

Unfortunately still here! Had a more eventful day yesterday though as at my midwife appointment in the morning. Have had protein in urine for the last couple of weeks now, and BP was up so spent all afternoon waiting at the hospital! They have said possible blood tests are showing possible kidney problems, but BP wasn't quite as high at hospital, so got to go back for more checks this afternoon - so probably another load of waiting around Hmm.

On the plus side DH has taken today off work and is now off all next week for kids halfterm - so praying we will have a baby by that time!

Moon I think my baby is actually due after the date they gave me on the scan, as the dates they gave are a week before it could be, based on when DH and I DTD in the first place Grin so I'm thinking we could be in for a longer wait than I initially expected!

SeymoreInOz · 25/10/2012 08:36

Just checking in. Thinking of moon and 4kids, hopefully the wait is almost over!

I'm 34 weeks now and was having really painful braxton hicks all day yesterday, I've only had a couple today though. Has anyone else experienced them constantly? I was starting to worry!

Sorry if this has been done to death, but what have you got in your hospital bags? And how much of each thing? For example, I've put in a pack of 10 maternity pads, do I need more? I can't remember anything!

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 25/10/2012 08:57

seymore I can't remember anything about packing Blush one pack would be ok if you've some at home for someone to bring if you stay longer than planned ?

AppleCrumples · 25/10/2012 09:54

seymore I had heaps of quite strong braxton hicks with dd who was born 40 + 5. Already getting loads again now and only 27 weeks.

4kidsplusbump · 25/10/2012 11:57

seymore I have had loads of contractions on and off for weeks now with this one - and still no baby to show for it! When I was at the hospital yesterday some were showing up on the CTG trace, so definately not imagining it!

On the maternity pads I think I have put 2 or 3 packs in - and have about 10 packs totally at home. I seem to remember needing about 3 times the amount that I thought I did previously of the dam things! Other than that have a couple of pairs of PJ's for me, 3 or 4 sleep suits vests ect for baby and 1 pack of nappies - have instructed DH where the rest of the new baby stuff is, so he can bring more stuff depending on how long we stay in!

ShellyBobbs · 25/10/2012 16:32

Seymore When I was 30 weeks I had Braxton Hicks for 14 hours straight and it was a UTI so maybe get that checked? I've actually been having strong Braxton Hicks from before that though.

4kids when is your due date?

4kidsplusbump · 25/10/2012 16:46

Due 6th Nov. Bp still high so now been admitted at hospital but just seen the doc who is not keep 4 induction until 40 weeks unless completely necessary! Just desperate 4 this baby 2 b born now and really hoping we don't have 2 wait another 2 weeks!

MoonHare · 25/10/2012 17:41

Hey 4kids at least you'll get to rest in the hospital I suppose (tries to look on bright side...). Hope your BP drops though and things turn out the way you most want them to.

Needless to say, no news here. Will now admit to feeling completely fed up. Tired, uncomfortable, puffing up, can't stop eating chocolate, SPD giving me hell in the night - can't complain during the day though, not too bad. Sigh. I want baby to come when it's ready but I just really, really want it to be ready tonight!!!!

MIL leaving on Sat am. I'm feeling guilty and my Mum is now fretting about how much she might/might not have to pack as they're due to arrive on Sat when MIL goes. She usually spends weeks planning what to pack when they visit.....

Seymore even though hoping for home birth I've got a bag packed - well, it keeps everything I'll need in one place and it's there 'just in case'. I've only put one pack of 10 pads in, when DD1 was born in hospital I remember them giving me pads. Also if in hospital DH will be sent home at some point so he can bring in more plus anything else I need/have forgotten. Have also packed a lightweight dressing gown, big t-shirt for giving birth in, two mat nighties, pack of nappies, 2 babygros, 2 vests, 2 baby blankets, towels, socks, change of clothes, biscuits, lucozade, wash bag and make up essentials - can't remember anything else off hand but am thinking of things I've forgotten to pack - like a hair brush!

ShellyBobbs · 25/10/2012 22:48

4kids Well you'll be resting at least, but it's the waiting that's the worst thing. Fingers crossed for a swift arrival.

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 26/10/2012 05:34

Good luck 4kids

SeymoreInOz · 26/10/2012 05:50

Oh no 4kids how frustrating, I hope your BP comes down and baby puts in an appearance very soon!

Moon I really hope the full moon gets things going. It worked for me with DD, I was 38 weeks and my water broke on the night of the full moon. In fact, so many women went into labour that night they closed both of our nearest maternity units Shock. If nothing happens this weekend could you have a sweep?

Thanks for all the hospital bag tips, that's a good idea to set aside extras and let DH know where they are. If I asked him to just grab stuff he would probably bring me a cocktail dress and a sack for the baby...

The braxton hicks have calmed down a lot now. I didn't think about UTI but it's a definite possibility, I can't empty my bladder properly now, I've tried leaning back but nothing helps! I'll mention it to the midwife next week.

MoonHare · 26/10/2012 16:36

Still nothing. Starting to worry this is going to go to the wire.

Sooooo don't want to have to go to hospital. Really want to avoid any kind of interference, even a sweep, but I only have 3 days left before CMW will no longer be happy to support a home birth.

4kids how are you? Hope BP has dropped.

4kidsplusbump · 26/10/2012 16:41

Quick update - bp seems to be more stable now. Still in hospital and waiting to see consultant. Doc I saw this morning said they may decide 2 induce anyway as I am past 38 weeks, but will be up to the consultant. Extra fed up and bored now, just really want this baby 2 be born now!

AppleCrumples · 26/10/2012 18:16

Good luck 4kids hopefully it will all be over soon and you'll have a lovely baby. As someone said above at least you can get some rest in hospital!

Fingers crossed for things to get moving soon moon

let's hope we have some babies soon!

I feel like this pregnancy is dragging now! I'm tired and slow and achey (and moany). The kids have broken up for half term now and it feels like next week will be a long slog :(. Have bought lots of crafty type stuff so hopefully will keep them busy and ds1 needs to make a Tudor house model as well

hope everyone else is ok x

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 26/10/2012 18:29

I've felt like this pregnancy has always dragged. Think it was the extra 8 weeks at the start ( no dates meant I was somewhere between 5 and 13 weeks- was 5 [gutted])

AppleCrumples · 26/10/2012 18:48

ood that's pretty crap! I keep reading about people who find out when they're quite far along. Even my SIL announced a few weeks ago that having gone for a scan because she was having wierd stomamch pains she was pregnant and due a few weeks after me! Am really Envy as she passed through the horrible bit without even noticing whilst I was so sick I ended up in hospital! How far are you now ood?

OoooOoooOoood · 26/10/2012 18:58

19 weeks huge bump so everyone thinks I'm further and crutches
