Morning ladies
Well I have had a groovy night. Fell asleep at 10 ish and woken up at 11:52 by period pains, midwife checked and yes operation Dylan is indeed underway. Not slept since and pains have increased but I am managing by timing them with my phone and I know that after 30 seconds they start to die off and I get a break. So focusing on them ending. I have also been counting them . How random I know , so far had 109 contractions since 12 ish. I still have the thing up my muff and they r going to check it at the end of the 24 hours. so at 2 this afternoon.
Ladies thanks for all your kind thoughts and wishes. Baby Dylan should show his little face today, How weird I will be a mummy later

Midget - Hope u r ok after your sweep and have avoided work

Fireflies - So thrilled to see you on again. Glad baby fireflies is well, how the time flys eh. Defo on the grad thread. Could not ask for a better group of ladies.

I will report more later, heres ti drugs and lots of em . hugs to all xxx
ps - Forgot to tend to lady garden so they may need to nip to b&q and get a hedge trim so Dylan can get out .

knickyknocks · 03/10/2012 07:31

Sorry for the lengthy absence, we went away for a few days which included a trip to Peppa Pig world - DD was entranced.

Gosh so much going on in this thread!

lrm you'll be a fantastic mummy and you will cope with the labour. It's weird bit when you're on the throes of it your body just gets on with it. Ask for pain relief if you need it. We're here holding your hand. Very soon you'll have your bundle of joy safe in your arms.

fireflies lovely to hear from you. 14 weeks already? Gosh it's already passing so quickly.

I'm OK, though had a weird painful sensation in the wee small hours of the morning. Not able to explain it except that think it was a muscular pain. That said, have woken this morning to find a few old spots of blood in my pants this morning - think I better check in with the early pregnancy unit just in case. Trouble is they don't open til 11.30. Hey ho I'm sure it's all fine. Bloody pregnancy is always a worry isn't it?

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 07:35

LRM classy as usual. Love the reference to the muff and hedge trimmers! You take care now, and big love to you x

knottyhair · 03/10/2012 08:05

LRM, lovely to hear from you. You'll be fine my love, it won't be long now. Knickyknocks, definitely get it checked out although as you say I'm sure it's all fine.
Looking forward to lots of babies arriving today Smile!

somewherebecomingrain · 03/10/2012 08:20

knicky i had bleeding at 13/14 weeks with DS - i remember it well and one thing i have been thinking this time round is i'm not going to get too freaked out by that again. it's normal - don't most women have a bleed at some point? thinking of you, sure it will be fine, def get all the medical attention.

lrm amazing to get mumsnet-reportage from the frontline. the panic is awful. there are almost no words for it. Life at it's source is raw stuff. but it all sounds like it's well on track. Also glad to hear about your la di dah ensuite bathroom - that's going to be very important later!

eagleray · 03/10/2012 09:37

Argh typed a long message then lost it before sending - crappy iPad!

Am watching over you all from my poolside lounger - baby eagleray enjoying the snorkelling, swimming and eating but not the hairpin bends in these crazy Greek roads it would seem.

Cannot retype everything but wishing those in hospital lots of love and luck and a pain-free(ish) time!

Hope the rest of you are ok - thinking of you all x

Hpbp · 03/10/2012 09:44

Quick one to Nervous RM, hope Dylan is in your arms now, if not keep breathing out when you have a contraction and open your perineum as if it was a red carpet to welcome baby Dylan. Holding your hand, and holding Anastasia too as she feeds.

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 10:35

knicky I bled with all three. With the third I did not even bother getting it checked out. Old blood is preferable, and hopefully it will ease up. Deffo get it checked out if you will worry.

Waves to Hp and eagle (jealous)

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 13:07

knottyhair · 03/10/2012 13:18

Welcome to the world baby Fjord Smile!

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 13:21

I want my baby now!

Hpbp · 03/10/2012 14:57

VQ, I can see you getting excited :) ... come on, your turn is not so far away
Fjord, hope you are OK, congrats and welcome Baby Fjord to this wonderful and strange world
FF, happy to hear from you, you make me feel less lonely, yes please open a new thread for graduates, I am with you and there will be some more ladies joining us soon, I am pretty sure
Eagleray, I am speechless, so envious of your relaxing time
Knicky, how are you feeling ? no new bleeding ?

xxxxxxxxxx to all

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 14:58

22 sleeps

eagleray · 03/10/2012 16:25

Omg - a baby!!! Massive congrats to fjord - sounds like it was pretty arduous but fantastic that baby F finally here

Hoping the other labours are going smoothly...

Have spent the afternoon fast asleep in my pool lounger, under a shelter on the beach, constructed from driftwood and a black groundsheet. It was heaven! (DP comes into his own when it comes to primitive living)

knicky - hope you have had some reassurance from the hospital now

littleredmonkey · 03/10/2012 17:12

Fjord - Baby F arrived xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sending huge hugs and kisses.

LIVE FROM LINCOLN HOSPITAL:
Still having contractions from hell now been at it since 11:52 last night. I had another internal a few moments ago to check the devise is doing its job and they want to keep it in another 6 hours and then the consultant wants to see if my waters can be broken,I am 1cm dilated but need to be two for them to break my waters. if so I will go upto the labour ward, if not they will remove the devise and let me rest for a day and then put in another one and we start all over again. Big brown poo . I have been told the chap doing my internal has big hands so the midwife is going to bring me some gas and air. ladies think of me at 8 this evening.

valium - Not long twinkle x

Knicky - U ok honey ?

knottyhair · 03/10/2012 17:56

LRM, thinking of you my love. Knicky, are you alright? x

ValiumQueen · 03/10/2012 18:20

LRM normally a man with big hands would be a good thing Grin. You are doing a fine job. Induction can be a bugger. Even if you are not dilating, it will be thinning. Hang in there x

knickyknocks · 03/10/2012 18:51

Thank you all for asking and the reassuring replies re bleeding. Saw the EPU this afternoon. They explained old blood is far better than new blood. I had a scan and baby looks fine. I had to have an anti d jab but that's all. So all good. It was lovely to have your reassuring messages.

lrm keep going honey. The man with the big hands makes me want to cross my legs but it must be better than someone doing a half hearted job of it. Like VQ said inductions are hard going but thinning is happening all the while which is positive. Will be thinking of you at 8 love.

fjord wonderful fantastic news about baby fjord. Congratulations honey. So glad to hear of the safe arrival of your little one.

VQ hang in there. 22 sleeps will go quickly now. D day will be here before you know it.

eagleray the holiday sounds idyllic with that poolside lounger. Enjoy every well deserved second.

Much love to all xxx

Hpbp · 03/10/2012 19:00

LRM, I can still remember vividly my contractions and I am 200% with you and you can squeeze my hand as hard as you wish. As said before, ask for epidural if you feel like, no shame, it is about you and your body. Hope the cervix getting thinner and baby Dylan ready to meet his parents !
Midget, what have you decided in the end ? Will you work after the sweep ? Take it easy.
Firstbubba, any news ? Hope your silence means you already have your bundle of joy in your arms.
Warm wishes to all.

MrsWooster · 03/10/2012 20:23

good luck LRM... like Hp says, have whatever you need - your body will run this operation according to itself and epidural or whatever is just a different better way of coping - sez the woman who had the full whale-music-and-lavender-oil birth plan and then made a proper show of herself begging for an epidural when DS turned out to be back to back!

Midgetm · 03/10/2012 22:20

So tired I just wanted to run in and say...

knicky I also had lots of brown blood episodes - last one started at 16 weeks and all was well. Hope you are ok.

LRM you must be knackered honey - hope you get to rest again before round 2.

Fjord if you are reading this I squish you and baby fjord. Sounds like it was really hard going, hope you are ok with all the extra fibroid and GD shit you had to deal with too - all added complications but you have still remained positive.

HP I am still aiming to work after my sweep but seemingly increasingly dump. Boss just scheduled a teleconference for an hour after it.... May just go off sick if it's all too much. I am so over work.

I am with VQ, it is time to meet my baby, I am cooked! Night all. X

scarecrow22 · 03/10/2012 23:23

Too tired to hold iPad almost, and I'm not in labour! Wanted to add many friendly congratulations to Fjord, strong thoughts to LRM, relieved sighs for KK (and actually great to read turned out well in case it ever happens to me) and best wishes to First.
Goodnight ladies

somewherebecomingrain · 04/10/2012 08:46

lrm wishing you luck - these ladies who've just had birth/had natural birth/had lots of births are better placed to advise you - they seem to know what they are talking a bout - i'm just going to say good luck!

wonder what's going on with firstbubba. it's not a requirement to be mumsnetting during labour so i'm sure she's fine but i hope we get an update at some point.

fjord's quiet. i wonder what can possibly have distracted her from mumsnet.

i am feeling sick again. Angry. really pissed off with it.

but anyway mustn't grumble.

10000Fireflies · 04/10/2012 09:31
