ps thanks for all the support with the combined test results. i am going to go ahead with a scan at the FMC tomorrow, partly cause i just want to see the baby again so much. i kept trying to dial up to cancel and i just couldn't go through with it. My DP said you want to so much, just do it.

knicky are you keeping it secret until 5 months? My sis did that and she totally got away with it. Poss people just think you look a bit tubby... My sis was sure everyone was checking her out but they hadn't been.

yes my tray rocks.

Cadmum - Glad the scan went well, it is the most amazing experience to see your little un moving about. Mine in moving like crazy today, he has truely run out of space now and think he needs out very very soon. Due date only 8 days away. Friend texted me this morning and her waters broke at 3 this morning and by 6 she is in hospital and 7 cm dilated.

Eagleray - thanks for the warm wishes xx

Fylord & Firstbubba - hows ya doing ladies, I keep waking up expecting my waters to break. I am a nervous littleredmonkey

somewherebecomingrain · 26/09/2012 15:42

seaside of course - you were there when i joined the thread!

i still feel sick. so sick of feeling sick. it is better but i just want it gone.

today i felt a brief sense that a capuccino wouldn't make me puke. that's progress. i normally can't get enough of the stuff.

xx

clickingtock · 26/09/2012 15:44

Childbirth seems such a lottery. My heart goes out to anyone who has had a tough time like VQ. I think if your first time tells you to go for ECLS then go for it, as the anxiety of going down a more unknown route isn't worth it.

I was lucky that I got the birth I dreamed of and feel extremely grateful and aware that it's a sensitive subject for the majority.

And who knows if I'll get lucky second time round. You really never can tell.

I think I'm due about 10 days before Eagle on the list not that it matters! Expecting a late one anyway; scan brought me forward to 3 Jan but don't trust scans.

Sick as a dog here too Somewhere. Bug. Hope you feel better.

Sending great vibes for all those Oct babies. What a joy; can't wait to hear your news ladies.

Xxxx

somewherebecomingrain · 26/09/2012 15:49

thanks clock i am making too much fuss i guess.
so you are about 5 months along and still sick? you are an absolute trooper.

clickingtock · 26/09/2012 15:50

Oooooh so sorry missed a last chunk of posts - huge Congrats on baby Seaside. Brilliant. Xxxxxxxx

littleredmonkey · 26/09/2012 16:14

Somewhere - Did you manage the cappuccino? If you did hope it was lovely. Hope you feel better soon

Click - Hope your bug clears up quickly , sucks when you are not well especially when your are pregnant. I have a sore throat and hoping it goes over night

Evening to all xxx

ValiumQueen · 26/09/2012 16:26

Huge congratulations seaside hope you are both doing well today. Looking forward to hearing all the juicy details when you are ready. Have some pate for me Grin

somewherebecomingrain · 26/09/2012 16:37

VQ capucinno is an aspiration rather than a plan right now. i did manage to eat some dark choc without thinking 'why?' which is a change.

click did you mean bug as an expression of frustration preferable to b-gg-r or that ou have a bug? if so my sympathies - double sickness so bad.

seaside yes want all the details!

FjordMor · 26/09/2012 17:46

Sorry I've been a bit AWOL ladies - how are you all?

Welcome to littlepink :).

bytheseaside - what a lovely shock!? :) How are you all doing? Great to hear that you're healing well and that she's doing well despite being a littlely!

I have been reading and catching up on your posts whenever I get a moment (still getting the hospital bag together and other last minute stuff, madly Blush) but time to post has been short. However I did want to add that somewhere - I was given a combined nuchal result of 1:1200 and was told by the sonographer that I should be 'really chuffed' as that's 'nice and low - just like a 20 year old' :). I was offered the opportunity of an amnio, as I think it's protocol, but with the caveat that she didn't see any earthly reason why I should. It's a good result. I do however relate to never feeling assured about anything in the early stages. I hope you're feeling more confident about it now, anyway.

So pleased you had a lovely scan cadmum. I remember my 12 week scan was such a wonderful experience :) but so much to fear beforehand.

lrm - I know what you mean about waters!! To add insult to injury, at my MW appt yesterday I was diagnosed with UTI and thrush Blush and had to go up to the doc. Now everything feels gushy/trickly - I'm having so many false alarms per day... also MW said if my waters break before contractions I should 'lie down and get to hospital immediately' - which I tried to explain to her might be impossible if I was in a shopping centre and that DP can't drive. I'm so it's b***ks though as none of my other expectant/mum friends here has ever heard the like...

clickingtock - hope you feel better soon - bugs in pregnancy are horrid.

to VQ, eagleray & Hpbp - when are you back off to London?

ValiumQueen · 26/09/2012 18:28

How do you lie down and get to hospital? An ambulance I am guessing. Odd advice.

FjordMor · 26/09/2012 18:33

Exactly what I thought VQ!! I think I'll be taking that one with a pinch of salt...

littleredmonkey · 26/09/2012 19:07

Fjord - Oh lord honey UTI and thrush, I have stopped worry about myself about my waters breaking and thinking of you. Bless ya, how bloody uncomfortable must you be. Have they given you anything to help with the thrush. Cant even imagine how painful that must be as us pregnant ladies never seem to be off the loo. Sending you huge hugs and hope it clears up before Monday. My friends hubby cant drive either so when she started her contractions she had to drive herself and had to stop loads of times while she was in pain and when it died down for a minute she drove like mad then stopped again. Hubbys job was to apply the handbrake as and when. Partner wont let me drive this next week . He is hoping to have to rush me to the hopsital and have a police escort if stopped for speeding or thinks the air ambulance may pick me up as we live in a small village. Honestly what is he like, though i do like the idea of the air ambulance. ha hah.

Off for an early night as I have a painful headache and slept like crap last night so hopefully get a better one this evening.

Waves and hugs to all, those that dont feel great feel better in the morning xxx

clickingtock · 26/09/2012 20:06

Oh dear, some poorly ladies today. So unfair to gave a UTI as well as thrush. Poor you.

I have just stopped being sick, finally. I have had all my MS squashed into one day at 25wks preggo so I can't complain tho it feels v odd hugging a toilet with a bump in the way. MS must be a nightmare. I know Knicky had a rough tri1 this time. Hard going when you have a tiddler to look after.

TTFN all you ladies. Xxx

Hpbp · 26/09/2012 20:14

Somewhere, clickingtock, a friend of mine lost 7kg in her first trimester because of MS, then she managed to keep a few things down for 2 months and felt nausea again for the rest of the pg. All in all she put on 5kg and we could barely see her bump. No need to say that 10 days after she gave birth to a 2.800kg baby measuring 51cm, she was back in her pre pg clothes... Grrrrrr !!! I keep my fingers crossed for you both that it will leave you soon.

Fjord, LRM, firstbubba, I can only wish you a small tiny but noticeable leak that would give you plenty of time to get to hospital peacefully and have contractions starting when inside. It happened to me the first time and serenity was my 2nd name then, I was miles away from panic, pain or labour. I was lucky. VQ, if I had had your appalling experience the first time, I am not sure I would have had the courage to go through it again, and you did, not once but twice with this 3rd baby, bravo !

Fjord, hope you feel better soon, poor thing. You should be taking advantage of the last week of pg to stock on sleep and rest. Wise move LRM on the early night, sleep is the best cure...

I am going to bed too. Exhausted after a full day with the 2 lovely kids, Wed is the day for all kind of appointments for the kids, doctors, dentist, ID... Has anyone tried to take a picture of an 8 week old baby with the following criteria : baby should hold its head unaided Of course ! That is very easy (if head is held, fingers should not be visible!), eyes should be opened, both ! Mouth must be shut, both ears must be visible ? It took me the whole day to get these pics right but without them, no ID and I won't be able to leave the country with Anastasia. Now I have to wait for about 6 to 8 weeks and then I can go back to London.

Took Anastasia to see an osteopath last week. Very glad I did because she now moves her head freely on both sides and it takes no time to burp her after a feed. Before the appointment, she was sleeping always on the left even if she could move her head from left to right but had a tendency to lie on her left side and burping her would take forever and I could see she was uncomfortable with some crying. MW also gave me homeopathy for tiredness, I don't know if it will work on me but Anastasia slept from 3.20pm to 7pm, shame I could not nap too :)

Night night everyone

Midgetm · 26/09/2012 21:43

Ford I am blowing raspberries at your UTI and thrush to send it on it's way. I have been plagued by both this pregnancy but at least they have had the decency not to come together (Thrush is always the result of the antibiotics I use to get rid of the UTI - a charming cycle). Of course the UTI can make you contract which is the last thing you want so close to the real deal as it all gets too confusing!

Still blown away that bytheseaside has gone and had her baby. SO many coming soon.

Clickintock Sorry you have been having a pukefest - I also feel very glad I did not have it too badly with this pregnancy as it makes things so much harder.

Right I must sleep - infact I already nearly am asleeep so I am joining LRM for an early night not literally as that is weird.

Sweep likely on 9th, don't finish working till the 12th Hmm may need to rethink that. Official finish date not till the 19th - def need to rethink that. Suddenly realised I am having a baby soon. oh fuck

bytheseaside · 26/09/2012 23:00

thanks for all the good wishes . it was all a bit sudden and expected, had just moved house, and was feeling ok until it happened... apparently my early contractions were stressing her out. felt a bit shellshocked after all the drama but holding her is indescribably wonderful :) prem baby unit is not what anyone would choose, but they are good. just can't bear to leave her. luckily im not discharged yet from hospital, so have been making trips to see her in the middle of the night in pjs. it all feels a bit like being at boarding school ( i imagine) complete with school dinner food, matrons to tell you off and sneaking boyfriend into ward late for midnight feasts. reading all your news while i sit at the breast pump!

eagleray · 26/09/2012 23:17

Lovely to hear from you bytheseaside - it must have have been very stressful at the time, but so glad all has turned out well.

I'm glad you are coping well with the hospital - I don't blame you for not wanting to leave her.

Hopefully you will get to take her home soon - how big is she? All day I have been thinking/worrying about how you wouldn't have had a chance yet to order that cot from Germany - I guess it is probably far from your mind though! Although if you do still need to get it, I will do all I can to help re translation.

Goodnight, and hope you have a lovely night with baby, boyfriend, breastpump and midnight feasts! x

Midgetm · 27/09/2012 06:12

bytheseaside great to hear more from you. DD was a little one and we spent 2 weeks in after she was born. So I feel for you strapped to the pump. Gives me a big feeling of deja vu. I spent most of my time listening to the industrial pump and then it took 2 seconds for the food to go up her nose and into the tube. Miraculously though she did take to BF in the end, I had support from a lovely breast feeding volunteer and eventually I could discard the pump. Makes you feel like a bloody cow though doesn't it? Sounds like a rather dramatic entrance to the world but with a good outcome. The things done people will do to get out of unpacking boxes eh? Stay in touch with her progress and big hugs from the old bird for baby Bytheseaside x

littleredmonkey · 27/09/2012 10:12

Morning ladies
Advise needed please small thing but thought I would ask. Woke up constantly last night with headache and still have the bugger now, so been 15 hours with it, been drinking lots of water and trying to sleep but quite painful. I have not taken any medication. Last time I took any medication was in June . May seem like the dumb question of the day but will be ok to take a couple of paracetamol? I also feel a little bit sick I am so hoping i am not coming down with anything.

ValiumQueen · 27/09/2012 10:21

Paracetamol is fine in pregnancy, just make sure you do not exceed the usual dose, and be aware it is in lemsips etc. bit concerned about your headache though - any flashing lights or swelling? May just be another germ, but if you have any of those symptoms too, best get BP checked. If you are passing GP clinic or wherever, it would not hurt to get it checked anyway..

Do not take Brufen, or products containing it, or anything stronger without seeking medical advice. I am sure I am telling you how to suck eggs, sorry.

Hope you are soon feeling better x

knottyhair · 27/09/2012 10:43

LRM, totally agree with VQ, paracetamol is fine in pregnancy but not a lot else is!

Bytheseaside, lovely to hear more about your beautiful DD's arrival. DS was in SCBU but only for 24 hours and I hated it.
Midget, I know what you mean about it all becoming a bit real!
Hpbp, glad the osteopath helped Anastasia. We took DS to a cranial osteopath when he was tiny and the colic he was suffering with disappeared almost immediately. Will do the same with Rosa if she has any problems.
Have a lot of hip & back pain today, not sure if it's overdoing it a bit yesterday (lugging boxes around, clearing out what will be Rosa's room) or just normal stuff for this stage (27+4). Have 28 wk scan and consultant appt on Monday so I'll mention it if it carries on. Have just lugged my old lady shopping trolley back from Waitrose so I'll try to take it a bit easier this afternoon I think. Hope everyone else is OK xx

Hpbp · 27/09/2012 11:05

Midget, why do you worry about when to finish work, if baby comes before the date you gave your employer, then mat leave starts. Do you have hols to take before due date ?
LRM, if it does not go away, can you see your GP ? If you have fever, seek immediately medical care, please. I won't say more for now.
Osteopathy is scary but if one trusts the practioner is good, it does work.
Seaside, glad you managed to move before the birth ! Keep us posted on Little baby Seaside progress. Hope both of you will be able to go home soon.
Knotty, take it easy, hope you can rest today so that the pain goes away quickly.

Very wet and cold today in Paris. But the good side of it is DS loves the rain and gets out to school much quicker in the morning !!! Weird little boy ! But why not ?
