Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NGPY · 08/01/2004 18:55

Hi Sibble, hope you are better today.

I have just been cheered up by the fact that I can have my weekly glass of wine tonight. Excellent.

M2T · 09/01/2004 11:59

lol NYGP!
I dunno if I could stop at one... that's the problem!
Thankfully I seem to have gone off wine and developed a taste for Champagne.... which I can't afford. PHEW!

Enjoy.

I think my body chemistry has changed, as I was very easily able to stop at one! Somehow it doesn't taste the same...

sibble · 09/01/2004 19:01

NGPY how I don't miss the tube - last time pregnant had to walk from Liverpool St to St pauls and back every day becasue just couldn't face tube and the croissant shop at iverpool St was a killer too. I used to take a deep breath going through the tunnel, try to hold it through the barrier and bolt out the station then breath!!
wine - usually I am a wine monster, when I wake up in the morning I think of my can of diet coke and my glass of wine. now the thought is quite stomach turning which DH tells me is a good thing!!
well, am still bleeding so have a scan booked for Monday at 9.30. it's going to be a long weekend but unless I have some very serious illness or the pregnancy is in my head!! I think I am still pregnant, there is no way I can be this sick and not pregnant. Last night I had to eat my dinner sitting outside the toilet, with frequent trips in, knew would feel better if could keep some down - it was all tooo much for Dh who went to the pub!!!!
Hope this baby is not as much trouble when it is born!!

Oh Sibble, that doesn't sound like much fun. Good luck with the scan.

eyelash · 11/01/2004 22:54

Sibble - how did the scan go?

sibble · 11/01/2004 23:08

Hi All
Had my scan this morning and although am still bleeding slightly they saw a heartbeat and everything looks OK. The bleeding is not affecting the baby but they don't know what is causing it either. Am so relieved.
Hope everybody else is well.

sibble · 11/01/2004 23:09

Forgot to say, my dates were spot on so am now 9 weeks and 6 days and baby due 10th August.

NGPY · 12/01/2004 07:36

eyelash · 12/01/2004 08:34

Brilliant news Sibble. Rest up and speak to you soon.

SpringChicken · 12/01/2004 08:47

Great News Sibble - make sure you keep your feet up and let DH do absolutely everything

M2T · 12/01/2004 12:05

Fantastic news Sibble!!!

I am 10wk + 3 today. And I FINALLY got a date for my scan. I had to phone for it though....
Wed 21st Jan. I dont' have a time yet, but it'll be morning.

My morning sickness seems to have totally disappeared now, which is both worrying and pleasing! &

I still have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth though! When does THAT go away??

Just got to wait 9 days to get my scan out of the way and hopefully I can make solid plans and relax a bit.

i'm really excited about my pregnancy. this is the first time i have conceived after 3 years, the last pregnancy ended up in a missed miscarriage.
i did a home test on 30th dec 03 and was so happy to find the test to be positive. my due date is 17th Aug 04, but my concern is that i may end up having a miscarriage again.

SpringChicken · 12/01/2004 12:37

Good news on your scan M2T - i'm so excited for you!

Try not to worry about the sickness - mine subsided around this time and trust me, it feels so good to not be ready to puke every 5 seconds.

DP and i were so bad at the weekend - went out and bought all our nursery bits - only things lef tto buy now are the big things like cot, drawers, changing unit etc I just couldn't contain myself in the shop, only went in to get a few bits and came out with the whole nursery range

P.S Hope no-one minds me popping in on this thread - the July thread is always empty and i just want to yak away all the time

M2T · 12/01/2004 13:17

Hi Toyiba - Are you new to Mumsnet? If so....welcome!

Congratulations on your pregnancy.... and what a New Year pressie! There is a thread somewhere that has loads of posters that are pregnant after a miscarriage or multiple miscarriages. I can't do the thread links, but search under "Miscarriage/Bereavement". I'm sure things will go well this time. How many weeks were you when you miscarried?

Thanks SC - I don't mind you popping into this thread..... afterall it's your 1st baby and you might hang on until August!!

LOL SC - I'm sure you'll deliver in July then. If it's any comfort to you my ds was born a week early after drinking copious amounts of raspberry tea at 38 wks.

OP posts:
SpringChicken · 12/01/2004 15:50

I really do think i'll give that a try M2T. Where do you get it from?

Not sure i'll to the lengths of castor oil though! !

S'pose all new mums are hopeful but for some reason i just have a feeling our little sprog is going to arrive 7th or 8th July

M2T · 12/01/2004 16:01

SC - I got mine in Holland & Barret. Any of the health food stores will sell it. In fact I saw in in the specialist tea aisle in Tesco last night! It does have a warning on it about drinking it in early pregnancy. I would start drinking it at 38wks.... that way you (hopefully)won't get any 'false starts' with your labour as it can irritate the uterus to contract apparently!

I had a 'feeling' that I would be late! Thank goodness I wasn't, it was VERY hot and sticky in the hospital and the woman next to me snored. I didn't sleep for 3 nights before going into labour! I was SHATTERED.

Quackers · 12/01/2004 16:08

Sibble that's great!
M2T, 9 more days and you'll see your wee babby!!!! Great stuff!!!
My sickness has faded now but still have dislikes for a lot of food. I'm really fussy what I eat. Somehow chocolate hasn't been affected!!! !
Jems, our thread is really quiet, don't know why! There aren't many of us due that time!

sibble · 12/01/2004 19:27

M2T, how exciting - the scan is one one of the highlights, yesterday I could see the babies two little arms and legs. If I hadn't felt so eurggh (1 litre of water and sickness doesn't go too well together!) and too relieved I would have cried...
Congrats Toyiba and welcome to the thread.
Springchicken lol castor oil - I drank castor oil last time, ate curries, did gardening, rubbed aromatherapy oils on abdomen etc. and the little * wouldn't budge. All the casotr oil did was make me feel sick and I got no sympathy from anybody!!!
Is anybody here having an amnio, triple test or anything - am struggling to get my head around them...

sweetkitty · 12/01/2004 21:33

hi first time on mumsnet

Due first baby 5th August 2004, conceived 12th November, makes me 10 weeks 4 days. Have escaped sickness and apart from boobs do not feel pregnant. Had bleeding last Tuesday and had scan, baby 100% fine they did not know why I was bleeding. Amazing to see it's face and it wriggling around. I'm all new to this so will be checking the boards out for advice.

M2T · 13/01/2004 09:01

Hi Sweetkitty - Welcome to Mumsnet! You are due the day before me.
The bleeding must have been a terrible worry for you. I am amazed at how common that is though, I had no idea until read on Mumsnet. Glad it all was okay. I'm sure you'll get loads of valuable advice from here, I know I have. Is this your 1st baby?
