Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

Well Peeps - I'm finishing work in about 15mins! YEEAAAAHH!!

I will try to get online as much as possible over the festive period to find out how everyone is doing!

Hope you all manage to keep your Christmas dinner down!

Well done Quackers.

sibble · 23/12/2003 18:45

Congrats xmasquackers - it is so reassuring to see them on the scan isn't it. Gladtidings - sorry about the sickness but it si a good sign isn't it?!?!
Well after my harrowing weekend, the bleeding has now virtually stopped but the cramping has definately stopped, so I am little more reassured. Have been totally incapacitated with nausea - DH says I am an unatractive grey colour 24 hours of the day but don't actually feel too bad today which is jsut as well or father christmas would not have had much to leave DS IYKWIM. So am off to the shops with DH in tow.
Have fantastic Christmas' everybody and look forward to chatting soon.

sibble · 23/12/2003 18:47

oh and for what it's worth was struggling to keep fluids down (only usually drink water and wine, the water wasn't sitting too well and the wine is a definate no no) but have discovered lemon barley water with lots of ice cubes - hits the spot.

milupa · 27/12/2003 05:46

Can I join in?
Don't know the due date yet. Have to go to GP.
But I wish I could be as Happy as you M2T.

jinglesaur · 27/12/2003 17:30

Hi Milupa and welcome!

sibble · 27/12/2003 18:57

Welcome Milupa
hope you all had a great christmas, here's to great new years too.

milupa · 27/12/2003 20:18

I worry so much about the whole thing.
I already have two dd and I already feel bad for not giving them enough attention and here will come a little bundle that will take me away from my dd's. I feel sorry for them. is this normal?

Welcome too Podmog, I have no idea timing wise how I am pregnant either, I guess that if it is meant to be, it is meant to be. All those months of trying then to be taken by suprise. Congratulations. I wasn't going to tell anybody until I was 12 weeks but DS started to tell everybody, shop keepers included, then I had to tell work as I was/am so sick and have been bleeding so had to take sick time, so gradually more and more people seem to know. I really like telling people and find it hard to keep quiet though (the fainting, grey palor and vomiting were also quite a give away!!) See how you go, you may find your body gives the game away.
I can only speak for myself Milupa but I too worry about having less time to spend with DS. He is 4 in Feb so has been used to having alot of my time and even the pregnancy to date has meant that I am limited with what we can do, but they cope. They are very resilient and although we tend to lie on the floor and do puzzles or cuddle and read books now rather than run about everywhere he seems to really enjoy it still.
Speak soon

Can I join in the nausea gang.

Still feel shocking! I really don't remember being this bad with ds but then I didn't have a toddler to run after!

Quacks - Thats wonderful news.

Podmog - CONGRATULATIONS!

Milupa - Its such an anxious time eh. I think that about ds, I work fulltime so think the time I do spend with him is very precious, now a little monster is going to take that away. I think it is quite normal and please try not to let it spoil the enjoyment (HA!!) of your pregnancy.

Sibble and Dino - sympathy to you both.... I am lucky in the respect that I'm not actually vomitting..... I have a stomach like lead! But the constant nausea is driving me insane. I will be 9weeks on Friday so hopefully I should only have another 3 weeks of this (OMG!).

I have resorted to eating whole piles of crap though..... I think I'll be approaching 26stone when August arrives. I can't help it if biscuits, crisps and cheesecake help the nausea.
Anyway... MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS!
And I hope you can keep your babysham down on hogmanay.

sibble · 31/12/2003 20:20

Eating like a horse to stave off the nausea but have managed to lose 8lb so far???
Guess there are more calaries in wine than I thought after all!!! That and the odd mad dashes to the bathroom!!!
Took Dh and Ds to New Years Eve party last night, thought did very well, lasted to 10.30 but when we got home suddenly struck me there was no justice in this world when i was completely sober (obviously), everybody else had tipped into the talking rubbish category and I would still feel worse than them in the morning and all today!!!
Here's a cyber toast to the magic 12 week mark for us all.

NGPY · 01/01/2004 10:54

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. I've got a bit a dilemma that I hope you might be able to help me with.

I've been feeling a little worried the past couple of days as my symptoms are much reduced, e.g nausea, tiredness, mood swings etc. I'm only 10 weeks and wouldn't have expected things to ease up for another few weeks based on past performance. I had a miscarriage earlier in the year and can't help feeling concerned now.

Do you think it would be out of order to go to EPU and ask for a scan? Would it be total time-wasting and squandering scarce NHS resources?

TIA.

NGPY, I'd read what Dinosaur says, too (in my NCT Book I think). But I guess with your recent sad history asking for an extra scan would be seen as understandable, rather than squandering resources. Good luck, whatever you decide...

sibble · 01/01/2004 19:59

I would ask too, either at an EPU or your GP. I had a m/c earlier this year and I am lucky my GP has said if I am worried to just go and let her know and she will write out a request form. I used to be a nurse and when you see the amount of 'legitimate' waste I think offering a scan for piece of mind is far from wasting NHS resources.
Hope everything is OK for you. But like others have said it would not be uncommon for symptoms to start to go around about now.
Good luck

Quackers · 02/01/2004 12:12

NGPY, I replied on July thread.
How's it going here! I'm 10 weeks 3 days and heard the heartbeat on New Years Eve! I was made up! Any scans coming up now? Hope you;re doing better Sibble??

milupa · 02/01/2004 19:33

I am still sulking.
I can't even bring myself to tell anyone.
I know that I don't have to for another month or so but they will probobly notice that something is wrong because I won't drink alcohol or coffee.
When I think now that I will be in my 8th and 9th month of pregnancy over the summer months when children will be off school this thought is absolutely killing me.

sibble · 02/01/2004 19:36

Hi quackers, good to hear from you. Must have been so reassuring to hear the heartbeat. I am really pleased things are going well for you. Apart from still suffering from terrible nausea 24/7 I am Ok. have decided to hand my notice in at work on Monday when re-opens and feel a weight lifted, just hope they don't make me work my notice period or let me back date it...we will see...
