Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

Aww good to hear everything going well m2t, I haven't heard a heartbeat yet, maybe at next appointment? Am still suffering from this cold which is making me really miserable.

Are you going to find out the sex at your anomoly scan?

sibble · 19/02/2004 18:50

Congrats happyface - a boy. Is anybody else going to find out the sex? I am still not sure - it was obvious DS was a boy but I would quite like a suprise this time. As M2T said - as long as baby is healthy I don't mind - really wanted a girl last time but am so used to boys now not sure what I would do with a girl!!
Am also starting to show (well I think so but everybody else doesn't) but maybe that's because the only clothes that fit are loose post DS clothes.
Pregnancy hormones are also playing havoc, have gone from being over the moon to down in the dumps, not helped by washing machine, TV, car battery and 2 teeth breaking all within the same week. DH went out last night rather tahn come home to face psycho pregnant wife who had been up since 3am with DS!! Not sure what he will do tonight as air was blue as had no electric either when woke this morning and DS was not happy as no cartoons.
Anyway, has anybody else been craving certain foods? For me it is fruit and pitta filled iwth cheese, carrot, tomatoes and salad. Last time with DS it was crisps and McDonalds. Was wondering if different food tastes meant boy or girl or just simply what you fancy. May start a thread to see.

sweetkitty · 19/02/2004 22:34

sorry you're having a hard time sibble

Apparently craving sweet things means a girl and meat and cheese a boy. I have a craving for Creme Eggs right now but think that's just because I'm a chocoholic. There's some good sites online where they take all the old wives tales put them together and give you a probability mine was 80% girl! Just a bit of fun really. I think I'm having a girl, we are going to try and find out next scan. I'm not bothered either way as it's our first.

stace · 20/02/2004 08:30

I all, just found this area and my due date is august 14th, but im hoping it'll come a week or so early as im an old cow and my birthdays the 6th so ill still be 38 if it comes early, silly eh!!! Been sick as hell every day so far and it gets me really down, have tried most things and nothing really helps but then again it didnt last time either. Have read a few of your postings but there are just so so so many! Hope everyones doing well anyway!

M2T · 20/02/2004 09:10

I'm definitely going to ask the sex of the baby! I'm far too nosy and impatient not to. I asked with ds but they could never tell.... until the scan I got the day before he was born (thought he was breech). I had a terrible craving for sweet foods with ds! Wine gums, cinnamon balls, cheeeeeeeeesecake... MMMMM. And the same this time, so dunno about that theory.

Good god sibble! That would get me down pregnant or not! And you DH bailing out??? What a git. Just make sure you dig your nails in rrrrreally hard during labour.

Welcome Stace! And congratulations. Sorry you're still feeling sick, thats horrible. Hope it passes soon.

Thanks for the welcome M2T its a strange one the finding out the sex thing, i really kind of fancy the idea and think my over indulged spoilt 4yr old would benefit from time to get used the sex. Equally my step kids and i ..... would like to get any tiny tiny disappointment out the way before the arrival, but my other half doesnt want to know. SO im hoping the kids will all work on him for us!!

M2T · 20/02/2004 09:43

I am terrified of my reaction if they say it's a boy. I have one boy already and I feel like I'll get this huge sinking feeling if this is a boy too. It's getting me down, but I'd rather know before the birth so I can snap out of it! I feel so guilty, ridiculous and selfish, but can't seem to shake this feeling.
Sometimes I convince myself that I don't care either way as long as it's healthy..... but if I am truly honest then I want a girl.
Anyone else feeling like this?

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 20/02/2004 14:37

I think it's natural for you to feel like that m2t you shouldn't feel bad about it.

I can't wait to find out the babies sex, got ages to go though, I have told myself I am not buying anything for the baby until after the scan and I'm so desperate to.

I want to keep the sex a secret from everyone else until it's born but I'm sure DP will blab to everyone.

Welcome stace!

M2T · 20/02/2004 14:43

Thanks Sweetkitty - I'm pretty positive that when it comes to the moment and they say ITS A BOY... I won't give a stuff about not having a girl..... It's just another thing to add to the list of things I'm tormenting myself about!

OP posts:
stace · 20/02/2004 14:46

Just hang in there till you find out!!! You know im pretty sure that if it is another boy you'll be really pleased in time anyhow! At least it will all be familar and you'll know what to do with him. I dont want another and to be honest im really only have this one cos i really didnt want no 1 to be an only child and its kinda of normal to want 1 or each but you know what as delighted as i will be if it is a girl there will be all the nervousness again while you get the hang of the diffences ???

stace · 20/02/2004 14:49

sweet kitty thanks for the welcome, how are you doing? Sorry im a bit of a virgin at this stuff what is DP etc???

M2T its nice to know that im not the only neurotic that spends most of my time torturing myself with what if's. o

sweetkitty · 20/02/2004 16:50

16 + 2 m2t and it's my first so I'm not expecting to feel anything yet, just jealous for all you that can!!

sibble · 20/02/2004 18:13

Hi Stace - welcome - I post at weird times as in NZ so miss on the gossip during the day but am 'looking forward' to night feeds when I will be awake with everybody else (not).!!!
M2T I felt exactly like you last time wanting a girl desperatly (different reasons)- I have a step son (code named Damion by my family and friends unbeknown to DH), so the thought of a boy like my step son was too much to consider. I found out the sex on scan (was obvious) and cried for weeks but by the time he was born I had come around to the fact he was boy, given him a name and when he was placed in my arms the feeling was overwhelming, I think he could have been pink with blue spots for all I cared.
This time I genuinely don't mind as I am used to boys and he is nothing like my over indulged step son. In fact I am quite worried I wouldn't know what to do with a girl. I know nothing about barbie but a heck of a lot about power rangers and action man!!
And don't worry M2T DH will get the full wrath of 'mad woman in labour' at the time. I am sitting here plotting at the moment - ahhhh revenge is sweet.

stace · 21/02/2004 09:08

Hi sibble, i know a bit of what you mean the lazy side of me would be really delighte to have a boy the other cuddly side would like a girl but barbie urgh all that pink, just the moodiness of another female in my territory scares the living daylights out of me. But then again i am really lucky i have barbie and ken for my fabulous stepson and daughter! How old is the dreaded Damion maybe he'll grow into Superman!!

dinosaur · 23/02/2004 10:50

hello everybody - I'm back - was away last week (half-term)

feeling fine and dandy myself most of the time - but have really really itchy boobs! anyone have any idea why this should be??

sweetkitty · 23/02/2004 11:51

hello all

My boobs get tingly not itchy, I thought it was probably to do with them growing and gearing up for making milk.

I'm generally OK, pelvic pain more or less the same can feel hard bit just on my belly button now which I guess is the top of my uterus, I'm all excited to be getting a bump.

M2T · 23/02/2004 12:03

Dino - I posted a response to your 'itchy breasts' comment, but it seems to have been lost! I was having lunch yesterday with a friend who is 14wks pg. We had a right laugh about the itchy nipples thing. Mine were a few weeks ago and I had to keep running into public toilets and dark doorways to have a scratch. She has very itchy ones just now. You don't read about that in the pregnancy books eh!!

Sweetkitty - Thats lovely that you can feel your bump now..... I can see mine, but there is a mountain of flab on top so can't really feel it yet.
