Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

Podmog - I wouldn't go, but thats due to my families history of quick labours.... also ds was a week early and I had pregnancy induced hypertension. Not a good combination. Do you think you would have time to get to a hospital if you did go into labour?

Maybe you should just wait and see how you feel nearer the time. That's one thing I learned 1st time around.... you can NEVER plan for how things will go with a pregnancy.

Ho Podmog, the travelling, unless you were going by train would put me off more than being so far from home. Sitting in a car for that long with frequent wee stops would be a nightmare.
My boobs don't itch but every evening feel like they are going to explode, they literaly pulsate as though I am BF, very weird.

M2T · 24/02/2004 08:36

Good Morning All,

76 working days left and I am now 41% through this pregnancy. Yes... I'm sad....and Yes.... I'm bored at work.

Sibble - Exploding breasts?? WOW! Now there's an image!

Podmog - Have you thought about what you will do about the holiday?

sweetkitty · 24/02/2004 09:22

m2t that is bored, you want some of my work? We've had everyone leave, leaving me holding the baby so to speak. Still only 4 months to go.

I out on a shirt this morning for work that fitted 2 weeks ago and it looked terrible, all popping open in the boob and belly are

SpringChicken · 24/02/2004 09:37

I worked this out yesterday too M2T. I have 77 Working days left and 137 days til baby's due date

Only 77 more days at work - cannot wait for some time off!

oliveoil · 24/02/2004 10:11

Morning all. I haven't worked out how long I have left but will get my calendar out soon to sort out my maternity leave. Does anyone know if you get your holiday entitlement on mat leave? I get 21 days pro rata and want to save as much as poss to tag onto my mat leave. Think I get around 9 days (ish) which will mean 3 weeks tagged on!

Have pain in my pelvis/top of legs areas today, got off the bus walking like John Wayne. This preg is totally different to my first and DON'T say 'oooh you're having a boy' will deck the next person that tells me that!

The good news is you still get holidays on top of maternity leave. What I'm doing is taking 2 weeks hol straight before my maternity leave so I get longer at the end. You can take you're full years entitlement before you go on maternity leave one woman at work used her hoiday to work a 4 days week for the last 6 weeks before she left. I don't think you can tag it on at the end though, ie have your maternity leave then 3 weeks hol

Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough Pod, I felt like that last week and had to suffer sinus pain without the usual half of Boots I normally take.

sibble · 24/02/2004 18:38

Podmog I do feel for you, had to have half a crown fitted yesterday with minimal local and no pain killers afterwards. My face is still abit swollen this morning after all the digging. All Dh kept saying - is you look really rough - all night - great help.
Dh worked out as am now 16 weeks (+1 day - hurray) only 4 weeks to go until hopefully half way through. He then started to ask what is the earliest I oculd have the baby so I stop being psycho pregnant woman as he has nicknamed me!! DS then went to nursery and told his teacher - daddy was born at 16 weeks and the baby will be born at 23???? (he must have been listening while playing). Really bought home we have to be careful what we say when he is in the room. Lucky it was harmless!
Am also on the hunt for a 32DD bra for the mad exloding boobs and have months to go yet. Am not used to it and am starting to feel they enter the room before I do, like they are a separate entity. Guess they won't look so weird to me when the tummy over takes them in the growth stakes.

littlerach · 24/02/2004 19:26

I am taking one weeks hol before mat leave, and two weeks at the end.
Podmog, hope you are feeling better soon, must admit that this cold wind has made DD complain about her ears.

sweetkitty · 25/02/2004 10:46

Morning all, hope you are all OK.

17 weeks today, wish I could feel something keep "listening" out for it but it's probably just wind!

oliveoil · 25/02/2004 12:27

How early can you feel movements? I am 15 weeks and I am sure I could feel something yesterday and just now. Or am I just windy??

Quackers · 25/02/2004 13:22

Hiya!
They say around 20 ish weeks for a first and 16-18 weeks for subsequent pgcies!
Although I didn't feel DD till 22 weeks, I felt this baby at 13/14 weeks would you beleive!!

Oh Podmog - hope you start to feel better soon. Try to keep water down - you'd be amazed how long we can bob along without food and the baby be absolutely fine. Wishing you well soon

lauraw78 · 26/02/2004 19:35

hi, new on here,I am also due in august (14th) finally over the sickness and feeling great now, though it is hard work running after my 2 year old hyperactive daughter, suppose it is a good way to keep fit during this pregnancy, even if I am shovelling in the food like theres no tomorrow

sweetkitty · 26/02/2004 19:43

hi laura welcome to mumsnet

M2T · 27/02/2004 13:50

Hiya guys and welcome Laura!

I've been off work since Wednesday with pains in my right hip and buttock. Went to the GP yesterday and I've been referred to the physio. Didn't have any of this last time around! I'm also SOOOOOOOOOOO constipated which can't be helping. So I'm feeling very sorry for myself at home. DH is at work, DS is with my Mum.
17wks today..... I really hope this doesn't get any worse.

On a brighter note I'm feeling movements almost every time I sit down, this is definitely an active baby like his/her big brother.
OO - I have been feeling these flutters since 14/15 wks so yes it sounds like you are feeling the first wriggles!!

Welcome Laura! I'm 17+5 with third baby.

M2T - sorry to hear you are having such a horrible time Take care of yourself. Have you tried prune juice? It is not very nice but it did the trick for me when I was on some medication that had constpipation as a side effect. You can get it in health food shops.

sweetkitty · 27/02/2004 19:51

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough m2t, dried apricots always work for me.

M2T · 01/03/2004 09:20

Thanks girls....
I've tried everything. I ate a whole tin of prunes on Wednesday. I drank mango and orange smoothies for 3 days AND have been taking the maximum dose of lactulose since Saturday night. WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING!!!??? All it's doing is giving me stomach pains and wind! Highly embarassing when you travel be train/tube/bus to work in the morning. On a plus point and I've been given plenty of room on the tube.
Pelvic pains seem to have settled to one spot now at my coccix (sp?). Very painful.

17+3 today. I've booked my private scan for 22nd March. So 3 weeks today!

I wrote a letter to my MP regarding the entitlement for a 20wk scan at my local hospital and he replied with a very nice and personal letter explaining that he was parent of 3 young children and that it concerned him too. He has written to the Director of Forth Valley Health Board on my behalf and will contact me with his response. Probably won't make any difference, but I at least feel like the problem has been acknowledged. Let's see what the response is, I'm very curious!

Hope everyone is well, this thread seems very quiet!

How grim M2T. I'm sure you have done this already, but have you tried drinking lots (and I mean lots) of water? (Sorry, the bleeding obvious has always been my speciality!)
