Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

Glad you;re getting the 'flutters' M2T, it's great isn't it!!

sibble · 12/02/2004 18:24

M2T - unfortunately have had it since day 1 so reluctantly DH now lets me do all the driving after the last trip to see his mother - usually takes 1.5 hours and took 2.5 (and I drove most of the way). Being the considerate soul that he is, he has arranged for us to go away for a weekend with frineds - only 4 hours!!!! can't understand why I am not keen!!! Driving does help rather than being the passenger although I have been known to have to stop the car even when I am driving and it has nothing to do with my driving skills as suggested by DH.

Thought we were falling down the messages a bit and I would bump us back up. Hope everyone is ok. I'm fine nothing is fitting me anymore - I look pregnant now, is this normal??

M2T · 16/02/2004 13:10

Sweetkitty - everyone shows at different times... so it'll be perfectly normal. I have a definite bump, but I think it would be more obvious to everyone else if I wasn't already carrying an extra 2stone of weight from my 1st pregnancy (and a pot belly!).
I didn't show with ds until 20wks or more.

I have been having painful braxton hicks already! I started another thread about it coz I was so worried I was miscarrying. I spoke to a midwife and a GP who both advised paracetamol and relaxation unless they get more regular or I start bleeding. Really scared me though (still are)!

Apart from that I am feeling fine. Just the normal pregnancy grumbles.... heartburn, peeing constantly etc etc.

Put all this aside and I'm sailing through this pregnancy!

Thanks m2t I think it's the baby pushing the flab out thats making me look pregnant!

Sorry to hear your having Braxton Hicks already - I have that joy to come. What makes me giggle is that the advice for everything in pregnancy is take 2 paracetamol and relax, even if you're head was hanging off you'd be told it (well maybe not).

My mother is doing my head in right now - she's obsessed with boy babies, thinks girls are second class ( I kid you not). She's been telling everyone I want a boy (because all women do in her mind) argh I could scream a nice healthy baby is all I want!

M2T · 16/02/2004 13:41

Sweetkitty - How odd! Why is she so pro-boys? She obviously had a girl (you).... do you have any other siblings? Was there favourtism as you grew up?
Well you can tell yer Mum from me that I WANT A GIRL! However, like you pointed out, a healthy baby is what I want more than anything else in the world regardless of the sex.

I didn't care what sex ds was and I only want a girl this time coz I've already got a boy.... Where DOES your Mum get her info from?

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 16/02/2004 13:54

yes I have a younger brother definately more favoured than me. She says that a woman is not a proper woman until she has given birth to a boy (I kid you not). She said she would have kept having babies till she got her boy! I'm not too worried she's always been like this - I'm about 90% sure this one is a girl (have done since before I did the test)! Just annoys me that she has been telling people I want a boy when I have said no such thing. If I here one more "well in my day we did such and such" feel like saying that was nearly 30 years ago things have moved on slightly. Arghhhhhhh think it's just mothers!

M2T · 17/02/2004 10:47

Quick update - No more braxton hicks and now feeling much better. 15+4 today!

How is everyone? Toyiba??? Are you okay?

oliveoil · 17/02/2004 11:56

Goof news M2T, can't believe you are 15+4!!

I am 14 weeks, how do you work the + out? Can't remember from last time.

My appetite is back with it's usual greed, had 2 breakfasts today.

oliveoil · 17/02/2004 11:56

Good news obv

You goof you.

M2T · 18/02/2004 09:34

lol OO!

It's just the number of days. I was 15 weeks on Friday so I am now 15 wks and 5 days....
I'm 16 wks on Friday. Can't believe it!
I've got my 16wk antenatal appointment this afternoon. I'm hoping they listen in to the heartbeat.
Yeah, my appetite is pretty healthy at the moment too.

16 weeks today and hopefully all's well. I don't have another appointment with the midwife until 19 weeks.

oliveoil · 18/02/2004 11:34

I can't believe how fast we are all incubating out little beans can you?

My nose is blocked up now and I keep getting headaches. I got this last time as well, sound like an elephant when I blow, much to the offices delight

M2T · 18/02/2004 11:41

Sweetkitty - After my appointment today they don't want to see me again until 22 weeks! I'm sure mine were every 4 wks last time...... but they seem to have cut back as usual and are now every 6wks until around 32 wks.

OO - I keep meaning to post that! My nose has now been runny for 4mths. No headaches this week but a couple of weeks ago it felt like I had one every other day. I keep having sneezing fits which amuse my DH.

I've got a horrible cold so I've taken a few days off work to rest, also helping this pelvic pain too.

Since I've been pregnant I get terrible wind, I can feel it churning up in my stomach most nights, the baby must be getting well squished about, my dp thinks it's really funny.

sweetkitty · 18/02/2004 11:44

6 weeks since my last appointment m2t I meant to add.

Aw that's pants Sweetkitty. How is the pelvic pain now?
The midwives don't seem particularly interested in your pregnancy until the 3rd trimester. I saw one at 9 wks when I booked in. I've had a scan in between though. And I'll have my private scan at 20wks so I won't feel too neglected.

Podmog - Did you not notice you showed quicker with your 2nd? Or did you have fantastic tummy muscles after the 1st?

M2T, how are you growing? You're not far behind me. I feel like I've grown really quick this time. I've not put on weight yet but my uterus is quite expanded!! I've probably lost loads through lack of alcohol!

HAPPYFACE · 18/02/2004 21:39

kings phoned about hour ago to advise all tests good and babies chormosomes fine, we were a little optimistic anyway since the scan looked fine. she asked if I wanted to know the sex and I'm shocked since I just thought it would be a another girl but I'm having a boy, 13 wks today it all seems a shock but I feel confident I will enjoy pregnancy more now, even though I feel sick most of the time!

Toyiba · 18/02/2004 22:13

hi everyone, i've been to my mums for a week so haven't been on. i am now 14+3 weeks and still don't feel pregnant, just feel bigger and bigger.
i have been feeling really down lately, but i suppose its just my hormones.

M2T · 19/02/2004 08:29

Quacks - I am in maternity wear permanently now and I definitely look pregnant!
I got to hear the babies heart beat for the 1st time yesterday!! They listened in as I had had those pains over the weekend. More samples sent off to the lab as the MW thinks I have ANOTHER UTI. Ah well.

Happyface - Aw congratulations! It's a boy. I'm secretly hoping for a girl this time, but another boy is more likely...... I won't be upset, just a tiny bit sad. I don't plan to have anymore kids so if this is a boy then that's my lot! Ds wants a boy and we only really seem to talk about boys names. A healthy baby will do me just fine whatever the variety.

I don't have another MW appointment now until 7th April!!! They really don't look after you much here. But I will have my private anomaly scan in about 4 wks time. Can't wait!

Toyiba - Most likely your hormones. In a few weeks you'll feel the baby moving and that should cheer you up. I remember last time sitting in meetings at work.... thoroughly bored and miserable, then the baby would start kicking and I'd disappear into my own wee world, just me and the baby.

Quackers · 19/02/2004 08:38

Me too M2T, bump is growing well, it feels great!
SO pleased you got to hear the heartbeat, I found that more moving than my scans, just must be cos it's something you can physically hear! My big scan 2 weeks tommorow, going really quick now!

M2T · 19/02/2004 14:08

Quacks - She let me listen for ages. It was great! And every now and then you could hear the baby moving around.

Only s weeks now until you're anomaly scan?? It is flying eh..... unlike today which for some reason is rrrrreeeallly dddrrrraaggging.
