Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

hi coo, thanx for the reassurance. i only miscarried once, but my 2nd pregnancy took 3 years to happen, so you can understand my concern.

m2t - really pleased about your scan

milupa · 24/01/2004 17:53

m2t, are you already showing?
Is your bump slightly visible?

sweetkitty · 25/01/2004 21:06

hi everyone

12+4 weeks now I have my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow as it's my first time I don't know what to expect.

I keep having a feel and have a kind of hard bit above my bikini line is that the bump? My belly just looks permantley bloated as well. Anyone else started to show?

Quackers · 26/01/2004 08:53

Morning, yes that will be your bump sweet kitty! I'm 14 weeks now and I can't believe how much it has grown in the last couple of weeks! Defo showing now. This is my second and it's already near my belly button! The m/w said with second babies the womb stretches quicker, thank God, thought I was having a mammoth size baby!

M2T · 26/01/2004 09:20

Hellooooo,

Sweetkitty - Like Quacks said that definitely sounds like your bump.
I am wearing my work trousers today that I bought a while ago in size 16.... they were too big for me and now I can't do up the top button!!! I'm just hoping they don't fall down as I'm in a drafty portacabin with 4 men.

I'm 12+3 today. I went to my pals for Burns Supper on Saturday night and they commented on my growing bump. Can't wait to feel movements.
I do feel very sick today, but I think I might have a wee bug. Loads of it going around here at the moment and ds was sick on Sunday morning.

Hey M2T, I'm intrigued!!!
Hope you feel better soon!!

dinosaur · 26/01/2004 10:19

I hope you feel better too m2t.

I am showing loads but I suppose it is No. 3, so abdominal muscles have clearly just given up.

Told the DSs yesterday!

SpringChicken · 26/01/2004 10:32

I thought i was showing quite a bit - MIL and SIL keep commenting on my growing bump but everyone else seems to think i look thinner than usual!

When i haven't got any clothes on (Which only me & DP see, Thank god ) you can see there is definitely a bump there and even when i lay down it still stays there. I don't know what to think.............. I WANT A PROPER BUMP AND I WANT IT NOW ! ! !

dinosaur · 26/01/2004 10:33

SC, first time around I didn't really look pregnant until I was about 20 weeks.

M2T · 26/01/2004 11:48

Dino - Me neither. I was desperate for a bump.... then when it appeared I was just desperate to get the baby out!

Looks like we've all made it to the 2nd Trimester then! This is definitely the best one. Make the most of it SC and enjoy as I'm sure you are. You'll look fab, feel fab and the first kicks are amazing.
The 3rd Trimester is a drag.... you feel heavy, hot and the babies kicking isn't so cute anymore!!

thanks everyone I think the little bump is being dwarfed by the huge boobs!

had my midwives appointment this morning was a little disappointed to be honest. Basically was told I was having it at the hospital and that I'm breastfeeding. There is not midwife unit so I guess it's the hospital or home. thank goodness i have hear and the books i bought or I would be none the wiser.

Toyiba · 26/01/2004 22:54

hi everyone.

just to let you all know i'm 11+1, feel extremely exhausted and naucious. i'm eating alot aswell and put on a bit of wait and i tend to go to the loo alot. Is all this normal?

my scan date came thru 2day for 4th Feb 04. Wish me luck.

sibble · 26/01/2004 23:17

Hi All
Had my nuchal fold scan today and all seemed to go well. Much more thorough than I can remember from last time, she showed me and checked everything, lenght of arms, legs, bones, checked spine, nasal bone, brain formation, absolutely everything. I came away so reassured. Thickness was 1, apparantly small but have to wait for my odds ratio from GP tomorrow. For the first time (even though i have had 2 scans this pregnancy) it seems real, like a little person in there. Am still bleeding though so am trying to relax but not get overly excited. nausea is also subsiding and most days is manageable now and have bump, especially with clothes off. Went to the beach the other day in bikini and definately looked pregnant, even DH commented and that is unusual for him!!
Toyiba you sound very normal to me.

mears · 26/01/2004 23:53

M2T posted this on your anomaly scan thread (incase you don't see it)

M2T - have had an interesting conversation with a colleague of mine who suggests you write to Stirling MSP Sylvia Jackson about this issue. Apparently she is on the case. All health board areas should be offering the same standard of care as the national guidelines.

oliveoil · 27/01/2004 11:53

Got my scan date through, hurrah. Feb 11th at 9.25 for ABOUT 2 HOURS. Don't make me bloody laugh, I was in there nearly 4 last time waiting and waiting for my next 'expert' who wanted to know why I didn't want blood tests/amnios/blahdy blahdy blah.

I am a bit worried that it may be more than one baby however, twins in my and dh's family and due this generation. Have felt quite sick and nauseous this time round and wasn't with dd. Oh dear. Hope this is not a sign. Have really strong feelings that it is though. Can you imagine having 2 waking up in the night aarrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

SpringChicken · 27/01/2004 14:24

Ha Ha OO - that was my biggest fear

I'm sure Twins are lovely but i just knew i wouldn't be able to cope - i would have to give one to my mum

Coo · 27/01/2004 16:09

Hi all
hope everyone is feeling good today. Had my 12 week scan Friday and the baby was moving around alot. Am having Nuchal fold scan this week and am very nervous. Am also up at least twice a night to go to the loo, My stomach is massive is this normal? (all out in front) cannot hide it from anyone.

eyelash · 27/01/2004 17:27

Sibble - congratulations on the great scan. The bleeding must be a worry though!

sweetkitty · 28/01/2004 21:44

sweetkitty · 29/01/2004 16:40
