Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

She was fine about it - just relieved that I wasn't handing in my notice, I think! She's got three children herself.

bossykate · 20/01/2004 17:08

hi everyone

had nuchal scan today and all well, clear and strong heartbeat, CRL 70mm, low risk for down's.

i'm due on the 29th July (12+5 today - confirmed by scan) so will also be hanging around here in the event of a few days delay.

i'm so relieved, it has all been rather a strain up to now.

thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to respond to questions from "NGPY"

dinosaur · 20/01/2004 17:10

wow! bossykate! i'd no idea!

bossykate · 20/01/2004 17:16

thanks

dinosaur · 20/01/2004 17:17

And of course, I should have said, congrats!

dinosaur · 20/01/2004 17:27

M2T - best wishes and good vibes for your scan tomorrow!

SpringChicken · 20/01/2004 17:29

Good Luck for tomorrow M2T although i'm sure you wont need it

Make sure you get back here pronto and tell us all about it!

sweetkitty · 20/01/2004 21:30

thanks for that dino

Got my booking in appointment with the midwife through today - for next Monday. Good luck with the scan tomorrow m2t!

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow so I should start to relax a bit more think I got my dates wrong cos I'm now due on the Wednesday 4th August oh well.

It's wierd because I think I am showing already my stomach is huge like I'm bloated and I've been hearing loads of people say "I didn't show till 5 months with mine etc". I'm not overweight but I look about 5 months gone already and clothes not fitting anymore. Not that I mind really be nice when I look pregnant.

Quackers · 21/01/2004 09:12

Let us know how it goes M2T!!!

Toyiba · 21/01/2004 18:38

sibble - hi & thank you

dinosaur - hi

M2T - yes this is the first time i've been on mumsnet. my midwife did a home visit last saturday. you know the usual formalities of filling forms and all. my due date is now the 16th August 04, i conceived on 9th Nov, which makes me 10 weeks & 3 days.
I'm still concerned about having a miscarriage, because last time i was 13 weeks when i had a missed miscarriage, i found out i wasnt pregnant when i went in for my scan.

sweetkitty · 21/01/2004 20:05

hi toyiba

welcome to mumsnet - i conceived on 14th/15th nov and I'm due august the 4th, my last period was the 29th october - just wondering why youre due so long after me??? congratulations anyway

M2T · 21/01/2004 20:27

Hi folks! Scan went fine. Dats were perfect so I'm still due 6th Aug. Saw the wee thing wriggling around. She ahd a bit of trouble finding the baby coz my womb was having a bit of a contraction at the time! Nevermind.

i fought and fought to be referred for a 20 wk anomaly scan, but it was useless. I have booked a private one..... £140! If I lived 8 miles away i would be entitled to one on the NHS. Scandalous.

Congrats BK!!

thank you sweetkitty. when i said i conceived on 9th Nov, i meant that that was my last period was on 9th Nov. i don't know when i conceived. my midwife isnt very helpful at all. i told her of my past miscarriage, but she hasnt taken that into account. i thought that if they knew of my past they may do scans and tests asap. so i am a bit concerned.

M2K - nice to hear good news about ur scan. i'm still waiting for mine.

bluestar · 21/01/2004 21:56

bossykate, congratulations, lots of luck to you.

bossykate · 22/01/2004 06:59

thank you, bluestar, and the same to you (i see you are about to start ttc)

oliveoil · 22/01/2004 09:13

Good news M2T on your scan, can't believe you don't get another one, is that because you are in bonnie Scotland?

I haven't had my scan appointment through yet but I am going to the hosp I had dd in and now live outside their 'catchment' area so hope this won't cause any problems. Not going to the nearest one, no baby of mine is having Oldham on their birth certificate

sweetkitty · 22/01/2004 10:09

Glad to hear everything is OK m2t. Thats so bad you're not getting another scan, we get another one at 20 weeks here.

I'll keep everything crossed for yout toyiba, I've had 2 bleeds up to now and had a scan each time and everything was ok. I've got my offical scan next week.

M2T · 22/01/2004 10:34

OO - No, everywhere else I know offers a 20 week scan.... in fact the hospital I will deliver in offers it, but my antenatal care is in my local hospital and they have stopped it due to money cuts (I assume) and they refused to refer me elsewhere.

I will be getting one though.... I just have to pay £140 for a private one.

bossykate · 22/01/2004 10:34

sorry, m2t, meant to say congratulations on your scan result earlier

SpringChicken · 22/01/2004 10:51

Glad everything was Ok at the scan M2T - it's such a lovely feeling isn't it
I can't believe they don't offer you a 20 week scan - i know some places don't offer 12 week scans but surely the 20 weeks scan is too vital to miss! Maybe i am being thick but is this not the one where they confirm the baby has all of it's bits and bobs?

Good for you going private anyway M2T - although you shouldn't have to and it's awful they don't offer the scan at your antenatal place!

Coo · 22/01/2004 14:38

Hi Toyiba
Date of my last period was Nov 2 - so we are due about the same time. I miscarried 3 times a few years ago and decided to give it one last try. As I am 41 I thought it probably wouldn't happen though. Fortunately for me I have a relly good gyno (due to other health problems) who advised me to take a baby asprin daily as well as some natural hormones he prescribed. I had a scan at 8 weeks a saw the babys heartbeat - fantastic!! My 12 week scan is tomorrow - am very nervous as you can expect. Next stop amnio - yuk
