Yes I have finally started this thread. A bit apprehensive though as I'm still getting period pains.

I have worked out that baby number 2 should be due on 7 August.

Anyone else joining me??

WOW, that is late. I would've thought you would be hoping to be a couple of days early! I know I am!!!!

clink<

That was the penny dropping!

In Scotland it's different. DS is born June 27th and he will be one of the oldest in his year. The cut-off point here is around March. My birthday is February so I was one of the youngest in my year. If I had been born on my EDD I would've been in the year below!

I liked being young in my year, until I applied for Uni. You can't start Uni here until you're 17.5yrs old. I had finished my highers when I 16, but had to go to college for a year before starting Uni! Total waste of year IMHO.

Hi Podmog and everyone else!. Sorry to hear that your m/s has been so bad-only had nausea so far and been sick a couple of times, but have just gone off food-nothing appeals to me- so not sure if this may be the start of m/s!.

Here you go Blacksky - This is the best one to post on.

My DD was born 31st August. She is so tiny compared to her friends BUT she has BAGS of personality and confidence. It worried me that she would be the 'baby' of the class but I know she's ready for school. It's hard thinking of her at school in September, she still seems like a baby but I'm glad she's going this year and not waiting another year! Another hour pushing and she would have been 1st September!!

sweetkitty · 16/01/2004 12:22

m2T congratulations on making 11 weeks, I was 11 weeks yesterday, still don't have a scan appointment but I had one last week after the bleeding that showed everything is OK. I'm from Scotland too but live in London now but may move back so I am really looking forward to having an August baby. I hope it's a Leo like me. If I hang on 14 days late the baby might be born on my birthday, that happened to a close friend and I think it's really nice.

Sorry I'm 28 just now so I suppose I'm not classed as a mature mum although I feel like it sometimes. Still don't even feel pregnant althoguh I puilled on a skirt this morning that used to be too big and struggled to fasten it.

Blacksky · 16/01/2004 12:29

Thank you M2T. Somehow I don't feel so lonely any more

259 messages to go through....will keep me busy all weekend!!!!

There is something I wanted to ask everyone. It is a bit disgusting, but, has anyone had any loss of waterlike fluids (amniotic fluid I guess) or have you ever heard of it???

I had a strange incident the other day and I am a bit worried about it. I started a thread under "prengancy" for more disgusting details!!!!

Anyway, the baby seems to be fine, and that's all I really care about.

M2T · 16/01/2004 12:33

Goodness Sweetkitty! When it come nearer the time you will NOT be hoping you go 14 days over your EDD..... honest you won't.
Where in Scotland are you from?

Blacksky - I've never heard of that. I have had LOADS of discharge though... NICE!
I'm sure someone here will have heard of it and if the baby is okay then it must be nowt to worry about.

Good luck reading all the messages!

good luck dino

I'm from Ayrshire originally m2t I think you are right i will not be wanting to be 2 weeks late in the middle of August if it's as hot as last year.

I also made the mistake of having a Brazilian wax when 8 weeks pregnant I would not recommend it was the most painful thing ever, my skin is terrible since I've been pregnant very spotty but also dry on parts.

sibble · 16/01/2004 19:37

Hi Blacksky - welcome - havn't read your other thread but for want of too many details if the discharge has a really distinctive smell it could be an infection called bacterial vaginosis (you will know the smell!!). If it is, it probably needs to be treated. Although I don't think it is harmful to the baby it probably won't go without treatment and you may end up very sore. The discharge can be quite heavy almost like wetting yourself. I used to work in a clinic for sexually transmitted diseases and although this is NOT sexually transmitted we used to see alot of it. Having said that it could just be natural changes in your body - I would get it checked anyway.
Dinosaur how did you scan go?
have good weekends everybody. Am still not feeling too bad, cannot believe the sickness is over this quickly - lasted about 8 months with DS. Am too nervous to celebrate yet but will soon if doesn't return.

sibble · 16/01/2004 19:41

Blacksky ignore my previous message - DS has now stopped swinging from my neck and Dh has stopped talking so have read your other thread - the one off discharge doesn't sound like what I was pratling on about at all. Hopefully somebody will have an answer for you.

Congrats Dinosaur - so glad the scan went well for you. It is so lovely/such a relief to see the heartbeat isn't it.

sweetkitty · 19/01/2004 00:02

awww glad everything went ok dino

well i started bleeding this weekend again, well a kind of pink tinge to discharge saturday and a browny colour sunday. I'm less frightened this time but am going to the hospital tomorrow to demand a scan to see if everythings OK. Still havent had anything on scan/midwife appointment and I'm 12 weeks on Thursday!

M2T · 19/01/2004 08:55

Sweetkitty - Hope it goes okay for you. There seems to have been alot of early bleeding on MN recently that has turned out top be a bit of a mystery! Good luck. As for your 12 wk scan.... I had to phone them twice for the appointment and the card finally dropped through my letterbox on Friday morning for an appointment this Wednes day. Don't they realise that people need to give adequate notice to get time off work???

Definitely give them a phone.

Dino - So glad things went well for you. My scan is on Wednesday morning so I'll be online in the afternoon to update y'all.

Sweetkitty - am thinking of you ,have been bleeding since 6 weeks on and off, am now 11 weeks. It is so worrying isn't it. If you can push for a scan I would, I have had 2 so far and to see the heartbeat both times was such a relief. Have my 12 week nuchal fold scan on 27th, think this baby may want to be on TV by the time it pops out.

sweetkitty · 19/01/2004 20:37

thanks for your messages - went for a scan at the EPU today, alls well bubbs is 52 mms! Good to see it wriggling on the screen.

They were cross I hadnt had an a 12 week appointment and nuchal yet. The only appointment they had was when i'm 13 weeks 1 day which may be too late!

Saw the hospital for the first time too, it's new and modern but very very busy. The problem with this area is too many people have moved in here too fast and there's not the services to cope hence the doctors appointment queue's as well.

dinosaur · 20/01/2004 10:29

sweetkitty

someone posted on another thread recently that 13weeks plus 6 days is the latest to get an accurate nuchal fold test

dinosaur · 20/01/2004 15:17

Well, it's official - I told my boss today

M2T · 20/01/2004 15:19

Yeah! What did he/she say??
