FFS if another person brightly tells me that they went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks I will not be responsible for my actions.

Had a sweep today - well tried to, but cervix so high there was nothing much they could do. 1cm open apparently but this is baby #3 so I don't think that means anything.

Baby not engaged.
No pains.
No braxtons.
No cramps.
No show.
Nothing.

RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Am managing to stay cheerful in real life so I thought I'd come here for a rant and a weep. I'm done now. I have been pregnant for a very VERY long time. Could I PLEASE just have my baby now please?

40 + 8, 2 sweeps and not a sausage! grrr

First baby and it actually feels like it is never ever going to come out.

likelucklove · 07/03/2012 08:50

Mellie Sounds promising! Fingers crossed for you.

Babydust Any news? Hopefully you have your baby in your arms!

George Lovely sweeps Hmm so annoying when they don't work! Hoping it all starts soon. Have they talked about induction?

Quick update on me even though I'm just over! Went in to my midwife appointment yesterday, midwife tried to do a sweep but cervix hasn't dropped yet and because the bed is up against the wall, she couldn't do much. Had high BP (again!) so got sent to hospital, by the time they actually tested me it had dropped again even though I felt worse! So frustrating. Surely 5+ different midwives all can't be measuring my BP wrong (as the midwife in hospital said) and the same midwife in hospital every time measures it as normal?

I've got an appointment at the hospital again today with a consultant to talk about transferring me to the high risk ward because of my high BP and to talk about induction. I am going to push for it, I feel terrible, can't sleep, have had diarrhea for 4 days now and have actually stopped eating because I just can't do it anymore. Had no sleep last night and my DP went off to work looking like the living dead this morning because I kept him up.

Sorry for the rant, I'm no where near as overdue as you ladies. I don't know what I'm going to do if I get to your stages. I think in the Olympics, there should be a pregnancy category, with stamina measured on overdue women and everyone gets medals!

And I'm now so tired I'm not making sense...

Good luck all!

melliebobs · 07/03/2012 08:53

off to be induced @ 10:45

however i think Pip may have decided to get a wriggle on by herself.....fingers crossed

babydust27 · 07/03/2012 08:59

Im 5cm so should be this afternoon x

likelucklove · 07/03/2012 09:03

Good luck both of you! So exciting!

georgethecat · 07/03/2012 09:28

Oooo likelucklove make sure you do keep eating to keep your strength up x

likelucklove · 07/03/2012 09:38

I'm taking vitamins george but can't face eating. Am having plenty of water though x

TabithaChanges · 07/03/2012 09:48

Good luck Melliebobs and Babydust .
I'm 40+13 now . Today I feel dizzy , weak and my vision is blurry. However ds was up at 4am and took a while to settle so it took me ages to get back to sleep so probably just tired.

Have no family near to look after ds but I so want to go to bed and sleep but no chance of that. No sign of anything , if it's c sec I don't know how I will look after newborn and 16 month old!

georgethecat · 07/03/2012 09:50

What about some complan - just checked its suitable in pg:

www.complanfoods.com/complan_women.php

Just might give you a bit more sustanance than just vits and water if you can manage it as it has protein too. Might just bolster you so you dont get too under the weather.

TabithaChanges · 07/03/2012 09:54

Likelucklove you could also have dioralyte to help you with the dehydration. I took it after a sickness bug.

likelucklove · 07/03/2012 09:59

Fab ladies, thank you so much. Will pop to Boots and get both of them. I know it's terrible because it's bad for the baby, god knows how I'll get on during child birth! Thanks

TabithaChanges · 07/03/2012 10:02

You can buy them in supermarkets too if that is any easier for you .

likelucklove · 07/03/2012 10:11

Boots is ok, I live close to a retail park and it's a big one so more likely to get a bigger selection. I hope this baby hurrys up!

TabithaChanges · 07/03/2012 17:34

Still pregnant +14 tomorrow. So going in for induction was really hoping to avoid it. Bit scared of being induced , really wanted pool and gas like last time. :(

georgethecat · 07/03/2012 17:41

Hi TabithaChanges its crap being overdue with the threat of induction looming. I think I would have been better being taken by surprise without all this excessive time to mull it all over. I'm really starting to freak the hell out, need to keep the hypnobirthing cd on loop.

banjopink · 07/03/2012 18:49

so induction booked for tomorrow.... Come on baby.....

Sweep today (42 weeks) and definitely had some slightly stronger than usual braxton hicks, but nothing with any regularity to it. Going out for dinner shortly - surely that will make something happen?????

Indith · 07/03/2012 19:15

Fingers crossed for you all. Hope any inductions go well x

babydust27 · 07/03/2012 21:49

Baby Daniel arrived this afternoon! He's absolutely perfect :-)

TabithaChanges · 08/03/2012 08:42

Congrats Babydust :) lovely news

I just called hosp as getting induced today , they said they would call me back , arghh , when ?! :(

banjopink · 08/03/2012 09:11

Congrats indeed.

Also due to be induced today. Called at 8 as instructed, only to be told to call back at 12. Also argh! In the mean time though mild, sporadic contractions - perhaps delay will give spontaneous labour chance to establish and I can have hope birth after all???

Sonriente · 08/03/2012 11:49

Midwife on her way round to try a sweep. I'd be interested to hear what happens at inductions. Mine booked for Monday. Good luck ladies!

melliebobs · 08/03/2012 13:25

Well what a polava

Had appointment for induction yday (Wednesday) at 10:45. Woke up at 5 with what I thought were nerves/period pain. Get to hospital n before you see the dr u r put on the monitor which showed I was contracting. Waiting for the dr sat on the ball when my waters broke. However got meconium in so out went the water birth. Down to delivery where was stuck on the monitor. Mw was FANTASTIC as she new it wasn't what I wanted. Was able to sit on the ball stand on lean on the bed and on all fours draped over the bed and had massage. 4 hrs after waters going felt need to push. Midwives got delivery pack ready and Paediatric person on the way just needed a quick internal then crack on. 2 cm baby back to back me in hysterics cos everyone had built me up. Everything else was going wrong so I requested an epidural. At least I could doze then (had been up 14 hrs & hasn't slept proper) got to 10:45 was 8 cm baby descending then all and sundry come into the room. Next thing I know feet are in stirrups and have people asking me when I last ate and can I take my tongue, lip and all other piercing out. Wheeled into theatre for emergency section. However under a general anaesthetic. Me and dh misses it all. But I've never seen people move so quick. From them making that initial decision my DD was out in 15-20 mins.

Was far from over after that. They think dd has an infection so as a precaution she's on neo natal 2 times a day for anti biotics. Me on the other hand was critical. I too have some kind of infection. I Couldn't regulate my oxygen, temp or iron levels. Spent the night alternating between a nebuliser and oxygen and had a blood transfusion. 2 bags of the stuff! Having to have daily injections to avoid DVT and till everything settles down I'm still on delivery suite

But baby - or Nancy as she's called is beautiful & completely oblivious to what's gone on!

SilentBoob · 08/03/2012 14:01

Bloody hell Mellie. Well, congratulations! Am delighted you and Nancy are okay. Sorry it all went a bit pear shaped though. Must have been very frightening. Take it easy. Be kind to yourself. xx

And congratulations to you too Babydust. Enjoy those newborn snuggles :)

TabithaChanges · 09/03/2012 09:35

Congrats Mellie. Well I'm +15 now. Went in to be induced yest. Kept me waiting 5.5 hours :( did the pessary finally at 7pm , then let me go home at 2.20 am. I'm so tired we waited 5.5 hours to even get the ctg! Also the pessary was almost out this morning tried to shove it back in but got so much mucus it was almost out again so just pulled it out in bath.

I'm supposed to call if it falls out but can't face waiting hours again so will call later when I decide to. Meant to be back at 6pm for next pessary do will be up all night no doubt. :( oh baby seems to be back to back so that explains it.

Sonriente · 09/03/2012 15:05

Oh Tabitha - that's really crap! I hope tonight goes better.
