FFS if another person brightly tells me that they went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks I will not be responsible for my actions.

Had a sweep today - well tried to, but cervix so high there was nothing much they could do. 1cm open apparently but this is baby #3 so I don't think that means anything.

Baby not engaged.
No pains.
No braxtons.
No cramps.
No show.
Nothing.

RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Am managing to stay cheerful in real life so I thought I'd come here for a rant and a weep. I'm done now. I have been pregnant for a very VERY long time. Could I PLEASE just have my baby now please?

Didn't realise that blog had some strange comments on it...ignore!

Apparently this woman "went into labour 2 days later and had them naturally" Smile

Flisspaps · 28/02/2012 13:00

deardear I've been up to the 42w stage in the past so I know how crappy it is to still be pregnant and no, not had that baby yet.

I can barely walk now, I am suffering the needing-to-wee-at-all-hours (where you realise you will get longer periods of unbroken sleep after baby arrives) so I am trying to console myself somewhat that even another 7+w has it's positive side Wink

SilentBoob · 28/02/2012 13:00

I AM STILL PREGNANT.

FFS.

That is all.

I don't like that twin woman. She can move far too easily and her twin bump doesn't look any bigger than my singleton. I therefore conclude that she is an annoying cow and I hate her.

MW couldn't even reach my cervix

Someone will come here on Friday when I'm +10. They are not rushing to book me in for induction which is very nice though I expect at some point I'll start begging them to just get the bloody baby out!

SilentBoob · 28/02/2012 13:48

Why do they allow women with such short, stubby, stumpy fingers to become midwives? Angry

TabithaChanges · 28/02/2012 19:40

Indith , that's rubbish . I'm a bit worried about the sweep, do you think it will be ok with a toddler about ? I went for a long walk and took ds to park but still nothing. Had pineapple for tea!

People are coming out of the woodwork asking about baby now. I'm trying to be pleasant but what's with questions like " any idea if baby is coming soon? " of course I bloody don't ! Angry

SilentBoob · 29/02/2012 04:13

Husband did all school runs this morning. He just phoned to tell me that he was stopped by approx 20 different women to ask if there was any news.

Anyway, I am now bored with waiting to give birth and have bought myself an awesome juicer to play with instead. It is huge. This morning I had peach, pineapple and pear. You can put all the skins in and everything - chuck in a whole pear and out comes pear juice! Husband raised a timid eyebrow but very sensibly didn't go so far as to comment. I think he realises that the justification is that I AM VERY VERY PREGNANT AND CAN DO WHAT THE HELL I WANT. Actually it's quite liberating in some ways, this overdue lark.

I am due tomorrow but am nearly overdue and have no signs, so am joining in. So there. Am in Oz and it is HOT and I am ANGRY and ITCHY and I CAN'T WALK and my DS (just turned 2) is not sympathetic and still wants to play, all frigging day. DS was 10 days late, so I am not hopeful of it arriving soon.
I also hate that twin woman Indith. How are her arms and legs so thin? I look like a sumo wrestler, all over. The only shoes that will go over my feet are great big pink flip flops.
DH very supportive, but such is my rage that even that is annoying.

DianaXXX · 29/02/2012 07:23

I'm 5 days overdue! But I hope he will be born on the 1st of march, what a lovely date to be born Wink
The problem is I have been feeling so unwell for the past two weeks that I'm
Not sure I will realise when I actually in labour!
Ladies that have gone overdue please let me know what your midwifes have suggested! As iv only been offered to be induced on the 5th of march and nothing before that! My due date was 24th of feb! Smile
Ps I'm from London (Uchl hospital) Wink

SilentBoob · 29/02/2012 07:46

I just tried to go for a walk but my belly is so sore I cut it short and came home. I feel like I've pulled a muscle and every step is a shooting stitch pain on one side.

Harumph.

Hello Frizzy and Diana.

Diana are you being seen or monitored between now and the 5th March? My due date was 25th Feb and I am going in to discuss induction on the 7th, so if everyone agrees will probably be induced around the 8th / 9th - but in the mean time I am seeing my doctor twice a week and having regular CTGs and check-overs to check everything is okay. Am not in UK though so it may be different where you are.

OP posts:
GavisconJunkie · 29/02/2012 08:27

Diana I was going to be induced 14 days over. No constant monitoring or anything. Ask for a stretch & sweep if you haven't already. It might not be possible, mine wasn't, but it'll be worth a check.

I too felt unwell, I didn't know for a while, but that's because dd was back to back so I just had awful backache. Upside was I was 5cm when I went in. Downside was back to back is hard & ended up with emcs 14 days after due date.

Good luck all.

FrizzyFrazzled · 29/02/2012 09:00

I have an appointment - made by midwives, not me - to talk induction on March 2, the day after I am due. I was initially a bit anti-induction until its absolutely needed for the baby's health - let 'em cook as long as they need to, I thought - but am coming round to the idea of an induction if needs be. Really have no idea what that involved though, am speaking as an angry, tired, hormonal woman.
Have just eaten curry for dinner. Again. I hate curry. Grrrr.

babydust27 · 29/02/2012 09:21

im still here too!! I went for a walk yesterday but like silentbob i came back pretty quickly after getting pains that felt like a stitch.

Im off to get the food shopping this morning since its pay day! Hopefully a waddle round asda might be the way to get things going.

Ive told DP that hes buying me a curry tonight!! Know it wont work but i quite fancy one so might as well give it a go!

I had some sharp pains last night for about 2 hours, kinda stabbing pains but really low down. Hoping it was BH but not really sure as this is our 1st

melliebobs · 29/02/2012 09:56

10 days overdue. Midwife been for a sweep. Couldn't do it cos she 'couldn't reach' it hurt, starting to feel a failure cos my body isn't doing whats supposed to be 'natural' and got to see consultant tommorow

melliebobs · 29/02/2012 09:59

Frizzy at least it's just an appointment to TALK about induction. Mine has been booked for me on Friday with no consultation/discussion with me. Told me this morning I'm not going to it so that's why I have to see consultant tommorow cos where I live it's policy to induce at 12 days!

Indith · 29/02/2012 10:15

Mine are lovely. Was due 21st Feb, MW coming out Friday to try sweep again. If nothing happens will have to go into hospital at +14 for check up, monitoring, maybe scan so check placenta etc but they are happy to not induce so long as everything looks good. then it would be every other day at hospital for checks. 5 years ago when ds was born I was booked in for induction on the evening of +14 though (thankfully ds appeared in the morning!). There wasn't much discussion about it apart from MWs telling hospital to leave me til +14 not +10 as I was a planned HB. Don't know if my having gone to 42 weeks before and so having history of longer pregnancies helps.

Still walking 4/5 miles a day here for various school runs, find the walking pretty easy but I do have to collapse on the sofa afterwards!

Sitting and waiting for my BT Vision box to update. It hasn't been connected for 2 and a half years since we moved house and our internet was too slow to support it. We now have shiny fibre optic internet so have it back but I suspect the updating is going to take some time! Nice to have all the ondemand TV and film rentals back in time for newborn feeding sessions though!

Breadrollsbuns · 29/02/2012 11:47

I'm still here too, 40+6. My BH have become painful at night but no contractions or show. Booked in for another sweep tomorrow then I think induction at some point next week. I am swinging between extreme grumpiness and forgetting that I'm pregnant (despite loo breaks, pelvic pain and the like) - very peculiar feeling. I'm also finding that my dread of labour is increasing exponentially - I haven't been het up about it at all until now, but being overdue seems to have done something to my brain...

Gooseysgirl · 29/02/2012 12:45

40+2 here with DC1... Wouldn't bother me so much only I've got terrible back pain and finding each day getting more and more uncomfortable... am only 5ft tall and look and feel like a freak of nature!! For a bit of fun I'm ignoring lots of the 'any news yet' texts for at least a day each time (except family) but poor DH can't avoid it at work and keeps getting the 'what are you still doing here' comments! Community MW has offered to do a sweep at next appt on Friday. Induction will happen at 40+12 but going to ask if they'll consider 40+10 instead as I really don't want to be brought in on a weekend... In fact I'm so uncomfortable now I'd settle for induction tomorrow, I just want her OUT!!!

DianaXXX · 29/02/2012 18:47

Every day keeps getting harder! And it feels as if the baby is running out of space as my rib cage is killing me!!!
Apparently I'm not dilated at all for any intervention for now Blush

TabithaChanges · 29/02/2012 19:17

So fed up today, don't know how I will look after a newborn and ds , got no family support after first month , will be on own 12 hours a day . Ds has been destroying the house today, I literally can't have anything decorative it all gets trashed , he pulls the blinds so the few things I hide on the windowsill smash / fall off.

Just ranting and feeling sorry for myself , how I will bf when I constantly have to remove ds from eating the tv wire or eating cardboard from the wipes box I don't know. He doesn't talk at all yet either so now I'm worried he has a problem ( he is 16 months ) but everyone says he will be fine and not to worry! Argghh , oh yes got sweep tomorrow with ds leaping around everywhere , great!

Ok rant over. Sigh .

Indith · 29/02/2012 19:32

Tabitha my dear it is so, so, so much easier to have a newborn and a toddler than to be stupidly pregnant with a toddler. Slings are great if you don't already have any, with a newborn I particularly liked to just tie a pashmina into a pouch so I could chuck dd round my back while I sat on the floor and played with ds. Plus, once you get the hang of bf again you can do it with one hand and have the other hand free for waving cars around and reading books. Oh and cbeebies is your friend, you can wean him off it again later Grin.

Don't worry too much about words yet. Anyway, you'll be seeing plenty of your HV again soon so you can always ask her if you have an worries (fwiw ds had about 5 words age 2 and the HV was not at all concerned).

TabithaChanges · 29/02/2012 20:43

Thanks Indith , I had a bath and dh is making dinner so feel better now. Was just ranting , yes I didn't use a sling last time but definitely going to buy one this time. Ds loves books so I know I can read to him or let him flick through and talk about it to him for easier bf.

SilentBoob · 01/03/2012 11:17

I am so uncomfortable.

I am huge.

I am grumpy and fed up.

Know how you feel silentboob , midwife is coming today to do sweep , was told it should be morning but nothing so far. Wondering how long I wait before calling to check they haven't forgotten me.

DianaXXX · 01/03/2012 12:23

I'm gonna be a week overdue tomorrow I'm gonna ask for a sweep tomorrow as I can't do this any more Angry
