FFS if another person brightly tells me that they went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks I will not be responsible for my actions.

Had a sweep today - well tried to, but cervix so high there was nothing much they could do. 1cm open apparently but this is baby #3 so I don't think that means anything.

Baby not engaged.
No pains.
No braxtons.
No cramps.
No show.
Nothing.

RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Am managing to stay cheerful in real life so I thought I'd come here for a rant and a weep. I'm done now. I have been pregnant for a very VERY long time. Could I PLEASE just have my baby now please?

Hi Diana , hope you get a sweep tomorrow , I'm still waiting for midwife , I'm not looking forward to it but at least they will be able to see if anything is happening.

melliebobs · 01/03/2012 13:28

11 days over due now

been to see consultant as i'm declining tommorows induction much to their annoyance. well i'm sorry i don't fit with your NHS flow chart of how things should happen. MLU delivery is pretty much up the spout. Had a scan, fluid and placenta all fine. Arranging for another attempted sweep at the weekend but after yesterday i'm not looking forward to that! Got to see consultant next thursday for monitoring. But if i get that far i officially give up. 18 days overdue is a bit much!

TabithaChanges · 01/03/2012 14:48

Been swept , bishops score of 2 and only 1 cm :( . It was uncomfortable but not as bad as I thought it might be. She had trouble reaching my cervix though so took a bit longer. Nothing seems to have happened except I feel a bit bruised inside.

Ds is having his nap so I just had some choccy biscuits and a glass of milk!

Definitely getting a takeaway curry tomorrow and a small glass of lager not had any for ages. Been eating loads of pineapple too!

TabithaChanges · 01/03/2012 14:51

Melliebobs , it felt like she was trying to use me as a puppet, maybe my midwife was brutal , I'm certainly sore. Really hope your next sweep is successful.

SilentBoob · 01/03/2012 15:27

What's a bishop's score?

Have you thought about trying Reflexology/. my first baby ended up being induced - not great. I had reflexology throughout my third trimester which was wonderful. My reflexologist changed the treatment as i neared my due date - and my second child appeared only 2 days late. the reflexology was wonderful. I found my therapist through the Association of Reflexologists - www.aor.org.uk, you know you will get a properly trained reflexologist through them!!

TabithaChanges · 01/03/2012 17:26

bishop score

SilentBoob · 01/03/2012 19:07

I see. Without fully understanding it I would appear to currently score -1.

TabithaChanges · 01/03/2012 19:27

I have heard of it but only vaguely. 2 is pretty rubbish anyway , will have to see if this sweep has done anything but I really don't think it has. Is it normal to still be sore afterwards?

DianaXXX · 02/03/2012 08:17

Ladies why are we so unlucky and still waiting for our little once :-)

DianaXXX · 02/03/2012 08:22

I'm so petrified of giving birth either way but I really want my baby here With me now! This is my story of how the baby was meant to come into this world lol
I wanted a c section and I got the go ahead with the new government guidelines but than I got scared lol
First one was booked for the 17th of feb ( a week before my due date) so I asked for it to be moved to my due date to give him a chance to be born on his own then when it came to 23rd of feb and still no baby I called up and cancelled again and it was rebooked for the 6th of march, at this point I knew I wouldnt be having surgery but just the fact If I can't go through with the virginal for whatever reason I have the section booked and I could demand for an emergency one! It was a safety net in a way if you like.
Now it's the 1st of march and still no sign of the baby at all! I got a growth scan tomorrow ( as I'm petrified either way! I wanted a c section and I got the go ahead but than I got scared lol

Now it's the 1st of march and still no sign of the baby at all! I got a growth scan tomorrow ( as I will be a week over due) and if all fine inducement booked for the 5th and if that doesn't work out then c section on the 6th!
This is so strange, I was laying in bed last night thinking if I did have my c section on the 17th he would of been 3 weeks on Friday and yet he is still cooking on my belly!
I'm beyond fed up at this point so really of no joy by the 6th of march I will have to have a section then because I would be 12 days overdue and it's dangerous to both my baby and myself :( correct me if I'm
Wrong???Sad
But fingers crossed it wouldn't come to that!!!!
Either way I could understand ladies wanting virginal ang c section electively as its only up to us how we bring the baby in this world, and I couldn't care less about people's judgments over it " too posh to posh" etc.... will be a week over due) and if all fine inducement booked for the 5th and if that doesn't work out then c section on the 6th!

40+12

This baby is taking the piss

russetbella1000 · 02/03/2012 09:32

40+11, meant to have induction today but no beds grrrrrrrrrr!

Indith · 02/03/2012 09:51

Diana it is OK to be scared. Don't worry about being overdue, a normal, healthy pregnancy is anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks, it doesn't magically become hugely dangerous at +12, though as you get more overdue they like to keep a close eye just to catch nay problems if they do arise. Look at it this way, your baby clearly wasn't ready to be born a week before your due date so in cancelling your section you've done him a favour and allowed him to keep growing in what is the safest place for him :) You'll do just fine.

Most annoying comment of the week award goes out to lady in local shop who is also a school mum. "You 10 days over already, hasn't that just flew by" Erm, well it may have flown by for you love bit it certainly hasn't for me!

daisylou79 · 02/03/2012 10:24

I sympathise with all the overdue ladies. I'm not even there yet. I'm due on Monday and am already screening my calls as I cannot handle having to tell anyone else: 'NO, THE BABY IS NOT HERE YET!!'

I will definitely reach snarling and maiming stage if this carries on into next week.

I feel like a watched pot and we all know what happens to them....

DianaXXX · 02/03/2012 11:59

I know what you mean! Comments like
That are just silly!
And I can't bare any more texts and calls asking me " is he here yet" like I can
Control when he will born or something!
Seriously!!!
I just had a scan and the baby seems all fine! Yet no sweep or nothing offered till Tuesday! Blush

TabithaChanges · 02/03/2012 12:55

40+8 now, woke in night with stomach pain , got excited but then realised I needed a poo. Had to poo again a couple of hours ago , which as been getting rabbit pellets recently was strange . Had pains for last couple of hours nothing that bad but definitely floating around type pain.

No idea if this is labour, been losing mucus but after sweep know that's to be expected so it's probably nothing. Really wish it was but I doubt it. Why can't something exciting happen like my waters breaking!

babydust27 · 02/03/2012 14:02

I hope its the start of things for you tabitha

I have a sweep yesterday but havent had any signs that things are starting, i was 2cm dilated so was hopeful but ive given up hoping now

Come on babies we want to meet you!!!

Gooseysgirl · 02/03/2012 14:18

Midwife attempted sweep for me this morning but cervix wasn't effaced or soft... So pissed off, really felt I might be further along than that. She rang hospital and booked induction for 40+12 which is a Saturday, not what I want at all... Also baby has been in a great position all along and now veering towards back to back, midwife also said baby is measuring big for dates! I've gone from being totally relaxed about the birth to being absolutely terrified that it's all going to go horribly wrong. Going to ring hospital to ask for consultant appt early next week to discuss options and get some reassurance. Hormones all over the place now, cried for 45 mins non stop after I left midwife Sad

TabithaChanges · 02/03/2012 15:46

Thanks babydust but nothing seems to be happening now :(

Gooseysgirl I know how you feel. Last time was in pool with gas and air , came out to deliver on all fours on bed. Just did whatever felt natural in mlu. The thought of no pool , being induced , drips , bright lights being in a labour ward etc really stress me out. I know induction is meant to be more painful so then I suppose I will have an epidural and then the intervention cascade will probably begin . I can't stand people faffing with me , I'm dreading it.

melliebobs · 02/03/2012 18:33

Booked for a sweep tommorow or Sunday. Surely at 40+13/14 they'll be able to do something right????????

SilentBoob · 03/03/2012 09:18

Mellie at 40+13 / 14 they will presumably want to induce you. Once I got to 40+14 in my first pregnancy I had to go daily to the hospital for CTG monitoring and regular scans.

You are definitely on course to have your baby soooooooooon.

OP posts:
melliebobs · 03/03/2012 12:52

I was booked for induction yesterday T+12 but cancelled. Had scans etc and baby is fine so they are fine so got to go back for monitoring at T+18

Since I just typed that ^^^^

Just had Mw round to try a sweep. But they couldn't do it Sad Mw not happy about me being left till Thursday so got a home visit on Monday. And see what happens there

They said if at any point I change my mind and want induction I only have to ring

SilentBoob · 03/03/2012 16:13

I was supposed to have a CTG today but didn't make it. Will head to hosp in the morning.

Bit of a Moment earlier when I suddenly realised I couldn't remember feeling the baby move for the last few hours... it's such a difficult thing to know though. Had a very cold sugary drink and woke it up after probably only about 10 minutes, but was rather worried for a while. Seems to be wriggling again tonight, though not as much as normal. Usually it does the macarena in there.

OP posts:
Flisspaps · 03/03/2012 16:48

silent can you not pop to the day assessment unit or something tonight just to check all is well rather than waiting until tomorrow?
