Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

Speaking of celebratory sex....

Has your(anoyone on the board) sex life significantly changed since your BFP?

Sassee · 14/02/2012 21:43

Yep, had none at all! Had my eye on the prize tonight but frankly now too scared, never mind being in the mood!

missbone · 14/02/2012 22:03

I'm too afraid to have penetrative sex, but we find ways around it.

missbone · 14/02/2012 22:18

My Big Fat Gypsy Outrage. Vile.

Angelico · 14/02/2012 23:06

Hang in there Sassee and take heart from Turnwest xo

Sassee · 15/02/2012 05:52

Gah, can't sleep! Appointment is at 7.40 so I'll be getting up soon anyway. No more blood and no cramps or anything so feeling a little more positive this might just be ok. My money is on him agreeing to send me for a scan and it being the same day as my DPs knee operation which is any day now, we've been waiting 5 months for it and he's a self employed builder! If he doesn't get back to work soon this baby will be living in a drawer a la Brittas Empire!

milk · 15/02/2012 07:03

Good luck Sassee

The day of my scan has finally arrived Shock I am around 7 weeks. Got another 6 hours to wait :(

gt79 · 15/02/2012 07:15

Good luck Sasse
Hope all goes well this morning

gt79 · 15/02/2012 07:16

Oops missed an 'e' sorry!

Sassee · 15/02/2012 08:14

I'm being sent for a scan, no hesitation from the Dr. Just need to wait for him to speak to the unit as it was too early. Been told to take it easy today but I'm going to work, I'm only at my desk. Fingers still crossed!

TheGrandOldDuke · 15/02/2012 08:54

Fingers crossed for the scan sassee

Sex? Doesn't having a baby mean like 18 months reprieve??? I have shut up shop! Maybe once i feel less green I'll reconsider, but tbh, not likely Grin

milk · 15/02/2012 09:04

TMI warning:

While changing DS poo nappy just now, it made me vomit and pee myself :( I feel so crap... I pray it is a good sign!

Angelico · 15/02/2012 09:17

Good luck with scans today sassee and milk - thinking about you and keeping fx for happy happy joy joy! :) xo

And milk that sounds like a great sign. Can't think of any other circumstance where I would say that lol :o

Limejelly · 15/02/2012 09:44

Hello can I join please?

I've just got my BFP and honestly I don't know how I feel. We have been trying so I should be over the mood.

I'm two weeks late and had been testing negative until today so really didn't think I was pregnant and feel really shocked ( and quite teary)

I think DP was a bit disappointed with my reaction too Sad

What's wrong with me?

TheGrandOldDuke · 15/02/2012 09:57

Congratulations lime jelly

I felt like you when I had ds1 ( and this time round too) but I was expecting it this time. I always thought it'd be sooooo romantic finding out, and telling the DH, and there'd be music, and overjoyed-ness and rose petals. Actually my first reaction was 'oh shit'. Not in a bad way but in a 'good grief.....what happens now? And also Eeeeek!' kind of way. Give yourself a chance for it to sink in. Also your hormones are going bonkers right now, so crying and freaking out is totally normal. It'll pass.

Congrats again!!! X

Sassee · 15/02/2012 09:59

My scan is tomorrow at 10.30, an internal one, sounds rank. Not sure I can bear the indignity of that with my DP with me, what happened to the magic and romance of a bit of gel on my tummy?!

GonnaNeedABiggerHouse · 15/02/2012 10:25

Think I'm due on October 20th. I'll be quiet til the second trimester though - just saying "hi" and hope to speak later!

TheGrandOldDuke · 15/02/2012 10:27

7 weeks today by my dates... Roll on week 12!!!

Angelico · 15/02/2012 10:47

Sassee sucks having to wait until 2moro but hopefully will put your mind at ease.

Welcome biggerhouse - I can understand why peps stay off boards until 2nd trim hope we all see you then.

Limejelly congrats on BFP! :o Don't worry about being hormonal - with me it's quite intermittent but powerful hormone madness. I only tested for BFP in a fit of rage after what I thought was psychopathic PMT. On Monday our local takeaway had a problem with their phone and I couldn't order the Indian I was almost desperate for. Could cheerfully have gone round and shot the place up. I even emailed them twice to demand that they answer the phone. An hour later was back to normal and slightly bemused by my actions. (I am usually very sane, honestly!) lol

Angelico · 15/02/2012 10:49

Yay Grandoldduke! I'll be 7 weeks on Fri - isn't it awful how you keep thinking "If I can just make it to week 7... week 8... week 9" etc.

milk · 15/02/2012 10:52

Sassee, I had an internal scan a few weeks ago and it honestly wasn't that bad. They turn the lights off and cover down below with a sheet :)

TheGrandOldDuke · 15/02/2012 10:54

Yes, and from experience last time, it doesn't actually stop at week 12. I became totally paranoid at week 35 last time that I was going to be stabbed in the street. Worry worry worry!

Midwife just rang and have booking appt 6th march, which my my counting I'll be nearly ten weeks.... The MW said I'd be 8, so no idea how all the different calcs come about? Every online calculator says 7 weeks today - does anyone know how MWs calculate it??

Sassee · 15/02/2012 11:02

milk did your DP or DH come in with you? This is my first the indginity of it all is driving me mad, I guess I need to learn to deal with this though!

milk · 15/02/2012 11:14

Sassee, DH didn't come with me as he was at work. If I had the option, 2bh I wouldn't want him to be there as he is really annoying. Men are great at some things, but women are better at dealing with emotions- hence why I took my mum.

milk · 15/02/2012 11:14

However, my DH did see me give birth to our DS :)
