Angelico · 12/02/2012 21:17

According to the Bible What to expect book it is a blueberry, not a lentil. I'm 6+2 now so it's maybe a blueberry AND a sesame seed!!!

Angelico · 12/02/2012 21:18

Lol VCarroll :o

elvislives2012 · 12/02/2012 21:23

Wow so many more posts! Hope all ok. Glad I'm not the only one with massive boobies and belly. Still dazed and trying not to get too excited. U are all 8 hours head so hope the morning sickness is ok.... nearly vomited at brekkie again. Think coffee is out...

MamaMaiasaura · 12/02/2012 21:24

Just wanted to wish you all healthy happy pregnancies Smile im from October 2011 thread

marvellousmarie · 12/02/2012 21:33

I'm 6 weeks today. I'm sure it's the size of an orange, I feel so massive! And sick!

I really need to get some new bra's as mine are feeling uncomfortable now!

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 21:59

littlepurpleprincess 1st time around, my MW said "avoid raw shellfish... but then, nobody tends to eat raw shellfish do they??!! Just be careful that its cooked". I would imagine prawns cocktail is ok - its hardly raw oysters & there is the pregnancy guide on MN that had one poster eating 'thousands' of oysters in France and her baby was fine!! If you don't want to risk it, don't, its whatever you feel comfortable with :)

Angelico · 12/02/2012 22:04

Thanks Mamamaiasaura - this time last year you were where we are! Blast from the past! Hope all is well.

Angelico · 12/02/2012 23:50

Right ladies I thought I would have a last winge about how unbelievably tender my bosoms are. Yeoh! If DH so much as looks at them he's getting a slap!

Night night all, sweet dreams :) xo

Beeblebear · 13/02/2012 04:24

Well on week 4 and no sore bb yet, though mine are nearly non existant an always have to shop in the jr section.

To d our parents today. Wrapped up little onsies for them. We are excited and not afraid to share with them. They are our support system. We each also told one friend.

We have some items already donated to us, a strollef, crib, change table etc. but will still need some items and to check recalls.

Will try and wait to 13 to tell others.

Had one other preg when I was young with a late termination and only recall being ill once and no sore breasts or anything, so I hope all goes well this time round

elvislives2012 · 13/02/2012 04:27

Loving the advice re preg vitamins. Anyone know any good ones that are in the US?

Beeblebear · 13/02/2012 04:50

Materna brand is what is pushed here in vcanada. But I looked at the store brand and the ingredients matched 100% so I bought those at nearly half the price. Have been taking them since about october. May need to take an additional calcium though as I am lactose intolerant. I normally take a fortified calcium but have stopped for now until I check with the doc as it would duplicate some of what.s in my multivit

Squigglywiggly · 13/02/2012 08:08

Can I join in! I tested positive over the weekend and theoretically due the 19th! This is my second but still very excited!

marvellousmarie · 13/02/2012 08:23

Welcome sqiggly wiggly! It's my second too! Xx

nenehooo · 13/02/2012 09:42

Woah... one day away and look what I've missed!
We had a busy day yesterday telling both sets of parents... lots of high pitched squealing from Mum & MIL... bless them!
Telling my siblings today - very excited as I know how excited they'll be. I'm the baby of the family by 10 years so they've made it quite clear that they've been waiting very patiently for me to add to the family Grin
DH was a bit Hmm when I said I wanted to tell people this early, but my argument is that they've all been through it - Mum and SIL have had mcs and Dsis has 2 DCs, so their job is to support us through whatever happens. That's family's job, right?! Think we'll tell a couple of close friends too, as one has promised me her baby travel thingy that everyone is going on about Smile

Loved the food/drink article Angelico and funnily enough, absolutely agree with her/your point... this is getting slightly ridiculous now Wink
Luckily I don't really like soft cheese and HATE blue cheese with a passion, so that won't be a problem to avoid. I do love prawns tho... quite often buy the little snack packs from Waitrose with the dip... mmmmmm.... Think I'll have to see if I get the urge, if so I'll be taking ChunkyChicken's advice.
I gave up alcohol whilst TTC and haven't really missed it, but might get some Guinness purely for medicinal reasons - low iron Grin

Angelico · 13/02/2012 10:32

nenehooo would you by any chance be off for half term? I know I am... (cue happy dance) :o

Bear1984 · 13/02/2012 10:36

Hello all. I can add myself to this group as I just found out yesterday!!! that I'm pregnant. I'm due 15 October. Me and DP have been freaking out a bit lol. We're over the moon but really surprised. I've suspected it for the past week as I've been getting really sick in the evenings and then all weekend I've just been wanting to be sick. I already have one DD who is 9, and this will be DP's biological first. We're waiting til the scan before we tell DD though I don't know how I can keep it quiet for that long!

Going GP's tonight to make sure she can confirm it (though I do lots of tests, all positive). I wanted to tell my boss, as I'm currently at work, but she's not in til tomorrow, so I'm just sat here a bag of nerves lol.

Zoeplankton · 13/02/2012 12:34

vcarroll - here it is: good use of £4 www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=allen+carrs+easyway+to+stop+smoking&hl=en&client=safari&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&biw=1024&bih=644&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=11565542622509845503&sa=X&ei=tQE5T7THLMjS8gOXz_WhAg&ved=0CG8Q8gIwAA

What I liked is that the book actually tells you to keep smoking while you're reading it - which I did, but unfortunately, that is not really available to you :(

I had myself convinced that I wasn't that addicted because I didn't smoke a pack a day - oh ha ha ha. It was only when I quit properly that I realised how hooked I really was. Two weeks shy of a year later, I can hardly believe I ever touched cigarettes and I absolutely do not miss them one little bit. So it can be done. (I don't have massive willpower or anything, but by golly did I do what the book told me!)

Zoeplankton · 13/02/2012 12:51

Quick thing about bras -

  1. IMO, the best bras in the world are the cheapie basics from Sainsburys. £10 for two.
  1. if you're in an intermediate state with boobs, is might help: the cup size (letter) is actually based on the chest size (number).

Soooo, the actual amount of boob contained by the cup changes when the number changes.

All these cup sizes are the same:

8d = 10c = 12b = 14a

20b = 18c = 16d = 14e

Kind of puts the whole 'double-d' mystique into perspective, doesn't it? :P

Zoeplankton · 13/02/2012 12:53

...and bubble, don't beat yourself up. You're fighting the good fight against a powerful addiction. I've already recommended the book I used, it might help you too. Good luck and stay tough.
