Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bee1983 · 12/02/2012 19:22

Angelico, you're quite right, I would expect at least an engine for that price!!!

nasara · 12/02/2012 19:25

Hi bee1983 - sorry to hear about the spotting - I'm going through it too - it's very worrying, isn't it. I have a scan tomorrow morning, so trying to be both positive and prepared, iykwim.

(I'm 6+1 btw)

DameFlatYouLent · 12/02/2012 19:32

evening all! I haven't been around for a while - sick as a dog, yet another ?tummy bug, ?horrible morning "sickness".

richardandjudy, I'm also paranoid that I've got bad owing to me because I've had a successful pregnancy and a beautiful boy. I have to remind myself not to be so negative!

re buggies, we were lucky enough last time to get an icandy peach. I thought it'd be great because it can be a double, but actually it was a royal pain in the arse. You have to take it apart to fold, and while it's comfy and pushes brilliantly, it's incredibly bulky & heavy, and at 15m my DS has already basically outgrown the seat unit! THe seat unit for when it's a double is even smaller, so utterly useless. We're currently using a babyjogger city mini (which I love) and when we get closer to EDD we plan to get a Mountain Buggy +one (I would get a phil+ted's but would constantly kick the lower child in the head - I'm tall and very incoordinated). HTH?!

bee1983 · 12/02/2012 19:33

nasara, glad it's not just me! It's just not really what you expect to happen with a pregnancy and I will feel so much better for getting checked out rather than just knicker-checking and worrying. I will be exactly 6+1 too when I have my scan on Tuesday. I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well for you tomorrow - do let us know.

Like TheGrandOldDuke I have been being a bit of a hippy and doing some positive visualisation. Well, it can't hurt, and it gets me off to sleep, ha!

turnwest · 12/02/2012 19:34

Bee- I had some spotting last night but I ve been fine today no signs at all so I m starting to relax again, did some googling and it does seem to be very common and majority of people go on to have healthy pregnancies, fingers crossed for all of us anyway.

Missbone- I hope you'll be back soon, some of your comments have really cheered me up, have you thought of writing some sort of pregnancy blog? You seem to be a good writer?

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 19:37

dameflatyoulent I adore my citi mini baby jogger too! Can you get attachments to make it suitable for newborn do you know??

Littlepurpleprincess · 12/02/2012 19:42

Envy of those that have no syptoms. I feel so sick!

I posted earlier about bras as well. Mothercare were not helpful. Was most embarassing! My boobies hurt!

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 19:49

Have just had a barny at the DH as he won't go and get me cottage cheese from the shops. I NEED cottage cheese. It's the only thing I think I could stomach without hurling. He won't go. Men!!!!!! Tis does not bode well for the next 8 months?? Surely he's meant to be serving my every whim??? Grin

DameFlatYouLent · 12/02/2012 19:55

I think you can, grandold...hang on a min...

DameFlatYouLent · 12/02/2012 19:57

Yes you can! Trying to find a link but can't find one with a price. You can also get carseat adaptors.

Littlepurpleprincess · 12/02/2012 19:58

Grandold How could your DH be so unreasonable?!

It's no good! You'll have to leave the baaaasssttaaarddd!!!! In true MN fashion! Grin

DameFlatYouLent · 12/02/2012 19:59

oh dear, grandoldduke, this doesn't bode well at all! I have no cottage cheese either so can't share I'm afraid. You're going to have to whip him into shape sharpish!

Vcarroll · 12/02/2012 20:00

Duke tell him that is WELL out of order! I use it as an excuse for everything!do what I do and remind him you are currently making vital organs lol. Another good one is that I read somewhere that at this point in your pregnancy you sitting still feel as exhausted as a non-pregnant woman who is running! Sounds good doesn't it? Give it a go! Lol

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 20:01

He was about as helpful last time round so I shouldn't be surprised. But why can't he see the strength of my NEED for cottage cheese??????? It would totally make me feel better. For about 5 minutes anyway Grin

Bubblebell1 · 12/02/2012 20:01

Hey all
littlepp I found m and s were the best for mat bras and nursing bras. HTH x
turnwest I had some more brown cm this morning. It is normal apparently and can e caused by sex or a cervical erosion and even happens after a bowel movement apparently Confused
Good luck nasara and bee for your scans
Kerry dont go! Will miss your posts plus I'm sure we can help lift your mood x

Hello to everyone else. Sooo many on here.

Well I have a confession. After spotting again this morning I had a cigarette. I feel so ashamed of myself but I'm literally going round the twist with worry and I'm really constipated so thought it would help. Blush
I have my Scan tomorrow and I'm really nervous.
Fingers crossed everything is ok.
I still look at baby stuff and already picke names and what pram I want. Grin

Feel sick ad a dog and still cramping so god knows what will happen over the next few weeks just praying alot and pma Smile

Angelico · 12/02/2012 20:01

Bee and Grandoldduke - do you use a tape or anything for your visualisation thing? Or just lie back and think happy thoughts? I quite fancy one of those tapes that makes you go all chilled.

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 20:03

I LOVE the "making vital organs" line. So going to try that next time. ROFL.

Bubblebell1 · 12/02/2012 20:04

Angelico I got a cd from my psychologist ill ask him what it's called as mine is just a copy. But it works wonders even if it's just to relax me Grin

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 20:05

I quite fancy waves and rainforest type music on tape, but that's a different matter. I don't sleep well.

No I just tend to, , imagine all sorts of nice things like rainbows and hearts and flowers going in through my tummy button. Oh and I sing to it.

Vcarroll · 12/02/2012 20:05

Duke - its true! I have a a baby app and that is apparently what i am doing at the moment! Cottage cheese is therefore not too much to ask! :-)

TheGrandOldDuke · 12/02/2012 20:07

When are you due vcarroll? I wonder whether I actually am yet!

Bubblebell1 · 12/02/2012 20:10

vcarrol whats ur app called mite get dp to download it Wink

Vcarroll · 12/02/2012 20:15

I am 5 weeks today and the app is called 'baby centre'. You put in your dates and it's really good it tells you diff stuff every day and shows you pics each week of what your baby looks like now. I am currently the proud owner of a sesame seed! Lol. - I think the app was free as well!

Littlepurpleprincess · 12/02/2012 20:16

Bluebell I did go to M&S in the end but I still had to buy from their "Angel" range. They were labelled "My First Bra". Apparently small breasted women are not allowed babies....
