morning ladies,

jkklpu congratulations and good luck, fx for a boring 8 months.

lara second irene's answer no you don't pull it back, it's too tight anyway to start with. when they get older the advice was to start pulling it back a bit, but i'm not sure if they still advise that.

Daisybell1 · 27/08/2011 09:17

Morning all!

Lara I'm afraid I have absolutely no clue about willy wiping (although my friend didn't instruct me to do it on her son)

Congrats JKKLPU on your news, welcome to the mad house!

Irene fab news on the buggy shopping - I need details Grin PS I have a theory that the thrift fairies beat off the jinx pixies - if its a bargain, then all's well Grin

harassedandherbug · 27/08/2011 09:37

Lara you make me Smile! No pulling back, but a rush of cold air when you take the nappy off can make little boys wee. EVERYWHERE!!! I recommend having a flannel or muslin handy.......

Daisy where did you find the Ugg boot pattern please?? Soo cute! I'm busy knitting, doing a blanket at the moment.

A very quick one from me, dh has a boxing match (is that the word??) today so off to drop dd with mum and shoot off in a bit. Feeling very nervous and emotional about it all, but trying to squash it down.

bigmacandhappymeal · 27/08/2011 12:02

harassed hope all is well today - unscathed and a winner would be the ideal I guess

lara no foreskin advice but i remember from my friends little boy that she used to very quickly put a cloth or wodge of tissue on his nadger when she took his nappy off. This was quickly learnt after a suprisingly powerful arc of wee went in her face. Gak.

I've been to preggers pilates this morning. V good. My flower has been prepped again.

daisy that was driving me nuts, thanks you - it is Bitburger. Phew. And step away from the tesco website - 8 ( :) ) prams is enough!

jkklpu congratulations! Are you also on the freak out thread in conception? Lovely post-MC PG ladies in there who are also from about 5weeks PG. Can recommend it.

How are you doing sunchild?

OP posts:
Velvetcu · 27/08/2011 14:14

arrghhh how can you be told you are too big and too small within 2 hours???

jkklpu · 27/08/2011 17:46

bigmac - thanks for the recommendation; will take a look. Tbh I'd given up following threads to try not to think about it too much, and it seems to have worked.

Yes, arcing wee is one of the risks you have to learn early on, usually from first-hand experience. It also seems to be the case that the times when babies do 3 serial poos in 15 mins are those when you're in a hurry to leave the house and go somewhere. At least that's what I remember.

Daisybell1 · 27/08/2011 18:44

Can I ask a quick me me me question? I feel like I've got full-on, raging PMT - a couple of niggly stomach cramps like period pains, very impatient, and cried in the coffee shop earlier for no reason what so ever, just because I was feeling grumpy. Its not a sign of everything starting is it? Confused

Harrassed Ugg bootie pattern is here. Enjoy!

Velvetcu · 27/08/2011 19:05

Grin Ooooh daisy I hope so I need cheering up I'm a rage monster today.

Daisybell1 · 27/08/2011 19:57

Oh god, don't say that, I haven't got time! I still need to paint her room, rug doctor the carpet as the cat has taken to peeing in there, move her stuff in, and try to regain some semblance of normality across the rest of the house. My parents are here tomorrow for the week to help shift stuff, but I feel bad asking them to paint their grandchild's bedroom!

Velvetcu · 28/08/2011 08:51

So daisy is daisybean making an appearance soon??

PinkFondantFancy · 28/08/2011 09:34

daisy I'm no expert but I'd say whether or not this is things starting, you should defo ask for help-that is hardcore work for a 37 weeks pregnant lady to be doing! Plus I bet your parents would be thrilled to help paint their grandchild's room wouldn't they?

Hello to jkklpu and congratulations on the BFP!

Daisybell1 · 28/08/2011 10:32

Velvet re referring to your size, its just another instance of people talking out of their arse...

Nothing moving here, apart from bean having hiccups, so PMT feelings are clearly just pregnancy rage (see above)

Point taken Pink about doing too much will press parents into action. The rage is wanting OH to actually do it, but he's busy doing a triathlon today so is otherwise engaged Angry

PinkFondantFancy · 28/08/2011 12:20

velvet what has triggered the rage monster today? I've had the same thing about size - I agree with daisy, people try to make conversation but aren't sure what to say, so they end up with a 50/50 chance of going for 'big bump' / 'small bump'. Still, it could be worse - DH has been encouraging people to touch my outie belly button..... Shock Grin

I met the lovely dachs today! She is fab Grin

sunchild77 · 28/08/2011 14:01

Hello hello Ladies... Thank you for all the lovely supportive vibes!
I'm here and all is fine. Baby is measuring spot on in every way - whew! very very relieved.... We were asked if we want to know the sex, and as much as I'd love to know, we are keeping it a surprise until the day... I feel its a bit like opening your Christmas presents early....... Ahh!

Freezing I always thought my Due date was 7th Jan, but they moved me back a day to the 6th, and it confused me, but I'm not complaining if it means the c/s gets done any sooner... I had a consulatant appt a couple of weeks ago and the narky knickers Registrar I saw says they'd do it at 39 weeks whatever the date...(But I happen to know they don't do them on wednesdays, or weekends unless emergencies)... I have another appt at 34 weeks to get a date... I'm still guessing the week inbetween Christmas and New Year.

Daisy maybe you are starting to dilate a bit? ((I need to check the list for your due date.. :) ))

I bought my first baby related purchase yesterday - was out a Next clearance outlet shop, I got a gorgeous Hubgry Caterpillar sleepsuit, its white with red trim £10 its "Up to 1 month" size, but looks massive......

I am constantly starving and living from meal to meal at the moment. If I get hungry I start feeling ill.... Anyone else the same? I get busy and forget to eat, then I get the horrible wave of nausea.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

bigmacandhappymeal · 28/08/2011 14:54

sunchild that's great news :) We also decided to hold out to find out the flavour. I find that if I let myself get hungry I turn into a hellbeast. This is not much different to pre-PG to be honest but i try to eat loads little and often.

Daisy I feel bad now. How could I deprive you of your fun at this time?! Please feel free to perv at the pram and/or purchase :)

velvet people are arses aren't they. At pilates late last week I was told that I was big for dates. At yesterday's session teeth were sucked and I was told I was small. By the same person. idiot. I asked if she had MW training.

Lovely that pink and dachs have met! I keep wondering when one of us will get outed as a 50 year old bloke called Gav in RL...

OP posts:
DiffedAgainDachs · 28/08/2011 16:14

I would just like to say pink is also fab. As is her bump and her DH :)

cep · 28/08/2011 16:44

sunchild yay on a great scan.

IreneHeron · 28/08/2011 19:40

How nice Pink and Dachs, glad you had a lovely meet up.

Sunchild I was like that with the food and nausea thing but thankfully it passed after 13 or 14 weeks.

Having said that DS has just been honking up big time and I'm hoping it isn't a D&V bug he's got because that's the last thing I want to catch. We were at a friend's house which made it a bit embarrassing. I'm wondering if he could have caught chickenpox off the boy down the road, time will tell.

I've been thinking of all my friends in America, wish I was visiting New York and North Carolina rather than my namesake hurricane. A lovely NY shopping trip would be great, I love the baby clothes in Old Navy and Target. Still, had a good shopping day today on the market, got a Monsoon poncho for £3 and a cashmere jumper for a fiver. I think the poncho will be fab for breastfeeding in during the winter.

DiffedAgainDachs · 28/08/2011 19:41

is there something you want to share with us bigmac? Or should we call you Gav.....

Velvetcu · 28/08/2011 20:33

pink rage monster was triggered by my mother! I never ask for anything be it money, emotional support, physical help nothing whereas my sister is the complete opposite. My hips have been terrible for the last couple of weeks so I asked her if she could come over and Hoover for me. That was 2 weeks ago and she called yesterday while I was hoovering the stairs to say she had been busy but could help next Tuesday! Well she looks after my niece 3 days a week and I know she has been to my sisters once a week to pick up her dirty washing from the floor and take it home to wash, tumble and iron it!!!! AngryAngryAngry

Sorry for the rant! It pisses me off because she always complains that I'm not close to her and I don't let her help me!

Wombat33 · 28/08/2011 20:34

Hello peeps!!! Sorry I haven't been around. SPD/PGP is playing up big time and computer is upstairs so I've not been online much. I'll try and do a catch up properly once I've read through all the posts I've missed. For now, just a quick congrats to PV and huge hugs all round xxx

PS as the arbiters of good taste in all things baby related, what do you think of Henrietta/Hettie for a girl?? Be honest. We're not decided yet...

CollieandPup · 28/08/2011 20:38

Hello ladies! I've missed way too much to catch up so sorry I know I'm going to muss lots!

Firstly in my quick delurk the other day I also meant to post to say I was very sorry to read about the passing of magic, I didn't know her, but her loss is so very tragic to her family.

Congrats again to owl I hope you and Robin are enjoying lots of cuddles.

Whoop for PV too!!!! Congratulations!

And tigger I hope the twins are doing well? Did you name them? Have I missed that?

Loving the soppy talk and group hug, and I know this was days ago, but I'd also like to add that I love you all. Many of you have been a life line for me from the very beginning of the year when I was getting over my mc and the rest of you a life line to get me to here. I love coming on here every day and reading about how you all are and sharing our experiences.

Welcome to the newbies, it's been a while since anyone took the plunge over from the FO room so it's excellent to see you and that you are doing well.

Think I read someone was team blue? milky maybe? YAY!! I'm team blue too!!

Who asked about alcohol? irene? I've nit really had any. A half a Guinness at about 13 wks, a glass of vino at about 16 and a glass of prosecco last week for DHs birthday which I drank half of, felt dizzy and funny and had to move tables by the window!! Think that's my body telling me no thanks!! Loving non alcoholic beer too though. I like Bavaria, found that to be less bitter than becks. Cobra is ok too and is under £2 for 4 in sainsburys!! Bargain!

tunnocks and bigmac enjoying the objective setting! Think I'd like to add:
-lose all pg weight (and previous mc weight) but keep a bit on the boobs
-keep new glowing complexion (which has FINALLY arrived) and silky hair
-remember that I no longer have an excuse for wind Blush
-do not leave baby anywhere -i.e in supermarket car park.....will baby brain go or get worse??!!!
-touch my toes, just because I can!

Pink LOVE the ugg boots!!! Sooooo cute!!!

God tips on willy wiping people! I shall remember!

sunchild yay for god scan.

I think people were talking about movement last week. coconuts was it you that went to hosp bcs of reduced movement? I was just wondering what people count as reduced movement? Think whoever it was said baby gad been quiet for the evening. This made me think about what I would take notice of as I think I would just wait until he had been quiet for day or so.... But is that too long to wait? (not particular worried now, just wondering) Now he is bigger i feel him a lot and he's generally very active throughout the day (and night!)

Also, I don't know if I mentioned it before but I have this pain running from under my right boob down. Kind of at the top of my rib cage. Actually it's less of a pain (although a bit if a pain) but more of a numb tingly sensation. In fact, it's got worse and now a patch of my skin is numb 60% of the time? Does this sound like something to be worried about?

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday?! We went for country walk today. Left with sunglasses but actually needed rain coat -got SOAKED!!! After drying off went to cinema and just watch the inbetweeners!!! V funny!!! Hehe!!

Looking forward to meeting you northerners next sat!! Are we still on?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 28/08/2011 20:47

collie Yes it was me who went in. I hadn't felt him move for around a day and a half and they said I'd left it too long. They said to me it is hard to notice sometimes, especially if you have other kids or are generally busy, you don't get that time to just sit and concentrate on it at random points in the day.

so if you think things are a bit quiet they said to go have a drink, lay down, and really concentrate on it and if after a couple of hours still nothing then call/go in. All was ok once I'd got there obviously, but if I hadn't have gone and he hadn't have been quiet then I wouldn't have found out about my other problems so it was ablessing in disguise really :)

Hope everyone else is ok, I've not been about much lately, been feeling a bit sorry for myself at the mo. Next scan Thursday.

CollieandPup · 28/08/2011 20:55

Thanks coconuts that makes sense as sometimes when I'm busy or up and about I could easily go half a day without feeling-or noticing- movement. But I suppose if I sat and concentrated I would. Its just hard to find a balance between trying not to stress about every little change and not leaving anything too long. He has been over active the past few days, really kicking the sh*t out of me, which in one breath I took as being good, but then another worried it meant something was wrong! The metalling never ends!!!

Glad all was ok for you! X

CollieandPup · 28/08/2011 20:56

Why are you feeling Sad coconuts ? scan is good right? X
