yay congratulations PV that has got to be the shortest list topping in history hasn't it?? Oooooh Orange it's all yours now!! And when did I get so high up it? I can almost see the top although I'm very grateful to have a few of you above me still :)

miniV is being quite annoying today! she has her legs above my ribs and her bum underneath them :( this is not at all comfortable when sitting for 4 hours tutoring thick yr 6s!!

Minnie74 · 25/08/2011 18:30

PV tonnes of congratulations. Brilliant news x

Freezing yay for being on the list Grin

cep good luck for the gtt

bigmac love the swimming pool story. I love swimming but can't stand the getting changed in minging changing rooms at the best of times so just can't be arsed now.

Had a major crying fit yesterday when DP shouted at me for getting upset about the size of my boobs-which I know I've moaned about before Blush I'm now 30H and my bump is still 3 inches smaller than my boobs so I just look fat not at all pregnant. I was moaning yet again and DP went mad (very unlike him I have to say so maybe I was overdoing it a bit Blush). It ended up in a big argument about how unsupportive he's being. He won't discuss buying anything and isn't interested in even talking about things really. He did apologise later and said it's just because it could all still go wrong so there's no point getting excited. Sad I suppose I didn't realise he felt like that and it came as a bit of a shock cos he's usually pretty upbeat. I'm obviously just a selfish cow! Hmm

Sorry for the me me me rant! (basically what I said to DP yesterday really Smile)

Don't know who mentioned mint aeros but had to buy one today -yum!

tiggersreturn · 25/08/2011 18:42

Congratulations pv! hope recovery goes ok. We're in another scbu so not much time to post.

Velvetcu · 25/08/2011 18:44

oh forgot to say Irene I've been having the odd shandy or wine spritzer every now and then (maybe once a month)

sunchild77 · 25/08/2011 19:15

Seeing as Freezing has bitten the bullet and joined the list, I thought I should too. I'm Sunchild77 (aka updiffed) and have been around for a wee while, but not a hugely prolific poster.....So hello again, and I hope you don't mind me joining in a bit...

PinkFondantFancy · 25/08/2011 19:52

irene another Becks blue fan here!

  • I remember you from another thread, maybe the TTC thread? Really nice to see new peeps joining the list!
sunchild77 · 25/08/2011 21:31

Yup was on the TTC thread :) Nice to be remembered! LOL
I have 20 week scan tmw, and Im mentalling quite a bit tonight... Scared in case there is something wrong. ah!

Really want to try the Becks Blue as having a curry isnt the same with a pint of ribena LOL

mamapower · 25/08/2011 21:59

Prettttttttty huge congrat's missus Grin Grin xxxxxxxx

Freezingmyarseoff · 25/08/2011 22:31

Waves at Sunchild I remember you from the TTC thread, although I was probably just lurking by then. Glad I persuaded someone else to join too!
I've got myself a bit confused because I'm pretty sure I had the same dates as you on the freak out thread (updiffed right?) but I've now gained a day Confused. That's me taking the "try to not to think about this pregnancy" a bit too far I think. Anyway like you I'll also be having an ELCS, so I guess our delivery dates will mostly be based on whether the consultants can be arsed to come in to work between Christmas and New Year Grin

cep · 26/08/2011 07:04

morning ladies,

minnie my dh doesn't like talking about anything either, that's why i'm grateful i can come on here and whinge when i need to. (even if just about him. Grin )

i'm feeling sorry for myself this morning, i'm hungry already.

PinkFondantFancy · 26/08/2011 08:12

Minnie you're not selfish-if he's not talking about how he feels, how are you supposed to read his mind??? FWIW I was terrified about buying stuff too but have eventually got around it by thinking that whether or not I buy anything actually has no impact on the chances of whether it goes wrong, and frankly if it does, having to return some stuff will prob be the least of my worries.

CEP how much longer to wait? You poor thing, it sounds horrible.

Pregnancy yoga today, yay!

Daisybell1 · 26/08/2011 08:38

Many many congrats PV that's lovely news! Enjoy all those snuggles and cuddles Grin

Minnie I'm so sorry to hear about your row with DH - they don't realise, do they, that they need to tell us how they're feeling, they can't just expect us to know. And you are NOT a selfish cow!

good luck for your scan today.

Cep hang on in there, but you have my every sympathy. Doing the fasting glucose was bad enough for me! Can you drink anything? I was allowed clear liquids ie black tea which took the edge off for me. What time is your appointment?

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all fine and dandy! Am over to a friend's today for more nappy changing/winding practise. Only difference this time is that OH has instructed me to take my labour bag - gulp.

PinkFondantFancy · 26/08/2011 09:19

Oh good luck for your scan today sunchild, will be keeping everything crossed for you

Purpletoes · 26/08/2011 10:51

Delurks briefly

Congrats mrs pv have fun with your little girl.

Good luck with scan sunchild

Freezingmyarseoff · 26/08/2011 11:18

Good luck for your scan sunchild

Oh daisy I'm impressed you are practising nappy changes & winding.

Cep I'm always hungry

Sorry on my phone so can't scroll back but waves to all

LaraandLittleBean · 26/08/2011 11:47

Hello All

Wowsas - awesome news PV - so happy for you! Wishing your family lots of love and happiness together. Huge congrats (news like that always brings a tear to my eye!)

Sunchild - good luck with the scan! Mentalling is normal and allowed pre-scan... Everyone said to me to "enjoy it" which made me want to throttle them but I have to say it was one of the fabbest experiences ever.

Cep - have you had the GTT yet? St Georges is very considerate and schedules all the tests early to stop pregnant women getting too hungry!

Daisy - hope the practise goes well? I have a concern re. little boys and willy wiping... I am sorry to sound gross but do you have to pull back the foreskin to clean behind it??? Am hoping DH will be my willy-wiping teacher.

Tigger - how are the babies?

Cep - my DH is a moody sod all the time. I think it's due to lack of bedroom action (the mere suggestion of which starts a blazing row). He also seems to be indulging in frigging annoying blokey conversation at work about what a nightmare his pregnant wife is... He doesn't realise how bloody lucky he is - I have cried a grand total of twice, stormed out of the room once (crying at the same time so one of those crying incidents don't count) and I am still behaving totally normally 95% of the time.

Did I tell you that M&Ps have delayed our furniture order by a whole month? Bloody annoying... Well, I have managed to negotiate them to build it for us as part of a sorry-for-poor-customer-service-offering. DH is quite pleased that one of his weekends will now be salvaged.

On the subject of customer service (and nothing to do with pregnancy), this AM I treated myself to a muffin from a well known coffee outlet. It was rubbish. Minus all fruit and choc and so just bland cake. I sent them an email to complain and they wrote back within 30 mins to say sorry and that they'd send me vouchers. Score! (I clearly don't have enough work to do today)

Thanks for well wishes to dog. I think medicine must've come a long way since my dogs were spayed when I was a child... She must be on some super strong painkillers because she's fine. In fact, she's happier than she is normally (wagging her tail for everything) so perhaps they're happy pills. Only annoying thing is that the dogs and bean seem to have synchronised their night-time routine. I have been waking up every morning at 3pm and 5pm exactly and both times the dogs are pacing the hallway like weirdos and bean is kicking my stomach. Perhaps it's some sort of strange dog-baby synchronisation.

Baby had hiccups in my meeting this morning. Most distracting.

A delayed reply but the communal changing rooms at my gym drive me insane... Especially as all the svelte gym bodies like to prance around naked. I have a super sized bath sheet to hide my whale-like modesty.

Oooohhh - confirmed when I'll be starting my mat leave. I have three weeks of hol and plan to officially start mat leave at 38 weeks so I'll be off from 35 weeks. Very exciting

I fancy jerk chicken.....

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/08/2011 12:14

I love jerk chicken... so good. MrB makes an amazing sauce but I'm having to get him to go easy on the scotch bonnets due to heartburn

sunchild hello! Yep, pre-scan mentalling is completely fine. hope all goes well and look forward to hearing all about it

How are you doing cep?

minnie you are not alone. MrB refuses to engage in any discussions about how I look at all, even when I want reassurance. Silly arse.

Got myself in a tither this morning when I was convinced i had period cramping. Was about to call the hospital when I put 2+2 together and realised that I needed to go to the loo Blush. Such an idiot and this is 26+ weeks down the line.

Irene I'm a becks blue gal as well. THere's another German brand with a random name that's very good as well but Brian has struck. Will see if I can remember it. Basically though I've been off the booze as the smell was repellent to me. Now it's not too bad but I'm just not bothered which is very unlike me.

pink I'm doing preggers pilates (we were opening and closing our flowers last night. Ahem.) but thinking about doing yoga too for the breathing. Wonder if this might be confusing though?

Sorry for the essay

Thanks for thinking of me ladies, i will be glad to never do that again. What a horrible morning that orange gloop is disgusting, then i was told i couldn't even have any water which i thought i could so i hadn't even had a drink before i went as had had no time. Found myself nearly passing out about 30-40 mins before the second lot of tests. ended up lying on the bathroom floor trying not to pass out, then about 10 mins later was lying on a bench outside again trying not to pass out. when i got over that one went in and spoke to the head nurse in office said i was feeling bad, and i was portered down to the maternity outpatients for blood pressure, rest of bloods taken and then tea and toast. sooo embarrassing.

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/08/2011 15:01

Was it nice toast though cep? :) That sounds like a rubbish morning. Hope you have a nice afternoon planned.

Glad dog is OK lara

Ooo tunnocks I love the objectives, just right for a Friday (i've found it really hard to apply myself this week. Bad bigmac) All going well, I'll only be managing DC1 but I would add to your list...

  • successfully feed DC2 whilst simultaneously keeping DS entertained

  • cope with simultaneous meltdowns by both DCs in a calm manner

  • somehow manage to get more than 3 hours' sleep a night

  • successfully blowdry hair and apply basic make up without neglecting child

  • manage to leave house without clothes being inside out or boobs hanging out

  • to continue pelvic floor exercises long term so that I have a rejuvenated fanjo

  • to DtD regularly and with great enthusiasm, unlike this year.

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/08/2011 15:45

Obviously don't have enough to think about today at work. I've got myself in a flap about caffeine. I have no more than 4 cups of tea a day but realise from looking properly on Dr Google Blush that this is too much. With that plus my choccie as well I think I'm overdoing it. Anyone else in the same boat?

OP posts:
LaraandLittleBean · 26/08/2011 15:54

OMG Pink - just saw your Ugg boots... how on earth did you make those you clever, clever lady?! Am v envious on several fronts: 1) that my creative skills are zero; 2) that I don't own a pair and 3) that I'm not cooking a little girl to give a pair to....

You are one talented lady - they're gorge...

PinkFondantFancy · 26/08/2011 16:13

Ooooon no lara I can't take any credit, it was my mum that made them!! Apparently they were 'easy' and she did it from start to finih in an afternoon!!!! daisy found the pattern on the Internet, not sure if she's made them or not yet. Not sure whether mini pink is a girl or boy but I thought they'd probably look boyish enough if I put them with some dungarees or something. Plus I have a sneaking girl suspicion anyway.....

CEP you poor thing, your morning sounds dreadful :(

teacake have a lovely week away!

Doh I can't scroll back!!! Sorry to anyone I've missed... Xx

jkklpu · 26/08/2011 19:48

I had a mc at 8 weeks back in mid-March and some of you ladies were very sweet to me. Just found out today, quite to my surprise, that I'm pregnant - a little over 5 weeks, I reckon. It's great to see how many of you have lovely follow-up stories. Crossing my fingers I can be just like you. And to others still waiting nervously, here's someone else thinking of you as well.

IreneHeron · 26/08/2011 20:25

Lara re willy wiping, no you don't pull back the foreskin, it doesn't go back to begin with anyway. Just make sure you get all the mess off the wrinkly ball skin.

Jkklpu congratulations! That is lovely news.

Bigmac I'm only drinking decaf tea and coffee, I find it tastes fine. I'll have a proper cup of tea if I go to a friend's house. I do like a hot drink so this is the answer for me.

Tunnocks Where are you going in Scotland? Anywhere near me?

I bought a buggy today. We threw DS's ones out as they were worn out and a bit rubbish. Got one from Tesco Home on offer for £75, total bargain. It had fairly good reviews online and it has a car seat attachment, rain cover and is suitable from birth. I'm quite chuffed with it. I also managed to get a buggy cosy to fit it for £7 in the discount section. I love a bargain, me!
