velvet mine tends to travel down so goes down my buttocks from the pain in my back, and down my thighs from the groin.

roast pork was yummy, ended up having the mil come over with my niece for it as well, she brought her own chicken and salad, am i being a bit of a polly anna or is that a bit rude??? she said she didn't know what roast i was doing so brought it.

i actually keep getting a bit confused over clothes, i have everything from ds but he was a may baby, but everytime i think that i may need different types eg longer sleeves at earlier age, my mind just goes blank. I'm hoping once ds is in his new bedroom and i'm on mat leave i can get all the clothes out again and just check what i have for what season. But everytime i try to discuss it with dh he just whinges about cost and waiting till it's here cause it could be a "stumpy thing" we're talking 6 months difference, ihope it's not going to be that stumpy.

Minnie74 · 21/08/2011 15:52

Daisy good luck with the NCT classes. We've just booked ours (not NCT though as all near were booked up till Jan) It's a midwife run one at a local children's centre -only 3 evenings but it was only £40 so way cheaper than NCT. Hopefully it'll still be useful.

wombat congrats on being full term that's so exciting Smile

velvet and cep Sad for the SPD it sounds dreadful. The crackling sounds delicious though cep I sooo want some now! Hope your mil felt really jealous when she saw your gorgeous roast while she was stuck with a rubbish salad! Sort of thing mine would do!

collie Envy for the sunshine beach. And the 5 course meal!

I'm really suffering with stomach cramps today and all last night (didn't sleep till 5 o'clock this morning)- major pain across my bump but mainly low down and to the sides. Not sure what it is and nothing seems to be making it better. Confused Could it just be ligaments stretching? Checked the baby's heartbeat and it's still there so that's good. Hopefully it'll wear off soon.

Daisybell1 · 21/08/2011 18:03

Thank you all

Well, I survived... but blimey there are some odd people up here. Is it obligatory to have the oddballs, the posh couples, and the couple that know everything??? I only cried once (which was a result!) but that was at the end of the session talking about birth which always overwhelms me.

There was more postnatal stuff than I had expected which was good, and less labour stuff (this week) which was even better

Ooch to all those with PGP, you really have my sympathies! And yes, I would imagine taking my own food to lunch as being very precious!!!

Cep I really hope you feel better soon, and Collie your holiday sounds fab!

PinkFondantFancy · 21/08/2011 19:55

Just a quickie, back tomorrow but minnie please call your labour ward/day assessment unit/whoever is on your notes for out of hours calls - when I had some stomach cramps and talked to them on the phone they insisted that they would always want to check out cramping. Please don't just rely on your doppler, my MW has some cautionary tales about that :( I don't want to frighten you but I think it's very important to get cramping checked out.

bigmacandhappymeal · 22/08/2011 08:57

morning all
Glad NCT went well daisy and collie I am also Envy of your holiday

The southern meet up was postponed yesterday - lots of very achey PG women so we need to sort another date out in the near future. Hope you are all feeling OK today southern ladies? I had another PG meet up on the Saturday - some friends from uni that I haven't seen since last year and we are all 25+ weeks PG, all post MC... including the host who was 38wks.

To cut a long story short, we were all gossiping in the living room and our host went to the loo and her waters broke! It was mad - the remaining preggers people including me went into overdrive - someone was cleaning the kitchen floor, we were stacking the dishwasher, hoovering, making her partner a packed lunch (while he was assessing the situation upstairs!) with a focussed determination that scared us all! Meanwhile our other halves were all sitting stunned and looking a bit ashen. As yet there is no baby although all is well... it certainly focussed the mind and MrBigMac and I were in mothercare/M&P yesterday trying out prams Wink

cep I am almost drooling at the thought of crackling and it's not even 9am.

Have a good day - sun is shining here which is lovely

bigmacandhappymeal · 22/08/2011 08:59

ps sorry but also wanted to see that MrBigMac felt the happymeal moving around for the first time last night. It was really lovely. I've got an anterior placenta and was getting a bit fretful that he would never feel it.

OP posts:
bigmacandhappymeal · 22/08/2011 09:00

gah! *say not see... dozy tart.

OP posts:
harassedandherbug · 22/08/2011 09:23

Morning!

Another spd'y one here. Bug stopped moving Sat evening so had a checkup on Sunday and all was fine thank goodness. Was very scary though! In the space of 2 mins the mw recommended walking for swelling, and then resting for spd . Bloody hurts today though so it's good that I'm in the office! I'm going to get another physio appointment today I think, she said to phone her when it was a problem.

Is anyone feeling overly emotional/sensitive? I don't if I'm being "overly" tbh, but spent much of last night in floods of tears. Dh and I will be having a bit chat after his fight next weekend.

wombat yay to being full term! Well over due now .... Grin. Any signs??

Bigmac fab story!! Women just go into coping mode I think. I also have an anterior placenta, but it's nice and high! How many weeks are you now?? Dh can't feel a thing yet and I'm 22+4. Nice to know that he will eventually!

Minnie I agree with Pink, get it checked out lovely.

Collie am Envy. You're in my favourite area!

Daisy glad you survived Grin! We haven't bothered with NCT, they don't have a great rep round here, born out by a couple of my preg yoga ladies.

Oh, Bug did his first kick hard enough for me to see my tummy move! Quite a feat given that I have an anterior placenta. So he's either very strong or a good shot to miss it!

bigmacandhappymeal · 22/08/2011 11:12

I'm with you harassed on the over emotional/sensitive front. Very easily slighted, crying at least 5 or 6 times a week (last night it was a song) and I go from fine to riled in about 0.000125 of a second. Poor MrBigMac :)

I'm 25+6 so it's taken a while for him to feel it. At my MW appt last week she said my placenta was high as well which means that if the HappyMeal is low, he can be felt which is great (apart from the impact on my bladder). I'd say the bug is strong and a good shot - he obviously wanted to make his presence felt!

Luckily I don't seem to have been hit with the SPD stick yet - my back and hips get sore but that's it - i really feel for anyone who has it.

owlbooty · 22/08/2011 11:49

Hello lovelies :)

Sorry for the epic delay. Homebirth plan went tits up as Owlet is 8lb13 and got wedged slightly sideways which prevented him emerging via the normal exit. One unplanned (but extremely calm as he wasn't distressed) section later; Robin has arrived - he's gorgeous and chubby and has feet like a hobbit plus his mother's comedy giant hands as well. He arrived on 18th Aug in the evening. The whole experience has taught me an important thing; a 36 hour labour that ends in a section doesn't neccessarily mean you've had a shit birth experience if you are treated well and feel you have some control over what is happening, which was how it was from start to end. I was home in 48 hours and feel pretty damn good - and he's the most gorgeous baby on the planet Grin

Daisybell1 · 22/08/2011 11:55

Oh Owl thats gorgeous news about Robin's arrival! Many, many congratulations. I'm sorry the HB didn't go to plan, but as you say, that doesn't mean that it was pants.

Am so, so happy for you and Mr Owl. Enjoy all the cuddles

Minnie74 · 22/08/2011 12:07

Yaaaaaay Owl congratulations on Robin's arrival! Grin Sounds like you had a good experience too which is fab.

Cramps have stopped thank goodness - more just an occasional pain when I'm moving - and the little guy is wriggling around and kicking like normal. I'm thinking maybe it was more stomach than bump related as we'd been out for a meal the previous night and I did eat a bit much! I will definitely ring the mw if it starts up again though.

Pink what does your mw say about relying on the doppler as I do have a bit of a tendency to do that (well especially before when I couldn't feel him kicking)

IreneHeron · 22/08/2011 12:23

Yay Owl. Congratulations! I kind of hope I get a birth like that. Wouldn't mind another CS.

nickstermum · 22/08/2011 12:47

yey for the safe arrival of Robin.. :) two babies with giant hands then... Corey has long arms to go with them lol.

Hope you are recovering and relishing each moment!

cep · 22/08/2011 13:17

yay congratulations owl so glad Robin arrived safely.

I'm emotional as well, keep losing my temper really quickly, doesn't help that dh likes winding me up. It also annoys me when dh blames my moods solely on hormones, i know part of it is, but he needs to take some credit.

bigmacandhappymeal · 22/08/2011 13:24

Congratulations owl and welcome to the world Robin! Birth sounds incredibly positive despite the change of plans (plans are made to be changed I find) and I am delighted for you Grin

minnie glad everything has calmed down

PrettyVacant1 · 22/08/2011 16:01

Well Heeellloooo EverybodyPeeps'! Grin

First of all hooouge congratulations to Boot's and the safe arrival of gorgeous Robin. SmileSmile

Dachs, again whoop for you honey.
I am wibbling and shaking on your behalf.

Minnie, Glad all has settled sounds like you've got one who likes keeping you on your toes.

Sorry I've not been very involved in this thread, I have lurked from time to time, a few of you I know on Bookface and a few of you I've not had the pleasure to get to know properly.
This week has been very emotional to say the least, as you already know we lost a beautiful lady who some of us had the pleasure of meeting but more had the equal pleasure of her love, wisdom, wit and support.

Magic was one of the ladies responsible for this thread and also Just MC, TCC... the important feeder threads before.

I guess what I'm trying to say is treasure each other, the support you provide one other is truly precious.
The Ladies that have helped me through the past two years I now class as friends, I'd love to meet them all eventually but even if we don't, it doesn't matter I still treasure them.

So, after 6 MC including a tricky Molar I'm top of the list.
Thank you to everyone who helped me finally get there, I love you all. xxxx

I will hang about but I'm booked in pretty soon, so best of luck to you all, look after each other and carry on the Magic.
