coconut that sounds like a rubbish day. Really glad that the bean is Ok after monitoring and it sounds as though the care team are on the ball (if unable to communicate clearly with you which is very frustrating). What are you doing tonight? Hope you are finding a way to take it easy and try to relax? On behalf of the bigmac household I am administering a (((superhug))). Please forgive any gherkin bits that get left behind.

Had my 25wk appt today and turns out I don't get the GTT test with my hospital. Not sure whether I should care about this or not really. Other than that a really helpful chat with the MW and I've come away feeling good for once.

cep was thinking about you today and that you had been quiet for a bit. Hope the scan goes really well tomorrow

mmm a bigmac superhug is great... I bloody love gherkins Grin

Not doing anything tonight, sent DH to the shop to get snacks and just watching some two and a half men and pigging out :)

I wouldn't worry about not getting the GTT. They only usually do it if you have a high BMI, PCOS or if you have had a large baby previously. Glad you had a positive appt :)

nickstermum · 18/08/2011 22:35

Just wanted to pop in to pay my respects to Magic8 x
We never met in RL but you inspired me in many ways through your caring nature on here... and your support for others in their times of need. You were a beautiful person and You will be very much missed my lovely and my heart goes out to your beautfiul children XX

LaraandLittleBean · 19/08/2011 09:02

Can I have a bigmac superhug too? Not for any reason - I just want one!

Coconuts - I hope you're feeling okay, have the reassurances you need and have a plan you're happy with. Try not to stress.......

BigMac, I wouldn't worry about not having the GTT (my results were normal BTW). I was at risk for three reasons - Asian heritage, diabetes in the family and also PCOS.

It's a little early in the morning for this but thanks too to all of you for your reassurances about the lack of DTD and weird DH-behaviour that quite a few of you are having on that front. I think it has become a big issue with me - it utterly peeves me off. In many ways I have never felt so good physically and I get so mad when I hear about the amazing DTD-ing some posters are having. They talk about how their bodies have changed in many ways and how it's impacting the physical side of their relationships (positively) and I think that I bloody well wouldn't know how certain parts of my body have changed because my stupid DH won't come anywhere near me. BigMac - my DH makes the same jokes and my response is the same. I also think it's a myth when people cruelly say that the minute their wives / OHs fell pg, the bedroom antics stopped (blaming their wives)... I think the men can be as responsible....

Gahhhhh.....!!!!!

Off to console myself with breakfast - a decaf latte, peanut butter on toast and some fruit salad.

harassedandherbug · 19/08/2011 09:21

I was so sorry to hear about Magic8. I knew her through lurking! Such a sad loss. Thinking of her family. I've signed up to knit some squares for a blanket for her family, can anyone else knit?

Can I have hugs too???? No idea why, just a bit wobbly at the moment! Which is some of the reason I haven't been on for a bit, but also because I had some time off with dd. It was lovely. Except the bit when we went to the cinema to see Mr Poppers Penguins. I can't stand Jim Carrey, so it was torture!

You're all making me feel like a slapper with the lack of dtd, I'm gagging for it Blush!!! Unfortunately dh isn't up for it as much as me as he's training twice a day, every day for his fight.....

Coconuts that sounds incredibly stressful and worrying, but at least they're taking good care of you. Why do these bubbas always start moving as soon as the machine is switched on???!

Lara your shopping was gorgeous!!

Bigmac do you think you need a GTT?

So much to catch up on, I don't think I stand a chance! But will have a read.

Oh Cep good luck for today!!!

bigmacandhappymeal · 19/08/2011 09:39

Ok ladies - here it comes, brace yourself as it's going to be a goodun....

(((SUPERHUGS))) for all!

Including me (self-hugging - is that rude?). Just heard that my cousin has had her baby - guessed she was PG when I was in December and was confirmed after I MCd. They've had a lovely healthy baby boy and I am delighted but also had to have a snivel at my desk with what might have been. They are in NZ so the distance is good and Minibigmac has just been booting me in the cervix to let me know all is well with him/her :)

harassed good to hear from you and because I spend most of my time with my head in the sand I had no idea whether I need a GTT. From reading lara and coconuts posts i'm going to say no as while I'm a chubber, I don't think I'm in a risky BMI position. Wobbles and Mr Poppers? That would have broken me so you are clearly a strong lady!

Owl ?

PS Should say that cousin was living in the UK until Jan, otherwise that sounds a bit melodramatic!

IreneHeron · 19/08/2011 09:44

Coconuts, sorry to hear about your stressful time in hospital. At least they are monitoring you and I'm sure they know what they are doing.

harassedandherbug · 19/08/2011 10:00

bigmac I know how that feels. One of my closest friends had her ds 3 weeks ago, and my first due date was a week ago. So it was all very close, and I see her all the time. It's getting easier, slowly. I think it would be impossible if I was prg again.

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 19/08/2011 10:20

Just thought I'd pop in to say - the rollercoaster ride starts again.

Freezingmyarseoff · 19/08/2011 10:43

Dachs are you saying what I think you're saying ?! if so Grin Grin

Daisybell1 · 19/08/2011 10:46

Freezing I've also been lurking for the last 20 mins trying to work out Dachs crypticness.

Dachs Really? Really really?????????? Grin Grin Grin Grin

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 19/08/2011 10:52
Grin

Although I'm convinced it's a chem pg and I'm now having spotting so I'm freaking out a bit

Daisybell1 · 19/08/2011 11:04
Grin

Will forgive you these freak out thoughts this time (although where is Owl with her haddock when you need her??)

LaraandLittleBean · 19/08/2011 11:23

OMG OMG OMG Dachs - got everything crossed for you.... Us ladies having the mumsnet meet up on Sunday will do a special rain-dance (unless you want to come and join us and do it with us!)

bigmacandhappymeal · 19/08/2011 11:47

dachs HURRAH! I can't tell you how happy that news is to hear. All freak outs are acceptable and I think you might be entitled to a free pass for a bit (although the haddock lingers in the background with a raised eyebrow)?

Just in case the after effects had worn off by the time you had posted, here is your very own bigmac (((superhug))) complete with large fries and a free flurry of your choosing
xx
ps and I didn't even have to murder my last surviving goldfish!

OP posts:
harassedandherbug · 19/08/2011 12:29

Blackkat · 19/08/2011 15:25

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 19/08/2011 15:26

OrangeGloss · 19/08/2011 16:26

Dachs that's fecking awesome news which has made my week Grin Grin

IreneHeron · 19/08/2011 17:52

Dachs, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I'm so pleased for you. I'll not tell you off for mentalling either. Has it really been long enough to know?

DeterminedToStayDiffedDachs · 19/08/2011 18:07

lots of positives yesterday and today - started being positive yesterday afternoon - thought I'd wait until today to share. Will be more comfortable about it being real if it's still there on Monday, which will effectively be 14 dpo. Then Thursday, which is official test day. FRER line darker today than yesterday, CB Digi says yes as well. Really hope it sticks around...

SpringFlowers · 19/08/2011 18:15

Dachs - I sort of 'knew' you (have name changed so was Sam B123) but I was so much further along that I don't think we chatted much. I've followed your story on and off while breastfeeding in the middle of the night. After the awful news about Magic8 I am so happy to hear your lovely news. Sit tight, feet up and grow your little one, congratulations!

Velvetcu · 19/08/2011 18:16

woooohhooooooooo Dachs I'm sooooo happy for you!! I have everything crossed that it/they are sticky little beans for you Grin Grin Grin
