Placenta previa - 36 weeks and in hospital!

Hi, it's been suggested that I start a new thread on this!!! Am now 36 weeks preg and been in hospital since 34+4 after first bleed with pp. They aren't apparently massive bleeds by previa standards but still scary!!! First one came in from home via ambulance in middle of night, second was after an ultrasound whilst in hospital and third was the other night again whilst in hospital. Be interested to hear of other peoples experiences on this. It's so frightening isn't it! It's when it first starts to bleed that it's frightening, nit knowing how much. Staff in hospital are being really good, especially when I bleed.

Been told that they want mr to stay in hospital till c section at 39 weeks, however this depends on how much I bleed and how I and baby am. Reason for 39 is the clinical NICE guidelines for paediatrics.

Am so up and down emotionally, one min getting head round it, next crying loads. Have a little girl 4.5 years. Her delivery was fine. Had SPd then and still do have now but having the Bowen technique for that this time, privately with a midwife, and it seems to be helping the Spd a little.,

Any tips on how you coped with your pps. Find it so difficult at times. Thanks for all support xx

Oh deo!!! I hate getting peoples reactions to a name you really like! The funny thing is, after baby is born, it doesn't matter what the name is, people are always "arrrr, what a lovely name"!!! Whether they like it or not!! I have a theory about getting your own way with names! I've never tried it yet but will do if he calls this one silly names! It wouldn't really work unless you were in labour so my idea is floored for this one! Every time you get a contraction, make him feel it too by squeezing his bits for pain, same length of time for as many hours as it takes you and see whether He thinks going through all that pain, who deserves the pick more!! A bit barbaric I know, I think my hormones have changed me into a bit of a sycho this pregnany! I'm a very calm laid back person really, but at the mo, I cry at everything and poor hubby doesn't know what's hit him!!
Today has been much better! I've calmed down, I left a message with the consultants secretary to get back to me and I've come up with a plan! By all means scan me at 38 weeks, but if still haven't moved, c section me that week!! Get me booked now and if we have to cancel, cancel, but at least it won't be done too much later!! In theory, she say's!!
I went to my daughters special assembly this morning and got to cuddle her and sit with her drinking coffee and cakes all morning! She's loving the attention with all her bandages and braces! Her forehead looks a mess!! She looks a right mess! We've got a photographer coming at the weekend too to do a family photo shoot!! Thank goodness for computers!!
And the weathers been so lovely today I had a picnic on the rec with dd2 after nursery! Am going shopping tomorrow when vie got a few hours free to myself so looking forward to that!

And as for names, your are all lovely! I'm sure you'll find one that's equally as nice! But, I am secretly routing for a girl for you!! I've only got girls and there amazing!!! There brilliantly pink!!!! You'll love it! But saying that, I've never had a boy so I'm looking forward to a change! There sooooooo different!

Managed to get another appointment to see my consultant and the lady was very sympathetic!! Finally getting somewhere!!! You can never pin these doctors down!!! :)

good plan re-section, u must book it or they could b full on that day u want. just go in to childcare issues & stress its causing u. When is the appt for ??
shopping alone nice, cant remember last time i did that, had french manicure & spray tan done for tomorrow night, its yr 6 leavers party 4 parents. bought a dress on ebay (new) & it hasnt arrive - BALLS - so tomorrow is last chance for it to turn up ???? or im buggered - im going for one of those fish pedicures with a friend tom arvo so that will be fun & may have to keep look for an outfit just in case, saw a lovely maxi dress in new look but it was so long, im only 5ft (and 1/2 inch) . oh dear - bad day for photo shoot - i take it u will have another when baby arrives. Boy will b so nice for u all as a change though esp as your hubby likes bikes etc !!! - as for the girl thing - long long story but i cant even think about it as it will prob b a boy ! there is nothing i want more, but this is the end of the road whatever the outcome !!! my ripped muscle is sooooooooooooooo painful - im verging on ringing hosp like midwife said, every time i move stretch bed anything? what do u think they would do ?????

Ouch! Sounds very painful now!! I would ring them! I have no idea what they would do, I don't think they would operate, I think they would just give you stronger painkillers and tell you to rest! At the beginning of the summer hols with 5 boys, it ain't genna happen!!! But worth a call as there may be something!! Anythings better than nothing!
All the stress has caused pink in my pants again, or that may be the internal with one of those contraptions he did which he wasn't supposed to do!!! Took loads of swabs and opened that thing that wide it made me squeal!! And my daughter was in the room too! I'm not kidding when I said he treated me like a piece of meat!! My hubby was so shocked! Didn't look at us, didn't take any of my medical history into account and refused to look up my blood test results on the computer of which a letter arrived today saying they weren't very good and to get in contact with my doctor!!! But am happy that I got another appointment, it's Tuesday again, she only works Tuesdays so not too long to wait! My doctor was furious! I found out today that the guy was only a doctor, not even a consultant so why he thinks he can just chuck my plan out of the window I have no idea!

I hope your dress arrives by tomorrow, that's the only think that sucks on eBay, you have to rely on them posting it asap which isn't always the case! Thinking about it, I have a load of dresses to put on there, I bought some lovely jojo mama bebe dresses for when I went to the states, which was way too hot to wear and then back here has been freezing so havn't actually worn them! Bugger!! Spray tan and toes sound lovely! Think I'll have to treat myself to something quickly before I go in too!!
We have a school night tomorrow night too! My girls very first school disco! I'm going to have to camcorder it! Is your oldest moving up to high school then? How scary! I'm not looking forward to that one!

Oooh, I had one of those fish pedicures and screamed my head off! My fish were ravenous and went mental, hence my foot went in and out within a millisecond!!
I'm going to still do the photo shoot, just get her to touch them up! And my stretch marks whilst she's at it! In fact, mummy won't look like mummy by the time she's finished! Mummy will look like a supermodel!! Hehehe. :)

Blimin dress hasnt arrived so went to shops got a replacement best i could find so it will have 2 be that. i always sell my maternity stuff so get them dresses on ebay & make some ££ - tuesday not too long to wait for apptment. blimin doctors, i refuse to c them now, consultant only 4 me .

Photo shoot was ace! We did loads of the girls cuddling and peeping over bump! Then some of me followed by a painting bump session which got very messy but was good fun and great photo's!!

Lazy day sounds fab!!! I'm about ready for a nap anyway!! Hubby can take kids for a while!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I was actuallly thinking of starting my Christmas shopping soon! Can't stand the thought of doing it all in one month with a little one!!
Well, breakfast is calling and to be quite honest, I could go back to bed!! Deo, I don't know how you do it! A weary day with 5 kids! Do they help you much? Do they pretty much get on with it! My girls are good, but they like to trash the house a lot! Better to get them out than stay in but is proving to be very difficult!!

i quite fancy the bump painting cn !! i have bought 3 xmas pressys a few months ago but it isa mammoth task with my lot. get picking some bargains up. mine will help yes but they now how to trash a house too, the things i find in odd places !!!! hope u have a rest full day, i havent been doing a lot today either. keep getting like trapped nerves at top of my legs, do u know what i mean? legs were very swollen this am again but spent 2 hours laying this arvo & better now, gonna call hosp tom about appt for this muscle.

morning - tried getting appt at hosp today, they said call triage, who r no use, girl said she will get midwife to call me, that was 2 1/2 hours ago. but didnt think they would do much ?? joy!! pain it is. had a very unsettled night with abdo pain, bump feels like 40 weeks pulling down & still on 26 measly weeks !!!!

Oh deo!! Rubbish isn't it!!! I've managed to do something to a muscle under my boob and am pretty sure I've hurt my rib too! I'm in soooooo much pain! I can barley drive and I have to walk holding it! I do feel for you! Only 10 more weeks! Sometimes hospitals are useless!! Your possible better off just calling your midwife!
I've had a manic day today! End of school year is so hectic! And then my daughter falls over straight onto her arm! Roll on two hours of a&e again! It's a tiny bit worse than before but her strap saved her! So vie just got her to bed!
I have my consultant appointment tomorrow so hopefully I'll know a little more! I still havn't bought any breastfeeding tops yet! Mothercare are so boring! And can't be bothered ordering off the Internet from loads of different sites! I might just get one or two plain vests and get some more after!
Oooh, bedtime!!! I'm sooooo exhausted!!

yay consultant 4 u tom, let me know what happens. im exhausted today, long day got in from school thing at 9.15pm. i might try & call midwife tomorrow instead but im not gonna live on pain killers for 10 weeks. rib pain so painful isnt it , been holding mine all day. your poor DD. hope she is ok. pah...u dont need bf tops, get some vests (ebay) & some shirts will be fine, they r all so frumpy. ive only ever had the bf vests with normal clothes.

Good idea, vests and shirts! I seem to recall doing that last time!! Might just get one in until I managed to return to size 10 supermodel like figure within two weeks and then go shopping!!
I'm now feeling your pain of the torn muscle!, I've done mine just under my boob! I can't move! I can't breath, I can't talk, laughing makes me cry onto of a crunching rib and spd, I'm going to perform the c section myself if they don't decide on a date today! Sleeping on my side is excruciating and lying on my back makes me feel funny!! Can't wait to see the consultant today.
Sciatica's horrible!, I hate it! It came back a little bit last night on top of everything else! The burning sensensation down the back of your legs freaks you out as you think there's no blood getting down there!! At least I've not got long left! I do feel for you deo!! When are they going to c section you? 36 weeks?

And this weather is really pissing me off!!! I wouldn't be as bad if we had a little sunshine!!!

mental busy day again today, god give me strength to make it til friday !!!! the muscle pain is horrid, i cant do anything without pain at the mo, i could have sobbed last night with the muscle, sciatica, heartburn, ribs, spd worse etc etc. i cant wait to hearhow u got on today. my section is at 36 at mo - thats 10 weeks - sooo long away - bump is huge huge huge - how many weeks r u now? im out again tonight, sob sob .

Well, today went well!! She was shocked on what had happened and said there's not a cat in hells chance it would move for a natural birth! And forget scanning you again, we'll c section you instead! So the 1st august I'm in andshe said she want to be there with me if things go wrong, she's more qualified with pp! The womanise amazing!, at last! A date!! Feel so much happier and relaxed now even though am in so much pain! She's given me loads more pain killers and said if it doesn't get any better in the next few days to go in and they'll check for gallstones!!

Morning!! Well been up all night worrying as a little gush of water came out of me last night! Was on the phone to maternity at 4 this morning, but didn't have any more so thank goodness waters haven't broke!

I have some advise for you deo! When I saw my midwife yesterday she said I can get some home help, I got this number from a charity called homestart. Number is 0800 068 6368 and they'll put you in touch with your local volunteer group where you can get people to come round and help you with day to day living as long as one child is under the age of 5. It's worth giving them a call, check out there website www.home-start.org.uk or you can ring your local family service government lead and they will find out a heap load for you too! Ours is east Cheshire family service so not sure whether yours is similar!

Well, this morning is my last child free morning ever!! Until the boy goes to nursery!! All I've done is eat and sit on my arse!! Very productive!! The fact I can't move is besides the point!
How did your night out go? It's good that your getting out! Need one more night out before baby is born!
How are you feeling today? I've been given tramodol and there good, definitely take the edge off it!! Not a dizzy or sick as cocodamol! And the doc gave me imepresol for stomach acid under rib discomfort, even if you don't think you've got stomach acid, it helps get rid of trapped wind! And it helps the tramodol! You should give it a go!

all good cn !!!! 1/8/11 is your babys birthday !!!! i dont know i am away for a day and it all happens. got in at 12.30 pm last night, sooo tired but good to see friends. i am in so much pain with ripped muscle everytime i cough etc it just burns. oh everything is pain. my left hip is so stiff, but dont know where to turn bar going in to triage that didnt come back to me on monday, but i have too much on with oldest one leaving on friday & dont want to miss a thing!!!. maybe at the weekend ill go in & then can sit there for hours knowing hubbys at home. really dont want to live on meds though either. i have selpt all afternoon & feel bit better & bought one of those bump support belts today but its giving me belly ache. thanks for the advice, ill look in to that too. glad u enjoyed your last afternoon of freedom too !!! im in tonight hooray !!!!

gallstones??? really ??

Manic manic manic! Mines all finished with now! Thank goodness! Going to spend this week sewing in labels getting uniforms ready for September! Won't have the time after baby's here! Can't believe in a week and a half I'm going to see my little one!!
I've tried as much as I can without drugs! I don't like the thought of taking them every day, but now vie got to the point were I really do need them!
You should of got one of those bump belts for free at the physio! They might be able to help you with the muscle too. I have physio on Friday so I'll let you know what they say about torn muscles, which is more what I think this is rather than gallstones! It's painful all the time especially when i try and use it or bend over! It almost makes you drop to your knees when it really burns!

Are you on holiday that week? I may not be able to get onto the Internet that day anyway, depends on how everything goes and what time they c section me. It maybe the next day anyway.

Have a good night in tonight! Take a leaf out of my book and curl up with a good DVD!! I'm on Harry potter number 4 tonight! Three was scary enough, I don't know if I'm looking forward to this! I'm not quite sure about continuing to number 8!!!

Well .....I am in hospital......., had a bleed about 6.30pm came straight in, chaos rained I was on a drip in 3 mins flat! Bleeding stopped ?? They have given me steroids 4 babe , I'm wired up for surge if it continues , 26 weeker ???? but I chilled & positive . Watch this space !!!!

Still dribbling thru night , sorry tmi ! Will wait & c what cons says today , hardly slept , hot , noise, worried I won't get home again !!!
