OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rhubarb · 29/11/2003 16:46

Well I've been getting twinges for the last 2 days, only when I move around though. And I feel VERY hormonal. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm crying or I'm irritable! I also seem to have a bit more energy, I'm organising things to get ready so hopefully this might be early!

eefs · 30/11/2003 10:37

Our phonelines were down for a while, what a time to be off line! I'm glad to see I haven't actually missed any births
I'm now two days over, but there are absolutely no signs that I will go any time soon, so I am resigned to wait for another week at least. WWW & Elliot I can't believe you're still here, hope it happens soon for you. I must check the birth announcements for grommit.
Rhubarb, you can't go early, that's just not fair on us overdue-er's.
Does tinned pineapple have any effect or does it have to be fresh? And do I have to have sex???? Any other nice inducement ideas?
Susanmt any news?
Welcome Newt, how has it gone for you so far?

chanelno5 · 30/11/2003 11:20

www - sorry I've been so slow to reply, have 2 poorly kids at the moment. Regarding the sweep (which I hope you won't need by now!) I had this with ds1 when I was 1 week over, went into labour that evening and had him early next morning. With dd2, I had one at 1 day over (yes I know, but I had had enough by then) and eventually gave birth 4 days later, so not quite as quick. Sweeps are a bit uncomfortable (though no way near as bad as childbirth!) and usually effective if things are ready to get going - just giving nature a helping hand you might say. Really didn't fancy the sex part (but you go girl - respect!) and found with ds2 that it didn't work anyway as he was 11 days late. Tried all the old usual, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, hot curries etc, but found sweep to be the best (why does it always make me think of Sooty and Sweep though?) Might be worth considering if nothing happens soon..................

Good luck to everyone else who is overdue and due soon, that was me too not so long ago (dd2 was 2 weeks yesterday) so try to put your feet up whilst you can to prepare yourselves for all the sleepless nights to come! Best wishes x

I might be on! At the risk of giving too much information, dp and I were in bed this afternoon, in the middle of having sex, and my waters broke. Torrents, but completely clear, which is good. We're waiting for the midwife now. I know it could be ages from here on in but I sort of don't think it will be! Will stay on here a bit to take my mind off it as no other action yet. Thanks for that Chanel and I hope your kids get better soon. Rhubarb, how exciting, anything yet? Eefs, no idea about pineapple, sorry, didn't do in the end.

2under2 · 30/11/2003 14:59

pupuce · 30/11/2003 14:59

Twink · 30/11/2003 16:03

Ooh can't wait to hear www, wishing you a swift one with no stiches ! If you get a move on you might still make the meet-up next week (I AM joking )

emmatmg · 30/11/2003 17:32

Been following all your progress from my properer place on Sept babies and wanted to wish you all good luck.

WWW hope things happening nicely for you, I'm sure my DH will be equally as pleased about your birth announcment!!! Remember me from your pregnancy news post all those months ago

emmatmg · 30/11/2003 17:33

properer? whats that then?

elliott · 30/11/2003 18:38

www, hope things are getting going! I was convinced it was all on this morning but then it went quiet again Hoping it might start up again through the night, I'm sure the sex helped so we will try again (I am always amazed that dh not turned off by huge egg on legs but glad too - pregnancy does great things for my libido, unlike breastfeeding which completely turns me off!)
eefs, hope you start soon too - I can't really complain yet as I'm not even due till Wednesday!

Grommit · 30/11/2003 19:23

Good luck WWW, Rhubarb and Elliott - hope it happens soon for you!

motherinferior · 01/12/2003 09:40

WWW was in labour last night. Where's she got to??? The suspense is killing me!

sprout · 01/12/2003 10:22

WWW, good luck!

Dahlia · 01/12/2003 12:15

Any News www?

motherinferior · 01/12/2003 13:34

wwwhere is she, dammit? I spoke to her last night and she was definitely in labour. Now I'm all worried.

karenanne · 01/12/2003 14:02

hope everythings ok www,,just back from consultant and babes will be making its entrance to the world on the 15th of december ..funny had a scare on friday and really panicked (didnt at all with dd)but after today just feeling really calm and excited.
dont know if i'll feel like that on the day though!!
good luck to all others due or overdue.

WideWebWitch · 01/12/2003 14:25

yes, she's here, it was hell, about to post a birth announcement...

Demented · 01/12/2003 14:39

Congratulations WWW, look forward to hearing all the gory details!

Rhubarb · 01/12/2003 14:40

Hurrah! Hope it wasn't that bad WWW! At least it's all over with and you've managed to make it to the pc so it can't be that bad - surely????

I'm still here too. Everything seems to have stopped now, though I do still feel quite energised and have just cleaned the oven. Ooooh, having said that I just got a Braxton Hicks then! That's the first one since Saturday! I wish it would stop teasing me!

My conception dates make me due on the 2nd, but the hospital dates make it around Saturday. As dd was on time, I guess I am hoping it will be any time now, and I won't necessarily be early!

Going off to read WWW's post now!

prufrock · 01/12/2003 14:40

Congratulations - hope it wasn't too awful.

elliott · 01/12/2003 14:48

ooh, congratulations www! This birth announcement is taking some composing - waiting on tenterhooks here

Rhubarb, I'm being teased too - we were completely convinced it would happen yesterday but back to nothing much going on today. I am currently defrosting the freezer though (last time I did that was just before weaning ds!) so perhaps that's a sign

Newt · 02/12/2003 03:09

Oops in my last posting I said my edd is 31st dec, it's actually 13th dec(same day as Rhubarb methinks). Was that a typo or am I really fuzzy-brained atm. Good job I've practically stopped work..
Thanks for the welcomes. As far as its een going, well brain really has gone to mush in the last month..still can't find my purse etc.
I have strange twinges for the past few weeks..I suppose these are BH, sometimes they quite take my breath away, I mean they are intense.
I have also had terrible reflux for most of my preg, and found magnesium trisilicate a very good remedy. Waking up in the middle of the night a lot, well I'm sleeping a few hours here and there, (like a non-GF baby!?)
I feel like I have been pregnant for 3 years, not in a bad way, just this year has gone sooo slowly. I suppose I am very aware of it each day and at 39, it's a totally different career!
I feel like I will give birth on 20th Dec despite my edd. Anyone any comments on Homerton Hospital?
