Monkey, it's GOT to come out...

pupuce · 16/11/2003 18:07

Monkey - Was it a big show? If so - very soon is my personal bet

monkey · 16/11/2003 19:12

Thanks for your words of support. Can't really estimate size as some came out in shower, some later in toilet. I have been having contractions all day, much more painful than yesterday, but unbelievably, in the last half hour they seem to be wearing off again. i could cry, because 2 days solid of contractions and then wearing off at night and still nothing. so much for worrying it'd ne 2 hours from start to finish like last time. Couldn't be more different.

motherinferior, I wish I was as sure as you on that count.

pupuce · 16/11/2003 19:17

Monkey - Are you reading your e-mails ???

monkey · 16/11/2003 19:49

mail is playing up since a few days .

pupuce · 16/11/2003 19:58

For those who wonder I have suggested to Monkey that she drinks a glass of wine or beer.... it will help her relax. I have taken bets as to when her babe will come out..... I will let you know if I was right

monkey · 16/11/2003 20:05

I've received one from you, but can't reply. Have dutifully cracked open a beer - just following instructions you understand. Contractions down to every 15 - 20 minutes now (were every 5), still painful though.

WideWebWitch · 16/11/2003 20:24

Oh monkey, I'm sending you positive thoughts. What a PITA.

pupuce · 17/11/2003 12:19

So Monkey?????? I don't want to sound like one of those who say "have you not had the baby yet?" but have you not ???
Hope you still have an ounce of humour.....

tinyfeet · 17/11/2003 12:23

Monkey, hope you're in hospital now.

Ruth21 · 17/11/2003 14:10

monkey, I'm thinking of you, hope things are well and truly on the way by now--if not already over. Good luck (and to Rhubarb and www and others who are desperate to get it over with as well).

chanelno5 · 17/11/2003 15:52

Any news Monkey? Sure it won't be long. Hang in there mate and at the risk of sounding like a perv, why not try a spot of nipple twiddling to encourage those pesky contractions

Thinking of everyone. I know only too well how frustrating those last few days are, but keep positive, it really will happen soon

tinyfeet · 17/11/2003 16:23

chanelno5 - what about you? weren't you due last week? any signs?

also, where is www? Expecting lots of news soon

tinyfeet · 17/11/2003 16:36

Sorry Chanel - just realized you've already given birth! Congrats! I don't recall seeing your birth announcement, but will look now. Hope you're doing well.

motherinferior · 17/11/2003 19:22

WWW? Go on, go on...

WideWebWitch · 17/11/2003 19:59

Nah, still here Not even due til Friday, to be fair to this one. Dp wouldn't have sex yesterday since he reckoned it would feel strange just doing it to get the baby to arrive so I suggested it just now with a wink rather than a "come on let's get this baby out" and now he's up for it! What a weird bloke huh, so sensitive, love 'im! The house is spotless, there's not one unwashed sock in the place (and for someone who's usually phobic about going near the washing machine this is some achievement) - even the cushion covers on the sofa have been washed. The loo and the sinks have been bleached, I've vacuumed the whole place from top to bottom today, there are piles of clean fluffy white babygros in the airing cupboard, the birthing pool's newly re-filled and re-heated so I reckon I'm on very soon since I NEVER clean like this usually. My friend even said 'blimey it'll be a shock for the baby when you go back to your normal sluttish self.'

May well post for encouragement if I get panicky when it starts, so look out for me...Monkey, I've been thinking of you, hope all's well.

Grommit · 17/11/2003 20:01

WWW - manic cleaning is a good sign! Hopefully you won't have long to wait now...
Hopefully Monkey is in labour as we speak

tinyfeet · 17/11/2003 20:11

WWW, sounds like it will be soon! Good luck and thinking of you (and monkey)!

sprout · 17/11/2003 20:31

I missed all the excitement over the weekend - no time to log on as dd1 was running a 40 degree temperature for 48 hours. Thank goodness the baby seems to be a placid type (so far ).
Good luck www, sounds suspiciously like you're nearly there. I finished 6 months' worth of filing the day before I went into labour... Very out of character.
Monkey, you've gone silent. Have I missed something? Good luck, even if you're still waiting.

Ailsa · 17/11/2003 21:21

Good luck WWW, I did the same, went into hospital the day after having a manic clear up - even every single item of clothing made it into the wardrobes - v.unusual in this house. Infact this time 11 weeks ago I was waiting for dh to come home from work and have his tea before I told him it was time to go.

Rhubarb · 18/11/2003 10:41

Good luck Monkey and WWW, doesn't sound like you have long to go now! Dh has suddenly decided to strip the wallpaper from the chimney breast in the room I was meant to give birth in, all the plaster came off so now he's had to re-plaster some bits, split a load on the carpet so he's also talking about a new carpet and he's bought some paint to re-paint it all. I wonder if men get the nesting instinct too? I could kill him though, the room looks a complete mess now so the baby can't come until he's tidied it! 3 weeks to go, seems like a blooming lifetime!

chanelno5 · 18/11/2003 11:45

Sending all my best to everyone. Hoping it will happen very soon for those almost due. Am feeling very excited for everyone

Monkey is very quiet. Hope she has some good news for us soon.

chanelno5 · 18/11/2003 11:46

Whelid - How are things with you?

chanelno5 · 18/11/2003 11:50

Sprout - Hope dd1 is on the mend now and glad to hear dd2 is ok. My dd2 seems very placid so far too, hope I'm not being lulled into a false sense of security! Only cries at nappy changing time and actually the past couple of times she hasn't even cried then. Just spends her time sleeping and looking around. Boobs are a bit painful today as milk is coming in, but otherwise everything is ok.

Dahlia · 20/11/2003 21:30

Sorry to butt in but I just wanted to wish WWW all the very best of luck! And Monkey too, hope you are both ok!
