Wondering if anyone else is having a baby in Oxford this year (2011)? I am due in the summer and would love to meet other mothers-to-be who live around.

Hello Spacey13

I would like to meetup but just 2 things

Can't do Thursday 4th as going to the playday event at Witney but anyone drives welcome to meet me there
Secondly I am not so keen on the soft play area at Kidlignton, its so small and not staffed so have always find the bigones run into little bit and last time they just kept throwing balls at Eve and their parents (think could been childminders) did nothing. I do like the tots bounce though thats held in the sports hall on Mon/weds morning if you or anyone fancies meeting there x

EvaLongoria · 28/07/2011 00:20

Big Congrats Spacey on little Seth, hope to meet him soon.
Unfortunately because I have a 3 year old as well that cant sit still unless she is otherwise occupied I will have to decline any of the meetups for now at the Summertown Wine Cafe. Will hopefully catch up with all in September and meet Jer79, Kittub, Owlbooty and spacey's new babies. And whoever joins by then.

Also cant do the 4th as will be at Witney's playday. SAHMHelen I live in Witney, do you fancy meeting up at the playday?

Good luck to everyone else and hi to those whom I missed.

Ladies hope you dont mind but I have created a facebbok group for Oxford 2011 Babies. Its a secret group meaning know one can see who is in it and whats posted and photos unless you allow the member. All members will be approved as well. So if you add yourself via mumsnet give me ur username. I know there are a few ladies who joined other mums through NCT. Might be a nice way to arrange get together.

If everyone think its not a good idea I can delete the group.

SAHMHelen · 28/07/2011 12:29

Hello, We are going to the playday next week on our own so would love to meetup with you. We will be going around 10.30 as eve naps at 12noon so want to have a good hour plus there.

Love the FB idea although link didn't work for me but spend more time on there and get messages when some one writes so easier for me.

I have tried searching FB but can't find the group :-(

EvaLongoria - www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=682651366 if you want to message me xx

Hi,

Just to say that there is a Weekly Meet-up on Fridays at 11am in Summertown Wine Cafe, usually in the summerhouse at the back. It's kind of a self-running thing now so the meet-ups won't be posted every time here, as it is a regular ongoing thing. So, just show up and have a lovely time!

All the best, particularly to OWL who is due this week!

Thanks for info on Kidlington softplay. I hadn't been there and I'm glad you told me that as I am also not keen on older kids bounding around near toddlers either. Wyvale has a separate section for 1-3 year olds which feels much safer.

SAHMHelen · 12/08/2011 15:20

The new centre at Kassam is suppose to be brilliant but really busy at the moment but perhaps when the school holidays are over anyone that would like to meet would

I'd love to meet some of you but just can't imagine Fri morn in Summertown, Eve would be bored in 5 mins and with 2nd arriving soon don't want the stress, would rather have them playing very nearby and chance to meet some new mums.

I can't seem to get the FB page up, has it gone down already? x

PS Spacey13 how is life with new one x

Spacey13 · 16/08/2011 15:26

Life is pretty busy!! Having a toddler and a newborn certainly means there are no boring bits in your day but I am loving it! In comparison to first time round things are much calmer, less sressful and if things do go a bit pear shaped we just have a laugh about what a mess we made of everything rather than getting stressed. Luckliy Seth is a good sleeper in the day which is leaving me some one to one time with Freddy. That's the hard bit.....having to decide which one to go to first when they are both crying!
SAHMHelen when is your second due?

SAHMHelen · 20/08/2011 08:11

My 2nd one is due 29th September so just under 6weeks and I like to hear thats its not all bad with 2!!!

Looking forward to a meetup soon x

mummy2agirl2b · 20/08/2011 23:35

It is me Nikki! Really looking forward to the class! See you Wednesday.

EmGrounds · 07/09/2011 10:54

Hi. I've just moved into Summertown and I don't know anyone. I have two boys, 21 months and 4 months. Need to get out of the house before I drown in milk and nappies!! Do you still meet up on Fridays?

PipCarrier · 07/09/2011 13:34

To all those with toddlers and a new baby - do you want to arrange a meet-up at Wyevale soft play?

Spacey13 · 07/09/2011 18:06

yes please! that would be great. Can't do Wednesday am but the rest of the week I am pretty flexible. Let me know what time and date and I'll be there!

Spacey13 · 07/09/2011 18:12

Hi EmGrounds,

I have two boys age 23 months and 8 weeks. If you fancy coming along to Wyvale meet up we can perhaps swap notes on raising two boys!

EmGrounds · 07/09/2011 20:29

Hi. That would be great. Monday and Friday would be best for me.

SAHMHelen · 07/09/2011 21:00

Hello sorry for the delay in writing on here especially huge apologies to Spacey13 being over 8mths pregnant with a lively toddlet has started to really exhaust me so been aking it slower laterly and getting ready.

I haven't got my newborn yet but wehen she makes an appearance a meet with somewhere for toddler to play would be great, never donw Wyvale but willing to tag along if thats okay, if not the ikidz at Kassam has REALLY improved

Will keep in touch and look forward to meeting some mums of 2 xxx

PipCarrier · 07/09/2011 21:12

I can't do Monday's, how about a Tuesday? Probably best to arrive Friday as traffic is always chaos and if anyone wants to go to the original Summertown meet-up they still can.

This isn't to exclude any new mummies by the way - everyone is welcome, the more the merrier - but if you're still at the stage of being able to sit and have a coffee in peace then make the most of it :)

Mamantra · 08/09/2011 10:52

Hi! I just moved to Oxford two weeks ago (from Canada). I will show up at tomorrow's meeting, if there is still one. I am 8 1/2 months pregnant ;-) and I have a son of nearly 3 years-old that will stay with his father for tomorrow.

Also, we are looking for a babysitter or someone to look after our son when I will give birth. Any idea? We really need help for that...;-)

I am very excited to meet you all!

Spacey13 · 10/09/2011 16:00

Tuesday is good for me too! Got a few things happening for next few Tuesdays but how about 27th September at 11am?

Spacey13 · 10/09/2011 16:03

SAHMHelen absolutely no worries. I know Exactly how it is just hope you are keeping well and managing to get some sleep.

PipCarrier · 10/09/2011 19:22

27th at 11am sounds great! Anyone else joining us? :)

EmGrounds · 10/09/2011 22:29

Yep I can make that. My eldest goes to nursery on a Tuesday though but I can relax and drink coffee and my little one can watch and learn!!
