Just found out I'm pregnant with an EDD on May 7th, so though I'ld kick off this thread. I have a DS who was two last week. I am suprised to find myself having very mixed emotions - excitement at the thought of a sibling for DS, but horror at the thought of the pregancy, birth and first few months. Anyone else just found out they're pregnant?

ahhh bugzi, thats brilliant news. its so nice that you are so excited for her too. Sorry to hear you are feeling so back prufrock. when is your EDD?

Egypt · 19/09/2003 18:08

oh , sorry, prufrock, just seen - 14 may. 3 days before me. i'm not feeling at all sick yet and wondering if i should be. should i??? i hope not. been to see consultant who put me on clomid today. had preg confirmed. seems silly, but waiting for the result was awful. I began thinking that it would come back negative and i had dreamed the whole thing, or was some psychotic woman who had convinced her body that it was pregnant!!!!!

Linnet · 21/09/2003 00:00

Hi, I had a lot of backache and cramping today. I'm assuming this is normal with a second baby but can anyone enlighten me? Is it probably just bits and pieces stretching?
I'm not worried just curious.

bunny2 · 21/09/2003 21:04

Egypt, be careful what you wish for! I was desperate for some symptoms and now I want to throw up all day long and I can hardly walk for lower back pain. Oh, how I wish for a symptomless pregnancy! Glad yours was confirmed. Good news.

Linnet, yes back pain is common in pg, all the ligaments start to loosen up so things arent held so tightly in place. I am in agony at the momnet and had to wake dh up in the middle of the night to help me to the loo, couldnt get out of bed on my own.

Hi all

Congratlations to all who are pg! I think I may just make it into this string. I took a test this morning and got a (very) faint pink line. With DS I had a very definite line, but my period was due a few days ago and so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Have endometriosis so always thought would have a nightmare getting pg again (took 1.5 yr the first time, but only 2 months this time). Do you think it's likely I'm pregnant if the pink line was faint? (sound pathetic don't I?!).Also I know I was pregnant the 1st time (got the feeling), but this time the only symptom is tiredness (falling alseep on sofa by 9.30 every evening!).

CountessDracula · 22/09/2003 12:57

Snips I think any line is a line! Mine with dd was so faint I could hardly see it at first, took it to a pharmacist and she said it was definitely pg.

Congratulations!

Snips · 22/09/2003 13:01

Thanks so much!!! DS will be 3 next July and I always wanted another before he turned 3 so this has come at a perfect time. I really can't believe it though. Thought it would take ages to get pg!

Azure · 22/09/2003 13:36

Sounds like you belong on this thread - many congrats Snips.

Just went and bought another (more expensive) test as the one I used was a very cheap one, which I want to do tomorrow if I can wait that long. Will let you know how I get on.

Egypt · 22/09/2003 18:18

hi snips. great news congrats. clearblue is recommended by many - go for it. welcome to this thread.

Twiglett - who arranged your early scan? when saw cons on fri, i asked him if an eary scan was needed cos of clomid, and he said no. just carry on as normal and see your midwife through your doc. want an early scan desperately though. when r u having your?

I couldn't wait till tomorrow to do the Clearblue so have just done it. BUT..I'm a bit confused. There is a vertical line in the second box so the test worked. But in the first box there is also a vertical line, but no horizontal line so there is no cross. i think this means I'm pregnant. Am I right??

bunny2 · 22/09/2003 21:09

Is there a helpline number on the box?

Snips · 22/09/2003 21:30

Yes..but open 9am till 3pm so will have to wait until tomorrow to call. The confirmation of this pregnancy(?) seems to be taking forever.

Bogwoppit · 22/09/2003 22:20

on the new ones you need a cross to be preg. so you need both horizontal & vertical in 1st box.

try first response kit as this detects preg earlier than most other kits.

Azure · 23/09/2003 08:40

twiglett - glad to hear the scan went well. How lovely to see the heartbeat so early on. I can't wait until my scan on October 23.

Does anyone know whether it's ok to do aqua aerobics in first 3 months? Would like to try and keep fit this time, as last time had a tough 6 months at WW to lose weight.
