MeAndMyBoy · 23/02/2006 22:24

I love that picture J&Rm it's so cool.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/02/2006 23:10

so much for going to bed, I lie down and feel even sicker.....I try and prop myself up a bit and get dead legs.....oh the joys of pregnancy! my poor old ball is the only place of comfort....

Cadmum · 24/02/2006 02:30

Hope you do manage to get some sleep friz. Sweet dreams.

Still no real action here for me but I am tempted to ask my mum to come on monday instead of Wednsday because I am really scared of being in the hossie all by myself and D/h needs to be with the keds unless my mum is here... Furniture delivery is now confirmed for Monday am instead of Tuesday pm so that is a move in the right direction. A real bed and a proper place to sit might do wonders for my grumpy disposition!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 09:08

Caddy I do not envy you without a proper bed at the mo, must be horrible. Get your mum down early sure she won't mind helping out, IMO they like feeling needed
I did manage some sleep thanks, seems an hour hanging over the birthing ball was needed to shift bumps position enough to allow me to lie down without feeling sick or dead in the legs, oh the joys of pregnancy eh! Still feel a tad sicky this am, but not too much, so phew!

Flame's had a little boy

Hope everyone else is well?

Munz are you home today??

trix1 · 24/02/2006 10:19

Congratulations Munz..

Joseph is a beautiful name.

Nemo1977 · 24/02/2006 10:38

joseph is a lovely name!!

Rom I was induced with both of mine and it wasnt as bad as I thought or was lead to believe it would be. Adams labour was fantastic once pains started and waters broken it was 90mins long. Hannah was a tinker but thats because she wasnt engaged and also my cervix was caught around her head but even hers was only 8hrs from waters being broken.

If you want to chat about it email me on [email protected] As can do the whole details if you want of what happened when.

HandbagAddiction · 24/02/2006 12:52

Rom - I was also induced last time and didn't find the experience bad at all - in fact, needed no additional pain relief at all. Happy to talk about it more if you like.

The only slightly negative thing I would say though is that as a first timer being induced, the midwives tend to think that it'll take you hours to get dilated and can have a tendency to 'fob you off' even if you think things are progressing faster..

So in my case for example, I went from 0cm-fully dilated in 9 hours having only been induced with a pessary - no drip, no ARM. By their reckoning, in 9 hours they would not have expected me to be anywhere near that and reckoned I'd need a drip and everything else to get things moving!

The moral being - don't be afraid to question them and stick up for what you think you your body is telling you.

MeAndMyBoy · 24/02/2006 13:05

Morning,

Yippee another beanies baby love the name Joeseph lol at him getting the job at christmas.

Hi Handbag how are you doing?

Glad to hear that you feel a tiny bit easier this morning Friz, ginger biscuits nibbled slowly helped me when I felt sick. I have my fingers crossed that you kick off soon.

Cadmum glad your furniture is turning up a little bit sooner, hopefully you'll be able to relax and meet your LO without any worries once your Mum's with you.

Well Af is now offically 2 days late!! my fingers are aching from having them crossed so hard lol.

H x

Bella23 · 24/02/2006 13:25

Meandmyboy - how can you not test !!
Talk about will power!!
Go on....you know you want to

romilly · 24/02/2006 13:31

oooooh M&MB - everything crossed for you as well!!!! it would be lovely to have a birth and a BFP all in the same week

munz - love love love the name joseph. i think its a beautiful name

friz - you poor lass, feeling sick and getting impatient - hang in there hun.

nemo and handbag - thankyou for reassurance on induction - i do need to think positive i know. it is good to hear some other experiences which are not bad ones. i shall bear in mind the whole listening to your body thing as well handbag.

well my news today is that we are meant to be exchanging contracts on our house, yayyyyyyyy! sometime this a/noon supposedly. wont be moving until beginning of may though - couldnt cope with giving birth and move all at once. plus the house needs work. i am figuring it will be easier moving a newborn than a six month old (ie. settling into a new nursery etc.) what do you think?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 13:40

M&MB you must test!! good luck I might try the bics again, although not totally sure they'll work, its just where bubba is lying that causing the probs I think! anyway have now found a mouth ulcer to boot and grown another zit, so I am a) run down and b) my hormones must be changing, out baby out!!

Rom, congrats on the house whoopppeeee
now hopefully you can relax and get it all sorted out slowly, like you say better to get work done whilst your not in it! think a newborn will be quite happy moving, so long as mum and dad are there, they're not too bothered about anything else!

romilly · 24/02/2006 14:45

yeah go on M&MB! i have a bag of babydust in waiting......

friz - a zit! great sign - a friend of mine was 10 days late, then had a complete break-out and sure enough, next day - baby!

Bella23 · 24/02/2006 14:50

Rom - oooh exchanging contracts this afternoon, fab news!!
Its all coming together eh? New house, new family.....ooh sounds all cuddly.

Must be a hormone thing am seeing the cuddly aspect to all situations at the moment!!

Friz - boo at a mouth unlcer. If you can bear it and it it very "OUCH" then put some salt straight on it and I promise it will be on its way out tomorrow. Hey if you are about to go through childbirth this should be a very faint pain indeed!!

MeAndMyBoy · 24/02/2006 16:36

Yeah great news about your house Rom - yes I would say moving with a new born is easier than at 6 mths - a new born stays put - a 6 mth old will want attention IYSWIM.

Friz so so sorry that you are feeling so run down and grotty. i have everything crossed it all kicks off for you soon.

Yes I want to test believe me I do - but Dh is in dublin until some late hour tonight and I want him here to share it. One of the few bits he will be sharing with his job load at the moment poor thing.

But I have had 31 day cycles before now and sunday is 31 days.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 16:49

Yep your right I shall salt it Bella!

M&MB Test please, its killing me!

Rom, Cadmum, TIL's in labour!!

I'm going to drive to leeds with dh tonight to pick up ss, so hopefully that will kick me off, it worked last time with dd

MeAndMyBoy · 24/02/2006 17:02

lol friz I'm starting to get impatient myself.

good luck for your self induction technique this afternoon.

Bella how are you doing? not long til your scan date.

georgeandwigglyjake · 24/02/2006 17:25

M&MB, how exciting, I do hope it is some good news for you. I will keep everything crossed for you.

Congratulations on exchanging contracts Rom, how long til you complete on the house? I've probably missed this or forgotten with my mush of a brain, but where are you moving to?

Take it easy with the travelling Friz, those 2nd ones can come quickly you know! Take some towels & DIY instructions for your DH just in case!

Bella, you sound so happy, it's lovely.

J&RM, you have done a fantastic job over the last few days. Munz will be proud of you.
Love the name Joseph, what good taste in names you have Munz. Hope you are doing OK, the pictures are gorgeous.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 24/02/2006 20:30

thanks for the late advice george! hasn't helped so far tho but we've now all informed bubba the whole family is here and to get a move on !

MeAndMyBoy · 25/02/2006 11:13

Morning Ladies,
