Hello again...

We have had no internet since the phone went in on the morning of the 9th... Charming!

1st I need to say that I am heartbroken for Wendy. You are such a strong woman for dealing with all of this heartache. I am truly sad for you.

I am still in New York because the ObGyn's office rang me on Wednesday evening (two weeks ago) to offer me an appt for the Friday. Thankfully, this meant that I was able to cancel our flights home to Canada and resign myself to a hospital birth here. The appt went relatively well but I have been tested and re-tested for everything under ths sun. On Friday morning, I went for a scan to confirm adequate growth and was very discouraged to discover that we seem destined to have a 5 1/2 pounder as the baby is not growing.... I will be induced later this week following another scan on Tuesday to confirm the findings.

Guess that explains why I have no stretch marks and a small bump?!?!?! Wendy's news certainly helps me to keep it all in perspective as we are ever so blessed to be having a baby at all.

I must run as the little people have been trapped in this flat since yesterday evening waiting for the Cable Guy to put in the internet (for the third time!).

Sorry for the lack of contact followed by a quick, insane post. Hope you are all well...

Frizbetheexpansionset · 20/02/2006 20:22

Oh Caddy I really hope all goes well for you later on this week at little one being small, but at least they've spotted it, so better out than in, so something can be done about it {{{Big Hugs}}} hope to hear from you again soon xx

MeAndMyBoy · 20/02/2006 21:01

Hi Cadmum - it's so good to hear from you and that you don't have to make a mad dash across country borders.

Take care x

H

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 08:10

Hi all, would love to Nemo, but dh has me on a buying ban.....
We're trying to sort our finances out! lol....
Have to say he's being rather good at the mo tho, knocked 3 things off our list to do around the house on Sunday, and then last night, said once baby is born, he's going to do and stick to a cleaning rota and will do all the cooking on the weekends he's not working, as he wants to be a good role model for the kids especially bearing in mind he needs to learn to cook to do this! (although he can reheat a mean pizza!) not quite sure what's come over him??

Bella23 · 21/02/2006 09:13

Hello all

Cadmum - sorry to hear that things aren't going smoothly. Sounds like you are in good hands though, maybe little beanie just wants out.

Friz - wow your DH sounds like a bit of a marvel! I have to say even re-heating seems a little beyoond my DH's capabilities!

Nemo - arh, bless sounds like you've all had the dreaded lurgy which has been doing the rounds.

Rom - I am also a reformed smoker and have to say that don't ever really fancy one unless someone sticks a lovely big glass of wine in my hand and then the old craving comes back with a passion!! Such a shame they are death sticks!!

Munz - good luck for your DH to stop the old baccy. I know a few people who have managed to quit through this NHS help thingy which is advertised on TV. They give free patches etc. Might be worth looking into.

Well not much news here really. Just counting the days until the 6th March and praying that everything is alright. Stomach seems to be quite large but not sure if this is more to do with amount of cakes / chocolate I have consumed. Worried at the scan they will just say "oh there's no baby in there, its all lard dear!"

Well, the count down is almost beginning for more beanie deliveries....very excited

munz · 21/02/2006 09:48

oh caddy - fingers crossed for u, will keep u in my thoughts this week. as friz says better out than in and at least they're being very though in checking you over.

bella - he's tried the army give u one course free, he started on it but then went to iraq which they view as his course (6 weeks out of 20 or soemthing I think it was) so he's not able to get it again - so not happy, althou I must say yesterday he was in a freakishly good mood after no sleep and a patch on! lol - was scarey! lol@ the scan, I don't think there's any chance of that! lol, althou to be fair I was so nervous as well with the scan I think it's only natural. are you still feeling sick etc?

nemo - urgghh! yes u've had the bug as well?? apparently it's come from london - or so our mum recons (half of her school was down with it and her friend's school was actually shut) althou everything in portsmouth is said to come down from london! lol.

friz - don't knock it girl! lol. that's what we say if in doubt shove a pizza in the oven! lol. it's when DH starts cleaning the bathroom u need to worry! lol.

nemo - 9 weeks?? is she really? seems like only yesterday we were waiting for u girls to all pop! unfortunatly DH has me on a clothes buying ban as well! in his words all we NEED to get is a matress , I did try to protest and get my matching curtains/lamp shade but he said no we don't need it! (scroooge!) lol. will see what we've got after the bump is here.

no movements here, well lots of low movements last night incredible back ache and up every 4 hours for the loo but no movements of baby - getting worried now at the thought of going over and being induced this baby seems far too comfy!

Cadmum · 21/02/2006 11:33

Thanks for your warm wishes. I am trying not to be overly worried as I head in for my scan today. This is really doing my head in as things were going so well for this LO. At my 32 week scan baby was on the 53 centile and now they suspect that she is below the 5th...

DS1 was also a tiddler at 5 lbs 5 oz so I know only too well the work that lies ahead with the 24/7 feeding routine. My mum doesn't arrive until next Wednesday and DH has been working 12 hours a day even at the week-ends so I am anything but prepared and this all sounds like really lame excuses to not want to be induced to the Drs who know nothing about my insane life-style. We don't even have any furniture being delivered until Feb 28th...

The induction plan also terrifies me as I had such an awful time with DS1 and two of my miscarriages needed to be induced. I keep dreaming about delivering a still-born because I have waited too long worrying about all of the little things that don't actually matter in the grand scheme.

Sorry for the rant... I will let you know how my NST and scan go later today.

Take care of yourselves. Friz: You are supposed to be holding a baby before me so GET ON IT!!!!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 11:37

Cadmum good to hear from you, would they section you? if your very worried? Sure all will be ok, like you say you've had experience of this with ds1, so {{{Hugs}}} sure it will be ok.
As for the birth thing, I'm trying!!

Bella n Munz, I am dreading dh's idea of cleaning in certain places, may have to set some standards, lol....as for the cooking, do you think Gordon Ramsey would come round to teach dh?

Cadmum · 21/02/2006 11:46

Friz: I would rather have my leg amputated than have a section! I am petrified of all things medical. Thanks for the thought though. I will promptly add that to the list of things to worry about!

I acannot imagine the recovery from major abdominal op. added to the nightmare that I call my life. How would I function with a baby and 3 little people running around my ankles. Could be my ticket to being properly sectionned if you know what I mean. I picture a straight-jacket and a sound -proof room to recover from the last 6 years of full on insanity.

You have made me laugh until my belly hurts whick is a good thing because I could sure use a laugh... Thanks!

Cadmum · 21/02/2006 11:48

OOPS! Sorry for the typos... I am sitting in the dark on the hardwood floor with the keyboard in my lap... Everyone else is still in bed.

romilly · 21/02/2006 13:05

hi everyone - great to have cadmum back. sorry to hear you have had some added worries re: the growth scan hun. try not to worry too much - i am sure everything will be fine, they are keeping an eye on things now.

bella - enjoy those cakes - its the best part of pregnancy! guilt-free calories, lol......

hi nemo! hi munzie and friz! im off to do a hospital tour now so must get going.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 13:15

Ooooh have fun Rom, which hosp you going to?

Caddy well glad I made you laugh!! seriously tho, I was thinking if the c-sect you, you'd get more chance to recover in hospital?? without lots of kids in tow?? doh! I'm with you on the not wanting one tho, like you say induction less of the two evils.....

ooooh sounds v posh to me!

romilly · 21/02/2006 18:20

lol friz - there were a few chelsea mums on the tour asking about private rooms at £750 for after the birth! i will be staying on the "normal" ward with my ear plugs and NHS best custard puddings for the record

Cadmum · 21/02/2006 21:13

Scan and Non-Stress-Test went well but baby is a little one... Not realy sure what the best solution is as I would sure prefer to wait until my mum is here next week (and post pay-day/ fruniture delivery but I don't want to risk this lo's life reaching for the ideal. I have an appt with the ObGyn tomorrow to discuss induction. Suspect that I will have a February baby. Longing to meet this little person now anyhow. Any guesses on gender? Shall I try to post the latest scan picture?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 21/02/2006 21:29

I'm guessing a small boy, as that's what you had before Cadmum, glad all went ok, bar the size, looks like you may be having your baby before me then let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Rom, how much, talk about cashing in! Yep I'd highly recommend ear plugs for ward, either that or Ipod!

MeAndMyBoy · 21/02/2006 21:37

I'm glad your little one is ok even if a bit small Cadmum. Fingers crossed all goes well for you tomorrow. Will be thinking about you tomorrow.

Sorry I have to run now, take care everyone and I'll try and catch up when this week calms down a bit lol

Lots of hugs
H x

MeAndMyBoy · 21/02/2006 21:38

Oops meant to say guess at a little girl for you Cadmum.

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 08:06

cadmum sweetie induction is not always horrendous. Both of mine were induced and I managed to avoid c section. Thinking of you today, by the way I think its a boy as they are always trouble makers in utero but make up for it by being content angels on the outside..lol

Cadmum · 22/02/2006 08:52

Thanks Nemo...

So here it is 3:50 am and I cannot sleep. What is up with that? I almost wondered if it was early labour pains that woke me up at 2 ish but now I am not so convinced...

Hope you are all well. I see the consultant today at 1:30 so should know more then.

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 08:54

cad maybe baby knows how you are stressing so has decided to give you a helping hand and let nature take its course..you never know you may not get to see the consultant

munz · 22/02/2006 08:56

ooh cads good luck today hope all works out well, got a quick q for u second timers..

help!!! is it???

got up this AM (about 5 mins ago) and had noticeable tummy cramps - assumed was wind as didn't go yesterday. anyhow, couldn't even wait to stand up fully b4 had dribbles - (assumed was peepee as i've been bit lax with pelvic floor) anyhow got a towel and went to the loo, pushed a touch as if to pee and did pee then stopped so wiped - loads and loads of CM so wiped again and there was what can only be described as a clear thick snail trail type of substance .

I know bubba's fully engaged now but I didn't expect to have a show the day after being told he was!

this is the first one and when I stand up can feel the pee/fluid coming out - there wasn't much colour to the fluid and no smell.

now I just have aches in my pelvic area - but again could be wind - might try to poopey in a bit, should I ring DH home do u think? his bosses are being real twats right now. shall I ring the m/w I don't wanna look a fool if it was only pee and a slight show but also don't wanna run the risk of anything if it's my waters. iycwim.

and to think today I was gonna go for a coffee with a mate - not to mention paydays not till tomorrrow and tesco.com's not coming till friday!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 22/02/2006 09:00

Possibility it could be a show and your hind waters munz, I'd ring the midwife to be sure tho, it could just be things loosening up you bugger you'd better not drop before me
