Romilly: You are following in my footsteps except with a DD!!! Our DS1 was posterior and induced because of pre-eclampsia. I have to say that the whole process was quite a nightmare. (NOT what you wanted to hear, I know.) I tried all of the crawling around on all fours and rolling around squatting forward on a birthing ball but DS just would not budge. DS2 was exactly the same. They were both born face up (considered good 'luck' [did I actually use that word?!?!] to the First Nations people in Western Canada. Only DS2 threatened to get his shoulders wedged firmly in my pelvis as both boys heads were delivered with 1 mighty push.

I may have cracked to code on an ObGyn at Beth Israel Hospital (not exactly my 1st choice but certainly a very good hospital). The Ob Nurse is willing to make sure that I find a Dr. and guarantees me an appt as soon as I get my notes faxes from Ottawa. (I felt really nervous about requesting this before I had a guarantee that someone is willing to take over my ante-natal care.

Cadmum · 25/01/2006 21:04

Haven't tried accupucture but I know a reflexologiest who does successfully induce labours. (sadly, she is no longer in London but I could ask her for more info for you.)

MeAndMyBoy · 25/01/2006 21:55

Bella that is fantastic news - as you say 1 milestone reached so on to the next. Hope you have a fab relaxed huge evening you and DH.

Wendy - lots of prayers coming your way over the next few days.

hello to everyone else hope you are good - lots of things going on!!

Rom - glad your scan was good, there are a couple of websites that have good info about moving posterior babies, one thing I did was straddle a chair and leaning forwards put my arms on the back of it - you open your pelvis sat like this and leaning forwards gravity works on the baby's back to help it move. Isn't it just the way things work with your completion date looking likely to fall on your due date! I hope it doesn't for you.

Cadmum, I hope that you've been able to sort out your ObGyn today and can then relax a little bit more - have you moved into your new place yet? or have I just been lax and missed the post.

Munz, Friz how are you both doing ladies? sooooo excited for you both

SK sending labour vibes to you hun hope that things have kicked of for you.

Tabs, Handbag, DQ, George how are you doing ladies?

Nemo - how are you feeling? I wanted to CAT you a couple of days ago to see how you were doing as I hadn't seen you on here for a bit, but wasn't sure if I should, so sending you hugs instead.

trix1 · 25/01/2006 22:29

Just found this thread tonight, I remember a lot of the names from the ttc threads over the last 18 months. Bella my consultant told me today if there is a heartbeat at 6 weeks then the pregnancy has 95% chance of being successful - good odds, glad everything went well for you today.

Wendy11 - Keeping my fingers crossed for you, if anyone deserves this its you and your dh.

Nemo1977 · 25/01/2006 22:42

hello trix how are you?

MAMB aww hun thanks for thinking of me..been ok just a bit blah from the cold etc. Adam is being very trying with the potty training seems to be angelic for a few days then does something really soft like tonights just getting his bits out to pee on the dog!!! was quite funny but not allowed to show that..pmsl How is your ds doing?
if you ever want to hun feel free to cat me or to email on [email protected]

trix1 · 25/01/2006 22:51

HI Nemo, Im fine thanks, 11 Weeks pregnant after 12 months of trying since 3rd m/c. Things are looking good this time round, having weekly scans.

Im have a brouse of MN tonight and have just seen your daughter - what a beauty and congratulations, is she keeping you up at night?

romilly · 26/01/2006 20:03

trix1 - congrats on being 11 weeks pregnant hun - only one week to go 'til that first 12 week milestone and your scan.

cadmum: uh oh, no that is not what i wanted to hear! but dont worry, i knew it already! did you have to have other interventions? forceps, ventouse? you didnt have a c-section ever then?

romilly · 26/01/2006 20:05

p.s. caddy: forgot to say that is very kind of you to offer to ask your reflexologist friend what she thinks - if you get a chance i'd love to know, but only if you get a chance - dont want to make more work for you!

romilly · 26/01/2006 20:35

just seen sweetkittys news in birth announcements - she's had a lovely healthy strapping 9lb baby girl, no induction - at home!

congrats SK

Frizbetheexpansionset · 26/01/2006 22:22

Wey hey, congrats sk will go and look that up now!!

Bella Hurrah fab news

Cadmum, great news, so looks like your in then, sorry but I'm still waiting on replies here....mates of mates...pah eh!

Trix, congrats and good luck hon

Hope all are well, just large n lumpy here

Cadmum · 27/01/2006 03:27

Woo Hoo SK! I am so pleased for you and very impressed that you delivered a 9 pounder at home!!!

Looks as though I am back to Canada for Monday and Tuesday to sign for my notes and make my appt (so there is no break in my ante-natal care). Seems a bit of a production but so is every other aspect of my life at the moment so why not this too!!!

Our move in date is scheduled for the 1st and my flight arrives that morning at 8:00. Should be an action packed day!!

I must drag my bones to bed but I will try to catch up tomorrow!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 27/01/2006 10:12

bloomin ek cadmum, don't over do it!

HandbagAddiction · 27/01/2006 14:38

Oooh - lots of news to catch up on! Fantastic news from Trix1 about being pregnant - I'm sure I remember you from the TTC threads! .

Also Bella - what a great outcome from your scan - I cried with relief at my 7 weeks scan when she picked up the heartbeat so quickly - it was an amzing sense of relief. So pleased for you .

Lovely also to see SK's announcement.

So - how are you all? Cadmum - don't really know you too well, but I can't believe what hassle you're having trying to get some ante-natal care in the US - I really feel for you.

Romilly - how's your blood pressure doing these days?

Munx and Frizbe - hope you're both hanging in there - not too long to go now eh?

MAMB - so glad to see you still posting on here. Hope things are going well for you in your world!

Wendy11 - any updates - how are you feeling? Still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

As for me - well - just feeling bloated, fat and uncomfortable...and I've still got 17 weeks to go! Bean is wriggling around all the time which is great but I feel huge - feel so much bigger than I did last time for DD and now I realise why they make sure that maternity clothes can extend out so far - feel like I'm going to need it and not only that...having got away with no stretchmarks last time...I can't believe that with 17 weeks to go, that will happen...and it's depressing me! Ridiculous I know...but hey.

Compared to some people, I am having an incredibly easy time and I do realise it....but it's Friday, I'm tired, I've had the week from hell at work and I feel I need to whinge!!!

Sorry if I've missed anyone else off the list...really hope you all have lovely weekends.

Cadmum · 27/01/2006 14:43

Friz: Thanks for your concern; my parents are on your side as well...I know that I must be absolutely insane but I just don't see any way around it.

The ObGyns here are apprehensive about taking me as a patient because of the high rate of mal-practice (and the fact that there is a private-school holiday for 2 weeks in March!!). If I miss my appt. on Tuesday then this would be sufficient reason for a Dr. here to not take me as a patient... I also need to sign for my records (notes) to be faxed to the new hospital so it is just easier all around to go home and do that.

Rom: I avoided a CSection with DS1 by 2 minutes as he was born at 7:28 a.m. and the section was scheduled for 7:30! My SIL assures me that it is possible to move a posterior baby by spending time on your hands and knees and by climbing up and down the stairs sideways... Worth the effort, I suppose. I am in fairly regular contact with my friend the reflexologist and I wanted to ask her for my sake as well. Will let you know of my findings.

Munz: Sorry that I have had no time to properly reply to your email. Life is chaos!!

Hope everyone else is well. We are off to Brooklyn for the day once I stop at the Gap to pick up DS2 a new winter coat (his zip broke yesterday). It is really cold here today!

Cadmum · 27/01/2006 14:49

Handbagaddiction: I do remember you from the TTC threads! This consultant lark is starting to do my head in for sure. Who would have thought that it could be such a challenge?!?! (Or maybe I am just daft?)

I share you worry about stretch marks. It does seem rather silly but since I have avoided them through 3 children, I would be somewhat bitter about getting them with my last baby! I have never been so big and I still have at least 3 weeks left. (I keep checking to see if the dreaded red/purple marks are there.) My mum assures me that she was absolutely massive with my brother and she doesn't have any. Whatever shall be shall be. Best wishes for your next 17 weeks of getting bigger.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 27/01/2006 22:24

Oh caddy your lucky with the stretchies!! looks like you have good genetics.
Hi handbag, good to see your still lurking out there
Had a mare of a day today, 'new' car played up, so late to collect stepson involved all sortes of calls to his mum/school/childminders etc, in meantime, car was not actually ill, just saying it was....computerised dash.....its back to the dealers on sunday pm, so they can examine it asap mon....luckily old car is still with us and taxed and insured until end of Tuesday......

Tabs · 28/01/2006 07:11

Hey Trix - just wanted to say congrats again. I posted on the ttc after m/c thread (or maybe the pg after m/c thread?) for you a while ago, but that thread moves so quickly that I don't know if you saw it or not! Was really pleased to hear that you are pg again, and glad to hear that it's going well still.

trix1 · 28/01/2006 09:32

Cheers Tabs - Ive just had a scroll down the thread are you due any day now? congratulations to you too.

How are you feeling?

sweetkitty · 28/01/2006 22:49

hi gals just catching up with you all

thanks for all the congratulations, still cannot believe she is here and I avoided the dreaded induction, I was having such a miserable week last week too with the sinusitis and thinking DP was going to miss the birth and there you go. Also cannot believe she was 9lb 3ozs after DD1 who was only 6lbs 3ozs (although a month less cooking for her) only had a small tear no stitches and the labour was only 2 1/2 hours but v v v painful. Having a homebirth was fantastic too. Baby Talia is lovely and feeding well so far, so we are all loved up here

Congrats Trix and Tabs will follow your pregnancies and will look out for the announcements.

Cadmum - cannot believe the amount of hassle you are having, hope it is sorted for you soon and you can concentrate on having your new baby.

I hope everyone else is doing well and not feeling not uncomfortable, it is so lovely not to be pregnant anymore I feel so light and comfortable again. I will check up on you all from time to time and can't wait for all the announcements

romilly · 29/01/2006 13:55

Hi SK - great to see you back on here. sounds like you had a pretty amazing birth, well done. love the name talia too, so pretty.

Nemo1977 · 29/01/2006 14:01

in a bit of a reflective mood today and just wanted to thank all you fantastic beanie ladies for your help and support without you all I would never have made it to being here today with my 6wk old DD who gave me her first smile at 6am this morning thanks soo much all huge hugs!!!!!

romilly · 29/01/2006 17:54

awww nemo - back atcha hun! how lovely, hannah's first smile at 6 weeks. i am sooooo looking forward to all those things. just get the birth done first!

Cadmum · 29/01/2006 20:38

Ah Nemo! How right you are that we would all be lost withour each others support. It is so nice to know that we are all here for each other. I can't believe that 6 weeks have passed since your announcement. It scares me how quickly time is passing... Before long we will all be holding fresh, little people!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 29/01/2006 21:51

Aww Nemo 1st smile soooo lovely, totally agree re support also, thanks guys!

Well 36 weeks today! yikes, so I guess I'm technically next hey? argh.......
have eaten a ton of Chinese today, as someone somewhere suggested it can get you moving! that's a good excuse anyway!

Hope all are ok?

MeAndMyBoy · 29/01/2006 23:38

Sk fab congratulations enjoy being loved up.

Nemo - Awww so cool first smile - hope it made you feel good.

Trix,Tab and Handbag hi ladies

Caddy - I was telling DH about the hassles you've been having and then my jaw hit the floor when I read that you've only 3 weeks til your due date!! huge respect to you - I have NO idea how you do it, I'm knackered just reading it.

Rom how are you?

Munz, friz - hope you're both ok and not feeling too squished and uncomfortable. friz about the Chinese will have to remember that one.

Well been to a fab fab training session today for our business and I am STILL buzzing having just finished my tax return - was easy in the mood I am in at the moment - no point going to bed yet I am going to bouncing for hours yet - need some customers to call to work it off but I don't think they'll appreciate midnight calls really .
