Sk thinking of you!!

Rom hope the growth scan is ok today hun

Not a lot going on here we are all full of cold. Worst thing is poor hannah cant take anything for it. So feeling awful and having to deal with 2 tots is having its toll on me but not a lot can do about it. Luckily DH has not caught it yet which means I havent had to deal with 'man flu'

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/01/2006 09:33

Morning all, haven't read the thread yet, just wanted to post this bit of news (sorry SK if your still hanging on) as some of you may remember tictac from our trying to concieve thread!

Hi all, this is ticTacs DH (husband, hope i got the dh bit right!) Well, after feeling a few niggles yesterday and having 'shows', her waters broke at midnight last night. Told to go in to hospital for a checkup etc...at 5.12 am she produced a beautiful little girl! - 6lbs, 12 and a half oz. Both are doing well and sleeping on the maternity ward, and ticTac requested when i got home to let u all know. Right off to bed afor i fall asleep at the keyboard. 5 hour labour from waters breaking with only gas and air. She did good. both of us are now in complete shock!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 23/01/2006 09:36

Oh Nemo, sorry about the colds hope they go away soon!

Dizzydi hello again!!

Rom hope your not too stressed out {{{Hugs}}}

Munz, hope your eating properly

Caddy, no news yet, but will post asap

SK, {{{Big Hugs}}}

Wendy, hope all is well today

and big hi to anyone else I may have missed, haven't done it on purpose! but rushing off to exercise class now, with my slightly larger bump in tow, dredding TP tuesday.....

Bella23 · 23/01/2006 09:59

Morning ladies.

Thanks for the encouragement to keeping me sane before my scan on Wednesday.
To be honest I have been trying not to think about it as I feel very sick at the thought. DH is very optimistic which helps to combat any of my negativity.
What will be will be on Wednesday so I know there is no point stressing ? ye right, easier said than done.

Rom ? wow not long to go now honey, is the time really dragging now? So exciting though that you are nearly there!!

George ? oh dear sounds like there isn?t much sleeping going on, yikes! Fingers crossed you get some soon.

Wendy ? I have all positive vibes are out there in the universe so hope you are feeling some of them.

Right best do some work, have no enthusiasm at the moment, arh well got bills to pay so better make an effort!!

DQ and the rest of the gang ? hope the weekend was good

sweetkitty · 23/01/2006 10:14

Morning all yea it's me again and still pregnant! Feel like thats all I say now! Thanks for all the labour vibes girls keep them coming.

Dyzzidi - hiya good to see you, come over and join the girls on the Jan 06 post natal thread or check out the stats on the latest due in Jan thread about all the babies that have been born (mine not included I hasten to add).

Tictac - many congratulations on the birth of your little girl, look forward to hearing all the details soon, Friz thanks for letting us know.

Bella - best of luck for the scan x

Cadmum - I cannot believe the hassle you are having trying to find someone/somewhere to deliver your baby, hope it gets sorted soon.

Romilly - good luck for the growth scan

Hope everyone else is doing well too, doc has prescribed some antibiotics for me so hopefully a few days of them should sort me out enough to push this baby out.

Cadmum · 23/01/2006 16:39

SK: Hang in there hon; it would be much better to feel healthy when you have a newborn to contend with. Really hope that you are at the top of your game when the LO makes an appearance.

Wendy: Can't wait to hear how it all went yesterday. Keep your feet up and relax as much as possible. The 2 WW can feel like forever...

Bella: Only 2 more sleeps until you have some peace of mind. Bless your DH for trying to keep you feeling positive. I am sure that is no easy task but do try to remain as positive as possible. Look how far we have all made it (against the odds for some of us!!)

Friz: I really can't thank you enough for going to so much effort. I am trying to remain positive about the situation because no matter what obstacles I encounter in the mean time this baby is going to be born one way or the other so I am sure that everything will fall into place. Thankfully, I have had good ante-natal care up until now and my notes are complete so that makes me a less likely candidate to refuse. My SIL suggested sending out a fax to all of the ObGyns that deliver in suitable hospitals and that accept our insurance so that is my plan for tomorrow as my Cold-Call plan leaves me with a receptionist to battle through.

Hello Rom, Munz, George, Nemo, DQ, JaRM, Yingers, MandMB, Dyzzidi!

Woo Hoo TicTac. Lovely positive story to keep us all inspired... Love the idea of a five hour labour!

wendy11 · 24/01/2006 10:14

Hello everyone

Just wanted to let you know that I have tow 6 cell embryos on board as of Sunday morning.

All I can do now is hope and pray that they are going to stick around for a long time. Trying really hard to take it easy and not stress but when you are a born worrier like me that is virtually impossible.

I have said on the IVF thread but I will say it again - I also post on an IVF site but I can honestly say that I have never met as caring, kind, considerate people as I have on MN and in particular the beanie crowd, you all deserve every happiness in the world.

Bella - I have everything crossed for you for your scan tomorrow. All is going to be OK this time - I just know it. Take care

To all the other beanie - please take really good care of yourself and I will stay in touch over the next 2 weeks

Bella23 · 24/01/2006 10:44

Wendy ? Hoorah! 6 on board eh, fab.
mmm ? entering the dreaded 2 week wait. Try and watch some good films over the next 14 days, I find them a good form of escapism. Anything to keep the old mind occupied. Just take one day at a time, easier said than done I know but it?s the only way to go.
With all the positive energy from the beanie crowd behind you, the outcome can only be good.

Well Scan day tomorrow. Started stressing a bit this morning about it. I still have really painful boobs (and weeing a lot) but apart from that I can?t really say I have noticed any other symptom. As dreadful as I know morning sickness is I would so love to feel sick just so I would have a good symptom.
Does anybody remember back to the early days ? did anyone not feel sick?

Sorry ladies as you can see the paranoia has set in !!

Hope you are all having a good Tuesday

romilly · 24/01/2006 10:51

wendy that is wonderful that you have two 6 cell embryos on board - now you better take it really easy hun and dont let yourself worry - visualize that baby growing inside you! i heard the fertitility expert zita-west talking about positive visualization right from conception!

those were very touching words you said about the beanie gang - well you know we are all together in this and backing you every step of the way. we all started out together and the happiest day will be when we can all be on here chatting about our toddlers ((((((((((hugs and prayers and a million positive thoughts))))))) for you wendy.

bella - same goes for you too! all the best for that scan tomorrow - we will be on tenterhooks waiting to hear from you. that first scan is very special.

well sorry i couldnt get on yesterday - but i had my growth scan and am delighted to say that my ob. said everything is absolutely fine. baby is nearly 5lbs so not too big for my dates, and amniotic fluid is normal. huuuuge sigh of relief! he did say he will not let me go over my due date though. so it may be induction for me....ouch!

congrats to tictac

SK - what are the antibiotics for?

romilly · 24/01/2006 10:56

bella - absolutely no-one from my NCT classes had morning sickness and most people i moaned to about mine during my early weeks could not relate - so you are perfectly normal, honestly! my sister didnt have it at all with any of her pregnancies and look at what happened to me! so there are no rules. sore boobs is a great sign!

Bella23 · 24/01/2006 11:00

Arh thanks Rom - really needed to hear that!!
Feeling a lot less paranoid now

Cadmum · 24/01/2006 13:28

Wendy: Fabulous news! We really are all here for you and hoping that that this is your big chance! (I happen to love MN for the same reasons as well. Never managed to find a North American site that was 1/2 as supportive.)

Bella: I was not sick until well after 7 weeks (and paranoid about feeling too well!) so you are still fine! I have a great friend who has four little people and she hasn't been sick with any of the pregnancies. (She does have both genders represented as well!)

Romilly: Great news on your scan!! My bean was estimated to be about 4 lbs 9 oz last Tuesday so perhaps only slightly smaller than yours. Good news on the not being allowed to go over your due date although induction can be a tough road. At least you won't have to wait to go over before the induction threats begin.

Munzie: Where are you today? Everything well with you and bean?

I am off to make dozens more calls to ObGyns as I was awake most of last night stressing about not knowing what to do as the labour pains were coming fast and furious. I am now convinced that I must be insane for even considering a move at this late stage... If my mum wasn't flying to New York at the beginning of March, I think that I might chicken-out and have the baby in Canada... Oh the decisions... How can a pregnant woman be left to make such choices? I can barely decide what to wear on any given day!!!

Bella23 · 24/01/2006 13:28

Need advice ladies pleeeeaaase

Just been to see my acupuncturist who was telling me that I shouldn't go for a scan until at least 8 weeks as there is a chance that they won't see the heartbeat until then.

In a real dilema now as have really geared myself up to go tomorrow and now don't know if I should put it off until next week when I will be 8 weeks.
If I go tomorrow I will be 2 days off being 7 weeks.

What shall I do ???

Cadmum · 24/01/2006 13:32

Bella: I would go. You have been waiting for the appt. for long enough and it will make you feel so much better to see that baby is the right size for your dates even on the off-chance that a heart-beat is not detected.

It is hard to make all of these decisions, isn't it?

Cadmum · 24/01/2006 13:38

I just had a quick 'google' and there is the possibility that even at 6 1/2 weeks a heart beat might not be detectable. They would be able to measure the LO and the yolk sack would be clearly visible and it would confirm that the pregnancy is properly located in your uterine lining...

These would all be good things to know and I suspect that they would invite you back within a few weeks if no heartbeat was found...

I stand by my original post: I would go. HTH

Bella23 · 24/01/2006 13:40

Thanks Cadmum - I must admit my initial reaction is to just go.
mmm...yes these decisions are really bloody difficult aren't they!

Cadmum · 24/01/2006 14:15

Bella: It seems a bit of a shame that the acupuncturist told you not to go... Follow your own instincts. How sure of dates are you?

Bella23 · 24/01/2006 14:21

I am really positive of the dates as my periods are pretty clockwork.
Yes am going to forget what the acupunctist said and go.
As you say they will be able to measure all is ok etc.
Thanks Cadmum - just threw me off there for a bit.

Cadmum · 24/01/2006 14:24

Fair enough! You are bound to feel very vulnerable at this stage. I really hope that all goes beautifully and that you go to bed with a big smile on your face tomorrow night!
