OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Cadmum · 16/01/2006 19:02

Friz: I shall print myself one out this evening. I will have nothing but peace and quiet as this will be the first night that I have spent all by myself since DS1 was born nearly 9 years ago. I am looking forward to having a bed all to myself!!

Nemo: Glad that you sound a little more up-beat.
Hope the potty training continues to go well and that Hannah remains easy (ish).

SK: Are you in labour yet?

I feel positively wretched today. Not ill exactly but slight headache and a bit of an upset tummy. Perhaps it is just nerves but I am shattered and longing to put my feet up and have a nap. (Don't see it in the near future with packing and 3 little people to amuse.

My parents have booked a trip to New York that we are all hoping will coincide with the LO's arrival. They will be here from the 1st to the 16th of March. Mum has kindly offered to stay on for longer if required. I was starting to fret about the possibility of having the baby in a haopital all by myself while DH took care of the other 3 but now as long as baby is not as early as DS1 or 2 then my mum will be able to stay with the kids.

I must turn this computer off and run to the grocery shop as we are out of everything and DH and the kids plan to eat during my absence (WHAT A BOTHER!!!).

Take care. Will catch up on Wednesday.

Ooh Rom - you've got me wanting fish fingers after reading your post now - don't think I have any in though.

Bella - agree with the others that over 6 weeks should be okay for your scan as long as you are sure of dates. I had mine at 8+4, but that was my choice to wait that long as it was a day longer than last babe had made it. What date are you planning on having it so that we can send good scan vibes?

Cadmum - prob missed you now, but have a safe trip.

MAMB - great news - go for it!

romilly · 16/01/2006 19:54

lol tabs - i have some in my freezer still, emergency fish fingers in case of nausea return!

bella - i had my early scan at 6 weeks (i couldnt wait any longer!) and it was such a boost to see a lovely strong heartbeat. i think your timing will be fine, cause then you have the 12 week nuchal scan to look forward to. like cadmum said, i found it enormously helpful pschologically. after 6 weeks i was puking constantly so felt very pregnant all the time! please remember that doesnt happen to most people though (thankfully!)

munz - YUP! that is the stuff - tell your friend to get some! i always put loads of the Avent morning sickness relief drops all over my pillow at night too. the preggy pops were expensive and total crap IMO. some of the flavours even made me feel sicker! i think normal lemon sweets are better and a fraction of the price.

hi nemo - nice to hear you sounding chirpier

cadmum - hope the trip to canada goes well and doesnt exhaust you too much.

SK??????? anything going on????!!!!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 16/01/2006 20:00

Was just thinking that knowing cadmums luck she'll probably have baby tonight! as 1st time alone in 9 years and chance for a decent kip, Hope you enjoy your trip cadmum and nothing untoward happens.

sweetkitty · 16/01/2006 21:42

hi all afraid nothing is happening here

Nemo - good to hear from you and glad Hannah is putting on weight and the potty training is also going well.

Cadmum - have a comfortable and safe trip

Hope everyone else is doing OK with their beanies and babies xxx

Frizbetheexpansionset · 17/01/2006 08:45

sk, maybe something has happened by now!!

Bella23 · 17/01/2006 08:50

Thanks ladies for advice.
Tabs - plan is to got for a scan next Wednesday so yes all positive vibes welcome

sweetkitty · 17/01/2006 08:54

Nothing happening here sorry, got stinking cold (as has 18 mo DD making her v cranky), DP being horrible, feeling very sorry for myself today

Hope everyone else has a good day x

HandbagAddiction · 17/01/2006 13:14

Afternoon ladies - time for a quick update from me. Had my scan yesterday which was brilliant - although sorry to disappoint you..but I resisted the urge to find out the sex! DH was really against it and since I get to make most of the rest of the decision relating to being pregnant, I thought it only fair to indulge him! I was so tempted though! The only not so good thing is that I have a low lying placenta. Not too serious as there's currently only the edge of it which is hanging over the birth canal - so the sonographer is 99% certain that it will move. I have to go back for another scan at 32 weeks though just to see what it's doing! At least I have an explanation for my two episodes of bleeding now though.

So, how's everyone else doing?

Bella - will be thinking of you this week for your scan. I had one at 7 weeks after my first bleed and it was great - a kidney bean with a heartbeat!

Munz, Frizbe, Romilly, Meandmyboy - hope you're all OK and keeping well.

To everyone else that I don't know so well - great to catch up on all your news and I wish you all well.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 17/01/2006 13:24

oooh handbag you jammy git you get another scan a lot later on! don't worry I had that prob with dd, and it moved out of the way, and I have a great scan pic of her sucking her thumb

Oh SK {{{{Big Hugs}}}}} hope snotty orrible cold goes away soon and baby arrives pronto, any signs of anything at all?

romilly · 17/01/2006 17:23

wendy: meant to get on here earlier today to wish you all the best for the scan today. i really hope it all went well.

just off to my NCT breastfeeding class tonight so cant be long. big hello to all x

munz · 17/01/2006 20:48

ooh it was wend's scan today?? hope all went well for u wendy, fingers crossed, is this one for collection or just to have a look?

rom - how did the class go? come on spill the beans - if we BF are we gonna get saggy boobies! lol. have decided to get her the stick thingy to try, thanks for the tips. she's had the scan today and is apparently only 9 weeks so not as far - i'm thinking boy now on account of the dreams! lol - my friend had a DD 2 years ago and never had a day's sickness so I guess it depends on the person really??

HA - glad ur scan went well, I managed to have an extra scan as well - the one after that 20 week one seemed to be soo much clearer. - don't forget to get a piccy, hope the placenta moves for u.

SK- fingers crossed for u hon, hope it won't be long.

bella - fingers crossed for u as well honney, hope all goes well.

cads - how was your apt? hope u managed to get there and back safely - althou must agree it's a bit of a trek! lol. any luck with medical care in NY? did u get the apt in the end? at the no strech marks bit! lol. hope you manage to get the children into a good school.

MMB - woohooo u're TTC again, u go girl! lol

not much going on here, TP tuesday again! lol. i'm still hovering at 8.5/8 last night. so fingers crossed the baby's growing but only pushing my internal organs about! lol. getting more kicks in the ribs again

are many of u still driving? mum's getting paranoid about me driving now - any ideas when u should stop? - I was planning on stoppin when I finish work at 37 weeks - is that ok?

anyhow hope all's well with everyone.

sweetkitty · 17/01/2006 20:55

Evening all no nothing to report here, where is this baby, I'm so big and uncomfortable there can't be anymore room left in here now.

Munz - I'm still driving at 40 weeks plus not long journeys but down the local high street and back. It can be quite uncomfortable at times especially as I need the seat pushed right up (short legs) and the bump is hitting off the steering wheel. Just see how you feel yourself about it.

Hope everyone else is doing well take care x

munz · 17/01/2006 21:05

have u tried all the natural things SK? lol - u'll have to get your DH on bedroom duties! lol.

my tum's still a way off the steering wheel, but it's starting to get uncomfortable - esp as I cna't turn and get out - have to put the seat back first! lol

sweetkitty · 17/01/2006 21:09

Munz - I have tried everything and it's not easy with the bump and SPD.

Re the driving I've forgotten what it's like to not drive with bump and putting the seat in and out.

MeAndMyBoy · 17/01/2006 22:30

Sweetkitty - sending you lots of labour vibes and have my fingers crossed that it happens very soon for you. I have siatica (sp) and not PG and it's awful so heaven alone knows how you're struggling. Hope the cold clears up too, visions of you sneezing DB out .

Cadmun hope your trip (or should that be trek) went ok.

Munz don't think I did give up driving, was working like you are up to 37 weeks and then had a couple of weeks at home before DS arrived a couple of days early - actually no I didn't I remember going to home base for stuff to decorate the new bathroom with while on Mat leave before he was born.

Handbag - glad everything is ok with you and to another scan how nice . How's DD?

Friz, love your new name by the way, how's things with you?

Tabs thanks for the wishes so whats doing with you? (as the saying goes)

Bella - I have everything crossed for you, excellent news about the early scan.

Rom how're you doing hun?

I'm sure Wendy will be along soon to tell you, but I sneaked a peak at the other thread and she has said the scan was good and that they go back Thursday I think for collection - so lots of good wishes for Thursday and Friday for a good call to say lots of embryo's to go back on Sunday.

Hello to everyone else hope you're doing ok.

Night night
H x

god just previewed and that's huge sorry

Tabs · 18/01/2006 09:12

Munz - hoping to stop driving once I go into labour! Would be a prisoner in own home otherwise, as too far in middle of nowhere to walk anywhere, and DH still working in Dublin.

HA - you spoilsport not finding out the sex! Or maybe you're just creating more of a sport by keeping us guessing for another 20 weeks!

MAMB - all good here. Just attempting to stop work isn't going so well at the moment - keep hoping that every day will be my last! Would be nice to get a couple of weeks off before she arrives. Birth plan is written now though, and good news is that DH will now be home for a week prior to due date, so less worried about him missing birth now.
Thanks for the update on Wendy.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/01/2006 09:59

Tabs, STOP WORKING NOW!!! that's you told

Munz, oopse forgot to measure am 34 cm for 34 weeks tho, so probably 9-10 sheets....

Thanks for the update on wendi's scan, we're routing for you Wendi

Hi M&MB glad things are ok with you, just poddling on here! bit of pubic pain where bump is bouncing around, ho hum eh!

Rom, how's the house thing going with the solicitors, are they underway?

SK, really, really hope you get a sign of something happening soon hon {{{Hugs}}}

Cadmum, hope all went ok

Sorry if I've not mentioned anyway, but I am thinking of all of you! Just had some nice men from the fire service around for a house check, did you know they can do you free smoke alarms, they fit them and everything!! if your lucky you can also blag, safety covers from the for the plugs too, and infra red pens to mark your tv get should they get nicked

wendy11 · 18/01/2006 11:24

Hello everyone

I hour hope you are all well and taking care of your bumps

Firstly can I just thank you all for your good wishes. It means alot to me.

I had my scan yesterday and all is looking good so far. I have 3/4 follicles on each ovary and womb lining is thickening up nicely according to the consultant so back tomorrow morning at 10.30 for egg collection We will know then how many eggs are in those follicles. Egg colletion doesn't really worry me, but the phone call on Friday morning to see how many have fertilised is scaring me witless!! If all is OK at fertilisation we should be back to the clinic on Sunday for embryo transfer and then it is onto the 2ww.

I will keep you updated on my progress over the next few days.

Bella23 · 18/01/2006 15:06

Wendy - great to hear the update. Am willing you on as always. Hope the time goes quickly

Cadmum · 18/01/2006 15:31

Wendy: That is such great news! Thanks for the update. Really hoping that this is your month! I have friends expecting their second IVF baby in 6 months and they had several attempts for their son but the second one took on the first try. You have been through SO much for this much wanted LO that I pray this is your time. Sending you oodles of prayers and warm wishes.

My trek home went well. The scan and the appt. went well. It took ages for the sonographer to be satisfied that she had seen a solid 30 seconds of breathing for the bio-physical profile which was a bit of a nightmare for me since this was the problem that lead to the induction of DS1. My mission was successful as I came back with baby clothes, bedding and nappies as well as our bedding, towels, the computer, and a few kitchen essentials for our first few days in the new flat.

I got the impression that the consultant thinks I am mad for even contemplating moving when I am 33 weeks pg but he doesn't know how hellish the last year has been for me/us. He did agree to forward my notes if I can find someone here to take over my care. I suspect that since money is involved that this should not pose too big a challenge!

SK hope you are in the throws of labour as I type.

Bella: One more day gone. Hope the wait is not horrible.

Take care of yourselves. This is long enough to publish as a novel but I will post more later today once I have entertained/taught the Little People running around my ankles!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/01/2006 15:31

Aww Good stuff Wendy, fingers v crossed for you, BTW just as an aside, did you see the article in the observer on Sunday?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/01/2006 15:33

Cadmum cross posts! glad all went well

Cadmum · 18/01/2006 20:35

Where is everyone today? Hope you are all well and taking care of bumps/babies.

I am too tired to think properly today... I have done literally NOTHING all day.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/01/2006 22:37

I'm lurking for a bit! So was your night on your own a fabulously sleep filled one?
