Here you go girls!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Cadmum · 12/01/2006 21:42

SK: Sorry about the waiting around. The last few days can seem endless but do remember that sometimes a LO is easier in than out! At least you can sleep for some portion of the night and you may not be so lucky in a few weeks...

Rom: Good thinking on the house front. I sure wish that we didn't have to contemplate another pg. move. Now I am all stressed about schools because the mothers in the park today were giving me the impression that it will be impossible to obtain a place in a decent school for our older two. ARGH! This is NOT what I was hoping to hear.

Nemo: I hope that you are feeling better today. Hang in there.

Munzie: You are honestly welcome anytime!

Friz: I do think that you are brave for taking Aqua-natal classes at this stage. I don't even want to imagine what I look like in a bathing suit. EEK!

How is everyone doing in the stretch mark dept.? I am afraid to look every day because my bump-skin aches so I am sure that it is all bound to give way shortly but so far so good.

Still haven't found an ObGyn or a Midwife yet and my SIL said that I should just show up at A&E in labour. Nice advice, eh?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 13/01/2006 09:03

Cadmum, its meant to be, it'll all be ok, sure your eldest two will get into a decent school {{{Hugs}}}
Stretchies holding at bay here at the mo, although I think I'm starting to see the old ones glowing faintly darker, last time they all errupted at 35/36 weeks, so fully expecting to wake up covered in purple lines one day....

Rom one of my friends had hypermesis with her now very lively little boy!!

munz · 14/01/2006 10:13

friz and double my marks are getting progressivly worse, been bio oiling by night and coco buttering by day! lol. thankfully thou for the minute they're only on the underneath of my bump, there's two patches of them on either side - not looking nice, should have done 2 times a day sooner.

how's ur doing cads?

gonna be having a look at my bag today/tomorrow can't believe it 33 weeks already! just looking at some stuff online as well in the next sale ooh it's soo lovely - now for the choice, do I buy locally where the prices are a bit cheaper but the quality when washing up doesn't appear as good compared to other next clotehs I have, or do I spend a bit more and get the quality from next given how long they're in them for? any thoughts?

hope everyone's ok, and those little babie's arn't keepin everyone awake.

SK - any movements yet hon?

munz · 14/01/2006 10:17

rom - can I pick ur brain as well, my firend who's PG< has now started to be mega sick, (I thought she was set for a boy but it's looking like a girl, anyhow) she can literally only manage to keep lolly pops and lemonade down appart form that is being sick all the time, a) what helped for u, (until now she's been able to have fairly large lunches/breakfasts etc well large for her. but now sickness is here she can't manage anything. i'm tempted to say eat anything whenever you can even if it's not partcually healthy only from the POV that at least they'll be something in her tum to bring up?? she was worried cos they didn't hear the heart at 12+3 or placenta or anything so has a scan booked for tues. but any ideas on what to suggest to help sickenss, I know she def can't handle lucasade (sp)

sweetkitty · 14/01/2006 11:46

Due date is today but nothing happening

Cadmum - the reason I am so desperate to get this one out is I have bad SPD/SI pain that hopefully will go on delivery, being this big along with having a 18 mo to look after isn't too great right now.

Munz - I do love next clothes and think they wash really well, I tend to buy in the sale for the next size up. I do buy cheaper things from Asda/Tesco/Primark but find they either wash out of shape or don't look as nice after a few washes. DD2 will be getting lots of DD1's clothes and they are mostly next that have washed well. Remember though that you will get laods of clothes as presents, people just can't help themselves think they are too cute. I made this mistake and had far too many clothes. Other people tend to buy you fancier bits too. DD has Baby Dior and a cashmere poncho!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 14/01/2006 17:15

awww SK have seen a lovely poncho today as well!!

Fingers x'd that you kick off tonight hon, have you gone off your food yet, it seems to be a sign?

Munz get your friend to try ginger ale, if that fails I have a friend who ate ice cream the whole way thru as that was all she could stomach, another friend swears by homeopathic sticks that you rub on your wrist, so check all options out!

munz · 14/01/2006 17:19

I did say that actually friz, what are the stick things? I was gonna suggest the wrist things as well, might go to H&B and see if there's something in there to help her. chedders helped her, as does apple - no idea why apples but that was all b4 she started being sick, now she can't even manage smells - not nice as fried food set me off in the first tri feeling sick. how r u doing today anyhow? not long now is it??

Frizbetheexpansionset · 14/01/2006 19:51

Oh fine thanks munz, just waiting for pizza to cook, whilst dh gets ss into bed, then off to watch trash tv!! Las Vegas is looking good on Sky 3!
argh 6 weeks tomorrow
How you doing?

munz · 14/01/2006 21:30

I know 7 officially tomorrow - i'm hoping for 5! lol. hoping the baby's moved down a touch - seems to be kicking my ribs less! lol - or he might have just moved position, last week was v uncomfy thou! lol.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 15/01/2006 19:29

argh 6 weeks, still waiting for dh to clear babys room of his rubbish, so if I were to drop now, no access to clothes, cot or moses basket! ho hum, like to see him trying to get that all sorted with the two kids running around him, when I'm still at the hosp (see I've just spotted a reason for not having a home birth! even tho that's what I think I'm going to go with!!)

SK how's it going, did you kick off last night??

romilly · 15/01/2006 20:01

hi all -

SK - thinking of you - lots of positive birthing thoughts coming your way

munz - dont tell your friend this, because it will only depress her, but when i was at my worst with the hyperemesis NOTHING and i mean nothing...would stay down. i remember ice cold water with a million ice cubes in it sucked through a straw would help ease the nausea. i had to have loads of ice trays constantly filled at work and home. it is purely trial and error on what you can face eating and it can be very limited - ie. for about a month i could manage fish fingers (with nothing else) in the evenings. normally i wouldnt touch a fish finger with a bargepole so that was a strange one. i did find that aromatherapy morning sickness stick on the wrists helped a bit - from george's website: mumstheword.com. DQ told me about that. i still use when i feel a bit nauseous. the best advice really is that she should eat whatever she fancies (even if it isnt the healthiest option) when she can face it. your body basically will tell you. i really feel for her because i personally dont believe in most of the remedies - ginger didnt work for me, nor did crackers, or lemonade. sorry to be so negative but i dont have good memories of that time!

munz · 15/01/2006 20:07

it's ok rom - thanks for the info anyways, i'll have a look at the bands for her, i'll prob see her one weds/thurs or something after the scan, so will mention it then, my logic was best to try something so there's at least something to bring up iycwim - or is that a false logic?

sk - fingers crossed u get some action tongiht hon!

romilly · 15/01/2006 20:17

no munz that is good advice. you just have to eat when you can even if you do bring it up straight away! the wristbands i still wear sometimes but the stick is what i meant btw. you roll the aromatherapy stuff onto your wrists.

munz · 15/01/2006 20:19

this one?

munz · 15/01/2006 20:21

did u try the preggy pops things?

Cadmum · 15/01/2006 23:33

SK: Hoping that you don't have much longer to wait...

Munz: I hesitate to say this but I don't have any stretch marks YET. I have never been so big and my skin is itchy and sore so I suspect that this may be the pregnancy that covers me in purple marks. My mum didn't get any though so perhaps I will be in the minority as well and remain markless.

I am flying back to Canada tomorrow for 23 hours because I have a scan and an appointment with the consulant on Tuesday a.m. and I need to collect some baby things and bedding from the house. I really need to sort out ante-natal care in New York but it is easier said than done. Thankfully, we managed to book the flight using air miles and the kids will only need to stay with a friend for a few hours as DH will leave work at 3:30 pm.

Will let you all know how it went when I am back on Wednesday.

Hope you are all well.

MeAndMyBoy · 16/01/2006 10:47

Hello ladies, how are you?

Just had to share this - we can start TTC-ing again this week Woohoo.

H x

ps I'll post later when I have caught up again.

Bella23 · 16/01/2006 11:25

Morning all ladies

Cadmum - have a safe flight

Rom - quick question. When did you have your first scan? I am planning to go when I am 2 days short of 7 weeks. Do you think this is too early and I should wait until 8 weeks etc?

Just really anxious to get a look that all is going ok

Frizbetheexpansionset · 16/01/2006 11:56

M&MB go girl

Cadmum, I wonder if thats a record for distance travelled to get to ante natal care Good luck with finding someone closer sooner.

SK hope your on your way hon {{{Hugs}}}

so 6 weeks to go here....argh.....have been talking to another mum today, whose dd fell out with her when the new dd was born, she's only just started talking/behaving again this week 2mths later.....really, really hope my dd doesn't take it so badly.......(our dd's are same age....)

So I've been to my lazy postnatal exercise class, am now officially the only preggy person in it, as my other preggie buddy had a boy this morning bang on her due date.

sweetkitty · 16/01/2006 13:14

Absolutely nothing happening here

Nemo1977 · 16/01/2006 13:22

hi all
I am still around just not had to chance to catch up with the potty training in earnest. Although think we have now cracked it and we are in pants full time apart from for bed!!!!

Hannah is doing great she doesnt require a lot which has also helped with the potty training..lol She now weighs 8lb14 so has put on 2lbin the 4 wks since birth. Strange that she is still smaller than adam was when he was born as she seems really chunky compared to the little dolly I gave birth to!!

hope you are all fab

SK hope something happens soon

MAMB good luck with the TTC

Bella are you booked for your scan soon?

Cadmum hope trip back to canada isnt too tireing and the scan goes well. Will be jetting over to NYC for a holiday soon

munz, JARM, friz, rom and anyone else hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hugs to you all and squeeze those bumps n babes from me.

Cadmum · 16/01/2006 13:25

Friz: Sadly, I happen to know for a fact that this is not the record for distance travelled for ante-natal care because I already set that record when I was moving to the UK in 2000 and opted to come all the way back to Alberta to see my own GP...

We just have a very unconventional life-style. (and I am an idiot!)

SK: I hope that today is your day!

Bella: Thanks for bidding me a safe flight. Thankfully, it is only 1 1/2 hours. As far as early scans go, I had one at 7 weeks with this pregnancy and it made me feel much better. With DS1 (following my first late miscarriage) I had one at 6 weeks and 3 days according to their dates and there was a lovely little heart beat so I felt much reassured.

Try not to fret too much over days. They will ask you to come back if they are not 100% happy with their findings. I know only too well that it would be impossible for you not to worry at this stage but do try to take it all one day at a time. Really praying that this beanie is a sticker.

Bella23 · 16/01/2006 13:36

Thanks Cadmum - reassurance is much appreciated. I am trying to take each day at a time, patience not being one of my virtues though is making it a little hard!!

Nemo1977 · 16/01/2006 13:50

bella with early scans anything after 6wks should pick up heartbeat generally. I had a early scan with adam at 7wks and hannahs was at 8wks.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 16/01/2006 17:18

Cadmum, I hope you have a world record cert
