Here you go girls!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Cadmum · 06/01/2006 15:17

I didn't realise that you were going to be acting as our 'rich-aunt'! You do intend to help us pay the dif don't you? Can you imagine having SO much money? I don't think we would be in New York and DH would certainly not be working if we had the money to afford such places!!!

munz · 06/01/2006 15:20

lol, god I wish I could afford these type of places! we can't even afford to rent in the UK on our wages - thankfully if we do rent on civvy street we pay the army rates and they pay the differnce and all the council tax/water for us! i'd kill for the second one thou it looks lush! lol.

will the UN not give u substidy's at all? - or a pay rise for DH lol, or negotiate the price down a bit? - for the larger apt.

Cadmum · 06/01/2006 15:27

We are trying to find out about the subsidy (confusing as there are SO many different kinds of contracts at the UN that nobody is ever certain until the last moment!) He is not going to get a pay rise but we did ask for a reduction in price (yet to hear if it is possible)

It is doable but his contract is only temporary and may only be renewed for a further 3-6 months at the end of March so this is not really the best way to offer a stable home-life to four children.

sweetkitty · 06/01/2006 15:49

hi all just popping in to say hello to you all 39+1 weeks today and this one showing no signs of coming out yet despite my best efforts.

Bella - thats absolutely brilliant news, sending you some virtual baby glue, I had an early miscarriage before I had my first baby and even with her I had 2 bad bleeds and she went on to be fine. Just focus on that magic 12 week mark, best of luck.

Friz - sorry to hear about your Gran

JARM - sorry to hear little Becky's ill, horrible time of year for little babies. Abbie's got a snotty nose too and I have a very snotty sofa as she keeps wiping her nose on it.

Hope everyone else is doing OK and best of luck with the househunting Cadmum.

Nemo1977 · 06/01/2006 18:09

georgeandwigglyjake · 06/01/2006 18:22

BELLA!!!!!
OMG, , I'm so happy for you.
What wonderful news and what a fantastic way to start 2006.
I'm with Nemo on the tear in my eye (these hormones!!)
Sending you so many best wishes. xxx

Hi to everyone else whilst I'm here. I'm trying to catch up but it takes a bit of time with this little treasure taking all my time.
SK, hope it's not too long a wait for you now. (Friz........then it's you!!!)

romilly · 06/01/2006 19:53

BELLA !!! that has to be the most fantastic news to see the new year in with - congratulations to you and d/h - see, i knew you would get there honey, it is sooooooooo wonderful. you must be absolutely thrilled. ask your gp for an early scan, like munz said, i did, and it really reassured me (mine was 6 weeks) as those first weeks (before the fabulous morning sickness kicks in to constantly reassure you that you are preggers!) can seem very long. as friz mentioned, anniversary dates seem to be a thing with us beanie girls - life does indeed work in mysterious ways. look after yourself really well now sweetie xx

SK - good luck to you honey! wishing you speedy pain-free birth vibes!

friz - very sorry to hear about your grandmothers skin cancer - my grandfather had the same, and was operated on and it all turned out fine. make sure she gets a speedy appointment whatever happens.

J&BM and Munzie - thankyou for your reassuring words on the moving. we find out on monday whether our bid was accepted or not, so its all in the hands of the gods now! we had to bid much higher than was probably prudent, but it felt like last chance saloon IYKWIM.

caddy - i feel for you, its hard work this house hunting business isnt it. just when you need to relax too. i have tried to remain fairly emotionally detached in the whole process otherwise you go insane! we have missed out on about 3 places we really wanted now.

DQ and george and nemo - hope daisy, jake and hannah are all doing well.

J&RM - i hope becky makes a quick recovery, poor little mite.

last but by no means least, wendy if you are around - you are very much not forgotten - thinking of you too and wishing you all the best for those january appointments.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 06/01/2006 21:21

Rom, keeping fingers x'd that the bid wins the house for you, really hope it does

Thanks for all your kind words re my gran guys, I've looked into things a little more today, and she has the easiest form to treat, so should be fine and phew!

Cadmum, like the look of the 3 bed aptmet! wouldn't worry about Roaches too much, I certainly never noticed any when I've lived high up! (had a 19th floor flat once) although someone once told me, they're attracted to certain glues that are used in the building of areas, apparently if its a sugarbased/resin glue, your likely to get more roaches?!?!? dunno how true that is?

J&R's mummy, hope R is better very soon now she has her drugs!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 06/01/2006 21:25

thanks for the well wishes girls - had a tiny scare earlier when after 6 hours Becky's nappy was still bone dry, but she seems to be on the mend. (soaking wet nappy at bath time)

poor little thing has got a really swollen eye where the infection has spread, but she is sleeping now, so hopefully her cough wont keep herup too much x

Cadmum · 07/01/2006 04:33

DH rang the estate agent first thing this morning to confirm that we will take the 3 bedroom. He set up an appt for 5:15 pm to sign the paperwork and put down the deposit.

Everything went swimmingly until the Leasing agent mentioned that it would be a tight fit for all of us in a two-bed. Turns out the 3 bed was rented this afternoon because the agent misunderstood what DH had said... ARGH! The truth is that we will certainly be better able to afford it but it will be a tight fit and as I said earlier, it is only on the 5th floor.

Bella23 · 07/01/2006 09:16

Ladies - thanks for all the well wishes.
Yes Rom, will ask for an early scan as can't imagine the panic of waiting for another 8 weeks to see if all is ok !!

First hurdle down........

HOORAH !!

Rom - when is the expected arrival date?
George - arh, you soppy thing, sounds like you are having fun with bubs xx

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/01/2006 09:25

ARGH for you Cadmum, so are you taking the two bed, or still looking? as you did say you were popping over to NJ as well??

Bella still bouncing for you

Hi also to Wendy if your about, wishing you as much luck xx

SK, any signs yet?? (please say no, cause that means I'm next!!)

georgeandwigglyjake · 07/01/2006 14:18

Bella, those early scans are what kept me sane (just about!!) so insist they see you ASAP.
Rom is so right about anniversary dates and the beanie babies.

Good luck on your house Rom, you too Caddy. Glad you are going to be back together with your DH.

Right, DP has gone out to find things to help Jake settle at night (any ideas anyone???) and I'm supposed to be catching up on my sleep so must fly.
Glad you guys can't see the bags under my eyes! Oh well, it's all worth it when the sun comes up & my little lad finally goes off to sleep

yellowbear · 07/01/2006 14:57

Hi Bella,

just wanted to congratulate you on your BFP , what fantastic news!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/01/2006 15:34

George, I found it was best to let dd learn to settle on her own early on, that way you don't have all the sleep training bother when they get a bit older (until you move them into a bed of course, then you start all over again!!) mind you dd has always had her doggy with her (brought for her at birth, it slept with me for a night, then has been with dd ever since) so that worked for us, but obviously not for all!

hereshoping · 07/01/2006 21:02

Bella -what wonderful news to start the new year with -so pleased for you at last.
Hi to everyone else on this thread - been following your pgs, hi cadmum and rom - you must both be soon to pop
my dd2 is beautiful but am finding adjusting to having a baby again and working round the other 3 challenging at present. Such a gift tnough after all those dark days of miscarrying which
we went through together
keeping everything crossed for wendy now

Cadmum · 07/01/2006 23:33

Congratulations hereshoping!!! I am ever so pleased that your dd arrived safely and is a source of happiness. How did everything go? Did I miss your announcement? Must run and find it. What did you name her?

dramaqueen72 · 08/01/2006 00:44

wow! i miss sooomuch!!!
BELLA!! CONGRATS how fabulous for you, have everything tripplecrossed that all stays well. heres to your first of many scans!! its the best news i've had in ages. wonderful.
cadmum, hows it all going? hows that bump? i feel its all going to slot into place for you asap.
rom, how lovely to see our babies names all wrote like that! its been a long road but i'm so glad we all shared it, and heres to very happy endings for all of us. cant wait to add your baby to list of names hug that bump for me.
munz, are you doing nothing at work girl??LOL
george, have you tried -co-sleeping? white noise? driving round the block? (with the baby in the car...lol)one of those heartbeat sound bears? whats the biggest problem? is jake just awake? or crying? or what? often the alert at the wrong time will alter quite abit as the et a few weeks older. all three of my children have been totally different in sleeping patterns, hang in there.
hereshoping nice to keep seeing you about more. tell me about the trials and joys of four...lol, but like you say, staying up all night if need be is no hardship after m/c days and indeed v dark nights.
nemo, on potty trained son!! dd2 is absolutely 100% NOT interested in it. hoping when the suns out in the spring/summer she might be more keen. or maybe she'll be in nappies forever.................
j&rm- hope little one is okay now, bless her.
and a one handed breastfeeding at keyboard hello to everyone else too

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/01/2006 14:09
