hi munz - alls well today. eating green & blacks so feeling happy

yes - how are our december ladies doing?? i know that dqueen has got a birthing pool and is going for the homebirth as she is no longer breech. had a sneaky peak on the dec. thread.

nemo - how are you today?

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 07/12/2005 23:05

Oooh DQ are you going for a home birth! didn't have my usual midwife today, but her stand in suggested that I was a good candidate for home birthing after my quickish labour last time I told her about dd's dodgy hip tho, so she changed her mind, but I still wound up dh when I came home with it, who did the usual freak wouldn't actually mind a homebirth myself, but if another dodgy hip, we'd have to go straight to hospital anyway....(large %tage it will be as genetic on my side of family) although if I'm very quick, I suppose I might be one of those car stories you hear about n ouch.....
Rom, I have cherry Green n Blacks

Nemoinapeartree · 07/12/2005 23:30

evening ladies

not a lot going on here. Went to mothercare today to get crib mattress and ended up getting it for free as silly girl on till didnt scan it..lol Cant believe one week tommorow at this time I will probably have had my baby

anyways more importantly how are you all and what is green and blacks??????????????????????lol

dramaqueen72 · 07/12/2005 23:42

hey i've been eating green and blacks raisin and nut.mmmmmmmmmmmmm. nemo! G&b is very posh chocolate. v nice, quick add it to your hospital bag!!!
yes am all geared up for my home birth,....dh was totally against the idea til we spoke to the midwife alot in the earlier days. now I-we- seriously couldnt imagine anything else. had a dry run with the pool tonight, brilliant, and so easy and quick to put up (thankgod!)cant wait til after birth for my own shower, own bed, peace and quiet (no screaming babies just when yours drops off...nobody arriving from labour ward ten minutes after youve shut your eyes...)and glass of bubbly instead of dodgy cold tea!i have it all planned,...even the bubbly is in the fridge!
glad to hear from you cadmum and rom so glad your Bp is behaving
wendy -lovely to see you drop in on us. all fingers crossed for you.((HUG))
and bella, missed you girl,. great news on your appointment, its going to be a new year new baby for you hun, now you can have on heck of a knees up this christmas before being sensible about drink and diet again after. think of you often. willing BIG FAT POSITIVES for you and wendy ASAP.

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 08/12/2005 07:26

Hi all,
Good to see the G&B choccy is back out again. Rom, does that mean your sickness is finally gone???
I've managed to eat my first box of labour Thorntons chocolates, had to buy another giant box which is sitting winking at me.

Cadmum, am I right in thinking you are moving to be with your DH? If so, how wonderful for you, that must take so much pressure off.

All OK here, baby is fully engaged and pushing down on everything at the moment so willing it out! The raspberry leaf tea is in full flow now.

Lazy day for me, pottering round the house. No more shopping I thnk, I will be bankrupt if I keep going!

Hope everyone else is OK.

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 08/12/2005 19:47

oooh girls so is it a race between you 3 to see who has baby 1st! how exciting!

dramaqueen72 · 08/12/2005 20:44

more a race because we are all hurting and aching so much!!LOL, no, no race, just safe healthy babies for us all in the next 2/3 weeks

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 08/12/2005 21:13

so who's in the race

dramaqueen
nemo
george

it's so so exciting I'm jealous I have 5 weeks to go feeling fat, sore, achy, acidy the works.

At least you will have your babies for Christmas

Nemoinapeartree · 08/12/2005 21:17

SK it really wont be long for you. I cant believe a week today I should have my baby in my arms Although if todays bh and baby movements are anything to go by it may even be before..lol Being getting strong BH on and off all day and then the baby is flipping out and hyper as anything so who knows..every 20mins dh is asking if I am in labour..lol

FastasleepInAManger · 08/12/2005 21:19

Good luck Nemo! Ooh it's exciting!

Nemoinapeartree · 08/12/2005 21:28

thanks FA how are you doing with you and yours?????????

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 08/12/2005 22:09

I'm not really in the race as I'm not due til the 29th, just ready to give birth now that's all!
Wish I had a pool at home like you DQ, I'd be in it now. Actually might go & have a bath instead.

FastasleepInAManger · 08/12/2005 22:37

Oops just saw the post Nemo! We're fine, very busy, can't do mornings without falling to pieces otherwise would've seen you at SF

Cadmum · 09/12/2005 13:36

Hello everyone.

We officially have medical insurance as of December 1 and our passports are at the US visa office awaiting validation... OMGoodness! I could actually have an American baby...

I just hope the house/school/midwife hunt goes well and then I will not have to return to Ottawa feeling mighty discouraged at the prospect of dealing with 3 children and a newborn on my own...

Glad you are all well. Nemo Go and grab some G&B. You will never look back (I am sad not to have access to it anymore...)

DQ there is nothing more lovely than crawling back into your own bed after having a baby. I would LOVE to have another home birth with this LO.

George Not too much longer to go. I sure know what you mean about the shopping! I NEED to quit! We are going to have to go to the foodback for Christmas if I keep spending at this rate. It sounds silly but I feel as though I need to make up for the last hellish 7 months of isolation with no friends/family or daddy for our little people. Somebody remind me that no amount of gifts is going to change that...

SK Hope you start to feel better soon. Acid reflux is horrible!

Rom Thank goodness your BP is being cooperative. Mine is slightly elevated but FFS whose wouldn't be in my situation. 3 kids full-on; non-stop 24/7 and no adult contact in an average week other than the cashier at Safeway and quick chats on the phone.

Munz Is your little man being more cooperative? I hope to never know the feeling of having this LO in an uncomfy position.

Friz I am also worried about having a baby enroute to the hospital. I didn't believe that I was in labour with DD or DS2 until about 45 minutes before they were born. I can just imagine delivering in a NYC yellow taxi. How tacky! It would be a dream-come-true to be able to have a homebirth. Fully understand about not wanting to take risks with a potentially dodgy hip though.

romilly · 09/12/2005 14:48

caddy - lol @ giving birth in a NYC taxi, think i would rather do it a black london cab, more leg room . So what did your b/p go to? i think just the thought of stopping work in ten days time has stabilized mine

DQ - champagne in the fridge eh? what a brilliant idea, that would be a good carrot at the end of the giving birth stick, lol, maybe they should bring that in on the NHS.

sorry to hear you are all suffering late stage pg. aches and pains - george, yes i am feeling much better, the sickness stopped at about 24 weeks although i still occasionally feel sick still but not actually chucking. could be that i am now eating too much chocolate.

nemo - well done on the freebie! am sure you probably deserved it

munz - caddy and i are now officially joining you in the 3rd trimester, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 09/12/2005 14:59

I've got the champagne in too for this one's birth much nicer than cup of NHS tea.

Hope everyone is doing OK today and the aches and pains aren't too bad!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 09/12/2005 15:17

Oooh champagne, can I have a sneaky glass even if I'm breast feeding or do I have to wait til I start expressing?

Hope all goes well Cadmum, sounds so much more positive for you. Wouldn't it be great if you could have a home birth too.

I can't believe you are all in the 3rd trimester already. Time has just flown by, it was never this quick waiting for AF every month!

Rom, I still get sick in the mornings if I don't eat quickly enough - I've found it a good excuse to keep a packet of chocolate digestives by the bed - purely medicinal you see!!
How is the house hunting going? Any news on a moving date yet?

Right, off to eat something & wrap some pressies.

yingers74 · 09/12/2005 21:23

Hello everyone,

Just quickly popping in to say good luck to all of those due soon. Have been kept busy with my two dds, my mum has given me loads of help but am still tired, respect to all those mums with more than two!!! How do you do it? I tried to follow GF routine like I did with dd1 but realise that it is too inflexible, any tips?

Anyway must dash, I need to do some expressing, I always leave it till late!

Nemoinapeartree · 09/12/2005 21:31

yingers good to hear from you.
Have you looked at the baby whisperer routines. I tried GF with Adam but it didnt work for him where the baby whisperer was like a god send and got him into a reasonable 'routine' well as reasonable as babies get..lol

how is everyone else.

SK did you have a chat with your dh about the conversation last night?

George grr at your dh too...typical blokes dont think of the bigger picture..lol

Well I now have 5 n bit days till induction. Really panicky now, think probably cos am also woried about the depression going as bad as last time etc. Oh well not a lot I can do about it now..lol

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 23:54

hey ladies. its the one who cant sleep here
yingers, nice to hear from you. as a mother of many -LOL- I would say re routines, find your own. each baby is sooooooooo different, none of mine have been the same re routines nor has one thing worked for all of them. its a case of stopping expecting the babies to know the book youre reading -LOL! take it easy and get plenty of rest and help, am sure dd2 will settle into a routine soon.
cadmum, how very exciting to be moving, I know the timing isnt excellent but still! yellow cab birth sounds fabulous!!LOL I hope you get a homebirth again -tho america is the country with the LOWEST rate of homebirths, and have to say all my american friends think I'm NUTS!!!LOL wish you luck with finding out about midwives and doulas and home births. so excited for you and munz and rom to be on 'the home straight'now,. its gone so fast -from MY point of view!!
george, a glass of bubbly wont harm your bfing I promise. three glasses might......LOL
nemo I hate this waiting, I hate hurting soooooo much i am in tears, but blimey! knowing and counting down must be scary too! good luck hun
promise you'll ring/email/post asap!!! and the depression WONT be like last time, as forewarned is forearmed. Youre going to do great. we all are.
rom its great to hear sickness has at least calmed down. i get awful nausea moments now, at the end, with no room for food, baby pressing on something vital etc etc. its no where near as bad as m/s was but atill abit ucky. i am terrible in the mornings; faint, dizzy, spaced out, breathless, feeling sick........HAVE to eat asap.
i am miserable most eveings, with SPd and braxton hicks that DO hurt (even tho they arent meant to) apparently third or more babies often have you in slooooooooooooooooooooow slight labour for days before kicking it off properly and I think that must be whats happening here. its awful to be in pain thats not productive, and GOd dh must be sick of me groaning and moaning. 38wks this weekend, so keen to get him/her here anytime now!!

yingers74 · 10/12/2005 13:39

Tah for advice.

Nemo - Apart from usual chaos associated with being a parent, things are quite good. Am currently making cream cheese and jam sarnies for a kiddies xmas party we are going to which should keep dd1 out of trouble for the afternoon!

drama - not long now!

Have a weekend all

Cadmum · 10/12/2005 19:05

DQ: I know what you mean about American home-birth rate being low. It is sadly true in most of Canada as well where distances are vast and good care is hard to come by. The bigger cities seem to do better though. Oddly enough the midwife that I did contact (who is full for March births as you might expect of any good midwife) recommended several others that DO do home-births in New York so all is not lost. I have 3 to meet and hope that it will all work out. (It would be so FAB as they have flagged my notes here as 'High Risk' based on my miscarriage history but I think that it is all bunk since my labours and deliveries have been 4 hours and 2 pushes... Not really convinced that I could make it to the hospital.

I hope that your labour goes quickly and smoothly and that you have a baby to cuddle under the Christmas tree.

Sorry for the ramble.

Yingers: very nice to hear from you. Be kind to yourself. Having more than one child is really challenging but you will get the hang of it quickly, promise. It all settles down after a few weeks (once you are less exhausted and the LO is more settled). I found the leap from 1 to 2 more challenging than from 2 to 3 so I hope that trend continues in our family. This one will be born knowing that it needs to fit in around the other children's schedules. Heaven knows it is being subjected to lots of noise already!

Hope you are all well.

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 12/12/2005 09:48

Hi all, Rom and Cadmum welcome to the 3rd Tri

Cadmum, lol re the NYC Taxi scenario, sounds good re the midwives tho, homebirth for you then, really hope I'm 4 hrs and 2 pushes! must really remember to do those pelvic floors daily!

DQ hope the pains go for you soon, and baby leaps out in timely fashion!

Nemo only 5 days now, fingers x'd baby decides to come before, so you don't have to bother with induction.

Well hope all are ok, my beanie seems to be starting to do starfish impressions today...... kinda hurting under the ribs tho..

munz · 12/12/2005 09:59

friz - that's what i'm hoping for 4 hrs and 2 pushes! these pelvic floor thingys - how often are u ment to do them/when to start? i've done about 5 sets in all I think.
