@ cadmum going to NYC must be lovely in December

loads of at Nemo getting a newborn baby for Christmas, I'm going to guess a BLUE one!!! (although with 2-1 odds not a very good guess)

Wish it was me 34+3 today and it feels like it is dragging in now, have SPD combined with the sacro-iliac pain, loads of BHs and acid reflux from hell. Still not long now. Have done all my Christmas shopping (smug emoticon) and all the baby shopping apart from the pram so feeling mega organised.

Hope everyone else is doing OK too and having a relaxing weekend!

Nemoinapeartree · 04/12/2005 10:29

morning all

Cadmum we have only been to NYC on holiday but could see it as a fab place to live, plus at least if you are closer to DH you will have that support.

SK dont be jealous yours will be here soon enough and anyways just think on xmas day I will look like a bag of rubbish from lack of sleep and a hyper 2 yr old..lol

How is everyone????
I am currently sitting in our bedroom with adam watching tv waiting for our new couches to be delivered...am soo excited as this is the last thign to be done before baby!!!!!!!!!

Also wrapped all our xmas presents last night.

romilly · 04/12/2005 15:04

hi nemo honey - hope you are taking it easy sounds like you are very organised. fab to think xmas pressies all wrapped! i really cant believe you only have 2 weeks left to go. that means we have all been talking to each other for over a year now! i am also stuck on names so cant help you there!

cadmum - great to see you again. i am so pleased to hear you now have the option of moving to NY - go for it! it will be fab and you need to be with your d/h. you do have a lot to organise though, hopefully d/h can find you a place and make sure you have someone else do all the packing/removal work.

SKitty - sorry to hear you are suffering with the SPD and acid reflux still. when did you first start getting your BH's??

hi to george, dqueen, (missing you guys! how are you both doing? come and tell us how you are getting on!)

hi munz - got some choccy cake i've been saving a piece for you hun lets get those TP squares up to 9 this week!!

wonder how J&BM, and yingers are getting on. also i hope that wendy and bella will get everything they wish for this christmas - i shall be hoping santa brings a sackful of BFPs to all our ttc friends.

romilly · 04/12/2005 15:05

friz - didnt mean to leave you out! how could i forget you?
hope you are having a lovely weekend and putting your feet up

Cadmum · 04/12/2005 17:56

Rom or Munz (or anyone else that remembers fetal movements at 26 weeksish): Does it ever feel as though your little one is twitching as opposed to kicking? I don't remember having ever felt this before with my other 3 but I have had it off and on for the last few days. I am actually starting to worry that it almost feels like fits...

romilly · 04/12/2005 18:07

cadmum, i remember one night i had movements that seemed far quicker than the usual kicking (not sure if this is what you mean by twitching) - but i didnt worry too much about it. to be honest i find any kind of fetal movement more reassuring than anything else, and i honestly doubt it is anything for you to worry about. oh, how we love to worry though! why not call your midwife/doctor and ask them about it over the phone if it will put your mind at rest. i am sure it is perfectly normal though hun.

Cadmum · 04/12/2005 18:31

I think I will likely call the High Risk Unit tomorrow and talk to the nurse who ususally sees me... I have been worried for a few days and with my current stress level I could use one less thing to worry about. The movements are really rapid and last for a few seconds and then they usually come in a series of 2 or 3. I will make a point of recording them on a chart so that I sound less vague when I speak to someone tomorrow.

I am sure that you are right about me just looking for something to worry about! I certainly don't have anything else on my mind... MUCH!

Thanks for your quick reply. It is so nice to know that you are all still out there! Hope you are enjoying a relaxing week-end.

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 04/12/2005 19:55

Don't worry about it Rom I don't take offence at small things like that!

Cadmum, does it feel like baby burps? as I get a feeling like that out of bump sometimes, think its the drinking reflex thing?

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 04/12/2005 19:55

oh Nemo, how's the couches?

munz · 04/12/2005 20:16

caddy - tbh i'm only 27 weeks now and having kicks mainly not noticing him moving - but u know what this HORRID little boy has done to me????????? right on my apprendix scar - right across it - the little minx has created 3 bloody strechmarks - not one but 3 i'm gonna look like a tiger

lol

glad u're doing OK cads.

Cadmum · 04/12/2005 21:33

Not sure about baby burps... Thanks for the suggestion though~ Don't recall having ever had this experience with DSs or DD...

Munzie: Sorry about the stretch marks~ I am quite convinced that if I keep growing at this rate (too much food and zero exercise!) that I will end up with some this time too. So far I have none but I always hesitate to say that because it seems so unfair when other friends have only one (or two) children and are covered in 'mummy marks'. I have one girlfriend who insists that she is proud of here and her advice is: Wear them like a trophy!

(DH is covered in them from his first weeks in the army. He was doing lots of drill his thighs were dreamy as a result but his skin was unprepared for the sudden growth.)

Nemoinapeartree · 04/12/2005 22:37

hi all
cadmum i had exactly the same this time and its almost like they are having a seizure in your tum. I had it a lot from 24-33wks then it has stopped and baby just does normal shifting around. Personally think fact I was very stressed at that time which wasnt helping.

Munz sorry for cutting convo short this morning

Rom hope you are ok. The names issue is getting to me now but dh is too laid back about it..lol

SK hope you are ok, BH are a killer second time around!!!!!!!!!

also thinking of wendy and bella...lots of love to you both and have wrote to santa for you.

Well my lovely couches are here!!!!!!!!! they are comfy and fab. Although being an impatient pg woman I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder moving them around. The delivery blokes left them in a rubbish place and they were soaking so I took it upon myself to unwrap and move them as dh was in work till 4.30pm..lol Well worth the pain though. Baby is due in 11 days and am getting my crib back on tuesday so finally feeling close to being ready. Just need to recheck and fully pack hospital bag and I think that will be it. Oh and order a food shop for day before I go in.

munz · 04/12/2005 22:38

nemo u get back on that sofa and u sit down. no more moving about/moving them about. that's what DH is for.

come on feet up cup of tea.

don't worry about this morning.

Cadmum · 04/12/2005 22:44

Nemo: Thanks for the reassurance. Part of the reason that I was so worried about the strange twitching movements is because a friends told me about the link between stress and fits in utero when I mentioned them to her yesterday. (Just what a stress-case needs to hear, right?)

I wonder if it is related to stress? I have spent the afternoon trying not to shout at DD who is driving me slowly insane. DS1 is poorly and glued to the sofa and she is bored. DS2 seems to be following in DS1's footsteps as he had a big nap this afternoon and is really clingy. I NEED A BREAK!!! How am I ever going to manage to get this house sorted for the packers?

Glad your couches arrived. Shame on you for moving them yourself. It sounds like the kind of thing that only I would do... Hope your shoulder is still not giving you trouble next week as you will need all the sleep you can get.

dramaqueen72 · 04/12/2005 23:17

hey ladies
cadmum, if tis any help i actually started a thread on those movements........they freaked me out big time. and they are 'perfectly normal' and quite usual. and no, they DONT mean fits or similar..(shame on your friend for even suggesting that!! like pg ladies dont worry enough!) like nemo, mine did it alot then stopped at 30something weeks.
so how is everyone, made an attempt to read and got abit lost, so am trying again.
rom,....gosh you george and i come along way! since we started talking on mn- and nemo......well and all of you!!! I used to get you (rom) and george totally muddled up but have it in head now, you are dolly parton alike ()and george i have now met and has brown hair so now muddling up....
hows yingers getting on btw? anyone know?
and bella? wendy?
need one of you to give me run down on everything please in five sentences or there abouts.....lol
i am doing fine, 37wks today, baby as low as any baby ever goes....last scan tomorrow to give (or not) my go ahead for homebirth. i say i'm fine but frankly this stage hurts so darn much i am falling apart. but hanging in there.not long now. measuring two weeks ahead which is abit scary!!!! exciting stuff!
wishing you ladies well anyhow.
DQ..x

romilly · 05/12/2005 12:58

hi DQ - am SO EXCITED FOR YOU! sorry for shouting but this is really exciting now... so its you first, then nemo then george i reckon! lol @ you visualizing me as dizzy dolly parton, that was a joke that unfortunately seems to be sticking ! well can i put the record straight and say i do not wear a wig - or have bright blonde hair and a pair of 40 DD's! (yet!)

cadmum - i looked up in one of my preggie books about fetal movements, and it even mentioned "twitching" type movements as being normal - and friz was right, they are baby hiccups you are probably feeling. apparently some babies are more prone to hiccups than others! so no more worrying on that one.

dramaqueen72 · 05/12/2005 13:05

well rom, I dont know, nemos actually before me. tho i am racing her to the finish LOL
sorry the dolly parton thing was funny, -you said it!!- and yes its stuck...post a picture and maybe I'll change my mind

had my scan today and baby is head down.we are 'all go' for our homebirth!!!
dh has just said i want a homebirth so I can stay online as much as poss..................lol

Cadmum · 05/12/2005 13:13

Thanks DQ and Rom!

I so know when the baby has hiccups it is this twitching thing that is going to send me to the asylum... I am sure that you are all correct and that it is nothing to worry about . I am off to hunt for DQ's thread.

I am trying to figure out what the heck we should do for the children's Christmas pressies. For the most part, I need to order them online and just have them sent straight to New York (which I have started doing) but my PIL are really cranky because we didn't know where we were going to be for Christmas until the last week and they have sent theirs along to this address. Hope they get here before the 19th but even if they do, I am not sure that I will have room in our luggage...

I don't even know what we will do for a Christmas tree or anything. Late December is a bad time to contemplate a move...
Did I mention that it is snowing and snowing endlessly here? It looks like a proper winter wonderland and since DS1 is poorly, I just get to enjoy the view from our window. Hopefully he will feel well enough to make a snow-man later.

I am so excited about reading some more birth announcements. Can't wait to hear all the news. DQ: Hope your scan goes well.

Cadmum · 05/12/2005 13:15

DQ: I am so pleased for you that baby is head down and the home-birth is a go! Yipppee! Have you had a home-birth before?

romilly · 05/12/2005 14:23

DQ: this was me before i got pregnant

do you like my little festive outfit?

caddy: the book even said "twitching" movements - i promise you! now please stop worrying - go build a snowman!

Bella23 · 05/12/2005 14:39

Hello all.

I have had a quick read and I can?t believe that DQ, George and Nemo are all ready to drop ?.well nearly!
The rest of you ladies just need to hang in there as it won?t be that long now.

Thanks for much for the warm wishes ? unfortunately I don?t think Santa has me on his list this year!

Well have made an appointment for the 12th January to get our babymaking skills looked at. I feel quite calm now that I can see help on the horizon. I feel I have cried all my tears and simply have no more left this year ? DH and I have talked things through a lot and are at the stage where we can make jokes about it.

Not looking forward to the hideous expense in our quest for a baby but am not prepared to go through the slow NHS route ? at this point feels like we are willing to sell the bloody house if that is what was needed!

Anyway I promise I am keeping my chin up ? laughing in the face of adversity as they say!

Just 2 regrets :

That I haven?t been able to join in the fun of the Beanie gang
And
That Wendy hasn?t had an easier time.

Lots of love to you all and will keep checking to see when those babies are being born??

ps.....come on Rom, admit it you really are the english Dolly !
xx

wendy11 · 05/12/2005 17:16

Hello everyone

Bella I was just trying to find you on the conception threads and come over here to find you have posted I am so glad that you have made an appointment and that you are now on the way to baby making even though it can get a bit clinical at times it will be well worth it. I know exactly where you are coming form in regard to the expense of fertility treatments but I have waited long enough on the NHS and just want to get moving again.

I think my Christmas wish list is:
That all my beanie friends have safe deliveries of there precious babies
And that Bella and I are successful in our quests for our much wanted babies in the New Year

I am so glad that everyone here is doing well and it looks as if there will be one or two more beanie babies by Christmas. The orders are starting to come in!!

Take care everyone. xxx
