at nemo too you lucky thing think of some of us that will be so huge trying to cook an christmas dinner, I can't wait for Christmas actually to see DD with her presents. I'm planning on having a sneaky glass of wine too (and have the Gaviscon at the ready)!

George - I actually stood on a very sturdy chair to put the curtain pole up today I went out and bought some roman blinds for the little windows. Might have a go at fitting one this afternoon if DD goes for a nap.

Nemo - we should be decorating our hall as well but just can't face it, it can wait to Spring, the only room we have done so far is DD's, the hall is a horrendous bright yellow colour as well.

munz · 09/11/2005 14:19

dyzzidi · 09/11/2005 17:06

Just trying to catch up but the boss is in today.

i was taken into hospital on Friday as i was seeing flashing lights/high blood pressure/ protein in urine. The did let me go once they got blood test results back and thankfully I have not actually got Pre eclampsia. Saw my consultant on mondya and he wants me to give up work to get more rest!

So now I am finishing on Friday and will only be 33 wks. I'm disappointed i cant stay on longer as I really wanted the time with the baby after she was born. You have to do what they say in these situations though so Friday it is. DH is great and said not to worry about money he has got more than enough savings thank god.

Roll on Friday!!!

I will try to catch up later or tomorrow if I can but am busy with handovers etc.

Hope you are all well

Nemo - Xmas baby it is!

romilly · 09/11/2005 17:22

lol munz @ farts i'll believe you!

Frizbe · 09/11/2005 19:48

Dyzzidi glad your both ok tho, never mind giving up work so soon, lots of time to do that later, your health is more important! just think of all the lovely daytime telly progs you can watch

Nemo, wow you have a date and now I'm jealous as was looking at all the lovely Xmas bibs n things for smaller babies in Boots earlier today!

Munz, deal your lemon cake is lovely!
Warantee yeah righty, about 2 mths outside of it....grrrr......we haven't looked at it again yet, its on dh's to do list, so far today this involves, taking the whole of the garage out, tidying it, throwing away a van and a half load of rubbish and putting it all back again, so tomorrow he can move half the rubbish in dd's room to be, into there!! (hurrah we're on the move!) also went out and brought paint with dd, a loverly shade of PINK and another shade of BLUE, as she want's both colours!! women eh!

So on that note, George you may be right, maybe we are doing a spot of nesting!! better now than at Xmas tho me thinks!

Oh crikey have just realised I missed my midwifes apptmt today, (24 wks) do you think she'll kill me..... too busy helping dh to tidy to remember, doh!

george32 · 10/11/2005 09:21

Hi everyone,
SK, Surely you have the perfect excuse not to be the one cooking Christmas dinner this year? I guess I'm lucky as DP always does Sunday roasts / Christmas dinner type meals as I'm veggie and would probably crucify the meat!

LOL at you missing your appointment Friz I'm sure they must get lots of forgetful preggie ladies not turning up.

Dyz, being at home is wonderful, I fully recommend it to everyone. It's nice having the time to get things ready & chill for a while before D day. When are you due as I'm 33 weeks today so you must be really close to me.
Better to be safely at home than stuggling on with work.

Rom, any news on your sickie days yet? Hope you aren't still being physically sick - surely there will be nothing left of you!

Munz, apparently expressing is the key to alcohol consumption. It's all in the timing (so I'm told!) I'll try to remember to pass on any tips about how to have a drink, once this little one is out!
Our Dec lady is going to be induced next Tuesday if nothing has happened naturally by then. I think it has thrown everyone into a nesting / decorating / preparing frenzy!

I'm actually putting funiture up in the nursery today. Look gorgeous with the new carpet in, might move in there myself (esp if DP keeps snoring!)

Cadmum, come back, you've missed cakes & allsorts over here...........

sweetkitty · 10/11/2005 09:47

George - lucky you if it were up to my DP Christmas dinner would be a ready meal unless the chinese was open! It will only be the 3 (4) of us though so not too bad.

Munz - I BF DD for a year and had a few nights out as well. It was easier for me as she slept 8-8am after a few months so I would feed her at 8pm put her down then I could have a few drinks as it would be out of my system by the time she had her morning feed. Also had a few sneaky glasses of wine when she was really little. You will find that 2 glasses will get you merry (if your like me) and 3 will give you a hangover.

Dyz - enjoy your time at home, much nicer than working.

I feel so bad this baby isn't having a nursery as she will be in with us for the first year and then I'll decide whether to put her in with DD1 or give her the spare room. Feel like I should be nesting as well.

dyzzidi · 10/11/2005 09:58

George I am due at the very end of Dec or Early Jan the can't be exactly sure apparently. My consultant has said due to past problems it could be any time now for baby so he hopes I am ready!

FGS does he really think i will ever be ready. nursery is painted just got to put the cot together and put curtains up. Well DH has when he comes home. I am quite looking forward to time off work i am going to chill out finally.

munz · 10/11/2005 10:28

sweetkitty - i wouldnt worry about not having a nursery, the babe will love being in your room anyway i may be the same if we havent moved by feb!

dyzz - how exciting that it could be any day now dont think anyone ever feels truly ready do they?

romilly · 10/11/2005 16:26

yes where has cadmum got to?

romilly · 10/11/2005 16:30

me again (!) sorry, im like a bus

can i ask a quick thicko preg-brained blonde question?!

for the glucose test that you do at the midwife's 26 week appt. i was given a specimen tube to pee in but i forgot to ask do i have to pee in it before i get to the appointment (i assume so otherwise why would they have given me the bottle?) i know i am meant to down the lucozade an hour before getting there but she didnt mention when i was meant to give the sample.

george32 · 10/11/2005 18:57

Sorry Rom, I'm not sure. Mine was done at the hospital and they took one blood test before the glucose & 1 2 hours after the glucose. Think you might have to phone them to check on yours (why do they assume you know what to do with these things???)

Absolutely knackered after putting things together in the nursery. Not even half way through yet but had to have a sleep - what a lightweight am I!!! SK, please come to mine & help me nest, I'm wearing myself out insteadd of resting.

No wonder your consultant is telling you to finish work Dyz - any time now??? How exciting, it could be you next

Happy anniversary Nemo. I'm glad your DH remembered & you have every right to forget - preggie brain, excuse for everything!!

I'm so tired I want to order take-away but I can't eat any of them - how much of a pain in the bum is that!!

munz · 10/11/2005 19:02

Hope all are well, you all seem it at the mo, which is good news!

dyzzidi · 11/11/2005 08:40

MY last day of work today I have been here for 9 years!! I don't really know how I feel I thought I would be happier but then it really feels like venturing out into the unknown and facing up to the fact that a baby is actually on its way.

I've sorted out my days for coming back monday Tuesdays and Thursdayss starting in about June time.

God I hope I make it through the day without Crying that would be embarassing.

Hope to talk to you girls later not doing much work today of course.

Anyone heard from Cadmum???

george32 · 11/11/2005 10:00

Dyz, have a good day.
It doesn't matter if you cry, it's a huge change - and a very good one

Frizbe · 11/11/2005 12:24

Wow dizzidi, 9 years, congrats! longest I've managed in one place was 7 years, and that was just for one co, never stayed in same place for more than two years, get itchy feet!
Your entitled to cry if you feel like it, a) blame the hormones, and b) it'll feel really weird for a day or two, but once you have the bubba you can pop back in and show off! Have a good fun last day!
Cadmum, where are you?? I can make you cake if you like??

george32 · 14/11/2005 11:34

Oh dear, it's so quiet here.
Where are all the lovely beanie ladies?
Hope everyone is well.
Any news of Cadmum yet?

It seems to be that part of my p/g where my body starts objecting & falling apart. Lots of cracks & aches & pains however I position myself. Only happy in the bath at the moment! Off to have some medicinal choccy to make me better.

Frizbe · 14/11/2005 16:53

I'm here!

Not much happening tho, have midwife coming to see me this week, after me missing her last week, bless her, she is a lovely one this time round! (she's part time wonder if that's why?)

Munz hasn't heard from Cadmum, so I'll try cat'ing her later on too, hope all is ok...

munz · 14/11/2005 16:56

just a quick one from me again - promise i'll catch up! lol.

not much chage here, MW apt tomorrow, now over 24 weeks - woooohooo! officially viable! lol. boobies r staring to leak

as friz says no word from caddy will mail her again tomorrow. hopefully she's relaxing with DH/moving to NY with him.

sweetkitty · 14/11/2005 17:07

dyz - hope you made it through the day OK I kind of felt like that when I left work felt so surreal but once the baby was here I didn't even really think about work so much so that I decide to become a SAHM for a while. You'll fall so in love with the baby and your maternity leave will fly past. You've done well with the hours in June too.

Hope everyone else is doing OK

Munz - congrats getting to 24 weeks seems like a milestone, then it's 28, 32, 36 and 40 weeks

munz · 14/11/2005 17:42

is for me SK - 22 weeks ago I wasn't sure I wanted to keep trying after a m/c, 20 weeks ago I was full of fear of M/C again, but the last 12 weeks i've relaxed quite a bit - esp afterthe 20 week scan! roll on 6 weeks time for xmas - then only 5 more to go b4 maternity leave - nott hat i'm counting! lol.

Frizbe · 14/11/2005 18:38

wooo hooo, roll on maternity leave for Munz!!
