romilly · 30/10/2005 17:36

there you are wendy! i just wrote to you on the other thread

caddy: well i think he should be accountable to some degree! i mean he is part of the family and you are the one left behind having to cope with it all. please do give it some serious thought, i think you should try to move somewhere (as others have said) where you will be happier. what is the point of being cut-off if you aren't even near your d/h's work? also you are allowed to be hormonal sweetie - you are preggers. i have nowhere near as much as you have on my plate and i am very capable of being hormonal and i make no apologies to anyone for it!

romilly · 30/10/2005 17:38

J&BM and Yingers - i meant to say, your little bubbas are a very good advertisement to the rest of us - love the sound of them sleeping until nearly 7am

george32 · 31/10/2005 14:50

Hi everyone, sorry I've been away for so long again.
Manically busy with shopping, more shopping, a bit more shopping and to finish off with, me collapsing in knackered heap after wearing myself out shopping!

Haven't caught up properly but I did notice that you have been having a crap time Cadmum & your DH is going to be away for longer. You poor thing it must be so hard especially after all the stress you have already had this year. I do hope you can get something sorted out so you don't feel so alone. {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

Yingers & J&RM, you lucky things with your lovely sleeping babies. I hope you are both doing OK.

Off to do some painting now - grrr, I hate nesting!!

romilly · 31/10/2005 14:56

hi george - did you spend your harrods voucher? where did you do most of your baby shopping? any tips for someone who hasnt started yet

caddy - feeling any better today? did you have a chance to speak to d/h?

george32 · 31/10/2005 15:24

Hi Rom,
We went to a big mothercare armed with a huge list (based on what they tell you you need on the back of the mothercare catalogue) and bought pretty much everything there & a few bits from Babies R Us. Just got a few bits to go now & it feels so much better knowing we have most things.
Only advice is make sure you do a list, including brand and product name of things, as otherwise you will be so confused. I think DP was actally impressed for once!!

Not been down to Harrods yet. Going in a couple of weeks so that should be good - still think I might blow the lot in the food hall!!

Have you managed to find a house yet Rom?

Frizbe · 31/10/2005 20:50

Phew Hi all, a lot to catch up on!

Firstly Cadmum {{{{{Huge Hugs}}}}} what a horrible situation, I agree with everyone, give moving some serious thought to be nearer at least some friends/family to make life easier on yourself, (could you get a nice young male au pair in?? )

SK and Nemo, did you have to set me off re the creame eggs, I'm going to be a right bloater once this baby is born!! good time of year for the eggs tho!

J&BM and Yingers glad you little un's are doing well, fingers x'd we all have good sleepers on this thread!

Well dd doesn't appear to have pox at the moment, although still waiting to see if it appears at some point this week or not.....we had a good halloween party for her on Sat and are now sat amongst piles of new toys! so time to sort the old ones and bung a few in the loft, dh should be sorting her new room out next week, so we'll have some space to move her into! then I can get on with digging all the baby stuff back out!

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 31/10/2005 21:15

my good sleeper had an OK night last night.... not as good as previous ones, but a lot of it was down to Jessica waking every hour becasue she is teething - bloody child!

Rebecca has been awake A LOT today, so praying for a decent night, she is sleeping at the moment, but will be due a feed shortly, so will wake her.... i know i know, should never wake a sleeping baby, but she tested positive for group b strep infection so need to keep her feeding well to make sure she doesnt become symptomatic.... could lead to all sorts of problems.

Registering her birth tomorrow morning so she will be official! HOORAH!

This time last week..... i was screaming for my epidural..... and it didnt work! 3 hours time Rebecca will be officially one week old - where has that week gone?!

Frizbe · 31/10/2005 21:33

Bloomin ell a week already my life is going way to fast!

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 31/10/2005 21:34

i know what you mean friz - only 1 week left of DH at home.... AGGGGHHHHHHH - HELP!

Nemo666 · 31/10/2005 21:54

a week already...wow time is going way to quickly for me does anyone want to press the pause button.

Friz glad your dd enjoyed herself, i know about the mountain of toys as i did the same just before and after adams bday..although i sold a lot as we dont have room to store them..lol

george congrates on all the shopping, i am semi glad we have most of the stuff still from adam.

adam being demon child who i could really give away at the moment but have already moaned about it on dec thread so wont bring the whine over here too..lol

dyzzidi · 01/11/2005 13:30

I think DH is getting a bit jittery now. I have just had an email from him regarding contact number for Taiwan. He already has an English mobile and a Dutch mobile but I have now been armed with three numbers in Taiwan, His Office, His apartment and his work Site.

The cheeky git has even wrote me instructions on speaking slowly and calmly to whoever answers the phone. I am sat here PMSL does he think I am going to shriek at the top of my voice to complete strangers that I am in labour

Frizbe · 01/11/2005 14:01

Lol at your dh Dizzydi! bless him, do I take it he won't be back in time for the birth then

Nemo how old is Adam? hate it when you get those days, I usually try and kick dd into the garden to burn off her energy/anger/whatever it is! or try to take her out to somewhere she can play and not drive me up the wall!

dyzzidi · 01/11/2005 14:12

We are hoping he will be here for the birth he will be back in the UK on November 19th and then only in Holland until Christmas (available to fly back anytime). I think he just got a panicky when he couldn't reach me on my mobile last night (bad Reception) and thought I was in the hospital he even rang my sister to find out where I was.

Frizbe · 01/11/2005 14:17

awwwwww nice to see he's really worrying about you both

dyzzidi · 01/11/2005 14:24

The man is sweet but infuriating at times. He has just told me he was getting me and the baby a present off ebay. When I quizzed him what it was you will never guess his answer....

A new CD player for the car????????????????

THe one I have works perfectly but he feels we (as in baby and I) need a more up to date one. The one I have is only two years old. Idiot Idiot Idiot.

And then when I tell him he is an idiot apparently i am being 'all hormonal'

romilly · 01/11/2005 14:50

hi girls. george - impressed you made lists - i must start thinking about that. is mothercare better than peter jones for things like cots? i am in london so i have loads of choice but dont know where to begin!

went for my 2nd midwife appt. this a.m. bit disappointed because this midwife was quite perfunctory, didnt even get the doppler out so i could have a listen (even though i asked her if we could - she said no we dont do that until 26 weeks ). also didnt even weigh me. next appt. isnt until 26 weeks. seems ages off.

how is caddy? munz? DQ?

friz - glad dd doesnt have pox after all.

george32 · 01/11/2005 15:19

LOL at your DH Dyz A CD player & not even for indoors!! Is that for when you are taking the baby out on really long drives to get it off to sleep???
I'm glad he will be close by for the birth though.

Rom, I got furniture from John Lewis. Really quick del of about a week!!!
Everything else is from Mothercare but whatever you do, make sure you take a list!!!

I was expecting more from mw appointments. I guess because I think having a baby is such a big thing that I expect them to be checking me for all sorts. I get my blood pressure taken, my wee checked, my bump measured, a quick blast off the dopper & packed off for another 3 weeks.
Never really have anything to ask her either! Maybe it's just not as complicated as I expected!

Nemo666 · 01/11/2005 17:03

dyzz pmsl at your dh..mine did things like that when i was pg with adam. Came home one day with a tv because he thought we would need it..errr no thanks

friz he was 2 a couple of weeks ago, funnily enough has been a angel child today maybe because he was with pil in this morning so was able to have their full attention.

rom mw appointments are a bit boring...especially when they are every 2 wks..sigh..lol Even worse when the mw forgets everything about you despite having been my mw for last 3 pregnancies..pmsl Funnily enough she always remebers dh and adam though?????????

romilly · 02/11/2005 14:07

i am feeling yuuuuuuckkkkk today. was sick again last night at least it is only every few days now as opposed to every day, but i feel gross today. i have decided i am coming off the wretched iron tablets, the midwife said my level (which is now up to 11) was okay. DQ - do you take iron?

nemo - yes the midwife seemed quite bored to me! i guess it must get very repetitive for them.

george - think i will go to john lewis, i was thinking of doing it all there if poss. hopefully in one go . probably being very naive. TP tuesday today - are you still on the 8 sheets?

i measured and am...8 sheets exactly

JessicaandRebeccasmummy · 02/11/2005 14:17

Rom - about the iron hun, with a level of 11 you are doing well, if you still want to keep your iron intake up, try Spatone. Its a liquid iron that you add to fruit juice (cant taste it that way) and is a lot better absorbed than iron tablets - and you dont get the dreaded constipation!

CAT me if you want as i still have some left from my pregnancy and ill send it on!

ninah · 02/11/2005 14:39

oh CONGRATULATIONS JandR's mum! !!!!!!!

romilly · 02/11/2005 14:52

thanks J&R'sM that is really sweet of you - but actually i bought a big box of spatone a few weeks ago, only to be told by my GP that i may as well bin it as it wasnt going to be strong enough for me. i was a bit put out at the time, but i think my iron levels are much better now so maybe i should try it again. i actually saw an article in a newspaper recently that linked taking iron supps in pregnancy with behavioural problems in toddlers (yet another bloody scare story) so now i am even less keen on taking them.

george32 · 02/11/2005 15:04

Rom, it's Wednesday today!!
Measured yesterday & I've gone up to 9 squares - finally!!

I loved doing my shopping in 1 go. Really makes you feel like you have achieved something. Helps if DP / DH pays too

Feeling bluergh today so just off down the road for nice comfort food then back to bed for me I think.

romilly · 02/11/2005 15:15

george - duh! so it is! oh well i'm only one day out, lol.... i also keep thinking its december for some strange reason. congrats on the 9 sheets have you got your names sorted yet george?

munz · 02/11/2005 15:37
