Calm, down, hon.....breathe.....right that's ages away, you will have had your bubba by then I promise, have you had any more signs?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 23/10/2005 21:11

nope - nothing - not a sausage!

Although i didnt want to, i might have to go and buy some more raspberry leaf tea and fresh pineapple at this rate!

aw, I'm sorry J&BM. I suggest you go for a walk, somewhere totally rural -I was walking, with my head down and a grim determined look on my face, thro the new forest just before labour with dd2!!- and use gravity to shift things along. poor ol you, bless that bump of yours for being so comfy the beanie is quite quite happy.....
raspberry tea is good for you and your uterus so drinking more of that cant hurt at all.
do you think you can eat something with aubergine in? aubergines have been linked with helping labour. On the american site i go to, there is much conversation about a restaurant that serves an aubergine dish that 'infamous' for overdue pg ladies. It apparently sets so many off they make you sign a guest book and inform them of when labour starts so they can send gifts! and hey, its a healthy vegetable so cant do any harm trying it? take it easy

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 24/10/2005 09:21

Thanks DQ!

Well MW has phoned this morning, clinic is full on friday, so she's booked me in for Thursday!!! Yay!

One less day to wait to get my induction date!!

Doubt anything will happen before then.... this baby has obviously decided the weather is too crap to come out!

Hi everyone,
J&BM, sorry you've had no progress over the weekend. At least the end is in sight now even if it means waiting until the induction date (which I'm sure you won't have to!)
Oooh, Cadmum, more baking & I missed it . I think I might make a lemon drizzle cake today.(still hankering after your lemon loaf recipe!!)
Sorry Friz, but at least I've not mentioned the do-nuts for a while!

My little one has been climbing this morning. I've had all sorts poking out of my tummy as if it is mountaineering - not sure where it is heading for though
I think my rib pain my be from wiggly babys head. How can that be comfy for it? I've given it a stern talking to so I expect a big turn sometime this week

Frizbe · 24/10/2005 10:30

Lol George, its ok, I still have some do-nuts left from Sat night! even I can't eat a whole packet in one go
J&BM oooooohhhhh its sooo annoying when you go over isn't it! don't worry hun, you had lots of practice things the other week, things will happen very soon, your just getting the calm before the storm! keep an eye on your complexion, loads of people informed me last time, that I took on a strange look the day before I went into labour? personally I didn't notice anything, but there you go!
DQ I never realised aubergines could do that!

twoplusbump · 24/10/2005 10:32

morning to all, is it possible for me to join your group. ive just found out im expecting, and feeling very vunrable!!
i was on fertility treatment for my second daughter, and we tried for 18 months for this baby, i just went to my consultant in september, who put me on clomid. i was about to start it last week, and was told to do a pregnancy test to rule it out as i hadnt had a withdrawel bleed, turns out i was PREGNANT!!! still very much in shock, i thought that kind of thing only happened to other people!!

george32 · 24/10/2005 10:39

Congratulations to you twoplusbump
It's all the lovely baked goodies that have brought you here isn't it!!

Friz, , do-nuts left??? You are obviously not trying!

twoplusbump · 24/10/2005 10:41

thank you!
does anyone know about caffine intake?
i read somewhere that you should cut back on caffine, during prgnancy, what does anyone think a safe amount is.....i need my coffee!!

george32 · 24/10/2005 10:46

I cut out caffeine completely to start with as I wasn't taking any risks with this little one. I actually went off tea & coffee (both made me sick) so wasn't too hard in the end.
Back on tea now (oh, how I've missed it!) but a maximum of 3 cups a day.
Obviously caffeine in chocolate doesn't count!

twoplusbump · 24/10/2005 10:52

with dd2 coffee and tea made me very very sick! but not this time, or not yet anyway!!!
is it really silly that im worried that i havent got morning sickness!! was really bad from 6 weeks with both my girls, but nothing so far, i no that i will probably be fine, but cant help feeling worried, will probably be kicking myself in next few weeks when it sets in!!

Frizbe · 24/10/2005 10:57

Hi twoplusbump and congrats!
Yep think the caffine thing is supposed to be 3 per day, Munz did look it up for us all at one point! as I cut it out totally the 1st time round, although this time, I've cut if out for 1st 3 mths, but I've had to go back to 3 cups a day to stay awake enough and sane!
George Your right must try harder to eat more do-nuts!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 24/10/2005 11:05

well ive been scoffing my cakes i made on saturday night already this morning.... naughty naughty me!

Dad has just gone home but will be bck on Thursday to watch Jess while i go to hospital, and DH is at work..... Jess is in her cot but not asleep.... GRRRRR......

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 24/10/2005 11:15

many congrats twoplusbump! I don't drink coffee at all and only have one cup of tea a day plus one can of pepsi max (which I limit myself too) have loads of chocolate though but that doesn't count as it is a bean and therefore healthy .

Had outlaws over yesterday so didn't get any time on mumsnet, MIL drove me insane as always taking photos of me unawares and when I said "oh the midwife says I'm an ideal candidate for a homebirth" she loudly announced "your not having one of them" to which I said "yes I am if I'm lucky enough to" she then asked me if I would have a midwife there!!!! erm no I thought DP and DD could deliver the baby between them.

Anyway enough of a rant. Got to take DD for her MMR this afternoon

romilly · 24/10/2005 13:01

welcome twoplusbump and congrats too i am another one who went cold turkey on the coffee - and that was HARD for me, as i would drink bucketloads of lattes before that. i stayed off completely for 3 months and now just have a very occasional decaff. i read a lot of bad reports on coffee and miscarriage so was not prepared to risk it. as for your morning sickness (i am an expert on this one now! still managing to puke at 20+ weeks ) mine kicked in at about week 6 and then got more forceful by 8/9 onwards...

DQ - can we see the scan???? i didnt make it to the babyshow - was viewing houses all weekend for our move. sounds like i didnt miss too much.

J&BM - glad your appt. is now thurs. good luck hon!

george - hope your wiggly babe gives the mountaineering a break today!

caddy - thinking of you for scan 2moro

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 24/10/2005 13:19

someone tell me to step AWAY from the cakes (6 so far this morning now!)

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 24/10/2005 13:45

ditto me J&BM, made some cranberry and raisin scones and just cant stop eating them!
you need the engery for labour BTW, it uses up shedloads of calories. you eat cake girl! I however have some way to go yet........

munz · 24/10/2005 13:52

afternoon all,

nemo - how are u doing now hon? hope that man came and sorted out the money etc. think our stuff all took a good 3 months to sort out in the first stages so please try not to worry to much. (althou worry if it starts dragging on and on)

JM&B - now then slowly step away from the cakes - or I shall have to ring ur M/W and tell ehr to leave u another week b4 seeing u! lol

rom - u're still being sick now? is it at least improving?

T+B congrats honney, yep I think it's 3 cups - there was an article on it in one of my mags over the w/e i'll have a look at let u know later on.

george - don't worry choccy's not included - according to that choccy's actually good for a baby as it keeps mum smiling and if mum's smiling then baby's happy - werid how they work these things out! (still work's for me and is a fab excuse to eat more choccy!) talkin of which rom - we've not shared a bar in ages - facy a square? lol. did u do ur lemon cake in the end?

friz - donuts? - urghhh! - hmm r they choccy donuts? with sprinkles/ringed ones? - I like ringed ones of choccy duffnuts! lol. not jam thou.

DQ - glad u enjoyed the show, only names we have (strong contenders so far) would be bradley, joesph, joel, (quite like isaac gotta ask DH about hat thou) i've taken to leaving names on a pad by the comp for him to view when he's ready.

hope everyone's doing ok. any more cakes on offer today? - OMG I have sucha a sweet tooth rigiht now - I got tesco.com delivered on friday night (8.30 pm) with 30 mini cadbury bars for trick or treaters - we have loads - there's ahem about 5 bars left yes all me! lol. so ashamed! oh well still 5 to go!

munz · 24/10/2005 13:55

looks like we'll need a new thread soon.

romilly · 24/10/2005 14:29

there you go J&BM - DQ reckons you have a license to eat! tuck in!

munzie - i am sooooo excited (and nervous) about my scan on thursday morning. i have literally been counting down the days... and yes, i am still occasionally throwing up but it is a lot better, no question. i do feel sick most of the day still. i partly put it down to the latest iron supps i have been put on - ferrous fumarate - think they dont help.

munz · 24/10/2005 14:30

oooooh yay thurs I was the same counting the sleeps! it will soon be here - r u finding out?

Frizbe · 24/10/2005 15:17

Munz, Jam hon, would have liked apple but none in stock!
J&BM you eat girl, like DQ says stock up!!
Sweetkitty pah at MIL!

Well I had to go to get dd's birthday prezzie for next week today so we now have a Fisherprice thing that is kitchen one side and grocery store the other on sale in Toys r Us for £29.99 if anyone wants one, had originally gone into get the little tykes kitchen, but as they'd down priced it by £20 and put it in a newspaper pullout yesterday they'd all gone......
So whilst out I popped into mothercare and treated myself to another pair of fat trousers!! pity I'm not working anywhere I have to get dressed up at the mo, as they have some really nice stuff in.

george32 · 24/10/2005 15:47

Good luck for Thursday Rom, how exciting for you and will make a change from being sick Must be a girl for you with you still being ill.
