oh no munz what a bummer

dramaqueen72 · 06/10/2005 19:30

LOL rom, not really neglecting you, just sometimes feeling abit behind and never getting the chance to catch up more than a quick read. been abit crazy at home, pg hormones are NOT fun trust me, esp at this stage.
wanted to reassure you re movement, even with this being my 4th baby movement was not until 18wks. and it feels like bubbles, weird kinda 'was it wasnt it' feelings, which become more and more obvious. so dont worry, whenever you feel it before about 22wks is fine and quite normal. also with dd2 my placenta was across the front buffering the kicks for ages too...ask at you next scan -where is my planceta?- and see if its also been partof the holdup feelingswise. I am soooooooo proud and protective of you m/c ladies getting to 18wks ro thereabouts, blimey, its gone so fast (from her anyhow)
yeh george, tell me about it, the countdown to this baby took forever to get going........and now its running away with me. I get abit tense to say the least..we are not organised for it yet.
cadmum, do take care, hate slipping or falling, its horrible and shakes you up. funny how you do it ten times aday as a kid and not blink, but as an adult -eek! glad this bean is moving and reassuring you. bet its seeming more real now. how exciting.
j&Bm, hang in there, this baby WILL come out, just you know, letting you know it cant be hurried!! (quite prob male then)
munz, really sorry about your dhs promotion. hope he gets a 'good reason' (or one he can fix, iyswim)and can go for it again soon? hug your bump and dont think about the unfairness of the forces okay?
friz and yingers hug to you guys too.
have i caught up now??

Frizbe · 06/10/2005 20:10

Oh Munz
Roll on next week george!

munz · 06/10/2005 20:17

spoke to DH and his mate - def not having me on he's def not got it.

i'm so depressed about it all now.

Frizbe · 06/10/2005 20:30

Oh Hun that's pants, does he have any reasons why?

Cadmum · 06/10/2005 23:43

Munz: I am so sorry. You must be gutted.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 07/10/2005 09:19

MUNZ - How you feeling today hun??? Hope you are ok. Was worried about you last night x

OP posts:
munz · 07/10/2005 09:26

i'm fine thanks JM - sorry to worry u, spent most of the night tossing and turning - DH thinks I should tell said wife that she maybe a LCP wife but i'm a mum (doesn't appear she can have children) - althou I don't want to play those games - so he said ok then say u might have £300 more p/m, so does that mena u're gonna pay ur mum back now (she's brought them everything) managed to talk DH into having two bank accounts now- his money will be for bills and we won't touch mine for food/petrol etc per month (so as long as I get about £400/£500 in a job should be fine.) he's also gonna ask his mum if she'll go halfs with us on a cot/dresser set in babies r us, (it's £150 for the set so £75 each which keeps everyone happy - as he's looking at the money - i'm looking at the changer, and his mum's looking at spending v little but getting something big iycwim) so hopefully she'll agree. then it's all piddaly stuff to get so we'll be fine - I just tend to panic too much and worry.

friz - no resons. still in shock he didn't get it - althou I didn't realise JM they need to get another A2 on next CR to keep the rank apparently? - hopefully he'll be on reserve boards - but if he's not there's next year - hopefully!

(gonna catch up now - also last night had some tightening over bottom of tum - any ideas?)

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 07/10/2005 09:29

munz - getting another A2 to keep the rank is crap, they do whats called an MPC course (6 weeks away) and its that the determines keeping the rank.

I will have LOADS of stuff i can send you nearer the time hun, so PLEASE stop panicking..... it will all work out fine in the end, i promise x

OP posts:
munz · 07/10/2005 09:34

no that's what was on the bottom of the signal apparently so DH recons. (MCM div recons that 10-20% won't keep the rank so there might be a change but i'm not holding my breath this time - just don't understand who he didn't get it when they look at experience first and other lads who have been in the army sa year less not been on tours etc/ in command of shift etc got it and he didn't.

(think i'll start a thread to chat on to save clogging this one up)

Frizbe · 07/10/2005 09:36

Glad you ok Munz, although a major bummer on the dosh front....sure everything will turn out fine in the end, stay positive!
Sounds like braxton hicks to me!

munz · 07/10/2005 09:37

BH - already - can't be can it?? this is my first - they came and then went away - was really stressed last night - and didn't eat tea.

Frizbe · 07/10/2005 09:41

Yeah could well be, you don't always notice them, but apparently they're there from the start! I've noticed them more this time round, have to say!

munz · 07/10/2005 09:43

quite odd really!

george32 · 07/10/2005 11:59

Oh Munz, I'm so sorry. What a pain for you both. Your DH must be gutted.

2 long hours at the hospital for me having the GTT test. Now starving hungry so off to raid the kitchen again.

28 week appointment this afternoon. I'm hoping they might measure me or something this time, getting a bit bored with the blood pressure thing

munz · 07/10/2005 13:02

caught up I think!

dq - don't suppose u have any recipes for us? he he.

george - he is really upset about it- but also saying there's next year, fingers crossed, and we'll get by etc and manage and I should stop worrying, at least we have our health and hopefully that of the baby.

Friz - yep's what DH is saying to me - gonna talk to my boss now as looks like i'll have to take him up on his offer of working p/t from home - we'd be looking at 20 hours p/w 3 mornings at home (i'm aiming for) and one in work friday would have to be the work as DH is off then. so gonna see if he'll give me my annual raise as well (pro rata of course) and see what he says/what deal we can reach. would be fab to work from home thou as no child care cost and I could do it when I chose (obviously within reason)

DQ - it seems to be takin forever to get to 20 weeks, does it go quicker after? lol - althou only 10 weeks for u dec girls isn't it? does it feel more like going down hill wiht the count down! lol.

Rom/caddy - happy 18 weeks girls! only another 22 to go! lol.

munz · 07/10/2005 13:03

george - what was that test for? nothing serious is it?

george32 · 07/10/2005 13:30

Glucose tolerence test to check if I have gestational diabetes (it's my mums fault for being diabetic!!). Pretty common I think, just a bit of a boring wait between stabs with a needle!

Your DH sounds lovely Munz, what lovely things to say.

Time is shooting past for me. I need it to slow down so I get chance to do some shopping. Keep thinking I'm massive & then remember that I've only got 12 weeks to go

munz · 07/10/2005 13:35

oh goerge ((hugs))- does she have type 1 or 2? mum has type 2 and got GD when PG with me - have u had the results back yet? hopefully it will be positive.

DH is lovely when he wants to be! lol - on the hole he's a good man thou.

girls, am thinking cot bed, for this baby but honestly whats best cotbed or cot?

george32 · 07/10/2005 13:40

Oh dear, looks like you will have the GTT test too then Munz. No idea what type she has, she still manages to scoff lots of sweet things, just not when it is near her appointments
I'm in big trouble if I do get it, I'm on a sweet things only diet at the moment

munz · 07/10/2005 13:45

lol - u and me both! did u have to tell the m/w ur mum had diabetes?

r u sure our mum's arn't related? - mine's terrible! esp with choccy! lol. apparently food is her one luxury in life! lol.

Nemo666 · 07/10/2005 13:46

cotbed if your tot is anything like Ds. He was in the bed of it by 12mths as he was trying to vault over the side...sigh.

munz · 07/10/2005 13:51

nemo - will u be using it for DB or gettin a fresh one? I was thinking thou £99 is a bargin for the bed if it lasts until 4/5. would obviously get a new matress etc. wouldn't use it for second child as we'd get another cot bed probably if it lasted that long.

Frizbe · 07/10/2005 14:39

George I've gotta have that test as well this time, cause my grandad had it...I wasn't tested for it with dd tho? durr?

Munz, dd was in a cheap Ikea cot (under £50) for the 1st 22mths, then we just brought her 1st bed, again Ikea total cost £85, for bed, matress and covers, although this wasn't the cheapest in the range! for us this worked, as we need the cot again now for bump

romilly · 07/10/2005 16:23

having given Dqueen a hard time for thread absence i am now having probs keeping up, lol

munz - so sorry about d/h not getting promotion, hopefully next time round. you never fail to impress me with all your sensible questions about cot/nappy/general baby gadgetry choices. i havent got a single thing sorted yet, and feel embarrassed to admit i havent even started thinking about it. i was hoping to do one big shop nearer the time, is this unbelievably naive?

george sorry to hear you are having to have tests. it is boring, i am off to hospital again tomorrow for more blood tests for my low iron problems. i am refusing to take the ferrous sulphate tablets yet, cause they make me even sicker.

well i started off week 18 with a big triple puke first thing this AM, lol - so who said the sickness stops at 14 weeks, hmm? hmmmmm? actually it has been better this week, just not entirely stopped.
