Thought the title might be appropriate for both mums and babies

AF finally here a week late, yay!

Hope the London meetup was fun, sorry to have missed it, DH has a medical checkup for new job this avo. I still managed to drag him to the annual breastfeeding picnic on the common though, will serve him right if we end up in the paper.

Off to pull a domestic goddess and rustle up something from my bare cupboards that DD will eat. Cheese scones I think, too hot to make pancakes. Who needs fruit and veg, eh? (Little girls with poo issues, that's who.)

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/06/2010 17:24

Ladies - you are all too wonderful and generous!!!! Thank so much for the wonderful gifts for the girls and us and for the cheque which will be winging its way into E's bank account (as soon as I open it ) The tambourine and little fish drovemenuts kept P awake the whole way home from the zoo. Which is a blessing as I thought she would sleep the whole way home and then want to party until9pm.

Crispy and the Crispettes were fantastic company as usual. DD1 has a bit of a crush on maxiCrisp and has spoken of nothing but her presents from 'my friends L and E'.

Hope you had a lovely picinic in London today and had the wonderful weather we had.

Hi to everyone else will catch up after monsters have been fed.

MrsMiamla · 24/06/2010 17:28

afternoon all
the visitors and their littlies wore DS out...he's just been woken from a two hour nap and he's currently snuggled next to me trying to go back to sleep!

picnic was lovely, was brill to see pert, albs, miniPert and miniAlbs. I'm astounded at how much food was eaten. I'm pleased though, they obviously liked my offerings

Table manners (or should that be 'picnic blanket' manners!) of visitors put my DS to shame! He only sat down when it was time to eat cake and strawberries (and even then, he sat on the step and not with us!)

No major casualties even after DS threw a drum stick and it landed on miniPert. He did rub her head better after so i'm sure it was an accident

miniPert wins the prize for best joke told... what's brown and sticky? a stick! (her speech is truly amazing!)

miniAlbs wins the prize for best photographer's model (he sat patiently in one place for ages whilst we tried to herd the other two vaguely in the right direction!)

MrsMiamla · 24/06/2010 18:05

just remembered....

we were all sitting in the back room with littlies in the living room. miniPert came out to join us whilst saying 'oh miniAlbs, you must be more careful' whilst miniAlbs could be heard in the background saying 'oh dear' We didn't ever find out what poor little H had been doing and got grassed up about!

Oh and miniPert couldn't quite manage DS's name and called him 'weeodor' instead

pert was like the Pied Piper.. all three of them seemed quite happy following her around! albs and I were threatening to leave her to it and pop to the pub

Right, I'd better go and sort out the bomb site aka my kitchen!

QueenofDreams · 24/06/2010 18:49

Hi all
good to see a nice meetup was had Still have my mum here, but she's leaving on Saturday.
Seb's sleep seems to have gone up the swannee again. He seems to get really hyper before bedtime, and nothing will calm him down. then he won't sleep. mum's been giving her oh-so-helpful opinion that he's not sleeping because he's had too many late nights. Right. And why have those nights been late? Because he won't sleep of course But she's been a big help in other ways so won't complain too much.
Still on tablets for sickness, but still am functional at least so that's still good.
Seb is having a complete explosion of new words (with some help from my mum) unfortunately one of his new words is BUM. repeated loudly and with much satisfaction. He can also say eye, mou(th), no(se) and ear while pointing to the appropiate features
anyway, nned to go put small boy to bed, hope you're all well.

oopsandbabycoconut · 24/06/2010 19:08

QOD - great to see you again, we were wondering how you were getting on.

MrsMiamla · 24/06/2010 19:18

qod i got caught in a similar late night vicious circle with DS. My advice would be to put him to bed at his usual time with books, toys whatever else in his bed/cot to occupy him. It took DS a few nights of being in his room on his own for a couple of hours until he finally fell asleep but he was happy playing so we left him to it. The third night, possibly the fourth, he was asleep with 5mins of his usual bedtime

oh and I agree, lovely to see you!

hi oops really pleased you had a lovely day with crisp and the crispettes

dizzydixies · 24/06/2010 21:15

sounds like a lovely day had by all apparently

friend had her scan (6wks) and apparently all ok, whilst I'm pleased my ovaries are a tad broken hearted too.

more cakes sold and a festival on 17th July signed up for

VG you are an absolute doll, thank you for my lovely card

Rosamund Pilcher tomorrow so lets hope she likes the cakes as much as her son, he was a repeat offender customer today

dizzydixies · 24/06/2010 21:15

It was indeed a most lovely afternoon. MiniMiamla and MiniALBS are the most splendid chaps and Miamla's baking was delicious. DD had a great time when not telling tales . I did get some pics, will upload tomorrow. Thanks Miamla!

Glad the other meet went well too and hurrah for Dizzy's triumphant day!

poppysocks · 25/06/2010 09:35

Phew! Caught up...more of less.

of the meet-up yesterday (plus and baking and the sun ).

Hooray for the cakey successes dizzy. A friend was telling me all about her plans now that her DCs are getting a bit older and they sounded v similar. She lives about no further than an olympic stone's throw from you and is v. talented too so if you're interested in joining forces (or spying on the competition) give me a shout.

Hope you have a fab weekend crispy and there's more of the sun and less of the thunder.

Sorry to hear things haven't improved loti.

Yay for the swift house-sale pert. Don't feel about yours not hp. Love being nosy on other people's behalf .

Hello to everyone else.

Oh and PS, loved your article red.

MrsMiamla · 25/06/2010 09:37

morning

pert can i frame your comment so i can wave it at DH next time he complains about my baking please? Apparently the victoria sandwich (i had to convince him to try), was 'ok' pffft!! oh but the tomato and mozzarella tart was 'lovely' (just a shame you lot didn't leave him more than a taster )

go go go cakey bakey dizz

hi vg

MrsMiamla · 25/06/2010 09:39

ooh crossed with you there....morning poppy

poppysocks · 25/06/2010 09:49

Blimey...still the first one in this morning??

Back from Paris. Travel wasn't too bad (although would have been impossible to be as bad as anticipated, to be fair ). Worst thing was the unanticipated effect of east facing bedroom and flimsy curtains. Will just say that each day started with a 5....

DH completed his cycle but not without a close encounter with a car. Car came off worst and as bike was fine he continued despite a broken hand and deep gash in his thigh .

Had a great break once we were all there. Have to admit to going slightly OTT for fathers' day with much glitter used for cards and a pair of silver cufflinks with their dates of birth engraved on them. Seemed to go down well. He then trumped me by taking me out to a 2* michelin restaurant for my birthday before we left.

Girls totally fab while we were away. Was so lovely to spend lots of time together. I can't believe how grown up they both are now. Loving that they are more robust and interactive but also feeling that their childhoods are going to be over before we know it. Got home to a town full of graduating students and their proud parents and found myself wiping away a tear on the way into work yesterday.

Morning I will indulge in some fresh coffee yawn!

Thankfully no more spots from dd2 so reckon viral rash as apposed to the pox !

Poppy your trip sounded fab and what a nice treat from your dh shame about the injury tho.

Go go go dizzy!

Morning vg/ mrs m xx

CrispyTheCrisp · 25/06/2010 12:28

oops Apologies for the lack of labels, and i think i hurridly said to you in the car park that the little pressie was for OopsaGirl, the bigger one for OopsaBaby and the envelope for the proud parentts. The cheque covers the afternoon tea voucher, which was a fake made by the lovely Miamla. I think that miamla, you should go into forgeries as you obviously did a good job fooling oops

Oops the campervan bit of the present is a bit old for E at the moment, but it worked well here with DD2 having 'older' presents as then DD1 had to share her younger sister's toys rather than always the other way round. Sorry it all got so confusing

Will go read the rest now....

springaporesling · 25/06/2010 12:33

That's a relief loti. Post viral rash a good thing as ts will attest to and hopefully will mean a nice weekend for you and your lovely dds.

Poppy trip sounds great.

Miamla can send some over here where it will be appreciated as I've got my appetite back!

oopsandbabycoconut · 25/06/2010 12:37

Crispy - I had figured almost all of it apart from the tea bit out. DD1 very keep to share DD2's campervan but has been told to wait until E's room is finished then she can play withit in there only as it belongs to E. The glowing fish was an amazing success and the octopus has been named Octobelly as it rhymes with Ellie

DD2 has a fab rash which appeared between dressing and seeingHV for hearing test so they panicked and sent us off to the GP who looked and checked her over, it seems to be a rapidly spreading non specific viral rash but we have to keep an eye for any other symptoms.

Off to catch up on last nights not very chatty chat!

dizzydixies · 25/06/2010 15:50

Hi Poppy, welcome home and fecking hell re your friend having the same idea - that's at least 3 I now know of within the 3 villages up here doing it and was informed of another lady in Cupar this morning Glad that DH's thing went well apart from the gash and we must sort out a meet up soon

Sports day went well, lovely weather without being too hot and the girls did really well

C/M turned up which was a pleasant surprise. Been over and checked on stall. Env Health coming for inspection on Wed

Oops, glad you liked the presents

hello all else

TwilightSurfer · 25/06/2010 20:48

For the record I've washed my hand before typing every thread post so these thread-children "rashes" are not from my dcs!

France has taken on a whole different meaning to me. I once thought it was the place of LOVE now it's marriages gone to pot (no pun intended), stolen vehicles and bike accidents. Goodness!!

Lovely meet-up reports. Why is it pictures are so difficult to come by of these events? Yes Yes I know we often see the children but seriously are there not PARENTS too!! If I've missed a photo link please point me in the proper direction.

dizzydixies · 25/06/2010 21:30

I saw Brian Cox and Nick Cave tonight

shattered though
