Thought the title might be appropriate for both mums and babies

Oh man I'm so so sorry! Was so relieved to get BFN I actually went and did some housework- in thanksgiving perhaps. No idea where AF is though.

Right, time to go shave my legs then teach myself to do continental style knitting. Hopefully DH will still be out on the patio so we can have some 'sweet hanging' while I knit. No expectations of him going all MrMiamla though and joining in LOL.

luckoftheirish · 21/06/2010 19:34

glad you got result you wanted buckets although as cyteen said it was late afternoon wee

MrsMiamla · 21/06/2010 20:22

sorry i skim read from HPT until now! not my fault!!!

MrMiamla will be thrilled that you remembered his knitting exploits bucket! i'm a bog standard normal knitter so fraid i can't help, he's a continental knitter though so let me know if you want any hints from him!

TS hope you and mrTS get back onto the same team soon

loti hope DD2 feels better very soon. Would she sit in a cool bath?

arse, can't remember what else i was going to say..sorry!

oh yes..crisp how long would it take to drive from leamington spa to yours?

CrispyTheCrisp · 21/06/2010 20:35

Evening

Lovely morning at toddler group (spent most of the time outside in the sunshine), alfresco lunch, DD1's swimming & cuppa with a friend, alfresco tea and pilates for me . Ocado also sent me another 15% off code and i managed to secure a delivery slot for tomorrow, so i have more free time sans DD's . Will probably just go car hunting mind

LOTI i hope DD2 has cooled down? Are you alternating Calpol and Ibuprofen every 2 hours? I was seriously told off by a French doctor for not doing this religiously with DD1 to bring her fever down

TS glad you got to have a chat with DH and that it didn't 'descend'. Re card playing, you were lucky not to get roped in. Poor Dizz and MrDizz were not so lucky.....

Buckets At least you would have had room in the car for another

Miamla Why d'ya ask? . The AA says 70 miles and 1hr 20. However the route is not very direct so mileage wise could easily be shorter

LOL @ Longway and her Xmas pressies

Cyteen very, very of your raspberries. I love them and can't wait until they are plentiful at the PYO. We will have a glut of redcurrants instead. Which i am not so fond of

TwilightSurfer · 21/06/2010 20:58

hi! sunkissed we are!!

luckoftheirish · 21/06/2010 21:04

ts.

Crispy have capoled dd2 up and she is asleep at the mo so fingers crossed she sleep ok. Horrible tho as so worried about her she never complains unlike dd1!!

MrsMiamla · 21/06/2010 21:08

crisp, nothing, just wondered

TwilightSurfer · 21/06/2010 21:18

Lucky sitting by with you to help with the worry. ((((hug))))

A friend in town just reported it's 100* outside. Well the first day of summer sure knows how to start things off with a BANG! We've got 3 more months.....

CaptainCaveman · 21/06/2010 21:56

buckets I know where your AF is, she turned up at mine a couple of weeks ago - must've got lost on the way to yours!

cyteen lol at J pooing on the floor How nice of him to tread in it too!

loti hope dd2 is better soon. I agree with cyteen that although you don't want them to be ill, the cuddles and love you get from a poorly little one is reserved for mummies and you know who is truly the centre of their world .

TS glad you got your stuff on the table with dh. I did LOL at the description of your hair looking like a 'shit salad' . May I borrow that from you?

Been playing summer league hockey this evening. 2 X 20 minute games = blardy HOT. All in the name of shedding the jelly belly!!

GladioliBuckets · 21/06/2010 22:06

Well, 2 words to say to continental knitting - sod that! Just couldn't keep up the tension in my left hand and am worn out! Might keep using the continental cast-on (longtail) though as it's v quick and apparently neater (if I can keep it loose enough.)
And sweet hanging on the patio was good, I helped 'direct' him a tiny bit on a song he's writing (ie 'I prefer that version'). I am still quite soppy about him after we all went and played at a skate park and watched him skate a halfpipe without bailing - he's so cool!

MrsMiamla · 21/06/2010 22:38

ah! that's so sweet buckets! Was he on skates or a girlie skate board?
oh and just remembered, i gave up on conti style because i kept getting cramp in my fingers! DH did too but he persevered and managed to get past the cramp stage and onto the bloody good at conti stage!

cc i'm v of your hockey playing! suspect i've left it too late to pick up my stick again now

dizzydixies · 21/06/2010 23:20

I'm in cakey-bakey hell. I managed to do some today but had interruptions from a visitor whom I didn't let over the door but he wouldn't fuckoff leave and a panicked phone call from friend

fecking childcare has bailed AGAIN tomorrow with no notice leaving me with the girls in the morning when I had plannes more baking. I can't really do it with them kicking about as L wants to help all the time and she can't when its for sale. Will need to do a serious rethink [meep].

Meeting tonight which went on for 2hrs and I forgot that DH was nightshift so he had to phone to remind me and by that point he was late for work

sorry to dash in and straight out again

miamla I too amd re the hockey - maybe you and I should play virtual, what was your position

Sazz - loving the facebook pics

Hots - hope you're not under a pile of paint

LWFH - loving the presents

LOTI - hope DD2 feels better tomorrow and you have a good night

Buckets - great news on the skate boarding and slight that you even had to consider peeing on a stick

right, got to go to bed as now have to jiggle everything about for tomorrow as well as baking

hotterpotter · 22/06/2010 00:26

Just nipping on as I wend my weary way to bed. Have been so busy today cleaning and tidying and chucking stuff. DH has mostly finished painting the lounge and it looks really lovely, and so spacious now it is lighter (and tidy ) So now am having major second thoughts about moving at all. For feck's sake

Sweet dreams and I hope you get your baking done tomoz Dizzy. [Grrr] on your behalf re childcare.

dizzydixies · 22/06/2010 07:17

Morning all!

fecking DD2 has had me up since 5am she is now of course passed out in my bed and the other two are up so am about to give them brekker and jump in shower. DH home and going to bed from nightshift so I've got the girls and a tonne to do. At least I've managed to send out a tonne of emails that were overdue - the playgroup meeting was another 2.5hrs last night and I of course got tasked with a million few things to do [glutton for punishment emoticon]

luckoftheirish · 22/06/2010 08:08

Dizzy hope you manage to get lots of baking done and sort your childcare

cece at your hockey playing. I really miss take it up again but time time time!!!

Hots please come and decorate my house

horrible horrible night here dd2 up most of the night with raging temp and kept bursting into loud howls which only pacing around the room would stop beyond knackered today so fingers crossed can get her in with with the docs to figure out what's wrong. Poor wee mite

CrispyTheCrisp · 22/06/2010 10:45

LOTI hope the temp comes down very soon and the docs can give you some answers. Please keep up alternating Calpol and Ibuprofen though. {{hugs}} that all is ok

Dizz what a PITA re childcare. Perhaps a different arrangement might be possible if cakey-bakey stuff works and you can get off from shift stuff. Chicken and egg situation though i know

Well done on the tidying Hots . We have finally stuck on ebay my exercise bike, spare mattress and nursing chair. Hopefully they will all go (don't care if we get nowt for them, just someone to take them away!) and free some space for rearranging the girls rooms

hotterpotter · 22/06/2010 10:50

Oh *loti8 poor DD2 hope you got her in at the doctors and found out what's the matter.

Dizzy at your early rise. Fingers crossed all is running smoothly in the dixie house now.

Well the valuer came and the number he said wasn't big enough and we have decided to stay where we are

I am so sorry to have put you through all my inane whittering over these many months for nothing, but it just seems crazy to go from mortgage-free to mortgaged up to the hilt just so we can live in a nice village, especially in the current dodgy climate where prices seem likely to stagnate for a few years (although where have we heard that before ) So, we are going to enjoy it here for a few more years. And relax

dizzydixies · 22/06/2010 10:58

feck all chance of getting any baking done here so have given up. Took girls to Matalan by 9am to return some stuff then up to ASDA so all rock n roll!! Am now about to get their stuff packed whilst DH sleeps and have to keep reminding myself its only two nights!! PIL are apparently beyond excited

LOTI - hope the Dr has discovered what is wrong and you have something to help poor DD2

Hots, I'm shittingmyself a tad worried about what our house would be valued at these days am glad you're a bit more in love with the house now that its decorated

Sazz, if she doesn't show again on Fri I'm done. Just when I thought we'd turned a corner thank feck the festival doesn't start today or I'd have very little to be selling on how is DH's leg btw?

luckoftheirish · 22/06/2010 11:15

Hots good decision and now your house is lovely and clean and decorated

hugs dizzy and grr re childcare issues I am having a few problems atm in that department but I am not creating a new empire at the same time

dd2 has a virus that may turn into an ear/throat infection as both are sore and red. Will have to wait til Thursday before deciding if she needs antibiotics! Currently watching itng so fingers crossed. I've not even managed a shower yet today! Roll on nap time

springaporesling · 22/06/2010 11:40

Oh Loti why the wait? Then again here they tend to seriously over medicate.

I have caught DS cold and am feeling lousy. He on the other hand is full of beans. DH has big boss in town so is out tonight too so early to bed for me. Work ridiculously busy and am struggling to stick to my hours and is probably the reason I am sick now as normally I never get ill just a bit run down with work and DH being away etc.

TS glad you had a chat with DH.

Hots you know we love the property porn so doesn't matter to us.

Buckets pleased you got the result you wanted.

Dizzy sorry for continued childcare issues.

Hi to everyone else.

TwilightSurfer · 22/06/2010 12:09

morning.

singapore be sure you are pregnant. seems the "cold" is a common first symptom for a few rl friends lately.

dizzy is this cm the same one you had a chat with about cutting back hours? i remember you commented she didn't appear happy about that. maybe you should just end things completely and move on.

lucky i know exactly the place you're in. what is it with viruses these days??? reese has had so many more than dd1 it seems.

i haven't looked at dd1 yet. she's still in her room but not sleeping. fingers crossed she's spot free!

Just popping on quickly whilst DD2 feeds and DD1 chases the cat - Car need to go and get MOT which ran out yesterday!

Dizzy - Your childcarer is being very very unprofessional! I wish I was closer to help with kiddies or baking.

Singa - hope you feel better soon.

Loti - hope DD is better soon without the need for any more trips to the doc.

Sazz - want to come around here and ebay some stuff for me?

VG -good news on the bike - Mine is sitting calling me from the garage but unlikely to be used in the forseeable future.

TS - Hi.

springaporesling · 22/06/2010 13:43

Thanks all. No TS not pregnant expecting AF any day soon. Just been watching the budget with a lemsip and off to bed now. Wow what a life! It's 8.42pm!

GladioliBuckets · 22/06/2010 16:37

Dizzy Are you planning to step down from playgroup/school committees come end of term? I think you'd be allowed you know. Bummer about the help, does sound like she's already left.

Loti Hope she gets better quick. I too am of the wait & see persuasion but then my kids are never hugely ill, don't remember ever being prescribed antibiotics for them (apart from conjunctivitis.)

Chatted to a CM at school today who may have a space for Kurt on one of my work days, yay.
