Hi all - 3 hours sleep so limited brainspace but:

LaT he is totally gorgeous - hope you are doing well all of you. Will be in touch.

Hollyoaks good to see you again!

Sorry just going to say hi at everyone else!

Had my first day at work yesterday which went fine - it's a laidback place despite the pressure of work and as I'm much closer to home now (35mins cycle ride) it is good for my quality of life too! Spent most of my first day actually working and filing my first bundle of papers with the court which is not bad for a first day. Can tell I'm still not totally wel though as I got overtired and then couldn't sleep

Simps - you can still report it as a danger without saying Pitbull. ANY dog can be a danger not just pitbulls, yes pitbulls can cause more damage than say a chihuahua but they're not more prone to attack than a smaller dog.
I completely understand what your saying about the worries of him being there so you should report it, just try without saying pitbull as he may just be a large staffordshire terrier that in the right home would flourish.

Yes glutton you are - 2 kittens are going to amuse themselves but what happens if they gang up on you lol

WST - Sory your still having trouble sleeping, Hope you get some today

fillybuster · 06/07/2010 18:30

Another day of high pitched wind-related scresming here..I feel so guilty when Mia looks at me and seems disappointed that I can't make it go away Ah well...

Took T to visit her nursery for next year this morning - she was so excited but very disappointed to learn that I wasn't going to say goodbye and leave her for the whole morning - she came up to me after 5 minutes and very firmly told me "Bye bye mummy, see you later"! ...at least I'm not too worried about her settling in well in September And it was A's school sports day this afternoon, so Mia and I went down to cheer him on - bless, he has inherited my crap co-ordination and came close to last in every race, but he tried really hard and didn't get cross about losing, unlike some of his friends, so I was really proud of him

Knackered now though, and DH is back at work (and doing long hours), so need to summon the energy for 3 DCs bath and bedtimes

At least I don't have to cook dinner - our friends have been amazing and set up a meal rota for the first couple of weeks, so we've been having yummy food delivered every day since Mia was born ....sadly I'm going to have to start pulling my weight again from next week !

Simpson - can't help with the dog at all (but wouldn't the council switchboard be able to put you through to the right department?). I'm also stuck on birthday presents, but thats mainly because we just got A a Leapster 2 and a micro-scooter as his presents from Mia....which yes, was probably overkill but we wanted to get him the scooter anyway and the Leapster is the first toy he's had in ages which keeps him 100% occupied without any adult intervention for hours at a time....so totally worth it!! The Leapster is brilliant (and educational) and was half price on ebay...so I'd recomend that if J hasn't got anything like it already?

JKS - amazing news on H's development...he's really coming on in leaps and bounds (almost literally!) now, isn't he? And I'm so pleased T liked school Can me and Mia (and maybe Tamara) come and visit you at the seaside one day during the summer hols please? A has camp every day, so I can just come with the little one(s) if you're around at all?

WST - glad camping was fun and I loved the pics Well done on starting the new job - now you just need to stay chilled about it

Lucky - hope Ali feels better soon

Where's MixedMama? I wonder if the morning sickness has hit yet....

Gingeme - how long until your party now?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/07/2010 10:27

Morning all,

Have read everything and just been lurking. Weirdly MS not kicked in yet, but based on the full on every day for 28 weeks with E I doubt I will get away with it for that much longer.

JKS - Filly: I am planning to go to the seaside at some point, I have another friend from school who has childen in southend, maybe we could co-ordinate to meet in the afternoon or something.

Helloeveryone.....

simpson · 07/07/2010 17:39

Mixedmama - how many weeks are you now??

Had hosp appt with M's dietician appt yesterday...

Basicially she thinks M may have celiacs (sp) disease...not convinced myself but she is referring her back to pead (who had discharged her in April) for tests etc...

J still got cough so at doc's tom for tips on trying to get rid of it before op although not sure if there is much she can do but worth a try I guess....

Filly - J has his sports day on Monday next week and I am dreading it as he is very competitive although having said that I will be suprised if he doesn't win one race as he is very sporty (he gets that from his dad not me )

Cheers for tips re his birthday, he already has a Vtech something or other that plugs into TV which he loves....maybe new games for it might be an idea

H is arriving on Friday to see kids for 3 days...Kids will be staying at my mums the whole time so I will only have to see H for an hr or so Fri afternoon and maybe a couple of hrs on Sun

He has even been texting me to see how DCs got on at various hosp appts etc and has set up an email acct for J to email him

Lucky - going to wait until H's trip is over and then decide what to do. Was out in front garden yesterday after DCs were in bed and said dog was also out going ballistic to get to me being v aggressive etc and I thought to myself that I have to do something and then I looked down at my feet and neighbours cat was next to me and it was trying to get to cat not me

Lilyloo · 07/07/2010 20:25

Simps hope the visit from H goes better than last time. Guess it good you don't have to see him.

Filly i also hate bath / bed but easier now H can sort himself out!

Can i have proud mummy moment. Officially started M full time potty training as of yesterday. She has only had one accident when she was eating but we have had lot's of wees on potty some when i am doing other things I am so pleased fingers crossed it will keep on this way as i will have my sis 3 kids on Sat first time Rubi has been away from mum for a day i also have to take L and her cousin for her swimming lesson , how i do that with 6 kids is yet to be seen

Lilyloo · 07/07/2010 20:26

willsurvive great news about your first day hope you get some sleep though !

JKS more great news about H

nicky6 · 07/07/2010 23:07

Hi everyone - remember me? I saw u had meet at corams fields again if I had known I would have come. Been totally off radar as noah's reflux is still keeping me up through the night coupled with Charlie the whirlwind and my laptop dying meant no real chance to post. But now have iPhone and new laptop so hopefully will keep in touch. Have no idea whatsbeen going on- I assume filly has had number 3?
Any other big news I have missed.

Noah was one last week and is now doing his settling in period at nursery(cue broken hearted mummy) but I have to prepare my case for the autumn so no option. Hard though I boo hooed after I left him today. Aparently he suddenly noticed some point after I said goodbye to him that I wasn't there and cried! Oh well fingers crossed tomorrow will be better. Am off to sleep as am sure to be up in a few hours!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 08/07/2010 13:39

Lily - well done M

Simps - I am so pleased H is making more effort. If anything just for the kids to feel that he cares it is heartbreaking when I see your posts about J so very pleased to see a little more interest. Also, brilliant you dont actually have to deal with him directly really.

Nicky -

Filly and LaT have had no. 3 but I will let them fill you in when they are around.

Simps - I reckon I am perhaps 5-6 weeks only judging by my dates. Ridiculous that MN knows about this before most people in RL

fillybuster · 08/07/2010 18:48

Welcome back! Sorry to hear Noah's reflux is still so bad, that must be really hard for him as well as you I missed the last meetup in the end (well, I was 39 weeks and pretty immobile!) but am going to do my best for the next one - fingers crossed I had #3 on 22nd June: it's another girl, Mia Rae, and she was a hefty 9lbs 3oz ! Tamara and A are both adjusting really well, although we're definitely getting a bit of extra terrible twos playing up from T at the moment! At least all the naughty behaviour is being aimed at us, not at 'Baby Mia' (as T calls her), who she adores

MixedMama - its weird, isn't it? You all knew ages before any of my RL friends and damily - but it is nice to have somewhere to talk about it during the 'secret' stage, isn't it?

Simpson - extra games sounds like a good plan for J. Actually, coeliac disease could be a possibility - I know a few other people with it, and although its really hard to avoid gluten, once you get used to cooking without it, it really isn't too bad. The 2 kids I know who have it both really improved massively (and grew a lot more as well, as it can suppress thyroid activity or something) once it was diagnosed. Fingers crossed you get some sort of useful diagnosis anyway

Right, back into the bedtime/bathtime fray. I'm tired of feeling hot and sticky - I wish the weather would either improve or just rain...

LaTrucha · 08/07/2010 20:22

Hi all, I'm going to catch up tonight but just checking in to say we've been in hospital for the last couple of days as Daniel had an infected cord. He was on IV antibiotics but well in himself. Very glad to be home, and poor Sabela is glad to have us here, poor little thing.

Had breast scan today too and all's clear.

JustKeepSwimming · 08/07/2010 20:43

Firstly - definitely up for summer meetup by the seaside

Off to catch-up...

JustKeepSwimming · 08/07/2010 20:56

Right here we go:

LaT - for poor Daniel, glad he's home and ok now. And glad breast scan went well (did you mention a lump before?).

Simps - how's the showering going for M now? strange as most kids find showers slightly scary compared to baths. Had a friend who was/is coeliac, could email her for advice if you want? (her twins were treated as coeliacs for quite a while post-birth though think they are fine now).
Glad H is getting more involved in a not-too-involved way IYKWIM

Lucky - one of my cats still tries to rugby tackle me if i walk past him without paying him attention

WST - hope you are doing ok

Filly - what camp is A doing? how old is he now, have lost track? you + girls welcome anytime Except 14-28th Aug as we will be housesitting in Jersey then!

Mixedm - if it never kicks in maybe it's girl??!!?? Oh and you guys will be first to know too (apart from DH, well maybe before him too if he's at work, lol!!).

Lily - Saturday sounds fun..... Well done to M with potty training!

Nicky - hellooooo Sorry N is still having problems, are you seeing anyone still about it? Sure we will arrange another Corams meetup, poss Sept when H has his next appt?

Had a development check for H today, suffice to say, I need to be more prepared for the negativity that comes out in such appts, he can NOT do this, he does NOT do that, etc....silly doctor (never met before) tried to start at normal 2 year old stuff, instead of aiming low and working up.

Also had T's Leaver's Assembly today, was cute & a tad OTT, they ended up in gowns & mortar boards , but sweet anyway, still a few more days to go, then freedom

willsurvivethis · 08/07/2010 21:13

LaT poor Daniel - glad you're home again

JKS you better get used to it...New paed asked us straight off 'so is he not walking yet then...'

All the other professionals are positive, he can do this and this he has made progress in this and this. Stupid paeds always go can't can't can't.

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 08/07/2010 21:23

LaT glad you are home , poor Daniel .

Jks and will cannot believe they are so negative especially when you are so thrilled with what they are achieving
Well couple of accidents here today but think he wanted a poo !! She has been a little madam today and decided to pick all my carrots and eat my peas whilst i was doing tea .
Am taking her to work with me tom as it is leaving party for school leavers and we have a farm coming in!!

Also have first case of nits here H has them , just spent £15 on treatment , thankfully girls both seem clear. He said 2 kids in his calss have them , and 1 has had them for ages

nicky6 · 08/07/2010 22:41

Nice to be back congrats filly and LaT . Still under consultant at kings seeing him next week again for update. Mixm looks like some congrats to you too. My sickness other way round. Sick 40 weeks with Charlie and hardly at all with Noah x

hollyoaks · 09/07/2010 09:12

Hi all, I lost the thread as I'm so rubbish at keeping up, hands full with my two girls though.

LaT - Daniel and your little girl are gorgeous, congratulations again Glad he is feeling better and your breast scan was clear.

Filly - hope the sports day went well, I went to see my dn at his sports day last week and lo and behold Grace started screaming. Had to bf on the field, thankfully there were benches to sit on, but I ended up burning my back in my efforts to shield her from the sun.

Simpson - still catching up and learning, is M your 2yo. Has she got a problem with her bowels or is she struggling with potty training? Oh, have continued reading on from my last post and see she may have coeliac's disease .

Lucky - I've had a sick toddler and hungry baby this week too, which ever one I picked up seemed to throw up on me. I was covered in poo yesterday too The joys of motherhood.

JKS - glad the surgery was a success, I know how much a relief it is when things start to improve

Lilyoo - well done re potty training, I wish it had been that successful when we tried with I, good luck with 6 kids on Saturday, not sure how old they are but could you buddy a big kid with a smaller kid?

Willsurvive - glad your first day back at work went well.

Nicky - hi again, poor N with reflux, I have no experience of it but some of the mums on my May postnatal thread have lo's suffering with it . They have said positive things about coleif, but I bet you've tried it.

Well, I'm off to pack as we are going to centre parcs for a week and Alton Towers for the weekend. It's quite difficult packing for four, including a newborn without knowing how the good old british weather will hold up. At least we are getting away from this gun-toting psycho though, quite scary up hear in the northeast at the moment.

gingeme · 09/07/2010 13:51

Hey all sorry havn't been able to catch up but been busy as usual here
David got his school report yesterday. It was brilliant
Edward has his will infection back again going to see about getting him circumstised.
George had a little try with pants on on Sunday. Managed to do a pooh next to the toilet and cried and 3 wees in various places. Will try him properly when the 6 weeks hols start.
ds2 here till the 23rd hes been pretty heplful sort of
I went for my kidney scan yesterday. It was a total waste of time as they scanned my 'ladys bits' instead of my kidneys etc. The good thing was though it was the same lady who did all my pre natal scans so we had a good catch up
Have to go to my gp in 2 weeks to find the results.
ds3 has his summer fete this afternoon. Phew I hope the boys don't want their faces painted
Love to all xxx

simpson · 09/07/2010 16:35

Hi all

H is due here any minute

Kids just having their tea so will be ready to leave as soon as H arrives (they are staying at my mum's for the w/end with H)...

J was at docs yesterday re cough which has got to clear up before his op and doc thinks he has asthma which I don't think he does

He has got inhaler to use 3 times a day and a referal to asthma clinic next week.

Hollyoaks - M has lots of severe food intolerances (dairy & soya mainly) so its hard to get her "normal" iyswim. She has pooed on 3 vests today

Gingeme - poor Edward

Nicky - poor Noah re reflux

Right, must dash, have not packed kids bags yet

nicky6 · 09/07/2010 22:52

Hi there u see now u can't get rid of me.
Hollyoaks thanks but noah's reflux is due to a loose valve at top of stomach being loose just gave to cross fingers he grows out of it. He is oin 3 diff types of meds to reduce acid, increase rate if digestion, line stomach wall etc etc . Anyway off to bed now.

simpson · 10/07/2010 11:35

Hi all

H arrived and him and my dad took the kids off yesterday.

H still does not look well and its quite a shock every time I see him But he was engaging with the kids a bit more and had even bought them a present each which is all good

JKS - bath a definate no no atm but she is totally fine is shower So as long as I can wash her that is fine. TBH J much prefers showers too and it makes life easier for me as he can do it himself iyswim then I only have to supervise M.

Could you ask your friend how they diagnose coeliacs if poss?? Have just started thread on it and someone mentioned gut biopsy which has sent me into panic Its enough J having his op on 23rd!!!

Having lazy day to myself then out with the girls later tonight

AngeChica · 10/07/2010 12:05

DH school trip to the Northumberland hills got cancelled this w/e due to gunman madness so I am not home alone after all. I am glad it is all over now; as Hollyoaks says, it has been a bit mad up here.

Am off to Suffolk for a couple of days this week, mainly for friend's 40th party. It will be strange not going back to my family home as parents have retired to a different town - actually a much nicer place. Where I think some of Grandpa in my Pocket is filmed !

Then, DH DS me and the dog are going on a 3 week camping trip to northern Europe. We must be mad...

A seems to be going through a new "fears" phase atm. The Hoover, aeroplanes, etc. He had a nightmare lst week, DH picked him up on the landing actually trembling with fear. Apparently it was a mouse with big teeth .

Hello to all BTW, Daniel is adorable LaT & glad he is on the mend now.

simpson · 10/07/2010 16:49

I knew it was too good to be true

I had my suspisions when H arrived but then shrugged it off.

My mum said H was so pissed when he arrived back at hers that he could barely stand

He does not deserve those kids [sngry]

simpson · 10/07/2010 17:03

But there is one bit of good news

My mum has just rung to say she has got M in the bath and she is fine!!

willsurvivethis · 10/07/2010 20:24

Simpson oh no when will he get his act together....

Ange Nathan is afraid of lots of things too - big things mainly and water (sea, pool, stream)
