Filly - lol, i think i've met elephant at the V&A cafe? yes tis rather large:)

Gingeme - hope the house doesn't come up with any last minute surprises for you. I'm always giving away bubble wrap on freecycle, make sure to ask for more if you need it, someone will always have a pile in a cupboard. If it's all ok tomorrow, how soon can you move???

LaT & Simp, and Filly, your girls sound lots of hard work fun Grin

so, cot has been dismantled and the toddler bed has been set up in the boys room, so fingers crossed for bedtime...oh and the morning too!

(though i am off to orchestra & leaving DH in charge as he's around for the next few nights so thought now is as good a time as any.....)

latrucha · 05/10/2010 20:02

That is wicked JKS Wink

News of scan?

Good luck tomorrow Gingeme. I hope it's all you want and more.

Sabela has been an absolute delight today. Do you think she reads MN? Mind you, she was in nursery until 3pm Grin. She has had stars every day she's been ther e recently for eating her lunch. Smile

How's M today Simps?

gingeme · 05/10/2010 20:24

Thankyou ladies Smile Not sure about when we can move JKS. Although I would love to move asap I would also like to leave it till the last two weeks ov Nov because DH has 2 weeks annual leave plus we would get Edwards and mine birthdays out the way SmileWe will find out for sure tomorrow.
I asked Davids school about him moving schools. What a rigmarol what with all the forms and applying to the council etc Hmm
Anyway I'm off for a bath and I shall report back tomorrow Smile

simpson · 05/10/2010 21:06

Ahhhh M been a handful today

maaassive tantrum on a full bus today Blush Blush

With everybody staring

Oh well, that will teach me to attempt to take her out without a buggy!!

latrucha · 05/10/2010 21:18

Nightmare, Simpson. Nightmare.

simpson · 06/10/2010 19:39

JKS - how was last night???

Gingeme - saw news on FB Smile Fab news, we call all "help" you shop for your new place Grin Grin

All good here and M been a bit better today but thats probably because I spent a small fortune on her clothes wise although it was most overdue and much needed Blush

fillybuster · 06/10/2010 19:39

Come on Gingeme...I've been waiting since 10am for a report!! Whats the house like?!

JustKeepSwimming · 06/10/2010 20:19

Yes G - i'm sooo excited on your behalf, i want to hear ALL about it!! Grin

(for those not on FB, she's got the house & they're moving on MONDAY!!!)

Simps - glad she was better today, sympathies re tantrum on the bus, H was melting down at a bday party on Sunday and whacking me (full force slaps and scratches in the face) and i really felt the other parents 'watching'...

Last night went really well, they were both asleep in their beds by 8, H came into us at 6.40, though by T's rules that's the 'middle of the night' lol! he's not meant to come into us until 7.

And tonight was even better, both in bed quiet by 7.30 - but H was exhausted, no naps for a few days and lots of running around at a friend's earlier.

gingeme · 06/10/2010 21:46

Hi ladies.
Yes we have our 3 bedroom house Grin
It is much better than we expected. The front room is massive and it has a brand spanking new kitchen.
The bedrooms are a good size especialy the front one , our room. We do all the paper work tomorrow and collect the keys and our tenancy starts on Monday ShockWe are actualy going to move in next Friday, 15th. DH is getting a long weekend . It will mean paying a weeks rent on both properties but it will be worth it to not have to rush with the packing. I'll be sending the boys school applications off tomorrow too and writing a letter to the boys presant school to let them know Sad
Well 12 years in a fair size 2 bedroom flat to a 3 bed house with a garden and garage. Do you think we made the right decision? I think so Grin Grin

simpson · 06/10/2010 21:56

Sounds fab Grin Grin

fillybuster · 06/10/2010 22:50

I'm delighted for you Gingeme :) :) So excited for all of you :) Are you still in the area? Can we manage a mini-meet once you're past the moving chaos?

JustKeepSwimming · 07/10/2010 16:22

G - you won't know what to do with yourselves, all that space!! I sense some shopping coming Grin

Scan done - all well, just the one ;) and spot on for my dates.
scan photo on FB for those who like that sort of thing :)

mixedmamameansbusiness · 08/10/2010 17:14

Wow 12 weeks already JKS.

Gingeme - just so exciting. We have a reasonably large 3 bed flat so we do have "space" but I would happily downsize for a garden although I kind of need my 3rd room now. And, I will be mentioning the BBQ again once summer hits Wink

Simps I need to do shopping for the kids long overdue I cleared out their wardrobes the other day and it is looking distinctly empty.

Not much on this weekend. My parents and brother have finally actually moved into their new place so going round tomorrow now the furniture is in and carpets etc very excited as my mum spent an extortionate amount of money on sofas but they are so lovely and she has been living for 5 years with my dads choice of ridiculously cheap and awful and uncomfy sofas for 5 years. Kids at ILs on Sunday so going to try and knuckle dow to some reading as I fancy a litle one day course at City Lit next week so will need to do some prep.

Hope you all have exciting or at least relaxing bits and pieces planned.

Simps - saw on FB about buggyfit... do you recommend it... am thinking it will begood for when baby comes I think there is a session in Regents Park so thinking I might give it a go.

gingeme · 08/10/2010 21:09

Evening ladies.
I have started packing and just want to hide in one of the boxes till its all over! We picked up the keys yesterday so we will be taking boxes to the house, ooh that sounds good lol, through the week and the removal guys can take the big stuff in their van next Friday Smile Took the boys to see it yesterday. They flew round the house and rushed out into the garden Grin
Edward keeps calling it our 'up house' and David asked if we could take the wallpaper with us Hmm
Anyway just a quick pop in. Oh and yes mm we will have a Mumsnet BBQ Grin

latrucha · 09/10/2010 14:12

Grin Gingeme . Very happy for you. Grin

OPretty absent here. More visitors, which is lovely but not much internet time!

fillybuster · 09/10/2010 19:41

Hey, LaT - thanks for the Toy Castle link...one of my bfs just mentioned she was thinking of getting one for her ds1 and 'tada' I had details for her :) :)

JustKeepSwimming · 09/10/2010 19:56

I loved that castle too LaT - but can just see DH's face when another huge toy arrives!!
I am actually planning on getting T a train table (& getting rid of an old sofa to make space, lol) off ebay, keep looking for one nearby but no luck yet.

G - hope the packing is going ok, lots of rescue remedy is my advice!

So far the move to a bed has gone very well, though H is waking earlier in the morning & obv being free to wander than he used to.

He is learning new words all the time, today was 'tree' & 'nine' :)

gingeme · 09/10/2010 21:06

Sounds like H is doing fab JKS Smile
Pop in when you can LaT .
We ordered our carpets today from Carpet right. There is paul Simon curtain shop upstairs from it and I got 2 pairs of ex display pairs for £9.99 each Grin one for Davids room and one for the living room. Just need some for Eand G s room now. We are taking ours from our bedroom and the blind from the kitchen Smile
Sorry to keep banging on about the house....
Right off for a bath now. Got to make the most of it I guess.

madmouse · 10/10/2010 19:53

Gingeme you keep talking about the house - I want to hear all about it!!!Grin

We went to see Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends yesterday at our local historic railway. There were lots of trains with faces, there was a full sized Thomas train and we had a few rides and Nathan met the Fat Controller who was nice and not scary. He got a certificate and stickers too. He was a bit scared at first because of all the noises and whistles and steam and crowds (cerebral palsy gives kids an exaggerated startle reflex and he panics a bit sooner as he cannot run away) but he settled down and really enjoyed it.

It was a good day!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/10/2010 20:00

Definitely Gingeme, i want to hear every detail! Grin

Something afoot with the boys, T wouldn't eat lunch, then crashed out for a 2+hours in bed (he never sleeps in the day!) and then eyes were dropping at 7pm too.
Slight temp and complaining about his head but nothing specifically wrong with him.
And H wouldn't eat tea then crashed out on the beanbag straight after tea (so asleep by 5.45ish, slept through me watching XFactor, and DH putting him to bed).

So who knows what's going on, just really hoping i don't come down with whatever it is....

simpson · 13/10/2010 17:58

JKS - hope boys feel better soon Smile

Gingeme - how is the move going?

All good here. J got "footballer of the week" in his after school footie club so was most chuffed Grin

M still being M Hmm

It is her last week at her old playgroup this week and from next wk she moves to a much nearer new one that has just opened in J's school's childrens centre.

M's new thing is to say "no way!!" to everything in a typical teenage fashion

She has also decided who her best friend is and wants to see her at every available opportunity and show her every drawing/painting done etc....

madmouse · 14/10/2010 11:57

Breaking news here

No I'm not pregnant that would be even better news smile] - but it's good

Gingeme how's the move going?

gingeme · 14/10/2010 14:53

Hi ladies. Just a quick pop in before Virgin cut us off till next Tuesday. All going well here. Carpets down in the house and the majority of our stuff is there . Just the big bits to go in the van tomorrow morning. It was Georges last morning at playgroup and the teacher bought him a Thomas book and card to say goodbye. So lovely. Edward has been realy poorly with a tummy bug and now has an eye infection so he missed his last week of nursery. I said I would pop in with him when he's better.
I just want to be in the house now and unpacking . But that's the control freak in me speaking lol.
Well wish me luck and I'll try to pop in on Tuesdayzxx

latrucha · 14/10/2010 15:43

That's fantastic Gingeme. So quick! It's lovely that you're so excited. Hope Edward is better soon.

We've got DH's sister here which I'm a bit concerned about. I really want to have a nice time with her, but I think she's finding life with babies a bit boring. Unfortunately, although we told her not to, she's come when DH is super busy at work so I'm a bit worried she is bored.

And a bit Hmm that she made a big show of coming to help me but hasn't lifted a finger so far TBH, but I'm only telling you guys that!

latrucha · 14/10/2010 15:57

Oh! And advice please. Is it cruel not to put a nappy on if Sabela is going down for a nap? We're going for potty training, but she did two pees, one at the beginning and one at the end of nap time and seemed very disappointed with herself, which is horrid as she couldn't help it.

I've joliied her along for today, but do you think I should put a nappy on her for nap tomorrow?
