look I am trying to stay in touch!!!!

Just been to a fab 3rd birthday party with dts and they saw lots of their 'old' friends from their last nursery. They loved it

James & Luke stayed with dh and James fell off his bike!

SOL - hope you have a super day tomorrow x

Dippy - I hope you also have a super day x

StealthPolarBear · 11/07/2010 16:31

oooh oooggs you got redundancy, fantastic!!
CD - remember I bought a doidy cup when T was tiny? He never really got the hang of it, but A absolutely loves it - she drinks much easier from it than her tommee tippee, but obv the doidy only comes out when I can supervise I think about you (in a good, non stalkery) way every time I use it!

I think T may finally have got the hang of potty training! A few days now with no accidents anf him asking to go when he needs to, including a poo during a La Leche League meeting I went to yesterday, I was very proud of him. Oddly he's not as good at nursery yet, not sure why as I thought they trooped them all off fairly routinely? Never mind, he's getting there!

Just popping in to wish SOL and Dippy a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

ScarletBandit · 12/07/2010 13:14

Hello ladies, long time no chat! I haven't caught up at all, but think about you all regularly so I though I would drop by.

I have had some issues going on which have made me very anti-social, hence my disappearing act.
Basically I have been diagnosed with depression and have been on medication for the last two months. The up side is that I now feel much much better, and more like my normal self. I felt like I was living under a very black cloud, but now it has lifted.
I didn't really want to be on medication, but it has made the world of difference, so worth it in the long run. And both my kids would agree as I was shouting an awful lot, and now I don't! (well not so much anyway).

Ffion will start full time nursery from September, and Ethan is off to the juniors. They both break from school on Friday for seven (yes, seven) weeks! This is because they should go back on September 2nd (I think), but the schools are having inset days and so don't go back until Monday 6th.
I am actually really looking forward to the break from the rush of the school run, although I may need to remind myself of that thought in a few weeks time.

Ethan had a nasty accident a few weeks ago, lost control of his bike on a hill (in a field which has a bank on one side), and went straight into a steel post head first. Very scary with an ambulance called and a huge lump on his head. Typically the pole managed to hit him just under the helmet he was wearing. We went to A+E and although he had a very swollen eye with lots of bruising, there was no permanent damage done. I honestly don't know how, because he hit his head with such force, but thankfully all is fine.

I am still working some agency shifts at the weekends, and my regular job in the week, and life is generally pretty good.
We are going to the Isle of Wight in August for a week in a caravan and I can't wait as I am really looking forward to the break.

I really hope you are all doing ok. SOL and Elkie, how are your mums doing? I think about them from time to time, so just because I have been absent from the thread I am still here in some form or other!!!
Anyway, that is my news in brief, hopefully back in the not too distant future xxx

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2010 13:21

Nice to see you again SB - poor E - glad he was OK other than swollen and bruised.
Glad to hear medication has got you back to feeling like your normal self too Does this mean you'll be sticking around here? Nice to see that the April 07 thread isn't coming to an end - I was starting to worry, and have vanished myself for a few periods

ScarletBandit · 12/07/2010 13:28

I will definitely try to come back a bit more regularly. Life seems so busy all the time, and the weeks and months are just passing me by!

You know when you just feel like everything happens at once. My aunt has a tumour and is having chemo, she is really trying to be positive which is fab, but the chemo is making her feel really rough.

And to top it off my dog has two tumours in his tummy. He is nearly 13 so quite old really, and there is nothing that can be done for him. He is on steroid tablets every day, and we are just hanging in there with him until the day comes when I have to do something that I try not to think about too often. The vet is happy with him at the moment, so I am enjoying the fact that he is still with us for now.

How are your two doing SPB? I bet your baby is not so much of a baby any more is she?!

oooggs · 12/07/2010 13:30

ScarletBandit · 12/07/2010 13:45

Happy Birthday to SOL and Dippy, hope you both have fab days and are suitably spoiled! xx

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2010 14:15

where's it from oooggs? that is T's gerry and if he ever were to expire in the washing machine we'd need a replacement, quick!

Yes, oven pride did that, I am a convert. We had lived here almost 4 years and I've maybe half heartedly cleaned it once - then that which was a lot less effort. It's been over a week now and I still keep turning the light on to see how it all gleams And it's less than £5!

Bramshott · 12/07/2010 16:06

Having a normal day so far, but will probably take the girls out for tea and cake once they get home.

They did remember that it was my birthday, and N played "Happy Birthday" on the piano which was lovely! O gave me a cuddle "because it's your birthday, and because you like cuddles, don't you?"
