Hello everyone

Buckets 'enjoy' your jog

Dizz hope you are feeling better sweetie

Oops 3cm . Won't be long now then!

Loti I hope you've managed to go back to bed and DH is looking after your DDs

Sazz sounds like you had a great night and yay for lie-in!

cece is it still sunny in Nottingham? we have grey cloud today

cyteen your allotment day sounds loads of fun No advice with DS though. Although mine does not do the ear-splitting screams yet he is definitely in the knowing-what-no-means-but-ignoring-it camp

Well we had a brilliant time at my best friend's 40th birthday party last night . It was an 80s / soft rock disco with optional dressing up so DH went as Axl Rose and I got Gothed up for the first time in nearly 20 years! Bless DD, when she saw me she said oh mummy you look beautiful well she wouldn't have said that if she could have seen me this morning... after drinking weak beer most of the night the last hour was spent with seven of us downing shorts like they were going out of fashion so feeling a little still pissed fluffy today Had a lie-in till 11 though and DC not back from my mum's until later this aft so yay

GladioliBuckets · 18/04/2010 12:53

Hotter what fun!

Cyteen Don't know if he's old enough to understand this but you could try saying you don't want to play with boys who make that noise? And going off/depositing him in a different room.

Lovely friend took kids at 12pm thank god as I'm apparently making up for 12wks worrth of no symptoms in one day. Not happy at all

Sazz, what the feck about the car?? A write off??

GladioliBuckets · 18/04/2010 15:44

Well, what a surprise, have decided jogging is not for me. I managed 2x 250m actual jogging and accidentally took a shortcut across the 5k course. Still, achieved my target of 30mins activity LOL. Have horrid blisters on my heels now too, what on earth is the appeal?

God Sazzles that's going to take a long time to stop scowling and huffing at him about isn't it?

Dizzy go to bed.

Has anyone got the Rachel Allen Bake book? Do the recipes work irl? Had a flick through last night whilst babysitting.

dizzydixies · 18/04/2010 15:46

I have been between 12:30-15:00 but unfortunately lying down appears to make me worse

I have it, recipes are nice and work well

Def not preggy related, DH brought me some lucozade & about to try dry toast can't work out if it's a good idea or not!

Glad car at least home, can it be fixed when you're away?

cyteen · 18/04/2010 16:49

Sazz now might be the time to remind him of that age-old saying, 'you break it you buy it'

Blazingly hot and sunny here again, honestly like July - my face is tingling even though I slathered on factor 40 whilst out We went for a picnic in the most fantastic park, so much to do for kids of all ages and loads of lovely green space. A great time was had by all, i.e. we're all knackered

GreenGardenia · 18/04/2010 17:58

Oh dizzy you poor thing how absolutely vile it is the worst, most pummelling sort of illness, vomiting. Hope you manage to keep luco & toast down.

Sazz the current fireworks may mean no-one ever forgets re. your car again but as a precaution you could get this which my mum saw on Dragons' Den and has been recommending to me ever since (we only got a diesel car about 3 weeks ago).

Yes I was running today & dreading that would not be able to finish due to agony in Achilles, however despite some horrible hills I did get to the end, albeit at the leisurely time of 1:06 which was slower than the last one I did in February. However between Easter holidays doing me out of training and general injury status I was happy! Running outside is v different and joggling between other people is dire, there were 11,000 people running, normally it's just 1.

Loti I was appalled to read about your holiday! I can't believe how needlessly unpleasant people can be, I'm really cross on your behalf. What bloody idiots.

GladioliBuckets · 18/04/2010 18:10

Top tip re vomiting (speaking as an expert) is don't go brushing your teeth afterwards, as many people feel inclined to do. As your teeth have just been showered in hydrochloric acid, the last thing the enamel needs is a good scrubbing. Rinse with water or milk if you can face it, as it is alkaline.

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/04/2010 18:22

Afternoon

Dizzy - Hope you feel better soon.

Buckets - I was 3cm from earlier than this with DD and she still was late! DH thinks I won't go to term but I think I will. Great running.

VG - Well done on the run - faster than I could ever have done it!

Loti - I had missed news about your holiday on your behalf.

Sazz - at DH and the diesel/petrol mixup. I know someone who did this and ran their car she wondered why it kept cutting out, took it to the garage and it needed £1000's to fix it. I hope DH's syphoning worked.

TwilightSurfer · 18/04/2010 19:22

Skimmed backwards a bit. Sorry for missing folks. This has been a packed out weekend and I'm not done.

Oops cousin that just delivered her dc3 was 3.5cm for quite a long while before she delivered a day or so late. You'll be fine. I can't wait though.

Dizzy sorry you're grim. Rest and hope it passes quickly.

Buckets we are peas and carrots. I too think running is NOT my thing.

I believe Sazzles will get a kick out of this story....
Yesterday I left to buy groceries. On the way there (in hindsight I recalled this) I heard a pop. Parked went, went in store, shopped for about a half hour, walked out and truck looked cock-eyed. FLAT TIRE! Phoned my knight in a red charger (DH). While we gathered the girls and hauled ass to where I was, I undid all that needed undoing and figured out most of the tire stuff apart from releasing the spare and taking off the blown tire. It took DH & I 45 more minutes to figure out those two slightly important steps. Useful owners manual did contain information we needed but I did find it first time through. So spare was almost as bad as blown tire. I left ahead of DH to put air in the spare...finally on my truck. DH, fiddling with the girls (DD1 had unbuckled and didn't alert DH until he started backing out of his car spot), rolled into another car in the parking lot. CRASH! Thankfully both cars hit plastic to plastic and basically just traded paint. It could have been loads worse. All this an me sporting a serious sinus headache and worrying the food I'd bought NOW AN HOUR AGO was going to spoil. Buzzed over to my tire shop, tossed them my keys and said call me when it's fixed. My tire shop loves me because I'm easy-peasy (and have spent loads with them lately). Tire fixed and now on the spare rim. NEW tire on rear rim. OLD SPARE IN A LANDFILL SOMEWHERE. DH not discussing minor accident.

Beautiful weather outside. Time to paint house trim. Later!!

Believe me I LAUGHED too.

I am all for a nozzle or something more noticeable for DIESEL. Most stations here have diesel in "green" BUT NOT ALL. This totally scares me when I pull up and use a green pump....I don't have a DIESEL truck.

Hi ladies, just dropping in a quick hello while my computer actually seems to be working
Not much doing here - S has a couple of new words: Duggy (doggy although seems to double for any animal.) Baa (bath) oh and poo. fairly obvious what that means, as he generally says it while tugging at his nappy. S has also become a big fan of Pluto. He isn't bothered with TV, but DP put on an old disney thing on youtube and S sat and watched it, giggling in the appropriate places. Guess this boy of ours is old-school.
DP pissed off with his boss as he's not getting a pay rise. Boss said he's done really well, worked hard, blah blah blah but not getting a pay rise. Arse.
Anyway think that's all my news for now. Hope everyone is ok. Glad to hear your vehicle hasn't suffered too badly sazz.

springaporesling · 19/04/2010 05:52

Dizzy hope you are feeling better.

QoD good to see you! DS speaking improved no end when we were in England with all those extra people around. DN (27 months) is amazing though he can sing 2 Killers songs and can tell you who the President of America is he did keep asking me to translate for DS though!

Sazz a friend of mine did the same to his DW's brand new Discovery and basically had to replace the engine at a ridiculous cost.

Still suffering from jetlag (or at least the effects of DS having it). He wouldn't go to sleep till about 10.30pm last night and is now refusing to go in his cot. Really hope we haven't messed up his sleeping by letting him sleep in our bed when he woke and we were in England as he was always in our room. He used to love going to bed and ask to go but now I just get an abject 'no' when I ask him.

Cyteen good luck with the appointment I hope you get the referral as well as the ADs if you decide to take them. I was on Sertraline both when I was first suffering from depression and also when I had PND as I could continue to breastfeed. I would say the greatest difference from the first bout to the PND was the anxiety as I'd never suffered that before.

hotterpotter · 19/04/2010 08:00

Coffee please, normal service resumed today and both DC awake at 6.45am despite not going to bed until 8pm

Poor DD has some kind of rash on her face too so rather than a fun trip to see my friend and talk about her party we will be off to the doctors

Queenie that's not good re DP's no-payrise. Have they started treating him better in other ways though?

Springa sorry to hear DS still unsettled following your return. Just imagine if you had been going home last weekend you would probably have had time to meet all of us!

Also at all the car woes but hopefully no lasting damage done...

Right better phone doctors

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/04/2010 08:16

Morning HP - Hope T is okay and it's nothing horrible.

DD awake at 6.30 but had at somepoint materialised in our bed - I assume DH got her at some point. Although I didn't hear more than a grumble from her. Battenburg and tea for breakfast as the bread is still rising in the lukewarm morning sun.

QOD - good to see you but about DP's payrise after all the hours he puts in.

Dizzy - hope you are feeling better this morning and it wasn't contagious.

Singa - Could DS be unsettled by the jetlag and then the sudden change in home? It's alot for a small mind to deal with in a very short space if time.

DD needs new shoes again she has managed to break the buckle on one by sticking her foot in a gap between 2 fences and then yanking it furiously in temper to get it out! We have trouble getting shoes to fit as she has a very high instep and nothing fits so I think a trip to Bath to Russel and Bromley is on the cards.

steaknife · 19/04/2010 08:41

Post just arrived, thank you my darling!

Was just thinking about the SW mamas and wondering who would like to come and build sandcastles anytime soon.

cyteen · 19/04/2010 08:45

oops maybe a cobbler could sort it out without the need for new shoes?

hotter I meant to say last night, we will need pics of your gothy finery

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/04/2010 09:10

Cyteen - unfortunately she has ripped the whole buckle out of the canvas - she doesn't do things by half my child!

Steaky - We would love to come and buyild sandy castles but I am on an enforced (by DH) 1 hour distance limit from home after the weekend. I will wait until he is less worried and we will pop to see you.

Morning, peace and quiet at last. I love school. Schooly schooly school.

Oops Ricosta is good brand for high insteps too but £35-40 a pair.

So much to do, so little inclination...

dizzydixies · 19/04/2010 10:40

oh ffs - he didn't although WHY am I shocked. SO so so sorry Sazz, I remember him mention saying about having a nice time in France and I said are you SURE you said France (i.e. summer) and NOT Paris to which he said 'yes'

right am off to murder a polis

oh and on a note, you may wish to intercept the post as DH's birthday card was posted by a very exicted DD1 and will be there far too early (possibly today) SORRY!!!!!

Oops - all of mine have stupid high insteps, brand called GBB utterly brilliant if you can get them

QofD - pita re raise

Singapore - hope move went smoothly and DS settles soon

Hots - fingers crossed an antihistmen will clear the wee soul right up

hectic night/morning in house of Dixie. DH decided to snore like bog eel so I gave up and came to sleep on couch at midnight - not much sleep had and kids started playing silly buggers at 4am. DD1 convinced she was gong to be sick as she burped DD2 sick once and D just being angry, fecked off shouty baby DH off to work for the course he was told about at 16:50 on Fri only to be told that it is in fact tomorrow and not today - no apology NOTHING just told to work 7-5 today and turn up at 7am again tomorrow [is there a RAGE emoticon because isn't covering it]

DD1 away to school, DD2 had to be dragged out of bed and deposited at playgroup (not best pleased either) and D now down for a nap. I have a cafe meeting tonight where am convinced am about to get royally screwed over as adgenda has been sent out with changes it without consulting me and I am apparently not chairing meeting and there have been several meetings happening without my attendence am about done I think and utterly mortified regards how naive I've been re the whole thing fingers crossed I'm being dramatic and paranoid

morning all else, sorry for whinging on - on the plus point yesterdays lurgy has lost me 4lbs - am expecting it right back on once I rehydrate today though!!
